When I walked into Lawless, my first thought was gross. This place LOOKS dirty. It is cluttered and there is random crap everywhere. We decided to stick it out. We went to the counter and asked what the most popular sub was. We settled on Hot Italians. The guy behind the counter said that people like that one the most. When the sub came out it was piping hot and there was a LOT of meat so points for that, but I found the sub bland and really not that great. The bread literally fell apart in my hand and there wasn't enough tasty stuff to bring out the flavors. I even got it with jalepenos and that wasn't enough to add any zing (there were like 3 of them on the whole sub). I didn't even finish it! This is really odd for me! I finish EVERYTHING! I brought the other half of my 7inch sub home but as it sits in the fridge I doubt I will eat it. Decided to check this place out when I found a BOGO coupon in the Entertainment Coupon Book, and I will definitely be returning. I had the chicken salad, as everyone here on Yelp suggested, and it was definitely the nummiest chicken salad I've had in the Orlando area. I've been known to decry Orlando's lack of real sub shops, so I was quite pleased to find this one. My boyfriend had the italian sub. Every time we go to any sandwich shop, he gets the Italian and he's almost always disappointed. He's been searching for the perfect Italian sub in Orlando for years, and I think he's finally found it. When I asked him to describe the sandwich he said: "It's very good. The meat is awesome. It slides down my throat with ease. Big and delicious." We did spend most of our meal discussing how we would redecorate and rebrand the shop, as we do at most local restaurants which completely lack any aesthetic value. read more

Definitely worth a return visit. I had never been here before, but ordered a couple of subs to go for lunch the other day. So here's where it stands, based on my 11-inch roast beef, ham, & turkey sub: It's a big sandwich. Lots of meat -- so much, in fact, that they had to just lay the cheese on top of the sandwich rather than in the folds of the bread, because it wouldn't all fit in there. It was very filling, and this made me happy. It's clearly better than Subway in every conceivable way (but that's to be expected because Subway is to sandwiches what McDonald's is to hamburgers). It's certainly a much better value than Jersey Mike's, a chain which seems to think that their sandwiches are so good (admittedly, they are good) that they can charge more for their 8-inch sub than Publix, Subway, or most other shops charge for a 12-inch. And JM subs aren't nearly as hefty. I'll say that I prefer Publix subs overall, but the differences in flavor and style are enough that I can easily see selecting one over the other based on my mood on any given day. Anyway, I'm not in this area much these days, but when I am I'm happy to have Lawless around. read more

What a find, I moved to the area a bit ago and had heard of this "Sub Shop" and how good it was. Let me tell you the rumors are true, Awesome! I was greeted by the owner and graciously invited to hang out while he helped my order through personally (old fashion service, ahhh!) The subs, fantastic! Freshly made roast beef, chicken salad that kicks, and a great vegetarian sub that was Uber-Fresh! Wonderful condiments and a really relaxed environment turned what normally is a fast, here,.. I was finally able to stop in to try this joint and I'm glad I did! They're only open until 3:00 pm most days so I can't get out during the week with my work schedule. But stopping in on a Saturday around 11:30 am was perfect and the bread was still warm! The service was fast and friendly, I couldn't be happier with it. The inside is simple and clean, your typical sub shop, which was exactly what I was expecting. I ended up getting two large sandwiches, one roast beef and one Italian. Sandwiches loaded with veggies and their potato salad and macaroni salad on the side it was a great lunch. The subs were packed full of meat, and I like how they sandwich your toppings between the meat and cheese to keep everything insides easier. The prices were comparable to other shops in the area including the sub chains. All in all, I would definitely come back or choose Lawless over another shop in that their quality and prices are as good or better than other shops and they're a local business, which I love to support! read more

Love this place! I'm so glad we tried it this weekend. As soon as we walked in we felt comfortable. I believe the owner served us. He saw that I was pregnant and knew the listeria concern with deli meat. I was craving an Italian, but those typically are only good cold (in my opinion). He said he could just heat the meat for me and I was so happy! Made me feel so much comfortable eating there. My sub was fantastic and I loved the hot peppers. I'm giving Lawless 5 stars for because they have awesome bread and because they always make a great sub. I've been going to Lawless since they opened, but that doesn't make me biased with my review. My favorite sub was the "not for the shy" (now called the Lawinator). because it was double stacked with every thing, however, I'm older now and have to watch my figure so I usually get a chicken salad sandwich or a ham and cheese. Lately I've been having the hotdogs they offer with the slaw, but I I prefer the subs because of the high quality of bread. I also prefer how the stack the meat on the sub bread because it doesn't slide out when you take a bite. Their salads are all good but the Tri salad is my favorite. You get some tomatoes, lettuce and tuna/chicken/egg salad. Though I really wish I could get spinach with my salad, but the owner has said it wilts quicker than lettuce. I have never had a bad meal here and they are always quick with their service. Prices are always good and you can eat here with out taking a hit on the wallet. I also like their cookies because they make them fresh daily. Free refills on drinks too. read more

Sure subway bakes their own bread in the stores, that doesn't make it good, just fresh. Lawless Subs starts with great bread, a French roll with the perfect crust. The salami tasted artisanal. Wow! I first visited Lawless Subs 5 days ago and today went for the 3rd time. For those like me who thought Jersey Mike's and Firehouse Subs were a step up from Subway, well take another giant step up and try independent Lawless Subs! I've tried 3 different items so far. The sub sandwiches on a French roll are filled with lean quality meats and cheeses and whatever veggies and toppings you like. The trio salad I had with a bed of lettuce and spinach covered with a scoop each of chicken salad, tuna salad and egg salad. At $6.50, what a bargain! My third try was a chef salad. Again, the lean quality beef, ham, Turkey and provolone with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and a whole egg topped with what tasted like home made dressing was outstanding! After seeing the 4 star review on Yelp, I decided to check this sub shop out. And I have to say I was not disappointed! I had a Reuben and was surprised with the amount of meat in a 7.5 inch! My only complaint is that they were shy on the sauce, and the bread was a little too crunchy for my taste. However I compare it to Subway. If you're going to get a 6 inch at Subway, go to Lawless Subs because they're bigger. If you're going to get an 11" at Lawless Subs, go to Subway, because they're cheaper and bigger. Ok, the sandwiches are very tasty. Better bread and quality ingredients than the standard chain sub shops. However, on my visit the place was so dirty that I seriously question the owner or managers cleaning practices and health standards. Visited when they first opened for the day, so there was no reason to find all the table tops dirty with crumbs and stickiness, plastic silverware and napkins and crumbs on the floor dropped under tables, and the soda fountain self-serve machine looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. I will give it one more try in case this was a fluke, but if the cleanliness is as awful, cannot bring myself to frequent it or recommend it. Also the discussion among staff was inappropriate and rude for customers to overhear - and unfit for children to hear. They happened to have bbq fritos (which is next to impossiable to find besides gas stations) glady took one and the guy offered a bogo deal.
