So today I was in the mood for something "new" and since I didn't remember anything from Lawless, that qualified it as a new spot in my book. Now on to the good stuff! Great sub! I tried the Lawlinator (7 inch for 6.99). The sub has roast beef, turkey, cornbeef and salami! With your choice of cheese (provolone) on a delicious roll. So I may have not remembered much about Lawless last time I came but there's no way I'll forget it now. This may become my go to for a sub. Very filling, delicious and the price was right. Fantastic service and incredible subs. The owner made us a couple Lawlinators which is their spin on the traditional Italian. They were packed with meat and all the fixings at no additional charge. The rolls were fresh and fluffy and all of the toppings were so good and crisp. They have several types of peppers and sauces to choose from to load up your sandwich. I have passed by this place so many times and have always wondered if it was any good. Today, I went in and got the lawlinator. Let's me just say it was by far one of the best cold subs I have had in awhile. The staff there is very friendly and welcoming. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Can't go anywhere else and get quality at that speed. The inside definitely had a mom and pops appeal and was a little "outdated",but it's clearly because they're focus goes into their product and their product, doesn't disappoint. Fresh meat, warm fresh bread, Excellent service. The atmosphere reminds me a little of home because It's nice to walk into a (mom&pop)sub sandwich place and see a cooler with fresh meats and cheese, so you know meats and cheese are fresh. When it's on special ($8), you'll have a 7-inch chicken salad sub with all the fix in's, a drink and chips (in my case I go for the potato salad). side note: I add a tiny bit of salt to my potato salad. This locally owned and operated sandwich shop is located on the right side of 436 (Altamonte) if you've gotten off of the dreadful I-4 and heading west. Not a whole lot of decor, not a whole lot of pizzaz but just good ole fashioned good sammiches. On any given day, you'll see all kinds of city workers, lawyers, doctors, and different hard working folks stop in to refuel. I still am sticking with my 5-star review. I haven't been here lately, but my mother brought me some of Lawless' chicken salad this evening. I was TOTALLY surprised. I thought I'd recently heard that Lawless had closed ... and, after driving by it a few times, that definitely looked to be the case. I passed by it a few times on 436 and while en route to somewhere else and it didn't appear to be open. I assumed the worst. I told my mother a few days ago that I'd heard Lawless was closed, and she was very surprised. She didn't seem to think that was true, and she ultimately was correct. Now that I now it remains open, I hope to stop by in person sometime in the near future. For those who have yet to go in person, do not be dissuaded by the dark windows or if there are no cars parked out front; Lawless remains in business. This also is evidenced by some recent reviews from 2012. I may update my own after my next visit. As other reviewers have mentioned, this may not be the cleanest and most modern place, but the food and service, to me, always have been excellent. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has noticed how good Lawless' chicken salad is - other reviewers have specifically mentioned it, too. It's great. Lawless subs, have never heard of them until I founded on Yelp so I decided to come here one day. My subs was simple not huge but not to small, and I also order a drink. The sub was nothing specially as a matter of fact it was just to plain. The subs it self did not impress me and I would prefer other sub places to this but this was my first time here so I will come back again and give it another sub, I just think the sub did not have that much flavor to it like you do when you get one at Subway or Publix. I ordered a simple roast beef and turkey sub(see picture) with cheese and a few topings, the bread was not that great and the sandwich did not have that flavor of freshness you find in other places, I think that if people think this is the BEST subs around they are mistaking it wrong and I assure you this is not the best sub I have had. The staff was nice and the service was quick, I can tell there is a lot of originals in this location. As far as the ingredients being much better I do not agree to this and I think at Publix and Subway you get more choices on ingredients plus at Publix the meats are fresh and cut daily or you can have them cut it for you there and make a costume made sub, this place over all did not leave me impressed at all but it was not awful either. I will be back again and try something else, who knows maybe my opinion will change. read more

4 stars for a tasty toasty sub! Lawless subs is a fan favorite in my family. It's really a hidden gem in Altamonte Springs. If you like to support local small businesses and enjoy a good quality sub that are reasonably priced, this is the place to go! Originally owned by another shop owner, the sub shop has gone through a great improvement since Jeremy is now the owner. Improvements such as new paint throughout, new chalkboard menu, napkin dispensers on each table and the soda machine is always working (that's always a plus!) and probably things I hadn't noticed. The food is excellent, dare I say it's the best roast beef sub in town! And they make homemade horseradish, which goes perfectly. Also, the subs are toasted with the cheese melted and come with a pickle. They also have excellent salads, I usually get the homemade chicken salad and turkey salad with house dressing and the portion is quite large. Subs made of magic. I'm telling you, that has to be one of the most satisfying subs I've ever eaten. I