We came here for my brother's birthday and the steaks we got were absolutely delicious! We had a big spread that consisted of; A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Carpaccio- This was pretty good! The beef melts in your mouth and you literally do not have to chew. There were tart elements to it due to the pickled veggies for the toppings. The acidic taste from the veggies really brought out the beef flavor of the wagyu. Roasted Bone Marrow- super buttery, when eaten with the toast, with a drizzle of lemon curd and chimichurri, the bone marrow itself really had an elevated flavor. Pan Roasted Foraged Mushrooms- this dish was decent. The herbs used when roasting the mushrooms had an earthy aroma that really brought out the natural umami and sweetness that the mushrooms had. Tomahawk ribeye- we had this made medium rare, and it was by far one of the most tender, yet, excellently seared crusts I've had on a steak! It came with 3 seasoning salts, regular, volcanic, and I believe sea salt. I've never had volcanic salt before so I didn't know what to expect, but it blew me away! LB Steak is located in City Center Bishop Ranch and offers Happy Hour from 4-6PM Monday through Fridays. We decided to come here around 5:40pm on Friday for happy hour. It was fairly busy but luckily we found the last available seating at the bar. The bartender very promptly greeted us and handed us the menus. For happy hour, the menu consists of shrimp cocktail, fritto misto, poutine, raw oysters, and wagyu burger. We ordered everything except for the raw oysters. The cocktails were all around $10 and we got the Blueberry Mojito and Can I Get a Second One. The Wagyu burger is such a good value for only $10 (or $11-$12 if you add cheese or bacon for a dollar each). The burger is huge and comes with lots of fries. We had reservations for 3 at 4:30pm and were seated right on the dot. Our server Kylie (which happens to also be a bartender) was awesome! She was very attentive and knew the menu well. We started off with the pork belly for appetizers and when she seen that we weren't loving it, she was quick to ask if we wanted to try a different appetizer. She recommended the bone marrow, which we loved. Came here for HH to try this place out and we were pleasantly surprised. There is a decent happy hour menu from 4-6. But of course, that's how they entice you to order more, which we did, and I'm so glad we did! The oysters we had tasted very clean and bland -some people like this, and some people prefer them to have more substance. I wasn't a huge fan of their beef tartare, it wasn't bad at all! I just didn't personally love it. Same with the hh wings. They weren't very exciting and was a bit on the dryer side. Wagyu burger I heard was a hit and it also came with the a generous portion of fries. Tater tots were also delicious. The hh drinks on the other hand, were tasty and strong and I would recommend trying. The restaurant and bar are gorgeous and swanky. Somewhere I'd want to dress up to. Amazing steakhouse with an upscale ambiance. Came here for a birthday lunch with reservations and our server Andrea was fantastic. We got to order from both their brunch and all day menu. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 3pm. A breakdown of what we ordered: Food: Tomahawk Rib Eye For Two - The show stopper dish of LB Steak so we had to order it. Our server let us know the approximate wait time depending on the preferred doneness, of which we waited about 40 minutes for medium. This 48oz steak came with roasted veggies, four different finishing salts, and four sauces. My favorites were the chili garlic crisp salt (reminiscent of LGM chili crisp!) and the bearnaise sauce. The steak had a good balance of fat, a lot of which was still attached to the bone. This can honestly feed three to four people. Steak and Eggs - Opted for the 14oz boneless ribeye and this was such an indulgent brunch entrée! The fat content was HIGH, making the cut super tender and juicy. This is served with the crispiest tater tots and two sunny side up eggs. Frito Misto - The batter is thin, perfectly crispy, and nicely seasoned. The green goddess dressing is light in flavor. Pan Roasted Foraged Mushrooms - If you're a mushroom lover, you must get this! The variety in this is so buttery and delicious. Chocolate Molten Cake - Complimentary birthday dessert! It's more like a mousse than a cake. It also comes with ice cream and berries. Drinks: Not-So Prickly Margarita - One of their three mocktails, this is made with Ritual zero proof "tequila". Happy Hour Highlight (and then some). Since the pandemic, so much has changed and I honestly really miss a good happy hour deal. *Dramatically insert LB Steak to the happy hour list* Believe it or not, they have a steal of a happy hour menu, especially when it comes to food. Don't let it