This has been one of my go to spots for years. It is always good. I love that it is a family operation too. The service here is always good not great. A little slow but nice. For the real reason we're here, the food. I love the food here. I'm a bit basic with my Chinese, so I typically go with general tso chicken. It's really good here. It's very good quality chicken too. This is seriously a gem in Madison Heights! This family owned restaurant produces delicious and fresh tasting dishes. It's not your typical "Americanized" Chinese restaurant that serves szechuan orange sweet 'n sour almond boneless chicken. They actually make food with sustenance such as crispy duck (or chicken), pan fried noodles, and homemade dumplings. The only downfall is that I wish this place was closer to my house :/ We had the 1/2 order of crispy duck, LC's house special pan fried noodles, dumplings, house special fried rice and the salt and pepper squid. My boyfriend and I ordered this to go one Friday night. I placed a phone order, and they answered right away and the timing of our order was very accurate. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice, and the wok-fried rice noodle with beef and soya sauce. The food was very good! I wish there was more shrimp in the shrimp fried rice as there were only 4-5 pieces for a big order, but otherwise it was tasty. The sweet and sour chicken was really good, better than most places in the area! The wok-fried rice noodle was also way better than expected. (We decides to try something different and it was worth it!) Probably will be ordering from here again as it is pretty convenient and overall a very good restaurant. read more

Why do they act like the soy sauce packets are gold? They cost them like...less than $.05. The owner lady was EXTREMELY rude when asked for more. She YELLED at my fiance & said NO YOU HAVE ENOUGH! He said, I just need a couple extra & she again YELLED at him YOU HAVE ENOUGH & walked away. We got 2 in the bag. TWO! Does it really matter THAT much to give a total of 4?!?! For this reason alone, I doubt we will be going back. This has been our place for Chinese for yrs but if this is how you treat a loyal customer, we will find a new place that isn't GREEDY over a couple of stupid soy sauce packets. Many businesses are not open and for the ones that are I truly appreciate! My boyfriend ordered the Orange Beef with white rice and I had the won ton soup with combination fried rice. We had so much food we were able to share! The Orange Beef is AMAZING!! Crisp edges and tender! Cooked with a sauce that is slightly sweet but with a little spice. I love how they prepared the fried rice not too salty and you have room to add additional soy sauce if you would like. The combo fried rice came with nice size shrimp, chicken, and pork! Disappointing. After reading the good reviews we spent about $65 trying the almond, orange & sesame chicken, and pepper steak. Almond chicken was so salty I couldn't eat it (and I love salty food). My son in law's pepper steak was mush (so much so that he wouldn't eat it)and the orange chicken was mediocre. Sesame chicken was also bland. I don't know how this restaurant is still in business, the lady who I assumed is the owner is rude and only cares about money not people. I put a carry out order in and I wanted a hot mustard for my order, I just paid over $30 for my food and she wanted to charge me one dollar for my hot mustard!! WHAT??? i'm 72 years old I've been going to Chinese restaurant for over 50 years and have never been charged for a little hot mustard... Unbelievable! first time coming to this restaurant and it was a great experience. Service was great as well. My over all favorite experience was the daughter of the owners. She lit up the whole place. The soup was my favorite. I like the tangy that it came with and I have been looking for a Chinese restaurant with a good hot and sour soup because most places don't add as much flavor but this soup was a kick! AWFUL customer service. We just did a DoorDash order and paid well over $18 a plate for sweet and sour chicken and orange chicken. Their menu on door dash clearly listed that each came with fried rice and a egg roll. We weren't delivered the rice or eggs rolls and when we called to speak with someone to make it right, we were told we ordered wrong. No solution, no apologies. We're left with just expensive chicken because of mis-advertising on their DoorDash site. We're so sad this happened because we have enjoyed ordering the same dishes in the past from LCs but this will be our last time. read more

