I feel like I've been stalking this place on Instagram FOREVER (their Insta game is TOP NOTCH), and we found ourselves in the area a couple nights ago looking for a fun spot for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. I'm glad we gave Laura's a try, because I've been dying to eat here! It was yummy for the most part, and seems to be a reliable spot for delish pub grub and giant portions. We started off with the Loaded Tater Tots, which arrived at the table in a lil' skillet, topped with cheese and bacon. Super yummy, but then again, anything covered in cheese and bacon has to be good. I wanted to save room for my entree, but the Buffalo Chicken Dip also looked tasty, and I'll probably be ordering that next time. For main courses, we got the Steak and Cheese Wrap (him) and the Penne A La Vodka with Chicken (me). Thanks to our kind server for letting me get it with chicken parm chicken instead - super rich, flavorful, and comforting. It would have been better if they used homemade pasta instead of boxed ziti, but the sauce was SO GOOD. My boyfriend is gluten-free, and they had GF wraps and bread for the sandwiches and burgers. However, they don't have a separate gluten free menu, or any indication on the menu which items can be made gluten free. Thank you so much to our rockstar server for listing off all of the GF items - really appreciate that :) For dessert, I took on the Milk and Cookies cake solo, since the aforementioned gluten free boyfriend was not about to help me! Sad trombone for lack of GF options for dessert.. oh well. They make everything in house, so it would be cool to offer something, even as a special. Anyway, the Milk and Cookies cake was good, but the real star of the show was the Oreo cream filling inside. The frosting was too rich for me, but that Oreo fluff was amazing! I can't believe I've never reviewed here ! My fiancé and I eat here often ... as long as we can get a parking spot. Parking is tricky , the lot fills up fast , so I'd recommend going at an off time to be able to park. That being said .. everything they have there is wonderful. The menu is huge and everyone will be able to find something they like. I've had burgers , salads , tacos , chicken sandwiches. All of them are fresh , nicely spiced , and huge. Tots are an option for a side and you want them. Trust me. Loaded tots if you have room. They have some amazingly delicious cocktails. They have new ones often so always something to try. The service is always on point whether we sit at the bar or a table. If you have a family this is a nice option as they have a big Menu and it's bustling busy with lots of background noise. I'f your little ones get feisty it won't matter. Prices are on par with other places and they do have specials during the week if you are on a budget. I have been following this restaurant on social media for a few years now and recently made the trek to Smithfield. Sadly, the experience was underwhelming. Going into the experience I thought it was going to be upscale, but it reminded me of a mix of Gregg's and T's. There is a massive bar, surrounded immediately by children with crayons. It just felt weird. The food menu is OK, comfort food is the best way to describe. Not many options for pescatarians. I had a mashed potato bowl with shrimp added, it tasted like boxed mashed potatoes. The shrimp were properly cooked. Their menus on their website are outdated, so don't research drinks prior. The server made me feel silly when I asked for a drink from online rather than the paper menu. I would recommend making sure the website is up to date. I had to drinks, mango madness which was fine and the Dunkaroo mudslide. That photographs well, but is the most boring dessert drink. There was no flavor. Overall, this was a let down. We were celebrating a birthday in the family and went with Laura's. We had a group of 18 and they provided us with a side room with tables grouped together. I ordered a few drinks and they all were fabulous. For the fall season I highly recommend the pumpkin mudslide and the apple cider fish bowl!! The entree food is your average pub food. Such a great place to grab appetizers/drinks/desserts! The menu is huge lots of options. We decided on steak and cheese egg rolls (amazing), nachos and spinach artichoke dip. Everything was delicious and hot. We were stuffed but ended up ordering dessert and WOW we weren't expecting it to be a huge gourmet brownie with a homemade Reese's cup on top! Came for the first time tonight and was Very pleased. Server was awesome. It was a bonus that on Tuesdays they do $3 tacos and $6 margaritas. We had the special app-Elote nachos and omg, they were fantastic. My dining partners got a variety of tacos, sliders and I had a burger and sweet potato fries. Drinks were great. Place was packed on a Tuesday night with both indoor and outdoor seating completely full and on a wait when we left. Mike and I went here as part of the burger challenge for the Rhode Island Food Fighters. We had looked forward to it because Laura's has a great reputation for food. We ordered the burger that was available to for the challenge. We also ordered side salads because we like salad and we like to order some thing in addition to getting the free burger. We also ordered two drinks. The salads were good. Nothing fancy but good. We got the burgers and I started to eat mine and looked up and saw that Mike's face was bright red. I thought that he was choking and became concerned but I asked him and he shook his head no and then he pulled a hair out of his mouth. It had to have been about 10 inches long at least and it was still connected to the burger. It was disgusting but it happens. We called over the server and she asked if he wanted another one. And of course he wanted another one. Why would he want to eat a burger that had a hair in it? So she went in the back and ordered another burger. We waited for it and in the meantime mine got cold but I wasn't going to eat without him. And finally the burger came out and we ate our lunch without much enjoyment. I was very surprised that a manager didn't come over and at least speak with us. The burger was free to begin with but I would've been happier about the experience if someone had at least acknowledged it. I'm not sure that a manager was even told that this it happened. It is disappointing because I was looking forward to going back there in the future now that we can be safer in a restaurant. But I'm certainly not planning on it now. read more