being a steakhouse in a pretty well off area scare you. That was me originally and now I just show up in jeans and a sweatshirt, sit at the bar, and have the best bartenders in the world that makes the experience so great. General information - easier to just head straight to the parking lot and find a spot there instead of on the ground floor. Head inside the restaurant and let the hostess know you're there for the bar. Great for MNF. There are two tvs and any of of the bar spots or table tops are considered bar seating. Believe it or not, it is also great for groups, too! Happy hour is Mon-Friday from 4-6pm. The place is pretty empty during the start of happy hour. It seems most diners are there for HH, at least what I have observed during my few occasions there. Food options are fantastic for the price and the portion- order right from the bartenders. Shrimp cocktail (8): Cold appetizer, comes with 3 large pieces of shrimp. It was okay. You won't be missing out if you skipped this. Fritto misto (6): Comes with calamari, prawns, shishito peppers, and green goddess sauce. It wasn't bad, but I wished the breading was lighter and fried slightly longer. I found that it got soggy pretty quickly. House raw oysters on the half shelf (10.5): Can't go wrong with an order of hh oysters. Waygu burger (10): This is the best deal for your money here. You can add cheese and/or bacon for an additional $1 each and it is cooked perfectly. Beef to bread ratio is just right and the side of crispy fries lightly salted. Haha as I write this, I realized that I have basically ordered every food item that has been on this menu. The tater tots were okay. The cheese got hard quick and the tots weren't as crispy as I hoped. The KFC wings were fried wings covered in a promise of sweet and spicy sauce. Slight kick, but not really there. The drinks on the menu did not excite me, so I skipped those. However, there the barrels that caught my eye right behind the bar. There was a vanilla bean old fashion and a rye old fashion are both absolutely delicious. Now this is a full bar with bartenders that know how to make drinks and actually takes the to craft. I happily pay full price for my cocktails knowing that they are crafted well. They do have seasonal cocktail menu that change from time to time. Very impressed by their bar and I'm always looking for an opportunity to come back. You can order from the full menu at the bar, as well. I have also had the pleasure to try the seared pork belly appetizer that comes with an delicious fried egg to top. Grilled spanish octopus was tender and charred perfectly. I love a delicious caesar salad. They use whole lettuce leaves, but also, whole anchovies are key. I was slightly disappoint by my 35 day aged boneless ribeye. Although the sear and seasoning was on point, I found the meat to be quite dry and it was medium when I asked for medium rare. I wanted to enjoy my time and didn't freight over it too much. That also didn't stop me from coming back because I opted for the New York the next time around, which was cooked much better. I have had the pork chops which were super tender and the braised beef cheeks, which were absolutely chefs kiss. Toped with their wild mushrooms, all it needed was a bit more pasta. Came here for me nephews tenth birthday because he wanted a place with bone marrow for his birthday (future Yelp Elite I'm sure). It's conveniently located in Bishop Ranch across from the Rolex store. I like how it has a classic steakhouse vibe but just a little friendlier, more modern, and refreshing. The service was spectacular from beginning to end and I wish I caught the servers name because was excellent! So was so patient with us. She gave us so many great suggestions when it came to cocktail and wine and was super attentive. We started off with bone marrow and a seafood tower. Def spent a pretty penny on dinner but we really enjoyed it all! The seafood was fresh and the crab dip/mixture they had was fire! Lobster was tasty with plenty of meat. Oysters were fresh and shrimp were tasty. For entrees we all shared scallops, tomahawk, and pork chop. Everything was cooked well and I like how the tomahawk was served with 3 different salts, grilled onions, and a few shishito peppers. My brother in law got the pork chop and WOW!! I don't ever order pork at restaurants but it was delicious. It was HUGE and so juicy and flavorful. I'm still thinking about it 2 days later. For dessert we ordered one of each (it's my family's favorite thing to do) and they arranged it so beautifully. Out if the lava cake, fried banana, crème brûlée I would say crème brûlée is a must and you can skip the bread pudding if you had to leave one. I honestly was trying hard to not give this place a bad review because the service is excellent and the food tastes pretty good. However, I must say that