LC Asian Kitchen is delicious!! Our church had a Christmas lunch and ordered from LC kitchen and oh my was it good. The food was all very fresh and the general tso was not overly sauced and still very crisp. There was also fried rice, Mapo tofu and a seafood dish all of which was equally yummy. First bite, "nice". Second bite, "really nice". Third bite... I realized this was my new place for Chinese food. I ordered through Door Dash, the food came quickly and hot, the flavor and quality of the food may force me out of bed in the middle of the night for a snack. After tasting everything I ordered (Beef with Vegetable, Egg Roll, and the dumpling) I had to stop and call them to tell them how excited I was to find them and how wonderful their food was. She was rather surprised to get my call - apparently people only call to complain these days. NO complaints here. The beef was tender and delicious. The sauce was sublime. The veggies plentiful and they respected my requirements of no peppers. I do prefer an egg roll with bean sprouts, but this was far from shabby. THE DUMPLINGS? This side of heaven. THE SAUCE FOR THE DUMPLINGS? It had an amazing umami flavor depth with just a touch of heat. Like most Chinese places in the area the portions were enough to feed at least 3 - 4 people, so I am pleased to report I will be eating this for days and not mad about it. Not mad one bit. LC's is our go-to place for quick Chinese food in the Royal Oak / Madison Heights area. Always have quick service and the portion sizes are large. My husband and I usually split one of the combo boxes for dinner and it is plenty for the two of us. The egg roll only included cabbage and that was also bland (see where this is going?). My General Tso's Chickens sauce was so good! A little spicy and a little sweet, yum. My sons boneless chicken was cooked perfectly and the gravy was flavorful yet you could still taste the chicken. They both were super good, but I will say that was some of the best General Tso's Chicken I've had. We tried LC's Asian Kitchen last Thursday based on the 92%+ reviews on GrubHub, but our experience did not live up to our expectations. We watch Diners, Drive-in's & Dives on a regular basis, so we are always hopeful that we will find a diamond in the rough. We definitely did not find that in LC's Asian Kitchen. I ordered General Chicken, which was obviously their version of General Tso's Chicken and my wife had chicken fried rice. My dinner had a lot of chicken-enough for two meals, so I didn't mind paying $16 for it, but it was just your basic Asian restaurant meal. Some of the pieces of chicken had a nice crunch from the breading and the sauce had a nice mix of sweet and spicy, but some of the pieces were made only of breading. They used pieces of cut up chicken, which I appreciated-the dish didn't wasn't some pre-made frozen food product that they just heated up. But, the Styrofoam containers that our food came in all smelled like the musty air of the restaurant. It was the smell of old furniture that absorbed too many odors from the kitchen over many years. My food came with rice, which was cooked well and it tasted like rice. But, my wife's chicken fried rice was awful-way too much soy sauce and that was all we could taste. Also, the chicken tasted like leftovers. I get that not every restaurant is going to provide Benihana quality, but wow, the chicken fried rice was mediocre at best. The egg drop soup that she ordered was okay. LC's Asian Kitchen does only carry-out orders due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. When I walked into the restaurant I noticed a wall that they put up in the middle of the restaurant to prevent people from going to the bathroom or going near the kitchen. They had all their furniture piled into one corner with plastic covers. I gave three stars because the lady who gave me my food was nice and the General Chicken had decent flavor with some big pieces of chicken, but we're not in a rush to go back due to the mediocre chicken fried rice. read more

How have I not reviewed this place yet?? Honestly, this is our favorite Chinese food place. Great tasting food and large sizes. Their thai fried rice and the orange chicken are our go-to's but their almond chicken is great as well. We used to live in the area but moved four years ago to the Rochester area. We STILL go back at least once a month for takeout and the owner remembers us. One day I thought I lost my wallet and she told me she can just write it down and we pay next time- who does that?! I've waited over 3 years to return. Glad I came back. I was on my way to Charlies for a burger and passed by LC's door. There are carryout signs hanging outside. I decided to try again. The lady at the register is very pleasant and I went for the Kubo Chicken lunch