I always love Laura's and the menu is always full of choices. I have been coming to Laura's since they open and manage to make it back now every time I come into town to visit. We went last night to meet up with friends, we were sat near the bar at one of the bar tables. It was quick to get seated but we had a bunch of college kids just standing around literally right next to our table getting drinks from the bar and waiting for a table. So I would rather not sit near the bar again as I felt like they were definitely in our personal space. Last night we ordered two mules for $6 Mule Monday, the Chicken Milanese and the short rib Mac and cheese and the daily risotto which was vegetable risotto. Everything was good but I did not like how the truffle flavor overpowered the entire Mac and cheese which almost made me want to stop eating it. The Milanese was fresh and while it could have been seasoned better since it was pretty bland, I still thought it was a solid choice. I guess my favorite part was the risotto, I don't think I'll order the two dishes again but there will always be something else. read more

Food is good- but the menu is a little tired as I have tried everything I like! I love risotto and they cram way too many string veggies in there. Stick to just mushrooms, please. Went here for supper 3/1/23 around 6pm. The place was very busy, but seated promptly. Waitress was ok (reason I only gave 4 stars). Food was 5 stars. Took some time for waitress to acknowledge us and time for drinks to arrive. She was not very friendly. It was Wednesday night and martinis were 6 dollars. Started with Buffalo chicken quesadillas which were very good. I got the eggplant florentine which was an appetizer, but very large portion and along with a side salad a great meal. Another person got the short rib ramen which was a huge portion and she said very good. Another person got the General Tso's chicken and also said very good. This is my second time eating here and the first time I'm reviewing. We ended up getting was a pizza which was the margarita and it was good. We also got one of the salads which was the Cobb salad and it was also quite good very large in quantity. The price was a bit on the high side but I guess that is the trend nowadays. No issues with the service. Everyone was well mannered and nice. Ambiance is good. Bathroom is clean. They have plenty of parking in their lot and it is free. Friendly but not too attentive, Sunday brunch offered a mediocre breakfast and were pancakes dry. I asked for butter, ketchup and Tabasco twice but only the butter made it to the table. I do like the bottomless mimosas. Six college age kids were seated near us and they took full advantage of the mimosa refills to the point of being sloppy drunk. It was sad but fun to watch. The build your own Bloody Mary is another nice cocktail. You customize it to your taste and the options can make it a meal. With its bright decor and a staff as welcoming as its inside appearance, Laura's was an easy choice for lunch with a large group the other day. It's also an easy choice if you are staying in the Hampton Inn which shares the parking lot, and it will be equally good for folks who, sometime after this review was written, could also stay in the new hotel across the street. The beer list was extensive, with a nice variety of types and many from regional breweries. Our server had no problem with splitting the check a variety of ways and was also very good at handling special requests on orders. My crafted burger included Swiss cheese, guacamole, and bacon, but the "problem" was I couldn't remember if I actually asked for bacon on the burger. In any event, I was fine with it and had no problem paying for it either. I opted for Brussels sprouts as the side. They aren't roasted or grilled, probably pan sauteed since they were cooked but not crisp, but they did have an enjoyable flavor (a little disappointed in that since the place is called Laura's GRILL). But the burger was the important part,and it was grilled to order and tasty. You get a lot of decent options for your side(s) with most of your meals. The place is busy during lunch hours... try to show up a little early or a little later if you don't want to wait for a table. read more

Arrived on a Saturday evening for a late night dinner at 10:40 (kitchen closed at 11:00). Sat outside (there were other people outside also) and was completely ignored. At 10:54 I had to go remind the girls at the door (that sat us) we were outside and only had 6 more minutes to order. We split a giant pretzel and the chicken saltimbocca. The pretzel was standard fare and the chicken dish had its good and bad points. The chicken itself was more than likely pounded and very moist and tender. The prosciutto di parma was high quality and very tasty and tender. The marsala wine sauce was bland, yet contained too much sage, which overtook the taste of the marsala. Barrier will not keep out COVID!! Cannot return until this is fixed. I actually went there because it was not busy. I got a booth that had NO SEPARATION OR THE HANGING plexiglass is dangerous, scary and useless (See picture). Concern. I would usually take the the time to relax and look over the menu. Very busy place. They don't do reservations even though it says they do online. Walk in only. I was told 40 minute wait but it was more like 25 on a Friday night. We waited in car and they called when table was ready. We ordered Buffalo chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and they are everything. The general gaos chicken would have been good if they weren't so heavy on the ginger. The flatbread is a giant frickin pizza. I ordered it as my meal and ate 2 pieces. I took the rest home. We have been to Laura's many times. The food is always very good. The portions are large, not too huge. The ingredients are always fresh, especially the seafood. It's not your typical bar food. While there are those type of dishes on the menu, they always have different specials. The seafood dishes are some of the best around, the panned sea scallops never disappoint! My bride loves her sweets and some of the dessert specials are must have or take home! They mix a very good cocktail and the beer selection is one of the best around, always changing what's on tap. The service is another reason that we keep coming back. The young ladies at the hostess station could be a little more welcoming. I get that the place is always hopping, but they could be a bit friendlier. Other wise, everyone else here is super friendly, from the bartenders to the servers, they all seem to really like their jobs, and it shows in their attitudes and service. As stated above, we have visited many times, and we do not have a favorite server or bartender, they have all been awesome! The ambience is typically bar crowd crowded and can be over the top loud, but it's a very large bar area, with a lot of TV's playing sports. There are a lot of tables that cater to those who don't care to eat at a bar. The additional music blasting at times from ceiling speakers in the bar could be toned down a bit as it's not a necessity to make the place seem lively. Parking can be a challenge, and wait times can be long, but if you plan ahead a bit, it's manageable. Parking is available in the Hotel lot behind the restaurant as well behind the gas station on the side of Laura's. While you can't make reservations, you can check in ahead via their website. Highly recommend a visit here. If you like eating at the bar, as we do, this place covers all the bases. read more
