It has been a while since we are here. we were in the mood for bbq , so visited on a Sunday. Sat in the patio area because we had our dog. Although we were the only ones on the patio, it was spacious and hard lots of covered seating to keep from summer heat. They do require you to give them your driver license to sit in the patio ( we understand why lol) Our server was very friendly and helpful. I originally ordered the bbq nachos and he said the portion for the one on the menu is meant for 2 people and offered a smaller one ( half the price). So glad he did because the half one was plenty. I rather enjoyed the nacho , comes with brisket ( very tasty and tender meat). Fiancé ordered the St Louise rib n meat. He picked brisket as his 2nd meat and his choice of side was Mac n cheese and coleslaw. I didn't try his order, but he said it was all delicious. Disappointing Visit--Declined Over the Years I haven't been to Famous Dave's in Long Beach in years and, unfortunately, I won't be returning. The overall quality has declined. Service was just okay, but the biggest issues were with the restaurant itself: tables are peeling and the bathroom was filthy with broken seats and doors. We ordered wings, which were fine but came with just two sad pieces of celery. I regret ordering the burnt ends combo. While the meat had decent flavor, it was way too fatty, and all the sides were disappointing. The mac and cheese tasted oddly sweet, almost like it was mixed with potato salad. The corn muffin was dry, the fries were bland and seemed old and refried, and the slice of white bread with the combo was toasted so hard it was basically stale. Paying $70 (including tip) for this meal felt like a slap in the face. It's a shame, this used to be one of my favorite spots, but I'll be taking it off my list. read more

I would ask other servers for help and they said they would let our server know. 4. Food Quality is lacking. Ribs and brisket were dry as if they were leftovers. Dave's BBQ is located on Pine St at the Shoreline Village, Came here for Lunch. The bad: We were served day-old ribs; they were hard and tough to chew. Not fresh. Serving day-old ribs is not good business. They attempted to reassure us they were fresh, but it was not true. We are not a BBQ expert but we know fresh meat when we have some. I came here for the first time since I had a coupon for it and figured I would give it a try. I found the food to be just ok, decent but nothing special. For the coupon price it was worth it, but I definitely wouldn't want to pay full price. But I will say our server Mario was wonderful. He really made my boyfriend and I feel welcome and taken care of. The restaurant itself has nice decor that fit the BBQ theme and it was definitely nice to sit in the AC on a hot day. My family and I visited "Famous Dave's" at Shoreline Village in Long Beach, CA for Father's Day 2026. There was only a 30 minute wait which was not bad for Father's Day. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. There was a longer wait than usual to get our food but it was very good and fresh once we received it. The six of us were pleased with our food. We had ribs, fried chicken, brisket, catfish tacos, burgers, chicken tenders & more. Parking is plentiful. There is a large parking structure, valet parking and metered street parking. Please keep in mind that Shoreline Village gets busy during the summer, weekends and holidays. If you having a craving for some good food, I recommend this restaurant. As a bonus, there is retail shopping available in the Village area, kiosk booths & across from the restaurant at the Pike. There is also a variety of other restaurants, an aquarium, harbor cruises, swan boats, a movie and comedy theater & more in the shoreline area. It's a great place for dates and family time. For the entire Summer, there is a great DJ in the Village area from 1:00PM to 5:00PM just in case you want to get your boogie on and burn off some calories from all the good food. read more

Our experience was extremely disappointing. We were seated and waited for over 30 minutes without anyone coming to our table to greet us, take our order, or even offer us water. I eventually got up and asked if someone was going to serve us. The employee told me that the server was busy and that we would have to keep waiting. I politely asked if there was only one server assigned to each section because I was simply trying to understand the situation. Instead of answering professionally, she rolled her eyes at me and responded in a rude tone. There was absolutely no reason for that, as I asked my question respectfully. The most frustrating part is that even after that conversation, no one ever came to our table. We ended up leaving without receiving any service. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but there is no excuse for completely ignoring guests or treating them disrespectfully. Initially we were looking for Yard House but it seemed to be further down and we were hungry so we settled for this restaurant. It was a good decision because everything on the platter was so good. It says the platter feeds 2-3 people but we had a lot of left over to feed two more people. The platter had corn, beans, cornbread, fries, chicken, ribs, coleslaw and brisket. The cole slaw was OK, the baked beans were good, the steak fries were excellent, and our friend really liked the sweet corn on the cob. Absolutely the worst experience. As avid restaurant eaters, we go out 1-2 times a week regularly. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I have had anywhere in the US. We arrived at 3:30pm for our reservation. Only thing is, whoever picked up the phone on August 13 at 6:22pm and took our reservation for a 9 person birthday party decided not to actually record the reservation. No apologies from the staff, the manager didn't have anything apologetic to say either, nor did he seem to care that he was bothered with his staff's incompetence. We weren't seated until after 4pm. When we were seated, it took over 20 minutes to be greeted and to put in our drink order. It took another 20+ minutes to track down the waiter and put in our food order. When we asked why our drinks had not come to the table yet, the waiter told us he was the only server on staff that day. However, there was a manager on site that didn't do anything helpful until it came time to deliver the food to the table, at which time he delivered one of the plates. When the food came out, some people had to send it back because it was- shocker- cold. Did they remake the cold items? No. They put them in the microwave. It was an absolutely terrible experience. I don't think I've ever done a one star review but honestly the one star was more than they deserved. read more

