    Le Panier is a Pike Place staple. Upon walking in, you are met with delicious smells of all kinds of amazing traditional French pastries and some American additions, too. When asking for the most popular item, the friendly employee said the almondine (almond croissant) would be the must-try. I have to say- it was a great croissant, but not the best I've ever had. However, I did think the pricing was very reasonable here. There is a small selection of indoor seating, and of course, they have a full coffee menu to enjoy, too. The vibe felt somewhat formal and not the cozy local bakery vibe I enjoyed at other spots in Seattle. The hardest part about visiting Pike Place is that there is so much to choose from and so much competition. Are there better bakeries? Probably. Is Le Panier great and easily accessible on the main strip of Pike Place? Yes. That fact makes it a great choice for your pastry needs.

    There seems to always be a line for this bakery. It moved relatively quick though. There are tons of choices to choose from. I got a roule raisin. There was far too many raisins for my liking but the pastry itself was amazing. My friend got the peach tart and loved the crust. We also got the chouquettes and kouign aman. The inside can get very cramped since there is one line to order and to go the cashier.

    Cozy French bakery in the heart of Pike Place Market! Lines can get pretty long with the heavy foot traffic so get there early. There's a nice variety of pastries but the beautiful Kouign Amann caught my eye. It was pretty good, sweet crispy and flaky- it was so good that I went back in line to get more pastries. The almond and almond chocolate croissant and mushroom tart made it back to CA with me and they were tasty when revitalized in the air fryer. Recommend adding it to your Pike Place list, good breakfast or dessert/snack spot after getting some Pike Place chowder, Beecher's mac n cheese, and Piroshkies!

    One of the best French bakery in Seattle located at Pike market. We were curious of the long line outside when visited Seattle so, we decided to try and so glad we did! Our favorites are macarons, croissants and eclairs. Staff are friendly and even recommended some pastries. Do not skip their coffee too since Seattle is known for best coffee. Place can be crowded and noisy but it's all worth it; It's a must stop bakery at pike market!

    I was visiting out of state and saw this place was recommended on multiple forums. I'd say it lives up to the reviews I saw. The cafe was busy at the time and my friends and I had to sit outside while eating our pastries. I got their Almond Croissant, Eclair Espresso, and Au Jardin. Almond Croissant - Light, fragrant, and fluffy. The flavor itself was buttery, not too sweet, and was well balanced with the almonds sprinkled all over it. Would get it again. (8.5/10) Eclair Espresso - Had a nice espresso flavor to it along with the creamy filling. (8/10) Au Jardin - Tastes just as it looks, like a different form of pizza but with zucchinis. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't get it again (7/10)

    Le Panier is located right in the middle of Pike Place Market near the original Starbucks. It was 11am and I hadn't had breakfast, unsure on how to start my eating experience for the day I opted for a croissant and a latte. Le Panier definitely has that energy of a Parisian or European cafe, with wooden fixtures, pale colored walls and the "vitrina" or display where the bread is kept as well. There are at least 3-4 croissant options. I love an almond croissant, so I went for it. Their almond croissant was very almond forward. It wasnt bad it was just very almond-y. I appreciated that it was on the "flatter longer" side rather thant the ultra fluffy giant side. Something to be said about that. Their classic latte was delicious and so tasty- again something about taking a minute to drink it there rather than taking it to go. Definitely adds to the Parisian experience. All in all a great stop! if you find yourself at Pike Place Market.

    Was recommended by a friend to check this place out and this hit the mark. Coffee and bakery food was delicious. Loved their brioche, light and fluffy. Loved their wild strawberry macaron, light and sweet. Loved the Caffé Latte, a bit bitter and rich. Place was small, so at around 2 pm on a Friday, could not find an open seat as people were hanging out and relaxing here already. Overall, from my friend to me to you, I recommend!

    Everywhere I go, I have to find a bakery. I got the ham and cheese croissant and the kouign amann. Both were ok. I think I've been spoiled by SF baked goods, so nothing can compare. I read that their sweet baked goods are better so next time I'll give them a second try and get those instead!

