Tres leches

This is one of our go-to spots, and it did not disappoint for a very special occasion. We celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary here, and the team at Latino's y Mas went above and beyond to accommodate our party on the outdoor patio. We were even able to have mariachis, which made the celebration extra special. For a group of 35, everything ran incredibly smoothly--we had two assigned servers, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Alexi was phenomenal--so patient and attentive--and every order came out fresh and correct. We'll definitely continue visiting. Highly recommend for both everyday dining and special celebrations!

Bandeja Paisa and tacos de chicharrones

One of my favorite spots in Ocala, the service is always really fast and kind. They have a bar up front if you are just looking for drinks. We had their bandeja paisa which was delicious and the tacos with chicharrones. I wasn't the biggest fan of their frijoles but everything else was delicious :) I will say, their Peruvian AND Mexican ceviche are the best in town.

I was very excited to eat here but got very disappointed. The place looks fancy but it's not fancy. The establishment tries to be fancy with appearance and price but it truly isn't. 1st red flag started with the fancy ipad menu, but three our of 6 didn't work, they were dirty and one cracked. 2nd. Our waiter was nice and friendly but forgot our water the first time and wasn't that attentive 3rd. The food was okay but not worth the price. The rice tasted as if it were leftovers and you can taste it as if it came from a microwave. 4th. Cheaply made cocktails. An old fashion with Walmart cherries, simple syrup and poor mixture. So cheap. The only thing that was delicious was the fried pork rinds and I guess it's because that is prepared to order!

First time at this restaurant and we are so satisfied with the food. Excellent service, Lorna was a very nice and kind person. She helped me to choose my plate and was sooo good. Nice place to eat with your family, nice atmosphere.

Taco salad with steak

We went on a Friday for our 8 anniversary lunch. It was amazing! Food was delicious and service was seamless we both had the taco salad and opted for steak I also had a billionaire margarita which I also strongly recommended

The quality of a restaurant to be considered involves more than just food. Many factors dictate whether or not the experience is enjoyable to the point of a return trip. Cleanliness, pleasantries, parking, etc, they all matter. Maybe it's unfair but, it matters. We visited Latinos Y Mas last night and I had a gut feeling that things were going to be alright. You know that owners and operators of an establishment care about what they are trying to do by the presentation of the staff. All had their uniforms on and were groomed and presentable and pleasant. Ok, we were there a bit early (5:30p) on a Saturday night (before the crowd) and so, I'm sure we got them before things got hectic. Had a table in 5 minutes, sat down and within a minute were chips and salsa on the table. Pleasant server took our drink order as we perused the menu (iPads mind you. No paper). The drinks looked and tasted great. A couple of mojitos and they didn't shy away from the booze! We had the carne asada and another steak dish with onions the name of which escapes me. Both tender and delicious. The wait staff was very attentive. Let me put it this way, I removed the paper wrapper from my straw that came with my water with lemon and balled it up and within about a minute our server came by and took the balled up paper from the table! Good thing for my wife as, I was just about to "field goal" flick that paper at her! Lol Very pleasant experience and good food. As we left, we saw the line of people waiting outside. Can't be bad if people will wait to get inside.

After reading several reviews we were a bit skeptical of giving this place a try. This restaurant was profiled in a magazine of great places to eat while in Ocala-couldn't be that bad right? We decided to try it out for lunch last Monday. First- the parking lot is very clean and lot of spaces. Once inside we were greeted by smiling welcoming faces and seated immediately. The menu is on an iPad type of device - no biggie. Our server took our order immediately and then brought us chips and salsa which were good. My husband ordered the Bandeja Paisa and I ordered the chicken breast fried (pollo empanizado). After living in south Florida for 50 years we are very familiar with this type of cuisine and I will tell you this restaurant held up nicely in comparison. Both of our dishes were fresh and delish. For dessert we ordered a flan which was good as well. We will return.

Electronic Menu!!!!!

Wonderful food! Jaime was our helpful server extraordinaire tonight! He wished us Happy New Year in Spanish and English. Our orders were both taken and served expediently. We enjoyed the soft background music, the clean tables, and the electronic iPad menus! Have eaten here before and will return! 10/10

It looked good because they have very good marketing. The food was not authentic in the service was so so. Maybe we went on a busy day but service was really slow.

In town for a business event at the World Equestrian Center, and we stayed at the Equus Inn. In the mood for Mexican and we luckily stumbled uponthis spot. The service was stellar. The food was amazing. I had a Peruvian dish, which was tasty and delightful. Also had a side of guacamole. Margaritas were also right on point.

