Laseraway has predatory marketing strategies and in my opinion are 100% overpriced. They called me nonstop after looking at their website, and I honestly felt pressured into buying one of their packages (but I guess that's on me). What is really disappointing is that after paying $2400 to do the recommended amount of laser treatments on 2 very small areas on my body, I am still having regular hair growth on those areas. I've had laser hair removal on other areas of my body through different companies over the years, and the hair did not grow back nearly as fast. Management, please note, I called your Castro location today and asked to redeem a Groupon coupon that was gifted to me and expires 2/27/21, therefore I needed to make an appointment before it expired. The woman on the phone scheduled a consultation for me at 1:30 pm. I received an email with a zoom link, which I logged into at 1:30 pm. I waited for 15 minutes, then called your Castro location. The man that answered looked up the consultation and said no one had been assigned to it. In short, I could have been sitting on the line waiting for 30 minutes for no one to show up. The man proceeded to tell me about all the pricing options and financing, which I advised I was not interested in as I wanted to try out the service using the Groupon. He dismissively said he would text me later. I waited 30 minutes and received no text. I then called the Union Street location and spoke to Kayla. I explained what happened. She helped me schedule an appointment to use the Groupon and sold me another small package, sent me the invoice, sent me the link to set up the profile, and put me in touch with an NP to conduct a health check. It's now been five hours later and I still haven't received a text from the man at the Castro location. My Castro experience deserved zero stars and my Union Street experience deserved five stars, so I'm giving this review three stars. Kayla was so nice and professional. The Castro location clearly doesn't have it together and screwed up twice. I didn't feel comfortable going there bc if their receptionists can't get it right, I don't want that office lasering my face. My experience: I went to an appointment here about a year ago & the staff was rude & unprofessional. I don't believe the person I was talking to could actually be an RN or any certification that Laser Away claims all staff have because her "bedside manner" was terrible. I felt extremely uncomfortable and I never went back or followed up, instead I bought a handheld IPL device for $300. Their dishonest pricing: This was definitely the right move since laser away wanted to charge me $6000+ for a full treatment and let me say the IPL does the same thing and doesn't hurt badly. It's weird that they don't explicitly state the price on the website, but always have "insane deals". Bc another clinic I was considering (I forgot the name) was charging less and that was their full price listed. Again I didn't even bother visiting that clinic since Laser Away put me off so much. The worst marketing strat: Unfortunately I still get A LOT of ads to this day from Laser away after giving them my phone number & Email address. I clicked on one for coolsculpting, which I'm interested in and I thought after all this time maybe i could try again, especially since I live in Los Angeles now so it'll be a different location. Once again I was disappointed they don't have the price listed on the site. I think it's a disgusting and trashy marketing strategy, which sadly perfectly aligns with my experience at this clinic. Their claims fall short: I decided to go on their Instagram after seeing them claim to be the leading clinic is what they do. It was jarring bc their Instagram made it seem like the clinic was a pleasant and fun environment, and my experience was that it was one of the more boring and unpleasant medical facilities I've been too, I would even go as far as to say it was unorganized and unclean (nothing gross, just not to the standard you'd expect a medical facility to be). And then I was shocked to read that their staff are "highly trained" with 80+ hours of training...thats less than a month of training to be clear, it could just be 2 weeks if they train full time. that's why I'm writing this review a year late, bc this place sucks. read more

I was skeptical at first. The place is pricey, and the service was good, but I don't know if it was _that_ good. I'm doing laser facial hair removal. I'm a guy, and I got coarse black hair. And I'm sensitive to that type of pain in that area, especially around the lips. Laseraway offers numbing cream application. But it takes about half an hour to wait after applying it before starting the procedure. Today, I was a bit late, and I decided not to wait and went right to the procedure. And as I was squirmish even with numbing before. I prepared to have not a very pleasant time, but it was my fault for the time management; they were ready to wait. The specialist today was Meredith. And oh my, that was the best experience I've got with any cosmetic procedure at all! And by "the best," I mean by a considerable margin! She wasn't acting irritated about me being late. She saw that I was nervous and calmed me down to the degree that, in the end, I said that I felt like a very brave fifth grader. :) And I meant it. She was very calm, took her time, never rushed the procedure, and so on. She was thorough and precise. After stinging a spot with the laser, she took her time to cool down the most sensitive spots. She paused between 2-3 stings in the exposed areas. And she made sure to cover all the difficult-to-reach spots on my face. So to summarize. Laseraway got great lasers, as far as I know. Their sales guys tend to push the sales a bit too much, so avoid falling for that. But the specialist is no less important than the machines they're using. And this place has the best specialist I've ever met in hair removal and cosmetology in general. The photo of my face after a couple of days without shaving. 