The food was pretty good actually but the experience was dampened by the poor service and lack of attention. We sat outside and were only checked on once or twice for the entirety of the dinner. We waited 70 minutes for our food to come out (were told Tomahawk would take 35-40 min) and had asked for other dishes to be brought out as ready. No explanation was provided for the delay and no heads up was given (went inside to hostess stand to ask about it). As mentioned, all the food was decent (got the burger, tomahawk, and filter mignon) but would have expected much better service from a high-end restaurant like this. Letting us know there was a delay with the food would have been nice. Also, no one ever acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating at any point during the dinner. read more

We came here for an early dinner after some ice skating. We brought our baby in a stroller and they made sure we were at a table that had enough room to put our stroller next to us. Staff was very nice and helpful. They brought us some water and complimentary bread and butter as we looked over the menu. Me and my husband ordered dishes that we could share. We ordered the Caesar salad, roasted bone marrow, macaroni and cheese, LB potato, and LB wagyu burger. They split the Caesar salad and cut the burger for us. Caesar salad was standard. The roasted bone marrow was so good, especially with the extra sauces they put on top. The mac and cheese was good and had plenty of cheese. The potato was better than I thought it would me. It's a hollowed out potato that was made into creamy mashed potatoes and put back into a crispy half of the potato. It was topped with a béchamel, cheese and bacon. It was like a bigger and more elevated version of a potato skin appetizer. The burger was pretty good. Fries were hot and crispy. When it came to servicing us & placing our order, it was almost like we weren't noticed... even though their were 3 bartenders with a half full bar... maybe they were trying to decide who would be stuck with us.. Anywho, gin Martini was good (not great), mashed potatoes texture were kinda gritty but very wet & runny like.. We ordered a medium rare ribeye & got a completely undercooked rare gummie & chewy ribeye.. YUCK.. tasteless! BUT THAT SAUTÉED SPINACH earned the ENTIRE 1.5 stars for this review... IT WAS AMAZING.. After attending an event here I decided I wanted to come and try a steak, it was quite busy but they had open seats at the bar so I went to the bar. The bartender Enrique was helpful and I ordered the filet mignon from him. It was tasty, cooked nicely in a medium rare. Soft and had nice flavor and was accompanied by some veggies. I got the 6 Oz but i think I'd get the 8 Oz next time because the difference is only $6, i just wasn't super hungry that evening. Beautiful restaurant and great food, I'd definitely like to come back and try some more! Definitely a nice steakhouse and they do nice cocktails too, would love to try more cocktails or wines here on my next visit. It was my boyfriends birthday and he requested a tomahawk steak ! I pulled out my Yelp and found this gem ! Let's get into it ! I called and made my reservation like 4 days prior . They noted it was his birthday for me . They require vaccine cards and id for indoor seating and masks for outdoor seating . We got there and got seated immediately. We opted for outdoor seating . They have fire pit tables which gives a cute ambiance and keeps you warm . They have heaters as well . My waitress and waiters ( we were helped by 2 people ) were very nice and accommodating. The girl took our picture and helped us pick out the sides for our dinner . We got the tomahawk ribeye steak , the Mac and cheese , and some oysters . We also got scallops ( you order them individually , 7$ for one but they are very plump ) The oysters were fresh ! They offered two different kinds so you know I got both . The Mac and cheese was ok . Nothing spectacular. BUT THE STEAK ! Melted like butter in my mouth ! We asked for medium rare and it came out perfect ! I loved the 3 different salts they give you for your steak as well ! My favorite was the black lava salt . He also got a cute little chocolate fudge cake and some ice cream as his birthday dessert ! This is a date night type of ambiance and one of my favorite places to get steak. I come here on special occasions with my girlfriend and we both love it here. The service staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything came out in a relatively quick time. They have good Wagyu cuts which is hard to come by with different tastes depending on your tastebuds or wine of choice. Our favorite here are the Truffle fries and we get it every time no matter what meal we decide to eat. Their lobster Mac and cheese is pricey but worth a try if you haven't had it before, nice and creamy with chunks of lobster. The last time we were here, we got their Gulf Prawn appetizer and their prawns were huge. We ended up dipping our bread into the sauce and it was amazingly delicious. For our main course, we got the tomahawk for two. I can't pass up a good tomahawk. I don't much care for their gravy options, I prefer the salts that were on the board. The presentation was 10/10 and I will say, I prefer the wagyu meat over the tomahawk. It wasn't a melt like butter in your mouth as I had hoped for. Yo. They are NOT small here. Sakura Pork Chop ($42): Okay. This is so reasonable at its price point - it was ginormous!! Think 3 or 4 pork chops if you need to compare for size. And it was juicy! LB Wagyu Burger ($22): A little bummed it came out medium instead of medium rare, but I was too into it to care for more than a few seconds. That smoked onion marmalade