combo with egg roll and fried rice. I waited about 5 minutes and a guy came out of the kitchen,also very pleasant and handed me my large load of food and told me to have a nice day. I raced home and went for the egg roll immediately while it is still crispy. The last time I had one, it was terrible but this time around solid A- on this guy. Crispy and light. Really good. I next hit the main dish. Really good, lots of vegetables, chicken and peanuts. My only complaint if I had to have one is the vegetables are cut big but that is me knit picking for the sake of knit picking. I've written some reviews putting down Americanized Chinese and hailing the authentic places. However, sometimes you just need a solid sweet and sour chicken, or hanker for an almond chicken done just the way you remember from your childhood. And when you do have this craving, it can be very difficult to find a place that does it right- not too much grease (though not too little), with the flavors you remember and fresh quality that won't offend your adult foodie sensibilities. LC's Kitchen accomplishes these checkpoints well, and even though I discovered them because my mom ordered take-out (they live a couple of blocks away), I've been back on my own and will drive a little farther to enjoy the goodness over the other Chinese places by my house. LC's has a few characteristics I have to laud: First, when I asked for extra spicy, they actually added extra spice that I could detect. This is incredibly rare in a Chinese restaurant, and wins points and return visits from me in its own right. Second, their vegetables are fresh and their meat tastes tender and high quality. Even their fried food isn't swimming in grease, which makes their Americanized choices a fine way to go instead of an afterthought, like many more authentic Chinese restaurants. I usually enjoy the Szechuan chicken, and share with my friend who gets the almond chicken. Egg drop soup, wonton soup and egg rolls- usual suspects, but still necessary accompaniments (all good). If it's in your neighborhood, go for your next craving. read more

I got 2 shrimp dishes and a spicy beef dish and crab rangoons. The filling of the rangoons is great; the shell is not as good at Tai Fai rangoons. Perhaps this one is wheat and the Tai Fai is rice? The spicy beef is spicy?, but sweet, very sweet. I like sweet though Curry shrimp was mostly sauce. Nice favor but ver disappointed in dish - no "stuff" in the gravy. Pad Thai Shrimp was good and plentiful. Seemed almost strange as to inconsistency in the amounts of food in dishes. Hmmmmmm Lots of white rice came with the order but I rarely eat that so I didn't bother to photograph it. The both sad yet funny thing was the 15? Year old boy, the son, running the cash register. Man he was snotty and rude. Yet somehow a scene from a comedy - he on his cell phone watching "YouTube", really frustrated with me, a customer, taking him away from his phone lol "what'd you order" he demanded. Me-"lots of stuff". He returns from kitchen with my bill, his mom? close second with my food as he argued angrily with his mom over the bill, he defiantly not a people person lol. ??? Mom smiling and grateful and polite. I could have laughed out loud or left annoyed. Seriously, it was a riot. In actuality, the food resembled Americanized Chinese Food of sweetened sauce and standardized cashew chicken. I see the 4 star rating from fellow patrons but I'm not feeling over a 3. This is my new go-to take out Chinese spot. Orange chicken was super fresh. Delicious, crispy white meat chicken with the perfect amount of breading. Tastes high quality. Crab Rangoons are great with actual meat filling and not just cream cheese. Hot and sour soup was both hot and sour. Just got back from having dinner there, and for our first time there, it was an amazing meal. My wife and I were looking for a place to sit down and enjoy some new chinese cuisine, and we were alerted to LC's Asian Kitchen by yelp. So we went on over, and walked into a smaller resturaunt, but it seemed to be nicely charming. We were greated and sat at a table in no time. Now, I dont' know about you but when you sit there and try a new place, you're always going to be a little apprehensive about what you get, so you always go back to your old fall back as a baseline of what you're having. For me, General Tso's Chicken was on the menu. The Won ton soup was right on the spot, the egg rolls were delicious, and the main course... well, needless to say, there wasn't any to take home because it was so good. The portion sizes are pretty big.. and the staff there seemed to be very... very friendly. Definatetly worth checking out if you're in the mood.
