Average BBQ here! I had way better around town but this was my first time trying and wanted to see how they stack up against the rest! I got the 2 meat combo for $36 bucks For ribs and brisket they add a $2 dollar upcharge for both? Then a long beach 10.5% tax for $3.45 to take more $$ from the customer? Why? Expensive for only two meats. I still got the ribs and brisket. Ribs were good but brisket was not! I like BBQ with smoked favor and this is far from it. It also came with beans which was ok and mac was ok. The place is super nice with inside and outside seating! They also have a clean bathroom which is a bonus and TV's to watch sporting events. Parking is easy on a tuesday. The service was very nice and friendly. They will give you a free drink if leaving a yelp review so let them know. Sadly too many better BBQ spots around town to come back here. Food rating: BBQ Ribs 7.5\10 BBQ Beans 7.5\10 Mac and cheese 7.0\10 Brisket 6.0\10
With very few BBQ options in the city, I tried this spot located on 2nd street. Luckily I found parking easily. This was for a takeout order. As a 1st timer, I went with my favorite cut of meat, brisket. This has an upcharge as noted on the menu. I found the meat to be cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I even enjoyed the BBQ sauce as that can make or break a BBQ spot for me. The plate was serve with 2 sides. I went with the good old standbys, potato salad and coleslaw. They were both a bit different here, making it unique. I am not sure I loved either, but they were both good. Overall, I found it a bit expensive for the portion size. And...BBQ without cornbread as an offering was a bit weird to me. I would return based on flavor and quality.
8/10 Two Meat Platter - Brisket, Gochujang pork belly, Mac n Cheese, & Potato Fries. - The brisket was definitely the star of the show for me, super soft and easy to eat. The pork belly had a good flavor but it was pretty tough. I took one bite and ended up packing it up for my boyfriend's lunch the next day lol. The mac and cheese and fries were decent overall. 9/10 Wings - Gochujang sauce and Buffalo - The gochujang sauce was my favorite for sure. For the other half, we asked for it to come without sauce so we could dip the wings in whatever we wanted instead. Cost - Two Meat Platter $31.90, Wings $18.00. (Before taxes and tip).
BBQ is my thing! I'll never get bored of it! My bf asked me what I wanted to eat after our 5k and I said BBQ! After a few searches we came across RIBBRO BBq in Long Beach. We ordered the 2 meat combo that includes two sides. I was bumbed because they didn't have the 3 meat combo. I ordered brisket with pulled pork macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. My bf ordered brisket with sausage fries and the bbq beans. We also had an a la carte order of smoked chicken breast. It was nice that they had a different selection of sauces, a self serve bar with kimchi and pickles. Utensils, sauces and napkins were also available. I was hungry and was hopeful that this meal would satisfy my BBQ craving. Unfortunately, it didn't. I expected a smoky flavor on the proteins a nice bark on the brisket and it was far from that. It was lacking flavor. In order to taste flavor on the protein I was forced to dip it in the BBQ sauce. It was sad that I had to rely on the sauce for flavor. The Mac and cheese was too cheesy for my liking and the pasta was under cooked. American BBQ This is BBQ with an Asian twist. It was my first time trying RIBBRO BBQ and sadly it will be my last. I still have not found a good BBQ place in the LA area. I'm hopeful that I will.
We stopped by while walking up 2nd Street. A decent menu and average prices. We got the two meat platter with ribs and brisket. The ribs were delicious and cooked well. The brisket was tender and it was served in a pile. It could have come with a slice or two of bread. The two sides were Cole slaw and potato salad. The coleslaw was bland and the potato salad was tasty. We got a white wine and a refillable fountain drink. The wine was warm, it would have been better chilled. They have various sauces and pickles for toppings at the condiment bar. Kind of like a Korean flare to it. They have 4 large flat screen televisions on the walls playing the All Star game.