Pretty good barbecue! We ordered several combo platters, sampling through a variety of meats. The Spareribs and Brisket were very flavorful and satisfying - but if I had to nitpick, the 'cue could've been just a bit more tender - the texture was just a shade off of the true "gold standard" sort of barbecue that I've had in the past. Advertisement's on TV are great to get you in the door, but they surprise you with reality once you are seated in the restaurant. It has been many years since we have ever eaten at a famous Dave's, but currently they are running TV spots on a promotion for unlimited chicken wings and ribs. But what we found out is the ad should say Ribs and unlimited chicken wings. It was a great deal overall, so still no complaints. We went during lunch and we received excellent service. I HOPE CORPORATE GETS WIND OF THIS REVIEW!!! This is the Long Beach on Pine establishment to be clear. I would like to give this place a negative starts. To say service is very poor would be understatement. Arrived on Saturday and sat at open seating in the bar area at a table. After waiting over 30 minutes (and just observing the lady that was working the section socializing with guest like she could care less about helping take my order). So after waiting and watching the two lady bar servers continue to have extended conversations and pretty much ignoring myself and my guest...I walked to the bar and asked the bartender if anyone was taking orders in the open seating indoor area that we were sitting at. The bartender told me that the ladies working the section had to help wash dishes and basically unable to take myself and my guest orders. We ended up walking out and went to a neighboring restaurant along the waterfront strip. How hard would have it had been to take a couple of orders or at the very least say "Hello" or "Give us a minute we are a little busy". Don't keep talking to your favorite customers and continue to walk by myself and my guest without saying something. The whole vibe seemed like the moral at this establishment with this shift is very low. Teach your servers to engage with all guest instead of have social hour during their shift...at the bare minimum again, a simple "hello" or "I'll help you in a moment" This happened on Saturday 02/28/2026 from 4pm through 4:35 pm (if management wants to look at the cameras and see just how disengaged the staff was during this shift). read more

I was so excited they reopened Dave's in Long Beach, about 15 yrs ago this was my go to spot on Wednesday nights for their rib tip specials at the bar. When it changed to a different brand the food decline was awful. So seeing the Dave's sign gave me hope again. But alas this Dave's didn't hit the mark of Dave's of the past! Now could it be I went during their last hour open the day before Mother's Day, maybe but to have over seven of my rib tip platter hard inedible tips that I can't chew is a chef (Q'er) that doesn't care or they knew they were serving unpalatable quality food. Either way I am not even sure I'd go back to give them a second chance after Mother's Day weekend. I only took a picture of the inedible portion of my meal which was about half of the meat. The corn bears muffin was tasty the fries I have always enjoyed and I tested the coleslaw which was surprisingly good. But since they specialize in ribs they are supposed to be the focal point , so please FOCUS on the rib. They should have to be flawless. I will go to a rib joint and accept bad sides or other meat but I can't fathom paying for bad ribs cause they have say good Mac n cheese or beans. Jorge was our server, and unfortunately, his service wasn't any better. We've eaten here before. We're not new, and we know what the food is supposed to taste like. The mac n' cheese was mushy and missing both the jalapeños and the corn. Jorge tried to explain it away like we wouldn't recognize those ingredients. He did attempt to make it right by bringing out two sides -- after we had already asked for a box -- but by that point it was too late. And honestly, when a guest is visibly unhappy, bringing more food doesn't exactly build confidence. Overall: Boooo. Only bright spot of the night?