4-5 seances of facial hair removal. Usually, I got very heavy stubble at the time. Now it's primarily grey hairs, which aren't affected by a laser a lot. Definitely scammy. This review is based on my personal experience, and after speaking personally with others who have undergone similar situations. This review is intended to warn others so that they don't get stuck like I did, or at least so they go in with a level of awareness and prepared, knowing things may not work out as promised by LaserAway. I did three treatments with them: 1- Thermage; 2- IPL; 3- Botox and Xeomin (I put these two in the same category.) 1- Thermage: I did an assessment and was told I was a good candidate. I triple checked because I had done Ultherapy in the past and did not see any results. I was told I would definitely see results I would be happy with. I did the treatment on my face and neck. Six months later I went back for before and after pictures and we all confirmed there were no visible results at all. I spoke to Katrina and Natasha in management. Katrina was absolutely disrespectful and it was like talking to a wall. Thanks to my rep, I was escalated to Natasha. Natasha said all the right things on the phone, and did not deliver on her promise. They did not make this right by me. They offered to give me an immaterial discount on another treatment. No, thank you. 2- IPL: The machines they use work. However, what they did with me (and others I spoke to) is that they use a lower intensity (or whatever the unit of measure is) so you have to keep going back. Twice I saw absolutely no results. One of those they comped thanks to my representative, Liz, who is actually very nice. I had done IPLs somewhere else before, and after 3 sessions my face looked as clear as it could get. I did 7 sessions with LaserAway to not get even close to where I got in the past with another company. I also did IPL on my chest twice, one of them also with no results, the second one with some minor ones, but I could notice at least a slight difference. 3- Botox and Xeomin. I tried them both. I don't do it in between my eyebrows or center of forehead because, for my job, I need to be able to express and show emotions. One of the applications, the nurse did it asymmetrically, so I had a slanted forehead for a while. And they could not or would not try to fix it. They advised I waited until the effect was over. Notes FYI: They will tell you Botox will last you about 4 months. It lasts two months on me. I was told by one nurse it could be because I workout. The nurses go very low on the units, which is fine with me. They only do Botox on the upper portion of your face (no lower third) again, just FYI. The one thing they are REALLY good at is marketing and sales. They will corner you into purchasing anything. They are very nice about it and pushy. Almost like a con artist would do. Note for LaserAway: As I mentioned above, I already spoke to management a number of times, and wasted hours doing so. I really hope I don't get a meaningless and useless comment in response to my review like others did. read more

I recently went in for lip filler and I am very frustrated and unhappy with what I experienced. I went in and was numbed and then when we got to the lip filler, my nurse said I had a couple of bumps in my lips from the filler I already had. To my knowledge I only had one but she was insisting I had multiple, which I only have physically felt ONE Bump in my top lip. She said She would do a massage and i'd have to reschedule, which was already frustrating since I book in advance of when I want it done by. She does the massage and then says we're done. I have to reschedule, which she is the nurse so I don't make a big deal out of it. I trust what she's saying even with the bumps in my lip, but the thing that is frustrating is how she left me. As I was leaving, my friend was with me and she says my lips look uneven and bumpy. I look in my mirror and my lip has a dent in it, all my filler was moved to one side! I now have a huge bump I did not have before and I do not understand how a nurse can leave you like this. I waited a bit to see if it would go down and nothing. A big bump of filler because of her. I decided to go back to the location and complain and ask about it, she is no help and acts like she doesn't really care. She keeps repeating "You have to massage it" and I ask "Well what if I can't get it out?" she just keeps repeating massage it. I came in with perfect lips and left with an uneven bottom lip and she didn't even put anymore filler. How does that make sense? I'm so frustrated and I have to wait another week to try and fix it. I've been icing, leaving it alone, and even massaging myself but it doesn't go down. I have a huge lump on one side that certainly was not there before. My lips are uneven all from a massage. If you're going to do a massage on me i would think you'd do all the way through. read more