My wife and I came here for the first time and truly enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. Early in the evening and the weather is great. The service was perfect the food was awesome the portions were definitely worth the price! All the way around truly in five star experience. Thank you so much! We will be back.
Every dish was amazing and the service was a great balance of friendly and attentive. We tried the brisket and pork ribs, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and peach cobbler right out of the oven and topped with vanilla ice cream. The meats were smoky, sweet and very tender. The sides were all house made and flavorful. Sliced almonds on the coleslaw gave it a nice crunch. I'll be visiting again to try more of the menu! The Long Beach location has a nice ocean breeze and was super clean and welcoming. They are also located in Lake Forest and Newport Beach.
Food 4/5: Ordered the two meat combo, had the ribs and burnt ends. The ribs were tender and slightly sweeten. Great tasty flavor, no additional sauces needed. The burnt ends were also great, reminded me of pork belly from a kbbq spot. The rice was a bit lacking but overall the order was great. Bbq beans, was perfectly flavored, not too sweet. Add some soju and you have a great meal! Service 4/5: Staff was nice and quick. Ambiance 4/5: Nice spot on 2nd steet. Decent seating, nice clean decor.
Nice little spot for some different style BBQ. The atmosphere is very relaxed with tvs to watch sports. They offer beer and wine if you want it. Service was really good too. The style of the dinner is more of that old style burger joint or pizza by the slice type Places. You order up at the counter. Their menu is HUGE! Ordered the brisket songs sandwich, two meat combo with brisket and gochogang pork, and the loaded Mac n cheese with pulled pork. The food was all good. The pulled pork was delicious, the gochugang pork was like meat candy, and the Mac n cheese was fantastic. The sides were good too. The coleslaw was different and really good. Onion rings great, and the potato salad was a different style too. My two complaints about the experience was that the baked beans or BBQ beans were underdone and crunchy. The bbq sauces were just ok. The biggest issue was that the brisket was way overcooked. It was very tender to the point that it was mushy and hard to eat without it crumbling apart. The flavor was good though especially with some bbq sauce. They claim they are a Texas bbq. It's certainly a different style Of Texas Bbq. As I've never seen a Texas bbq place offer radish kimchi, or pickled radish. That said they were both absolutely delicious. If you stop in here you HAVE to get the loaded Mac, or get the rice bowl with pulled pork and that radish kimchi!
Interesting establishment. It's kind of asian/bbq fusion. Small and cozy vibe. They have ribs, brisket, pulled pork along with Kimchi and fried rice. They also offer beer and wine. We ordered the 2 meat special (pork ribs, pulled pork, coleslaw, potato salad)Z they have bbq sauces (spicy and mild), dill pickle slices, jalapeno and kimchi. My fav was the potato salad. The wine, not so much as it was warm but hey it's a bbq restaurant so can't complain. Will we return, probably not. It's a one and done. But overall I'd give it a 3.8 and may stop again if in the area.
Exceptional BBQ! Order at the counter and the staff delivers to the table. The 3 slider with 2 sides was perfect. We also ordered a platter that had two kinds of meat, brisket and pork. The MacNCheese and Coke slaw are yummy options. We love this place and will come back, and we will recommend to our friends.