    4.5 stars for this pastry shop. It is located in the Pike Market. This is a French bakery shop. It has good pastry and coffee. I got an Amandine pastry. It is top with slice almonds and powder sugar. The inside is cream filling. Very good for breakfast or sweet items. I also got a London fog coffee. This is coffee with tea mixed. I went there in the open hour there was no line. I noticed the line getting longer later of the day.

    I had to stop by when visiting Seattle because I kept hearing that they had good macarons. I'm very picky! Well they are by far some of the best I've had. Really delicious! My bestie had a pistachio eclair and said it was good too.

    The best French bakery in town. Everything that they make is so good, fresh tasting, and not too sweet. We really enjoyed our chocolate croissant and madeleine. Their chocolate is not too sweet and perfect amount of chocolate inside the croissant. Madeleine is crispy on the edges and the inside is more dense, different from store bought pastries and it's delicious. Their macaroon is good and the flavor I recommend is the wild strawberry. I was very happy to see they have the Galette Des Rois, a puff pastry almond cream cake that has a very beautiful history behind the cake.

    Definitely recommend the macaron. The listed price is incorrect as they went up to $2.85 each. Perfect consistency and flavors are standard

    I doubt it. It's a French Patisserie! Butter's the thing 😂!

    Is it necessary to arrive early in the day for best selection (amandine croissant, any other popular items) - do they run out by the afternoon as some places do?

    Yes, as any place going early is best, but they are always replacing what has been sold, the place gets busy but they do stop replacing baked goods close to closing time.

    Are there any glazed croissants?

    Traditional croissants-- but they have some great fillings and styles that vary. We had a fantastic cherry pistachio one a few months ago! The chocolate and almond are also delicious.

    Better to eat-in or take out? (Always packed...)

    It's nice to eat there if you r able to find a seat

The kouign amann is much smaller than others I've tried, but supremely flaky. Smaller portions just give you more reasons to buy more. The malasadas are soft and have a good custard filling. Their shokupan (white bread loaf) is probably better than ones I've had in Japan, and isn't made with preservatives, which is super rare nowadays. You can choose from thick or thin cut slices. Like many Japanese bakeries even in Japan, the fried curry bread and katsu (breaded and fried pork or chicken) sandwiches are already made, so don't expect anything cooked to order or served hot. Keeping that in mind, this place ticks off all the boxes and is worth the quick hop on the light rail.

There weren't any other customers inside and we were greeted with an empty display case in the front. While barren, the owner, a gruff* French gentlemen, confirmed that he still had choux pastry left with a choice of either vanilla, coconut, pistachio, or hazelnut. We decided to go with the pistachio, which he assembled fresh for us, first by piping pistachio cream inside the choux shell, then dipping in melted chocolate and sprinkling pistachio on top. Pistachio Choux ($6) - The choux is excellent, baked until deliciously crisp on the exterior while the inside remains soft, eggy, and tender. Since it's fresh filled and we ate it right afterwards, the cream never migrated to saturate the crust - I suspect people with issues with mushiness probably let the cream puff sit too long before consuming. The cream, which is piped to the brim, pushes out against the delicate shell, causing each bite to almost squirt out a bit of the luscious, silky whipped custard. The cream coats the lips and mouth with a layer of fat. It's not too sweet and has a light nutty pistachio flavor. The melted chocolate the top is dipped into glues on all of the pistachio dip. The chocolate is slightly bitter, yet sweet, so it helps cut through some of the rich silkiness of the cream. The pistachios on top act like a crumble, perhaps pulverized and melded with butter to create a very rich yet pistachio forward mix. It's strongly flavored, and the chocolate creates such a strong cement that none of the nuts detach while eating. (5/5) Panterelli was a huge surprise as it wasn't even on our radar until we walked past the shop randomly while exploring the Farmers Market. It's a definite revisit in the future! *The owner isn't nearly as welcoming as a typical American small business owner, but is certainly friendly and eager to chat. I also love his attitude - looks aren't that important; it's the taste the reigns supreme!
