Listen I love Laspada's, I mean look at my five star review which I'm not changing, but why are some people being told to wear a mask and others not...I have no problem and believe we should due to the family member having cancer, but the rule needs to be equal across the board. I've been to this location once a while back. I went to the one on Lee Road, which mind you is much closer to my house, but it in NO WAY compares to this location. The quality of the food is undeniably so much better. I was in the mood for a philly and came here last week. I've since been there three more times in a week and a half period and I'm already planning my next trip. The prices have gone up, but they're working on updating the menu, so it is not reflected yet and I did notice a few people walk out. Yes, it can be expensive (12" green pepper cheesesteak and curly fries ran me around $20) but I'd rather pay a little bit more for high quality food I'm going to enjoy then something lack luster for a little cheaper. Also, the 12" is the largest and huge! Enough to share or make a couple meals out of. You also get a TON of curly fries! They have great lunch specials and you can upgrade to their amazing curly fries for an up charge. They are usually extremely busy and last time I went the male taking orders was extremely flustered. He was still kind, just a little short. I don't blame him, I believe I heard something about the Orange City locations phones being down. Nonetheless if you haven't been here you're truly missing out on amazing food. Be patient it's worth it and please wear a mask. I completely missed the HUGE sign on the door asking everyone to wear a mask due to a family member having cancer. Thankfully, I found a mask in my car and was very apologetic. read more

Since I already know how good their cheesesteaks are, I wanted to try something different and the reviews of "The Monster" peaked my interest I decided to go for it! I asked for the 8" (smallest size) and opted for it "all the way." With barely any coaxing, I also ended up getting it as a combo, which brings a medium bag of chips and a fountain drink. My total ended up coming to slightly over $13. My sandwich was a monstrosity, which is a perfect name for this beast of a sandwich. The monster comes loaded with ham, Turkey, roast beef and provolone on a hoagie. Mine had lettuce, tomato, mustard, Mayo, banana peppers and pickles. I could not even close the Sandwich! I have tried LaSpadas before and I really enjoyed their classic cheesesteak but this time, I was a bit disappointed. The bread was very slim and small while the meat was a bit dry. The service is always pleasant but always a bit empty. They did mention that they lost power when I picked up my food so the poor quality could had been due to that. He told me to deal with it through the third-party but obviously they don't package the food. Finally got to try this place. Forgot about photos because when food came out we devoured it. Staff was very friendly, place was clean. The cheesesteak was a tad pricier than what I'm used too......but appreciated the fresh veggies. The children's meals were the best deal ever. Never before have I seen kid meals for $5 that include the entree, fries and drinks! That alone made me add Laspadas to my rotation and def will take advantage when I have the kiddos. Good cheesesteaks down here in central Florida. The origin of the three locations in central Florida (there are three locations, one in Orange City, one in Orlando, and this location in Sanford. There is also a location in Fort Lauderdale, but it only has cold subs and was bought out by an outside party) was started in the Chester, Pennsylvania area and moved down here to Florida in the 1970's. They are not skimpy on the meat and it is shaved ribeye, the only steak that should be used to make a cheesesteak. They did move away from Amoroso rolls. Their explanation is they found a roll that "held up better," my guess would be that the locally sourced rolls were at a better price point than having Amoroso ship them down from Philly. If you are seeking a good cheesesteak in the central Florida area, seek out one of these three locations. read more

Had the Spada Italian hoagie. 8" was packed with meat and veg. It was about twice the price than other places at $13 for a 6" with small tip, no drink or side. Flavorful and meat was good quality. Hoagie role held up to the task of keeping it all together. My only suggestion is the place looks like it could use a deep cleaning so don't come if you can't take a place that looks like it is from 70's because it is. Also turn down the tv/music a couple of notches so the employees aren't yelling at each other to be heard. read more

Even the small sandwich is pretty big and is packed with meat, cheese, and grilled onions. It's an authentic Philly style cheesecake that reminds me of places up north. The Italian sub is the best, in my opinion... however, the Philly cheese steak is nothing to sneeze at either. So we ordered online. We got there and at my wife puts it, they were "come basura". They seemed like they were on break. Nothing appeared to be cooking despite several orders being up. They said our food was ready and coming right out. They then proceeded to make it. We were trying to limit our time in the restaurant due to the coronavirus, which didn't happen. Not a good start. So, the cheesesteak sandwich would have to be pretty stellar to still get 5 stars right? You bet this was the best cheesesteak in South of Philly. It was huge, and if you read my other reviews, you know I'm picky when places are cheap with portions. The flavor was fantastic. We had it with American cheese, mushrooms, and peppers. Come early for lunch or call your order in because they get very busy at lunch. Parking can be tricky sometimes because the auto place next door I noticed parks cars in their lot. They need to get some assigned parking signs reserved for the restaurant. I also alike their Italian subs. Order at the counter and pay. Best cheesesteak. I tried to nicely explain this to the Manager and he was rude and belligerent, wouldn't even let me explain completely. He basically called me a liar. We didn't want a refund but our food re- made because what we got so bad we couldn't even eat, it went in the trash! This place is a portal to small town PA somehow. My wife Is from PA and I have obviously been there multiple times as well, there is definitely a vibe that is found in this place. The restaurant is unassuming....in fact, it has just the right amount of "dive" feel to be authentic. The folks in here are uniquely PA (I didn't have to ask-they just are). Service was friendly too. Really this place isn't especially close to a lot of other businesses, yet it still was fairly busy.....folks apparently know about authenticity..... I ordered a regular cheesesteak w/ curly fries. It was the right amount of greasy to be considered A PA cheesesteak. The meat was a good consistency. The size was....well, more than I could eat in one sitting. I had asked for Swiss as a substitution for white American and the folks here were happy to customize. My wife ordered the pizza cheesesteak.....it was topped with a red sauce and Parmesan. It looked rather tasty too. My son had ordered something called a cheeseburger cheesesteak (minus the cheese)....this was literally some hamburger patties cut up on a hoagie. Interesting....a perfect novelty to be honest. I felt obligated to order a cheesesteak on my first visit here to experience it, but to be honest there was plenty of other sandwiches on the menu that seemed appealing. I saw them making a Rueben of some sort that looked amazing, too. Don't expect to walk into high-class dining here. You get served on paper plates and eat at a sandwich shop diner table that is littered with local advertisements.....but that's part of the PA authentic charm in some me ways.