the 14 oz. Rib eye was a total rip off. It was definitely not 14 oz as it was cut paper thin and over cooked. The meat was tough too. I can easily get prime or even a choice cut of steak at Costco that'll be way better quality. We went here for their happy hour. The restaurant is located at the City Center shopping center so there are plenty of parking and convenient. We sat at the bar area since we came for happy hour. The restaurant is clean , well lit, and ambiance is elegant especially in the main dining area. Service was great our server was attentive. We ordered The oysters 3/5-oysters were good I forgot what type of oysters but they were mixed of fresh and some not so fresh oysters but overall ok. Calamari 4/5 - yummy and the batter was great perfectly fried calamari and loved the texture and the dipping sauce Wedge salad 4/5 - we split the salad so don't be fooled by the photo thats just half. The lettuce was fresh with the creamy blue cheese and dressing. It was refreshing. Pork Belly 4/5- i love pork belly and this was really good. Cooked to perfection with fried egg on top. It was heaven in my mouth for every bite. Too bad the serving was very tiny, Wagyu burger 4/5 - for the price and the size of the burger with fries during happy hour you can't skip this. The burger was good and filling but slightly dry and overcooked. Korean wings 4/5 - the flavor of the chicken was great but the chicken seemed to be dry or overcooked. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was just amazing *Bone marrow - very good and unique flavor *Rib Eye *Aged rib eye I've never had aged rib eye so we decided to do a side by side of the regular and aged rib eye to see the difference! And there definitely was a difference. I've been here 4 times since they opened at City Center. I've tried a variety of dishes from their starters to their main, sides, and even special items. Like yesterday, for Christmas Eve. In the past, most items were on par. Since I hadn't been to LB since Father's Day this year, I was really looking forward to my meal, spending it with my daughter before we did some shopping for her. Unfortunately, the overall experience, particularly the food, was meh....at best. Needless to say that I was disappointed with how cold the sweet potato was. It was the tastiest item on the platter, next to the lobster, even outshining the bone in short rib, which was supposed to be the star of the show here. Sadly, it wasn't. Not even close. The meat was piping hot, but as soon as I cut into it, immediately pink juices filled the woodboard. I know it's difficult to cook such a huge piece of meat. But to advertise as being sous vide for 48 hrs, I was expecting a certain level on tenderness, flavor, and fire to the beef. Every bite was just too rare, bland, and just....tasteless Finally asking for some sauce that didn't come with the platter. It enhanced the experience a bit, but the chewy (rare) unaeasoned meat was just killing my appetite. To think, my DD was wanting chicken as I advised her not to as we were in a steakhouse after all. Maybe...she knew something I didn't. I will say...The lobster tail was nicely cooked. But that was about it. Nothing special to write home about. The decor is what draws me into LB. Love the ambiance. It's too bad that the food was lacking that we didn't even bother staying for dessert, which we usually do. Not sure if I'll visit again anytime soon. Must try: Vanilla bourbon barrel French toast!! Delicious with some Berry compote, complemented with lavender cream. Pretty good (and filling): Crab cake benedict and Fancy toast with sunny side up eggs, the combination worked perfect on the avocado toast, especially with the dried tomato tapenade. I ordered LB's tomahawk 3 different times and only once it came out right. Next time I will stick to other steaks. Their seafood and appetizers are on point. So good even my kids can't stop eating. Shoutout to our server, Caroline! She surprised my son with this gorgeous dessert platter for his birthday. It was completely devoured (the lava cake was delicious). And another shoutout to the manager (didn't get his name) but my dad was feeling lite headed from low blood sugar so I asked for a glass of coke, he made it happen so fast. We found ourselves in the City Center on a busy Friday night without the kiddos. So thought we might hop over to LB for a bite. The place was unusually busy tonight and they weren't able to sit us within 30 minutes or so. We were both pretty hungry so decided to just eat somewhere and come back for desserts and drinks. Got back here around 8:30ish and got a perfect spot outside at a firepit. The night was cool and was a great spot to people watch. The hostess was super nice and got us sat. Side note - dang she was tall! So we got sat and a first server came by