got a 7" Italian Sub. Tell them what you want on it. You pay and receive your sub practically on your way out the door. It was fast. No line to be fair but quick. I was out of there in 5 minutes. It is rare to find a better sub than a Publix sub and this place has Publix beat by a landslide. The owner is so nice and seriously cranks out some of the best subs I've ever had. He is consistent, the food is always fresh, every slice of deli meat feels like it was sliced seconds before being placed on the sandwich (maybe it is??) I went to Lawless for the first time yesterday after my friend had told me dozens of times to go. Her favorite is the egg salad and she constantly craves it. But I got the pastrami, one of my favorite sandwiches. It was the best pastrami I've had in FL hands down. They make the pastrami, chicken salad, and some other things in house from my understanding. My boyfriend got the buffalo chicken which he also loved. We were so impressed we went back again today! I got the Ultimate Italian and he got the meatball. I already want to go again! The ingredients were so fresh, and the owner(s) are so nice that it makes me feel like I'm back home on Long Island. The prices are low but quality is high. ANYBODY who eats at Subway when you could go to Lawless is making a big mistake. Now Subway is safe and predictable, and its OK if there is nothing better around. I guess. But there IS something better. Much better! Better ingredients = better subs. Tasty, custom made sandwiches at reasonable prices in a clean place. What more do you want? OK, they make 'em fast, too. Ok being from the north I am a Roast Beef snob. I usually on get my roast beef subs from Publix, the Boars head is the closest I've come to good roast beef down here. So today I decided to try this place. I'm always hesitant about ordering Roast beef, but thought I'd give it a try. Loved it! It was perfect in my eyes, little bit of salt and pepper, some pickles, mayo and cheese. The Roast beef was cooked to perfection. Ot was red and juicy. Way better than any of the sub chains around. There was a ton of meat in my 7" sub, and with a drink it was less than $7.00. The store itself was pretty run down. But it didn't seem all that dirty, even being there after the lunch rush. I have been a loyal lawless subs fanatic for going on 10 years. Admittedly it had been a good six months since my last visit but I made my way there today and it was delicious as always. I had the Italian with everything on it. "Everything" consists of mayo, mustard, hot cherry peppers, pickles, lettuce, tomato,onion, oil, vinegar and seasonings. I also had it toasted which melded all of the deliciousness together and added a fantastic crispy dimension to their already outstanding home made bread. This sub was perfection! My fellow cohorts went for different varieties of their turkey subs which also had some great toppings and were equally yummy. Delicious!!! My husband and I went for lunch today and we split the Italian. The guy making the subs who I believe was also the owner was super friendly and asked if it was our first time in and let us know that their small sub was about 1lb of meat and the bigger one people typically split or took half home.... Since being purchased and taken over by Jeremy (the guy who always addresses you by name when you walk in), Lawless has improved significantly in quality and service. Whether I am in there once a week or once a month, these guys always seem to know my go to sandwich choices and preference of size, veggies and sauces. The store itself is located in a small shopping center just west of Checkers and Boston Market. While the interior is simple and dated, there are multiple tables and chairs providing a comfortable place to read the paper or chat with friends while attempting to finish one of these massive creations. Subs are served on some of the best tasting French baked rolls with classics such as roast beef, turkey, ham, and meatball. They also offer homemade chicken (personal favorite) and tuna salad, and occasionally, BBQ pulled pork. As if the sandwich itself was not enough, Lawless has a selection of potato/macaroni salads, soups, cookies and chips to accompany your sandwich. Each sub comes with a large sliced pickle. Stated simply, Jeremy and his sandwich artists are working hard to create delicious and customized homemade subs at an affordable price. This dedication to create a loyal customer base coupled with the homemade ingredients and excellent customer service provides a much welcomed and refreshing change to the standardized corporate structured sandwich shops that continue to emerge and dominate the Orlando landscape. Lawless Subs is a very reliable place to get a good sandwich or sub. I've had a hot sandwich once and a hot ham and cheese sub. The hot sandwich was a reuben on rye and it was delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly and the meats were great. The sub roll they put the hot ham and cheese sub on was outstanding. It's actually the perfect kind of sub roll: toasted, crispy, yet soft on the inside. I added peppers and hot sauce and it really gave it a great kick. The prices are very good. For a footlong sub, you actually get alot more cheese and meat than at Subway for the same prices. It both fills you up more and is alot tastier. Of course, Subway is absolutely terrible so I feel bad about even bringing it up but it's just to illustrate the point that you could be having actual good subs here instead of wasting your money on a processing plant like Subway. The only criticism I have so far is that the toppings should be in view so we can have an easier time deciding on toppings. But, they've had everything I've asked for so they're good in the actual topping availability department. The jalepeno peppers they put in my sub were a fantastic addition. read more