Hands down, best BBQ that I have had. We finished kayaking through the Naples Canals in Long Beach and stumbled upon this BBQ joint. While the dining room is quite small, and probably only holds 30 people, it was fine for the 7 of us since we came a little after the lunch rush on a Tuesday. We did the sampler which allowed us to try all of their meats. Not a single one disappointed, but my favorites were the smoked ribs, sausage and brisket. Their loaded Mac n cheese had a nice twist with the crunchy bits on top. The smoked chicken wings with the fusion gochugang BBQ sauce was amazing. Service from the host was great and he gave good recommendations so we really appreciated it since it was our first time. Even though this place is quite a drive for us, we will definitely be back! This is our first visit and we loved the place! We have been looking for a bbq place here in Long Beach since JR's took a down turn.. Found it! I had the pork ribs and my wife had the brisket.. she said that it was the best brisket ever! The secret bbq sauce was delightful and accents the ribs flavor. Would recommend checking out this place if you love bbq. We got the loaded friends, 2 meat plate and small rib and it was a good amount of food for 3 people. The flavors were good and meats were soft. read more

I'm not sure what this is but it's not pulled chicken as indicated on the menu... it's slimy and doesn't pull apart easily. Maybe some of the other options are better on the menu but wouldn't order this ever again. read more

Heard great things about this spot and I am happy to say it did not disappoint! For my first time dine in experience I ordered the BBQ Bowl with Brisket as my choice of meat. The brisket was tender and well flavored. The bowl was delicious- filled with bbq beans, salad, rice, tomatoes, cranberries, and nuts. Bbq sauce options and assorted pickle veggies were unlimited and self serve which is great! Service was friendly and welcoming. Interior is simple yet charming. Self serve area was clean and tidy. Overall great experience! Can't wait to come back and try more off the menu. read more

I dunno how I didn't know this place was here. I can't wait to come back! Stopped in today for a BBQ Brisket Salad for lunch. The brisket is on point! Smokey and delicious, super tender. 13 hours on the smoker, I was told by the owner. I've been to Austin and eaten at the masters tables... This BBQ is top notch. Aaron Franklin himself would be proud and leave full but wanting more. I was sad when my brisket was finished. Extensive BBQ menu, brisket, chicken, sausages, ribs, pork, lots of sides and fixin's, Happy Hour 2-5 every day. A few nice beers on tap that I'll try on future visits. Even a Portobello sandwich for the Veggie types out there. I'll be back!! In fact, who needs a kitchen anymore? read more

First and foremost let me just say that the hospitality was A1 and they had the food to back it up!! When I say you can't go wrong with their food I absolutely mean it. Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their entrees. I ordered the one meat (ribs) with seasoned rice and potato salad. The ribs were actually smoked!! Yes it had the pink rings around the meat as proof and the taste was phenomenal!!! The meat was flavorful and it was moist!! The rice was seasoned well. The burnt rib tips were juicy and smoky. The staff and o believe the owner were really sweet and welcoming. We will be coming back. It's hard to find real bbq and smoked at that that taste amazing. This is the spot!!! read more

I truly enjoyed my experience at RIBBRO Long Beach. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and seen. James and Jay made all the difference they were kind, patient, and genuinely accommodating. They didn't just take my order; they made sure I was comfortable and cared for, and that meant a lot to me. The food was amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The meats were tender, juicy, and full of that deep, smoky BBQ flavor you hope for but don't always get. The ribs were perfect, the brisket was on point, and the sausage had great flavor. The sides were just as good especially the beans and potato salad. You can tell the food is made with intention and pride. This place isn't just about good BBQ it's about good people. I left feeling full, satisfied, and appreciated. RIBBRO Long Beach is a place where you feel like you matter, and that's something special. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it. 4 stars This restaurant is located on 2nd Street and a couple blocks away from Rosie's Dog Beach, which is super convenient for all the beachgoers and their pooches. It's dog-friendly like a lot of other restaurants on 2nd Street. I think this might be the only BBQ place on the street and I think it's pretty decent. This is what I got: 2 Meat Plate w/ 2 sides ($25.90): St. Louis-style pork ribs & beef brisket. As someone who can't handle anything too salty, I thought the ribs and beef brisket was perfect for me. The fall-off-the-bone ribs went well with the bbq sauce they have available. The beef brisket was tender - I didn't have tough parts like other Yelpers have mentioned in their reviews. And because it wasn't overly salty, my dog got to eat some (a lot actually) lol. Me and my dog approve! 5/5 stars. Sides (Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw): Like others have pointed out, the Mac & Cheese is problematic. The shells I got were hard, but, I thought their cheese sauce was perfect for me - not too goopy or thick or too salty. As for the coleslaw, I was not a fan. I think I thought it would either be an American-style coleslaw where it would have been marinated overnight or like a Korean-style slaw where the vegetables would have been shredded paperthin w/ dressing on top. 2.5/5 stars My dog and I liked the meal and I think the food was worth it. The ribs were my favorite! I highly recommend getting that. Will be back the next time I bring my dog to Rosie's. read more