and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. I told her we'll just do still, thinking she would come out with a couple glasses of water. Nope. She came out with a friggin glass bottle of Evian and before I noticed she had already cracked it open. Geezus. Me and the wife were super casual tonight and we are the opposite of someone who would want or need some Evian. This left such a bad taste in my mouth. Yeah, it's only $8 (for water that's just dumb) but it's just the principle of it all. She could have said, "hello, can I get you still, sparkling, or just regular water?" We ended up grabbing some liquor and shared a creme brule, which was super super good. Haven't had one in ages. The other servers were great as well. LB Steak is located in the Bishop Ranch center off of Bollinger in San Ramon. They are located towards the end of the shopping center, where during winter, the ice skating rink is, and across from the never opening Dumpling place. It's just a few stores down from the cupcake ATM, and also just by the entrance to the parking garage. First off, this place is very nice from a decor perspective. It's meant to be a fancy place, so when you drop by here, just be aware it's not a place you just drop into on a whim, though, it does provide some casual dining experience menu items/options as well, but the vast majority of the menu will be more closer to fine dining more than anything. You can also tell this by how nice all of the staff are dressed too. Pricing wise, as mentioned before, this place is going to be a bit pricier. Then again, everything in Bishop Ranch is pricier, so a steakhouse will certainly be expected to be on par from that perspective. There's plenty of other eateries to choose from at Bishop Ranch, so you would come to LB Steak if you're specifically looking for a less casual meal. There's some more reasonable items, but you're still going to be spending more if you were to go to Marugame, or the place next door, but neither of those are really on the fancier side. Might be better to come down if you're planning for a nice evening out. Though, I do have to say the wine prices are kind of a lot more than I had hoped for, but at least they have some nice wines on the wine menu. Service here was great, no arguments there. Our server in particular was very friendly. When we get to the food, this is where it was rather hit or miss, unfortunately. We started out with a mac and cheese for the little one, and when it got to our table it wasn't even hot, and barely even lukewarm, which for mac and cheese, is kind of gross because it's basically chunky cheese rather than what mac and cheese is supposed to be like. Although it was bad, it was for the little one, so we just acquiesced to the situation. A couple of us tried it too to see if it was true, and it was. The caesar salad was nice, and also interesting. They basically give you the whole leaf, properly cleaned, with some crunchy and nice cruton slices, and it all went really well together. Only minor complaint was that it could have been dressed more, as the dressing was very delicious, but there wasn't quite enough dressing on it. Again, was delicious, just not enough dressing. Just note, you will need to cut down the leaf yourself, but it's nice and crisp, so not too bad. Let's move to the sides. Truffle fries and a Lobster Mac and Cheese. Truffle fries was pretty good. Fries were nice and crispy, and the flavoring was good, but wish the sauce it included wasn't just a "fancy" ketchup. Lobster & Pork Belly Mac and Cheese was underwhelming, and the most disappointing part of the meal. Barely any lobster, barely any pork belly, came out hot at least, but just overall, tasted just like the other mac and cheese we got for the little one because there was barely any lobster or pork belly in it. For the price of this too, it was complete not worth it, not even at half the cost. The mushrooms though, that was spectacular. Flavored so well, so many variety of tasty mushrooms, and overall all just tasted great with the various textures from the selection of mushrooms. Would definitely get this again next time. We got two main dishes: regular tomahawk and the branzino. The tomahawk, while it shows 48oz on the menu, will also include the weight of the bone, so if you were like me initially and your eyes just glazed over at the sight of that weight, it's considerably less, albeit, still nice cooked. I did enjoy the tomahawk here, and it was cooked to perfection basically. There were still quite a bit of meat left on the bone though that they didn't quite cut off, so towards the end we were trying to skim off some of that leftover, and still got a few good slices that weren't just fat. Think what would have happened if we were lazier, lol. The meat was great, tasty, tender, cooked just to our liking, and there was at least a piece or two