Laurel Hardware is hidden behind the completely unseeming facade of a literal hardware store. Inside is a juxtaposition: beautiful design with dim lighting. My friend has been ranting and raving about grabbing drinks at this spot. We sat in their outside patio. It was decorated with trees and small-bulb lighting. Our server was extremely nice. A disability accommodation nightmare: I feel so sad to be leaving a low review for a place I once loved. I booked a reservation for 11 people to celebrate my graduation here a month in advance. When I tried adding two people, I was abruptly told that if I added even one more person there would be a $65 per person minimum. The average price of a meal here is about $30. I hesitantly uninvited my guests, still hoping to come here although the tone on the phone felt very uninviting. Should have been my red flag. When I arrived on the evening of 6/12/26, the first thing I was told was that there was a time limit for the table which made me feel pressured. (I wasn't told that when I booked) The table we were seated at was set up with very high stools with no backing. ( no other tables were set up like this to my knowledge) I knew immediately this was not going to work for my handicapped grandparents and a guest of mine with significant mobility issues. I spoke with the manager who stated he could only offer us either additional high up stools with small backings or separate my party to two distant tables. I was told it was my responsibility to have told them in advance if I needed an accommodation and that this was the only table that could seat 11. I guess this restaurants policy, from my understanding is that if you request a table of 11, they'll assume everybody is able bodied, not in a wheelchair, and can get up on high stools. Any request for a lower table will be deemed an unreasonable request and you'll be forced to separate from your family. There were plenty of open tables that would have worked, but we were told these were being held for people with a reservation... I guess my month early booking didn't mean anything. After over an hour of advocating, we compromised by sitting in separate but closer tables. By then my mood and excitement to share a night with my family on what I had hoped to be a very special day was tainted. The only saving grace is that our waitress, Nadia, was very kind to us and not at all a part of my complaints. Never in my life have I had to warn a restaurant about having some family members who have mobility issues. It's a reasonable request to be seated in a chair and not a high stool. If this was all they had for my party, I hope moving forward that they ask larger parties beforehand if anyone needs a regular chair, and to provide clarity prior to the party arriving if this is something they can't do. I am hopeful that this was a poor management decision and that the owner will read this and counsel their management staff appropriately. I'm so sad to be leaving this experience like this. I hope that this restaurant thinks about how they want to move forward in their treatment of community members with disabilities who want to support their business. read more

I've been here a couple of times just because I love the ambiance so much. They offer a wide variety of menu items, but I favor their day/lunch menus more. They used to offer shrimp tacos which I thought were one of the best things they made, but it has since been taken off. The last time I went, I ordered their duck fried rice, 2 pizzas, and a pasta (ravioli). These entrees were well portioned and perfect for a party of four, and we also tacked on some apps but I forgot to take pics. I really prefer their pizza and pastas to their other dinner menu items, the pizza dough and pasta are perfect consistency and just make you want to keep going back for more. I also really like that booking reservations are easily and conveniently done through the Resy app so I never feel like I have to wait in a queue. We also sampled some of their happy hour bites! The lollipop sprouts, which appear to be some kind of kale / brussel sprout hybrid ($14). It was tasty! The food was really delicious and our server was very attentive and super friendly. i would have given this place five stars but each food item pretty much came out individually to the point where my daughter was finished eating before the rest of us even got our meal. It has a great ambiance, delicious drinks and the food is really good too. I do feel like I've never been here without spending over $200, but that's just the Laurel Hardware effect. I've dined here for happy hour a few times and for normal dinner service. Strong $12 happy hour margs and perfect pizza dough. I enjoyed their wings when I ate meat. Tonight we had the lavender margs and split the margherita pizza. 10/10 of course. When we got the bill we got charged for Evian water. We asked the server why we got charged and she said she asked us when we got seated "flat or sparkling". We said flat because we assumed we were going to receive complimentary tap water. This was a horrible experience from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. This was my first experience at this location and will likely be my last. I felt completely unwelcome, disrespected, and disregarded. I can't definitively say whether race was a factor, but I will say this: if you're Black or a POC, you may want to think twice before dining here. For context, I have 10+ years of service industry experience as a former server, bartender, and manager. I understand sequence of service, restaurant flow, and the standards expected at a reputable establishment. We had a 7:30 PM reservation for two people. My friend arrived at 7:30 and was told they wouldn't seat the table until the entire party arrived. Fine. I arrived at 7:40 PM, but instead of being seated, we were told by an abrasive hostess that we'd need to wait for a table to open up and were directed to the bar. This immediately confused me. Why make a reservation if customers are going to be treated like walk-ins? The hostess' tone and demeanor were cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming from the start. The bar was completely packed, so now we're standing around competing for the bartender's attention just to get drinks while waiting for our reserved table. After waiting about 20 minutes past our reservation time, we checked back with the hostess and were told there were "several people ahead of us" waiting for tables. Again: what is the purpose of reservations if customers are left waiting 30+ minutes anyway? At this point, the energy from staff consistently felt like: "WE DON'T WANT YOUR KIND HERE." My friend and I are Black, and from the first interaction onward, the atmosphere felt noticeably cold and hostile. Eventually, after waiting so long, we got frustrated and left. Halfway down the block we received a notification that our table was finally ready -- 30 minutes after the reservation time. We decided to return since we had already invested so much time. When we came back, another hostess looked me up and down with visible disdain before seating us at a tiny two-top hidden in the very back of the restaurant BEHIND A TREE. As we walked through the restaurant, I also noticed the clientele became noticeably more diverse the farther back we went, which did not leave a great impression. Then after finally being seated, we waited ANOTHER 30 MINUTES before a server even greeted us. No water. No acknowledgment. Nothing. What appeared to be a manager walked throughout the section surveying tables and completely overlooked ours despite us sitting there with an empty table for an extended period of time. A competent manager should notice when guests have not been greeted and step in immediately. She never did that. Once the server finally arrived, we ordered drinks and attempted to salvage the evening. Later, when we only ordered an appetizer because we were primarily there for drinks, we were informed that the patio was "food service only" and that we would need to be closed out because there was a strict 90-minute table limit. That was especially frustrating considering it took the restaurant 30 minutes just to greet us. If you enforce strict table turnover policies, then timely service should be the bare minimum. Guests should not wait half an hour just to be acknowledged. That is not acceptable service by any industry standard. To top it off, the food runner practically slammed our appetizer onto the table and walked away. From beginning to end, this experience felt dismissive, hostile, and deeply uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, the treatment we received made us feel unwelcome in this establishment, and I will not be returning. read more

Once inside, the atmosphere is incredible, especially the back patio with its spectacular lighting. It can get a bit noisy due to the crowd, but that's part of its vibrant energy.
