Our dinner at moulin rouge was outstanding. Our service from host Larry and server Maria was so attentive and personable. The quality of the food far exceeded expectations -- something you'd really only expect in a large city or France itself. We had wine and Scotch, Pinot noir and speyburn to be specific, both of which were superb and very reasonably priced. Couldn't recommend this establishment more!

French-onion soup worth mentioning. Martinis were excellent Very attentive service Great atmosphere Ryan was our server, highly recommend him, VERY professional They're now offering a prix fixe menu Wednesdays and Thursday's IN ADDITION to their A la carte menu and some of the chef's selections are impressive. We had lava cake for dessert, and it was incredible. I highly recommend the frog's legs.

We often sit debating where to go for a good dinner and forget about the amazing restaurants in our own back yard. I will be the first to admit, although I have been to a handful of French restaurants, I am not overly familiar with authentic French cuisine. But regardless if this restaurants authentic, or the chef was even French trained, they still serve awesome food! They have a very nice wine list, with something to go with any meal, or please any palate. I enjoyed a nice glass of French Pinot Noir. I started with the French onion soup, which was definitely one of the top two I had ever had. Cheesy, with delicious broth and a nice crouton soaking up all the goodness. For the main event I had the roast duck, at the recommendation of our server. I love a well cooked duck, which is extremely hard to find, and this place knocked it out of the park for me! The absolute best duck I have ever had. The orange sauce was perfection for this crispy roast duck! I will have a difficult time ordering anything else when I return!

Delicious! Simply delicious! We have never left here disappointed. It is a very quiet, relaxed atmosphere that is quite enjoyable. They start you off with crackers and cheese that always seem to hit the spot when you are starving for dinner. Fresh warm bread and butter to follow, with a crisp garden salad. Service is always great and the food is top notch! The French Onion Soup was amazingly yummy! So cheesy and flavorful!! I am a creature of habit, so I always get the chicken cordon bleu and it is so delicious!! Mouth watering in fact! My hubby had the roasted duck this time and he thoroughly enjoyed it! A note for sweet wine lovers, they do have Moscato by the glass, it's just not listed on their wine menu.

I had noted it was our anniversary on the reservation but I feel like restaurants seldom take notice. Not only did many of the staff wish us a happy anniversary, our dessert was inscribed and champagne was received. The server, Max, was meticulous with detail and made sure our dining experience was top notch. We started with wine by the glass then switched to a half bottle of wine, which was perfect for dinner. For an entree, I got the Cornish game hen supreme, which I will be thinking about for a long time. It was well seasoned and the mix of accoutrements made the dish. I wish I got more of the butternut squash/carrot purée!! This will definitely not be our last time at Chanterelle!

We enjoyed a 2021 Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir with our dinner. My husband and I shared two appetizers, the beef tartare and the lobster raviolo. Outstanding! The beef tartare was so fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, there were only two pieces for $19. The lobster raviolo was filled with mascarpone and lobster topped with trout row. Decadent. One ravioli priced at $21. I had the Dover soul with almond sauce ($64) and hubby had the roasted duck ($34) for entrees. Both perfect in every way. One minor suggestion is that the Dover didn't need the frisée. It just got in the way. Our friends who recommended Chanterelle suggested that we order the Grand Marnier soufflé when we ordered our dinner because we shouldn't miss out on this dessert and it takes some time to bake the soufflé. Oh my goodness...I have never tasted something so divine, creamy and luscious. Silk on my tongue. The service from Nick and the young lady assisting was spot on. It is an expensive restaurant but I think worth the $$$$ Just be aware of the cost so you're not surprised. I've dined at Alinea in Chicago which is a 3 Michelin star restaurant ranked 9th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, and Chanterelle might be my 2nd most favorite restaurant after Alinea. Fine dining at its best!

The interior is pretty basic, small tables and small chairs, so a person of substance such as myself didn't find the seating comfortable. I tried: - French onion soup: this should have been an easy win. I found the Gruyere cheese to be overly thick, and the broth to be heavy handed on the wine. - Steak tartare: this was a good dish. The beef was thin cut, smooth, and the egg was cooked just right so the yolk added richness that then got offset by the capers. Due to the richness, you may actually find that this could be all you need for a meal, despite it looking small. - Croque Madame: le sigh, what a failure this sandwich was. Over easy egg? Not today, over medium, so not much runny yolk but a thicker one. This is a gigantic salt bomb, in addition. They serve your water in tiny glasses and every bite led to downing an entire glass of water. It's good they were on top of refilling the glasses, but even then I finished a quarter of this before I couldn't take it any more. I did saunter over to the counter where they have a lot of good looking pastries, so we'll see if the ones I bought end up redeeming this place. As it stands, I can't recommend this establishment unless you'd like to try the tartare.

We looked online for local restaurants to dine at during our stay. Neither my girlfriend or I have ever gone to a French restaurant, so we decided on The Metro Bistrot, due to all the fantastic reviews. I called and spoke with Jay (chef and owner) a week prior to make the reservation. We took an Uber from the hotel, as it's BYOB and brought a couple of bottles of wine. This was a Saturday before a big snow storm the following day. I think due to this, the restaurant wasn't as busy as usual. We ended up being seated in the back room all to ourselves. It was a very nice room that had about 4 tables. Stephanie, our server was an absolute delight! Turns out she works for the hotel as well and she's the one I spoke with when we booked the room. She opened our Beaujolais for us and brought some wine glasses. She kept the bottle chilled in the fridge for us. She went over some of the specials being prepared that night and was able to make some nice recommendations. My girlfriend ended up with the special seafood soup special with a lobster stock as a base. I ordered the escargot. Both were absolutely fantastic. She kept our bread basket filled with wonderful fresh warm bread to soak up all the goodness of the soup and escargot. My girlfriend ordered the boar shank and I ordered the stuffed quail that was stuffed with foie gras and pate. The boar meat fell right of the bone and was some of the most tender meat we've ever had. Both dishes were phenomenal. Jay stopped by our table to chat. He's super nice and even took some photos with us. We ordered 3 different kinds of cheeses prior to ordering dessert. All three we ordered were great! Stephanie also brought us a bowl of crackers to go with the cheese. For dessert, my girl had the cheesecake with an oatmeal crust and fresh berries. I'm not usually one for sweets, unless it Crème Brûlée, so I opted for the Boursin stuffed Shrimp, forgetting it wasn't an appetizer, but a main entree. It was out of this world! All the fish Jay brings in are always fresh and NEVER frozen. He even poured me a small glass of some white wine and it went so well with the shrimp. We cannot wait to go back. The prices are very reasonable and the service and food is second to none. Cheers!

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying.