for most of us at the table (4 adults). The branzino was good too, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was cooked perfectly. It had some lemon and other things wedged in the middle of the gutted fish for flavor I'm assuming, and the skin on top was crispy. It was good fish. Overall, LB Steak is a nice place to come for a steak, and emphasis on nice. Decor is great, staff are friendly, and pricing is comparable for a steak house. Places that still didn't quite feel up to par in regards to bang for your buck: wine is on the pricier side (though bottle seemed reasonable, glasses were a bit high), some of the food was very hit or miss especially the lobster mac, and minor wait time issues for the entrees. read more

We revisited this place to give it a second chance for my son's birthday. Service was better, and they came out with a birthday sweet island idea, which was great. Changing it to 4 stars now. We sat at the bar and had great service. We ordered the wedge salad, which was more than enough for two people to share. Super delicious. Then my wife order the waygu beef cheek with pasta mushroom sauce. This was probably my most delicious things. I've eaten in several months it was awesome. Our bartender recommended the pork chop which I ordered. It was fantastic extraordinarily juicy beautiful crust on the outside and this was actually two ribs. Combine to create one chop unbelievably delicious couldn't finish it but cut some pieces up to eat later at the hotel, totally worth it. After attending an event here I decided I wanted to come and try a steak, it was quite busy but they had open seats at the bar so I went to the bar. The bartender Enrique was helpful and I ordered the filet mignon from him. It was tasty, cooked nicely in a medium rare. Soft and had nice flavor and was accompanied by some veggies. I got the 6 Oz but i think I'd get the 8 Oz next time because the difference is only $6, i just wasn't super hungry that evening. We had a wonderful dining experience at the Steakhouse last week. The wait staff was polite and attentive, answering our questions with much patience. I forgot the name of the older gentleman, but hope to see him again on my next visit. While I inwardly cringe at ordering seafood at a steakhouse, we were so impressed by the menu offering lobster bisque and whole grilled branzino. I swear the fish was picked off the Mediterranean coast and teleported right into the kitchen where it was grilled to perfection. Our party also ordered the Ribeye and Filet Mignon, and sides of the spiced brussel sprouts and mushrooms to share. We are so delighted to have found this gem of a Steakhouse at the City Center. Visited Thanksgiving Day. Food was absolutely delicious. I had the turkey dinner. I think it was the best turkey I have ever tasted. The sides were also great. They substituted regular mashed potatoes for the sweet potatoes for me, no problem. Service was efficient, very friendly and attentive. We felt so welcome there. Ladies night out! Originally we booked at Santana Row but change of plans last minute. First timer for me. Nice city center with lots of other stores. Greeted by their staff and sat at a booth in their dining area. Superb service thank you to our host/server Forest. My friends were enticed by his look alike Channing Tatum. Especially my birthday bestie she was mesmerized and couldn't get the words out of her mouth . Anyhow we opt for Tomahawk for the four of us, Brussels so sweet chili, branzino was a delicate touch, truffle fries it is a must, lobster Mac n cheese, calamari and beet salad. Good service and tasty food goes a long way. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation so we had to hang tight for a minute until they had our booth ready. Once it was clean we got escorted over. The tables were a little bouncy so the waiter fixed them up with little shims they have in boxes ... seems like a normal thing since they had a solution box lol. The wait time to order was quick and they uncorked our bottle of wine first thing. The appetizers of salads, and bone marrow were all tasty. The presentation on the mixed greens salads was lost when one of the bussers was handling the food. The steak I ordered was very thin for a ribeye but cooked as I asked, the scallops, or lack thereof was a bit disheartening, only 3 on the entree plate, the branzino was killer and the right amount of food. The sides of Mac and cheese, loaded potato and asparagus were nice. The potato and asparagus are must haves, I could skip the Mac and cheese next time. The desert menu was slim, they tried pushing several post dinner cocktails and aperitifs that we passed on in favor of espressos. Overall a nice experience, not the best steak house but certainly not bad by any means. The prices were fair, the help was very nice. I'd come back again for sure! read more