This place is honestly kind of hilarious. I've ordered from here around 10 times now roughly 5 lunches and 5 dinners. At first I thought I was imagining things, but the pattern becomes too consistent to ignore. Dinner is almost always great. The meat is fresh, juicy, and exactly what you'd expect from good BBQ. Lunch, on the other hand, is a completely different story. The meat is dry, tough, and tastes like it was sitting around overnight. At this point, I've come to one conclusion: you make a fresh batch for dinner, then whatever doesn't sell gets served the next day at lunch. Is that what's going on? Today's order was the worst one yet. Just look at this brisket. It looks dry, overcooked, and nothing like what I get during dinner service. The difference between lunch and dinner quality is so noticeable that it feels like I'm ordering from two different restaurants. If you want good BBQ, order at dinner. If you're ordering lunch, be prepared for LEFTOVERS. read more

Where do I begin? Do I tell you this is the first "authentic" BBQ spot I've found in LB, despite it being a fusion with Korean flavor? 'cause it is. Nothing is dry. Nothing is bland. Portions are appropriate for the price point. It's served with hospitality, kindness, and plenty of sauces for you to choose from. Their brisket plate wasn't even capable of being photographed because my SO scarfed it down. The beans... My god. So good. The wingies. They're comforting with a lil kick but nothing that'll clear your plumbing if you're capable of taking a lil heat. The ramen fried rice caught my attention. It's a hearty lil mound of deliciousness stacked with rice, noods, some pork, and a sauce that wraps it all together with a spicy kiss. You get umami, spicy, salty, savory, all in one... And white kimchi for gut health as well as palate cleansing! The soju cocktail, it's sneaky, and pretty. I'd pace yourself if you're a lightweight. Customer service here is top-tier. From asking to ensure allergies. A free coffee sign. Wifi mentioned. But realistically, they want this place to be a cozy spot you come to be. Ribbro, *tips hat* we will be back. read more

3.5* Saw this place while walking around in LB and since i havent had bbq in awhile we were excited to try it! Its a small but spacious place with an open concept for people watching or hanging out outside. The guy who helped us was very kind and welcoming! We both got the brisket plate & i think its great you can get lean or fatty (we got a mix). It was VERY tender but kinda dry too. I got beans and fries as a side and the fries were awesome! The beans coulda been cooked a bit longer cuz some were still crunchy. My husband got slaw and potato salad as his sides. He really enjoyed the slaw but the potato salad's flavor was a bit more subtle. The disappointment was the cornbread. It weirdly lacked flavor and i very much dislike corn in my cornbread tho i know some do! I shouldve asked but it didnt even occur to me since it was listed as a dessert. On their outside menu i saw loaded cornbread which i wanted to try but i didnt see it on the menu inside I like that they have sauces available on the side - original bbq, spicy, mustard base, ketchup, etc as well as napkins and finger wipes! The bathroom is clean. They have a bunch of options but not sure if i would be back...or maybe not anytime soon. read more

First time at RIBBRO. I have heard so many great things about the food here. Completely agree! Ordered an Original BBQ Brisket sandwich to go. The bun was stuffed with diced up meat. Messy but tasty! Definitely a fork type of sandwich. Bun was fresh and soft. Definitely excited to come back and try other meats! Service was friendly and helpful. My order came out quickly too. Glad we have this new BBQ restaurant on 2nd Street. Great addition! Very casual place for take out or dine in. read more