Since I had seafood already, I went with Cuban. The friendly guy at the counter took my order, which was a Cuban sandwich (10 dollars) and mango smoothie (5.50). My sandwich included a side, and I chose the potato salad. I was told there would be a small wait, but was handed the potato salad from the fridge. The potato salad was typical, but delicious with a nice amount of potatoes. The smoothie came before the Cuban sandwich. It almost tasted like mango lassi, but a bit more icy. It tasted natural and flavorful though. The sandwich came 5 minutes later, and it was quite hot in temperature. However, the flavors were missing. The bread was a bit bland, but it was soft. The pork looked to be pressed, but it tasted good. The ham tasted like regular supermarket quality. There weren't many pickles in my sandwich, but I was able to taste the mustard and melted cheese inside. I honestly ate the insides and left quite a bit of bread. There was no atmosphere other than the typical mall food court. There wasn't much of a crowd and the mall looks like it is dying. Even though I didn't care for the Cuban sandwich, the mango smoothie and potato salad was good. Thus, I will round up to 4 stars. Else, it would have been a 3.75 if decimals were allowed in ratings. I would visit and order again, but only the smoothie and it was natural and had various flavors at a reasonable price.

How dare they even call this Cuban food? From what kind of Cuban who sends a Cafe Con Leche with no sugar in it? In my entire life of eating Cuban food mostly in Miami and Key West I never had Cafe Con Leche without sugar! It was burnt tasting and awful - undrinkable. The Carne Guisada (Beef Stew) had no olives, capers or raisins in it - only potatoes, carrots and beef and had barely cooked so the meat was like an old shoe. It was unappetizing chunks of fatty, tough, sinewy meat, unpleasant and salty. Impossible to chew and swallow. The side dishes were an insult to Cubans everywhere - flavorless mojo with boiled yuca and red beans that were mostly watery bean juice and a few red beans. The pork tamale had no flavor and the meat was fatty pork that the cat had difficulty chewing with her fangs. Obviously all the good reviews on Google are fake or people in this ridiculous town have no clue what comprises real Cuban food. It was some of the worst food I've had in this burg and that's going some.

When we walked in, the place was quite busy with diners with most looking like they were enjoying their Cuban breakfast sandwich. My wife and I opted to order the Breakfast Combo #1, which came with eggs, choice of protein, hash browns, Cuban toast and a small cafe con leche. My wife went with sausage and I opted for bacon...this was after the lady behind the counter dissuaded me from ordering combo #2 (guess she's not a fan of the tomato sauce). We also ordered a couple of guava and cheese turnovers for a snack later. Breakfast was OK. Wished the eggs were fluffier but they were fine. The buttery Cuban toast was good and so were the cafe con leche...wished the coffee size was bigger. The biggest disappointment was the bacon, if you can call it that. When I first saw the bacon, I thought it looked odd...and my suspicions were confirmed when I bit into and tasted it. The texture was off and it had no flavor. Perhaps it was turkey bacon or vegetarian bacon, either way I wasn't informed that the bacon would be some weird facsimile of bacon. Surprised the lady behind the counter didn't try to convince me to change my choice of meat. We'll probably go back for breakfast but will definitely avoid ordering that strange bacon. Breakfast for 2 with the turnovers and tip cost just under $30.

After checking out the menu and mindful to avoid ordering fried items based on reviews that they're overly greasy, my wife ordered the The Ricky ($13.50 + $1.00 up charge - Cuban roast pork on Cuban bread) with sweet potato waffle fries and I ordered The Pepin ($16 - Cuban roast pork served with red beans and rice and fried sweet plantains). We just had water with our meals. My wife thought the bread was fresh but thought the roast pork was just OK. The sandwich paired well with the honey mustard but not so much with the mojo au jus. My dish started out good, with my first taste of the roast pork being good and flavorful then just went meh after that. The sweet plantains are always good for me. Ambience was cool and upbeat. Portions were generous and it had decent value...but we thought the flavors of the roast pork were muted and fell well short of the pernil flavor we've come accustomed to. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $39.

Located in a strip mall anchored by a Roses Discount Store, the place looked dark from the outside and the "Open" sign didn't appear to be lit but we knew they were open because of various Open yard signs in front of the establishment. Upon walking in, we were seated right away and presented the menu. They have daily specials but they didn't have pernil, although they had lechon asado like most of the Cuban/Latin American restaurants we've tried in the area. I ordered the lechon asado which came with yellow rice, fried plantains and red beans. My wife tried their Midnite Cuban sandwich. The lechon asado was flavorful (but of course no crunchy skin) and the yellow rice was good as well. My wife's sandwich, however, was a disappointment! The roast pork had an off taste and was gristly...she had to remove that meat from her sandwich.