1. The service here is wonderful. We were greeted so warmly right when we walked in. The hostess was very sweet and friendly, and she made sure to wish my friend Happy Birthday. She even confirmed that she knows we requested a booth and she sat us at a nice corner booth. Our server was full of smiles, always checked on us, and brought our food and drinks quickly. He refilled our drinks without us even having to ask. He definitely gave 5 star service!! 2. The reason I took off 2 stars was because of the food. We were pretty disappointed with most of the dinner. We ordered the boneless ribeye, Mac and cheese, truffle fries, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, creme brulee, and chocolate molten cake. Bread: The do give a bread basket with the meal and it's nothing to write home about. The bread is kind of hard and dry. The butter really helped, haha. Ribeye: We both ordered medium and both steaks came between medium well to well done. The cuts of meat were also extremely thin and it felt like we were just having steak that was meant to be cut up in strips and put in a sandwich or fajitas. Also, they give a few pieces of vegetables as a garnish with the steak and they all had a weird taste and texture. Also, I saw on all other tables, everyone were getting different sauces with their steaks. There were even tables that just ordered ribeyes like we did that got sauces. We didn't get any nor were we offered any. My friend asked the table next to us if they had to order the sauces, and the lady said no and that the server just brought them. Mac and Cheese: While the Mac and cheese was extremely cheesy, there wasn't much flavor. We felt like it could have used some seasoning, or at least some salt. Truffle fries: The fries were actually the best side. They were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They had a lovely flavor and were salted perfectly. Mushrooms: They were soggy and bland. Mashed Potatoes: The description states their mashed potatoes are a potato purée, which made us believe there would be no lumps and it would be smooth and creamy all the way through. There were lots of lumps and the potatoes were soft for only 3-4 minutes. As they cooled down, they solidified. Not what we wanted in our mashed potatoes. Creme Brulee: This was absolutely delicious and one of the best creme brûlées we have had. Chocolate Molten Cake: This was very confusing to us because this was more like a chocolate cake stuffed with a chocolate custard. While the flavor of the cake was good, the inside wasn't warm and melty. It was cold and gelatinous. A chocolate molten cake is usually warm or hot throughout and the melty center flows out when you cut into it. This was nothing like that and it's basically a thick cold pudding inside. The chocolate they used is good quality though because it had a nice rich flavor. 3. Overall, the quality of the food wasn't consistent throughout. The service was great and some items were tasty, but for the amount we are paying, I would expect every item to be amazing, especially the steak. There are so other steakhouses I rather go that give quality food from the appetizers all the way to the dessert. We were surprised because we've heard such good things about LB Steak. I have been to this place twice, the first time for my husband's 50th birthday during December during Covid. They made us sit outside in the freezing cold because our children were not vaccinated. The food was outrageously expensive, didn't blow us away and most of the stuff got cold instantly because it was freezing outside. I would have given that night a 3/5, nothing "special" about spending $700 on dinner for a special occasion there are other places that are much better. Our visit this past Sunday was subpar, we got a couple of appetizers to eat at the shopping center in between shopping and driving home. We Door Dashed two items: 1 Onion Rings, 1 Shrimp Appetizer The Onion Rings were cold and tasted like an old greasy flavor, the container of sauce was half full, very pungent, almost sour tasting, not the best match with the onion rings. After trying 2 cold ones, since we weren't at home to re-heat everything, I threw them out. Shrimp Appetizer: This was scalding hot, and had to wait for it to cool down, it came with nothing just a giant pool of sauce in a plastic to-go box, and four shrimp, this did not match the description. NO forks, spoons, napkins, nothing to eat a to-go meal. Another bizarre interaction was the hostess looked at me dumbfounded when I asked if I could order a soda or an ice water to go, she looked confused and facially distraught by the question, so she said she had to go ask someone. She came back and then said we can give you water but we only have kids plastic cups. So she left again, and finally returned with the water. read more
