Friends. I ordered the roasted chicken salad. It had everything advertised on the menu: romaine, mixed greens, chickpeas, carrots, lemon dill vinaigrette. What the menu did not mention was that there would be a full jar's worth of pickled gherkins in the salad. Don't get me wrong, I love a gherkin--say as an accompaniment for a sandwich. I enjoy them in the 2s and 3s. Observe in the attached photos the effluence of unexpected gherkins (after I had eaten the salad portion). I estimate that in a large bowl of salad 30-40% of the mass was gherkin, outweighing any (if not all) of the ingredients listed on the menu. What am I to say? I am perplexed by the experience. Was it something I did? Said? Indicated that would warrant more gherkins than I would normally consume in a year? Conservatively I would estimate that my $16 salad contained $7 worth of gherkins. Surely lettuce is cheaper than that. Who asked for this? Who approved this? Who did this? And why? I have so many questions. read more

We went here a couple times this weekend, the first night, Saturday night was wonderful, fun, food was good, drinks were good and service was great so we went back Sunday night which started out pretty good then the managers left and some of the employee's started drinking, we would order drinks and they would forget, we had to remind them a couple times which leads me to believe we were double charged for a couple of them since she would go back to the computer make another entry yet I could see the drink sitting there waiting then she would bring us the drink. When we asked for the bill she brought one then when she took my credit card when it came back she had automatically added gratuities without being asked to. I wanted to write this review to thank Aiden and Nan. I showed up to have a drink after a 5 Hour drive from the Central Valley. Soon as I walked in, Aiden greeted me with a smile and offered me a seat table or a seat at the bar. I sat at the bar and I was greeted by Nan. Nan introduced herself and proceeded to ask me what I wanted to drink. I had mentioned to her that I didn't know how to explain my drink, but I described it to her as a Vegas bomb. She knew exactly what I wanted and made it and it was 100%. I was there for an hour, and I had two Vegas bombs a shot of Crown and a blue moon was great. The great ambience is great. After a long day sightseeing around San Francisco I dropped into Last Drop Tavern on my way back to my hotel for a happy hour beer. I had a Hazy IPA, which was terrific. And the price was reasonable, especially for San Francisco. The bartender was super friendly. The vibe was a warm, down to earth, neighborhood bar with very friendly staff and a chilled crowd. The music playing was very good. While I didn't eat here I saw plates of food being brought out and they looked great. I'll happily return and spend more time the next I do. read more

Sometimes you stumble upon something you need just at that very second you need it the most. For me it was climbing up Powell after missing the trolley and finding a bar before the apex of the hill. The Last Drop Tavern on a visit early this year served me up an ice cold Ballast Point brew just when I needed it. The bartender was friendly and got a chuckle that I walked Powell. One one of the steepest in the city. It's a cool little joint that serves beer, wine and liquor. They also have a food menu that's impressive. I'm in the city again and recalled I never reviewed.