and foraged mushrooms really make this burger unique. I forgot my leftovers at the table and was so sad T-T A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Carpaccio ($30): If you're only going to get one appetizer or side, this is it!!! I didn't think I would enjoy raw meat let alone with pickled vegetables, but color me shocked. This was my favorite. Came during lunch time. The restaurant is located on the same side as Philz coffee but not as far down. It is near the valet parking and next to the parking garage entrance. I parked in the garage 2nd floor and walked down to get to LB on the 1st floor. The ambiance is just ok for me. Not as upscale as you might expect for the price point they are charging. The service was friendly though, and the lunch I had was tasty. The beef power bowl was delicious, as was the calamari appetizer. I was a little disappointed in the sparkling blood orange water. I thought it was going to be made in house. It wasn't. It came in a can. I would recommend skipping that. Molten lava cake with ice cream was pretty good to finish off the meal. read more

LB Steak is one of the many restaurants available in Bishop Ranch, but what sets it aside is the quality of the items. Considered to be more of a high end steakhouse ( don't compare it to Outback or Texas), the seasonings and methods of cooking are meant to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients and bring them to the forefront. To that end, they mostly succeed. There are small issues with consistencies if you are the type to come in often, which shows a little bit of inexperience from the cooks in the back, but overall you can still expect a delicious experience if you order any of their aged steaks. The service is wonderful. If it's a birthday or anniversary, you can expect they will note this with care and try to make sure your experience is a special one. The decor and location is very clean. The ambience is very welcoming when having a meal you're spending so much on. When it comes to the prices, it is a bit on the higher end, but you can definitely taste the difference in class. It's more expensive than anything you'd get in a casual setting, but your experience will be anything but casual. I have been to this place twice, the first time for my husband's 50th birthday during December during Covid. They made us sit outside in the freezing cold because our children were not vaccinated. The food was outrageously expensive, didn't blow us away and most of the stuff got cold instantly because it was freezing outside. I would have given that night a 3/5, nothing "special" about spending $700 on dinner for a special occasion there are other places that are much better. Our visit this past Sunday was subpar, we got a couple of appetizers to eat at the shopping center in between shopping and driving home. We Door Dashed two items: 1 Onion Rings, 1 Shrimp Appetizer The Onion Rings were cold and tasted like an old greasy flavor, the container of sauce was half full, very pungent, almost sour tasting, not the best match with the onion rings. After trying 2 cold ones, since we weren't at home to re-heat everything, I threw them out. Shrimp Appetizer: This was scalding hot, and had to wait for it to cool down, it came with nothing just a giant pool of sauce in a plastic to-go box, and four shrimp, this did not match the description. NO forks, spoons, napkins, nothing to eat a to-go meal. Another bizarre interaction was the hostess looked at me dumbfounded when I asked if I could order a soda or an ice water to go, she looked confused and facially distraught by the question, so she said she had to go ask someone. Came here for date night on a weekday. Was not crowded at all. We had made reservations so we were seated very quickly. For starters, we got the about a dozen Kumamoto Oysters and they were perfect. We ordered the Filet Mignon medium rare, with peppercorn sauce and blue cheese butter. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. We also got the garlic fries and foraged mushrooms. His Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and he liked the foraged mushrooms. Although not a fan of the mushrooms of the foraged kind, they were roasted or sautéed in a herb sauce that was richly flavored. I felt them to be a bit "stalky" for the lack of a better word as they had thick stringy stalks and small tiny caps. I have to agree with another reviewer on here about the inconsistency. My filet Mignon was cooked half medium with no pink and the rest medium rare. It was not a huge deal for me and I ate it because it was delicious. I mentioned this to our server Yael, and she appreciated my feedback and wanted to make things right for us. We let her know that we had no complaints since it was delicious and she could tell by our empty plates. Celebrated our grandsons birthday today and we were thoroughly pleased. The steaks were done precisely as we requested, the mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth and the broccolini was just right. Our appetizer of bone marrow with chimichurri was finger licking tasty. Ending with a Creme Brûlée and a Carajillo (licor 43 and shot of espresso) made to order was the icing on the cake. And I am 21 but I could convince people that I'm 16 (let's just say I always get carded for alcohol). We ordered an average amount for 4 people. Appetizers included a salad, bone marrow, oysters, and pork belly. I honestly wouldn't buy any of them again. They were good, but definitely not the highlight of my visit! As for the entree, we just split the Tomahawk (for two) between the 4 of us, with sides of mashed potatoes and truffle fries. I really liked all of these. And it was a good amount. Our server told us