With the whole quarantine all stores have been closed and only doing to go/pick up orders. Strangely enough this place only accepts door dash orders, which is usually more expensive than in-store pricing. Not knowing they were doing this, me and my friend drove over and were confused as to why their doors were locked. One of the workers came outside and told us to order through the door dash app for them to make it. Luckily he gave us an exception. He let us order in person by writing what we wanted on a piece of paper and paying on the spot. VERY KIND. On to the food. The fish was fresh and I really enjoyed the combinations of their sauce. I've never had zucchini noodles so I decided to try it as I've been trying to cut down on carbs -- it was great! I was hesitant to order it at first afraid that it would make things watery but it was perfect. They pack the bowls pretty well. The price is decent. I'll definitely come back and order again. They have a similar vibe to Icicles except honestly I liked it better. The staff was friendly and wearing all the proper equipment for COVID. Decided to try this poke spot right after my nail appointment. It was the first I've ever been to a poke spot that have you make your bowl on paper which I thought was convenient at first. They let you add whatever and have premium toppings like mango, seaweed salad, shrimp tempura, and extra crab or avocado. That's where prices start going up. The one thing that makes them stand out is their crunch toppings - wonton chips (which my friend said ask for them on the side), shrimp chips, fried onion , or hot cheetos! That's new. I love IP's ice cream rolls. They're creamy, fresh, and they have a great selection of unique flavors. I've never been disappointed by their ice cream here. As for the poke, I feel like there's some insane shrink flation going on. The sushiritos used to be huge and come with a lot more wonton chips. This time I ordered the burrito was comically small and it came with 3--yes only 3--wonton chips. And even so it's more expensive than it used to be. I feel like it's not worth it for the price anymore and I'd rather come here for ice cream. The service is friendly but it can be very very slow especially on a weekday during after school hours. Icey Poki brings two businesses in one, on one side Thai-styled ice cream rolls and on the other poke. Ordering here is a bit interesting and can be a bit confusing, but just take a look at the menu and head to the cashier located in the back center of the place. I guess you would really have to commit to deciding if you want that avocado for the extra moolah from the start. Tell them what you'd like to order and line up to get your ice cream or meal started after you get a receipt. I decided to go with the Regular Poki Bowl, I normally never finish my portions of poke so I knew I was gonna have leftovers regardless. For the Regular you get 3 scoops of protein. I opted for the spicy tuna, salmon and hamachi mixed with miso and their shoyu sauce, on top of brown rice. Topped it with edamame, corn, furikake, masago imitation crab, greens, cilantro and finished with hot cheeto dust. The good thing about Icey Poki is the amount of toppings is basically up to you, the only extra charges are things like avocado (of course) for example. Portion wise, the regular bowl, seems to me like a large bowl with enough food to realistically feed two people. Like really, do people need to eat THAT much? Really. Fish tasted fresh, proteins were dressed well in the sauce. Toppings were good and there was a good selection. Definitely not stingy on the portions here. After getting a taste, made my way over to grab dessert to share and opted for the Avocado Smash. Ya know, cause I didn't want to cough up the extra $ to have it in my bowl ... why not for dessert? I just couldn't get away. If you're a fan of the simple dessert of smashed avocado, sugar and milk or Bo Dam (in Vietnamese) this is it ... in rolled, ice cream form. A huge lofty shop that serves up rolled ice cream on one side and poke opposite to that. I just came for the poke this time. The set up of the counters and how you order is pretty terrible. Unlike other poke places I've been to, you order and pay first before you go down the line and they scoop what you want. This is annoying because the cash register faces towards the entrance to the store but the menu is on the wall perpendicular to it so you can't see it unless you walk around the side first. If there's a line that means you have to walk around, decide what you want, then line up to order. You don't get to save time by looking at the menu in line. They have one menu at the register so only one person can look at it at a time. The cashier was insanely impatient with us. He was hopping from foot to foot and asking if we were ready continually. There was no one behind us and because of the horrendous layout of the store, yeah we needed a few minutes to decide everything we were going to get on our first visit to this place right up front. You literally had to look through bases for your poke, included toppings, decide on your sauces, and toppings that were extra before you ordered so they could charge you correctly. I mean I guess you don't HAVE to but I wanted to build a bowl that would taste good with the stuff that I chose without having to later line up and pay again. Extremely poor planning but anyways. The scooping process was fine and the employee that helped me out there was really friendly. They mix the fish and most of the toppings (not the dry ones) in with the sauce which I think was better than other places that only mix your fish in the sauce. I found it more flavorful this way. The fish was also really fresh, had a good flavor, and a good texture. We also had an order of the fries which were topped with crab salad, a spicy aioli and unagi sauce.