3 things about this place: Super high prices. Unreasonable company policies. Stuck-up uptight management. I regret being stuck with this place after buying a package of 8 laser hair removal treatments. I do not recommend them to anyone. The package I bought includes the shoulders and the chest. I only need treatment on half of my chest. Despite this, they did not give me any discount. On the other hand, I have a special issue on my shoulders that the problematic hair patches grow about 1 inch down from the shoulders towards the arms. I asked them if the shoulder area can be increased only by an inch to cover all the hair. I believe this is not a big ask especially given that a much bigger area on my chest is not being treated. The management of this branch refused it. What was the manager's explanation? "Chest and shoulders are different body parts." Well, thank you Barbara for your MD level explanation. The same laser is used on all body parts. They don't give any discount for the areas they don't treat but they don't show any flexibility to cover an additional small area. They use this stupid policy to make more money. They tried to sell me another package for the upper arms. Their communication style is so uptight. So uptight that it is funny. I got treatments in 2 other laser places. In both of those places they showed flexibility and covered all body areas I need for much lower prices. When I told the manager this, her response was "We are LaserAway. We have company policies." Well, thank you again Barbara. You are basically saying your company and its policies suck. They seem to be so proud that they are the super LaserAway. So I guess they believe they bring rocket science to laser hair removal. Only kudos I give is to clinicians. I had 2 treatments and both clinicians I worked with were professional and nice. I recommend anyone looking for laser hair removal to find another place that has people who will listen to you and show flexibility according to your needs. This is cosmetic healthcare. I felt really welcomed, specifically by Daniel K., he was such a doll during my consultation that I could say he was definitely a huge part of why I decided to sign up for so many Clear & Brilliant treatments! Thus far I've had two C+B treatments at medium to high levels for texture and scarring and it's been really wonderful. As someone who's had many treatments with regular Fraxel in the past and has hated the downtime and months of recovery, this new procedure has been such a relief. The downtime of C+B is nothing compared to regular Fraxel and I'm so thankful. Plus, I'm moving this month and don't have to worry about going to the same clinic because there are so many locations throughout the US. Normally I go to the laser away in Milpitas, but I was visiting a friend in sf during the time my appointment was due so I went to the Castro street location instead. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming and shoutout to my nurse Vivian. Vivian was so kind and offered me a stress ball to squeeze while I was getting my treatments, she frequently checked in on me to see how I was feeling throughout the process. I like to write positive reviews but I'm not sure I can forgive this. I went in for my third IPL treatment to help with postpartum pigmentation on my face. I thought I smelled burning hair during the treatment when she treated my temples. A few days later I noticed that my eyebrow hairs were shriveled and curled. I called to ask if they could have overheated the eyebrow hair despite the tape they placed on the brows- I just wanted assurance that my eyebrow hairs would not fall out. They asked me to text photos which I did. I have not heard back from them. My eyebrow hairs at the tapered ends have now all fallen out. I will call again but I'm not sure there's anything they can do at this point. I feel disfigured. read more

However, after I canceled the following treatments that were to be used with a loan, Laser Away claimed the loan would be canceled as well. But, the following years instead included phone calls from a creditor who took out wages from my account and hurt my credit score for treatments I never received. I then gave Laser Away the chance to reconcile the situation but they won't do anything. So I suffered lost wages and a hurt credit score and they won't even honor the package. I've received many treatments, from clear&brilliant, to laser hair removal to Botox etc. Their quality of Botox sucks for one, I'm not sure how botox can suck, or if there are different "brands," of a neurotoxin but oh well. They will try to sell you packages and harass you with calls until you come in (or these days Zoom) for a consultation. A lot of their services don't actually do anything to increase the quality of your life. I've been to different LaserAway locations, but when I entered this one, I was treated with disrespect from this girl natasha that was nasty and condescending asking why I was even there if I didn't make an appointment and how things are booked in advanced.