that the Tomahawk is good for 3-4 people and she was right. And we were all full! It comes with several slices of meat and 3 salts and 4 sauces. Room for dessert? Dessert was great! I was already full, but I could usually go for dessert if it's an option! We ordered the creme brûlée but also got a chocolate molten cake (I think for free) as it was my grandmother's birthday. They were both good. Creme brûlée was amazing as it was not overly sweet. We (mostly me) finished it. It came with high quality fruits. The berries were so sweet! If I'm invited here again, I will definitely come (assuming I'm not the one paying)! Let me preface this review and by saying that I didn't know that this restaurant is some sort of chain. I just saw that there was a new steak restaurant in San Ramon that we should try. On a whim, we decided to try the new restaurant that was opened three months ago. Let us know that even though waygu is the reason why people flock to the restaurant, that their seafood is pretty good, and that her favorite was the bronzino. So, tonight was a surf and turf night for us. We had the bronzino and we love when they serve the fish with the head on because that is how fish should be served. We would have liked the fish more if it had more of a stronger citrus flavor to it. But instead to add to the flavor, we just use my sis salt from our steak plate on the fish. My PSA for the day **TRY THE WAYGU!!!** We had 8oz of the A5 NEW YORK STRIP MIYAZAKI, JAPAN 30/oz. Both of us were blown away. We have had waygu at several different restaurants all over the world, and this was what both of us thought may have been the best steak that we each have had in our entire lives. Which is saying so much! Yes, the price is worth it. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare with 4 different types of salt on the plate. I really enjoyed the lighter two colored salts. We also had the chocolate brownie cremeux which was okay. You have to eat every little piece of it in one bite to appreciate the marriage of textures and flavors. I really liked how the bartender didn't offer us the most expensive drink when we asked for which was the most dry Cabernet. I also really love our server, Ayjai, was the best server we had in a long time. He knows what is in the food he serves and he knows how to whip up a really great cocktail. I mean she just did her job. Maybe it was just her personality. But what really made us upset was that our water glasses were running low, our waitress shoved her water pitcher in between me and my sister, even though there was clearly no space for that. No "excuse me" or "pardon my reach", just shoved it right in between us. I was sitting at the end of the table so she could have easily went to that side and asked for the water glass to be passed over. We all looked at her like Wtf. Her attitude any time we asked for something just made it seem like she didn't want to serve us. Here's what we ordered: - Fritto Misto : very small portion, maybe shared among 2 people, very little batter so don't expect like a regular calamari appetizer - lobster bisque : not much flavor - bread basket: focaccia was super dry, but I enjoyed the other bread (I think it was sourdough) - lobster /pork belly Mac and cheese -truffle fries : great staple to have For the main entrees we ordered: - New York strip - 6oz filet mignon - fried chicken - wagu burger - scallops The fried chicken was super crunchy and crispy, was great. The rest of the entrees were mediocre. Nothing special. Everyone enjoyed their food but we enjoyed the sides and appetizers more. Came here to celebrate our anniversary and we left very satisfied with our experience. Made a last minute reservation on a Friday at 6:15 for 3 and they accommodated us even though we arrived late. It was very busy with the lounge and dining room full. It can get noisy so you may not be able to easily talk across a large table. We ordered the shrimp cocktail to start which came with 5 shrimp. The pieces were very large and fresh but I may opt to try their soup or salad next time. The wagyu burger was a bit disappointing, it was very rich and heavy and comes with cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms. I was looking for the traditional lettuce, tomato, onion garnish to cut some of the fattiness. The Ribeye with the LB potato and mushroom sides were enough to share between two people. The steak was perfectly cooked though it was only 1/2" thick I expect a slightly thicker cut for a high end steakhouse. Mushrooms had a buttery and bouncy texture which complimented the steak. The LB potato is basically their mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese on top of a potato skin. I would probably venture to try the Mac and cheese or brussel sprouts next time. For dessert we had lattes and their chocolate molten cake. They were generous to give us an extra portion of dessert to celebrate our special occasion. It was a great way to end the night. Probably the most unwelcoming experience I had in a long. We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservations. Checked in and the hostess had a scowl on her face very unpleasant. She told me we can't seat you until your reservation time. The way say she said it we seriously considered leaving. The restaurant was empty. Staff just standing around chatting. She didn't even offer us to order drinks from the bar, no kind of hospitality whatsoever. I've arrived to plenty of restaurants before and been told "your table isn't ready yet, give us 15 minutes." That is better response than we can't seat you. When we were seated there were a total of 4 tables being served. The restaurant was not busy and quite empty. The waiter was no better.
