I had heard a lot about Le Petit Triangle from friends about its high quality brunch food and affordable price, so I was excited to check it out! The restaurant seating inside is a bit limited, so I would recommend calling in advance to make a reservation. Overall, the menu has a plethora of breakfast options such as various sandwiches, french toasts, omelettes, and crepes, along with more French inspired plates such as charcuterie, escargots, and ratatouille. I chose the Croque Norvegien, which is challah bread topped with smoked salmon, spinach, boursin cheese, with a side of potatoes (the egg on top was an additional $1). The portion size I would say is smaller than other brunch restaurants, but I think it was a good amount of food that made me full, but not stuffed. One of the downsides of the visit was that service was a bit slow (we waited quite a bit for our server to take our order and to receive our food). I think they were understaffed that day though, so hopefully your experience will be more speedy! read more

We decided to go to Le Petit Triangle Café for brunch at around 12:30pm before heading to the airport. The wait to be seated was quite long as we weren't seated until around 1:15pm, but that can't be helped. The hostess offered us drinks while we waited, so I was able to get my caffeine fix before sitting down. I ordered the pumpkin steamer, which I drank in probably twenty seconds - it was very good and I highly recommend it! We told the waiter that we were in a hurry, as we had to get luggage and get to the airport by 3pm. The waiter was very understanding and brought our check immediately, which was a huge help and we were thankful for the accommodation. He assured us that the food would be out in 15 minutes, but it didn't come out until close to 2pm. However, it was very busy inside so we understood the delay but would have liked a more realistic time table so we could have made arrangements. I ordered the ratatouille shakshuka, which was very good! It had tons of delicious veggies but the tomato shone through. The acidity was cut nicely by the eggs and the toasted baguette. It was the perfect portion for brunch. My boyfriend got the Benedict, which was also incredible. The flavor in both dishes were nicely balanced. Tried calling for reservations on a Sunday morning, no answer. Showed up to get a table and the rude girl at the door said " if you wanted a reservation you should have called on Thursday " I called earlier and nobody answered! She took my name and number and said a table would be ready in 45 minutes, so we went down the street to grab coffee. After 50 minutes and no call back I called and she told me it was going to be another 15 minutes. -Still no call back so I called again and she said another 30 minutes. It was wonderful to return to Le Petit for their amazing crepes and French onion soup! In my crepe, I had banana, PB, and honey. It was TO DIE FOR. the crepes are perfectly made and the dough is delicious, sweet hints of sugar without being overpowered. Their latte is fabulous!! I've been to Le Petit Triangle many times through the years and have always had great dining experiences. When I have out-of-town guests, I try to always take them to unique, non-chain restaurants, and this place has served that purpose more than once. The inside is very cozy (read: small) but that makes it comfortable. They have a variety of different soups, salads, quiches, sandwiches, and crêpes. Also a very nice selection of wine and yummy cocktails. Even if you don't like French food, there's still plenty for you to like. And if you don't like French food, perhaps you'll change your mind after eating here. Today my husband and I were in the neighborhood supporting another local spot for #smallbusinesssaturday so I ordered our go-tos online for curbside pickup. Fun little French cafe that serves as a nice cozy gem in Tremont. Came here in early fall for outdoor seating and had a nice experience. Their food is very fresh fans perfect for brunch. Escargot was the standout dish with really fresh bread to match. The croque monsieur was good as well. Would be interested to try an omelette next time or a sweet dish. Beef banh mi was ok, definitely not your traditional Vietnamese sandwich as it has the shredded beef and is not as tangy, but still yummy in its own way. read more

We popped into the restaurant after we'd been stuck in traffic. It was 3:45, and the staff were in the middle of a changeover between lunch/dinner. We ordered a bottle of wine while we waited. When service began, we started with the mezze platter. It was an amazing combination of pickled veggies, hummus, olive tapenade, olives, bruschetta, and bread. For dinner, I had the triangle salad with salmon and my husband had the traditional Niçoise salad with added chicken. Both were perfectly portioned with fresh ingredients. For dessert, we shared the nature crepe with a pour of the Benedictine digestertive. Each course featured a few high quality ingredients, which showcased the flavors. I was in Cleveland for the weekend for my sister's bridal shower. Now I'm technically from Cleveland (Fairview Park) and currently reside in Columbus, but I just love how each time I head up to Cleveland, I am getting to experience something new and fun that I didn't even know was there. It's becoming my favorite weekend getaway! My sis had asked me in advance if I wanted to get brunch while I was there and she told me about this place. I told her it looked good, so she made reservations for a Sunday at 10a (right when they opened). Now I wouldn't think you'd need reservations for right when a place opens, but man I was totally wrong. I'm SOOO glad my sister made them in advance! It was just us two, but by the time we walked in (10:05), the place was already more than half full. We got seated right away in a tiny table by the front window. As we sat there, we saw many people walk in, get told there was a 40 minute wait and then walk right back out. That's the unfortunate thing about this place is that it's so dang tiny that even if you wanted to wait, you really can't wait inside at all. It's just too small. You could wait outside, but this particular day, it was in the high 20 degrees. Way too cold! I'd say by 10:15a, the restaurant was fully packed! So heed my advice-- Reservations are a must when going on the weekend! Since it was so cold outside, I opted for hot tea, which came out in french press style. I appreciated that since it allowed me to continue to fill up my cup on my own. As for breakfast, I went back and forth on getting a crepe or the french toast. Finally my sister and I decided that she'd get the crepe, I'd get the french toast and then we'd each share a little. We put our order in as we drank our tea/coffee and chatted. At one point, I got up to use the restroom and was able to see that there is another side to the restaurant with more tables (those that can accommodate somewhat larger parties). I believe all-told I counted maybe 15 tables. This is a tiny space for sure! I will say it did take awhile for our breakfast to come out. Maybe 30-40 minutes. We had a pretty decent view of the kitchen and could see that it's really tiny. They don't have much to work with back there! Finally our meals came and I really enjoyed my french toast! I love that they use challah bread...it's so thick and has a great doughy texture on the inside. It was a lot of food being three slices total! I ended up giving one slice to my sister. I also tasted her crepe, but ended up with a mouthful of mostly crepe and not really any of the "stuffing" so I can't rate that as much. Overall, I was pleased with my meal and would definitely come here again. Best advice I can give is to make reservations and be prepared to wait a tad longer than normal for your meal. Walk through the doors of Le Petit Triangle, and you are automatically transported to an authentic Parisian Cafe. And as a francophone who has been to ol' Paris more than once, I can vouch for the authenticity of the vibe. This place has been on my list of "must visit" locations since returning to Cleveland, and I was glad to find myself down in the Ohio City area near lunch one day last week so I could spontaneously pop in and peruse the menu. Incidentally, I had also been craving escargot recently (don't judge, if you've had a good iteration of this dish, you will, too). My eyes made a beeline on the menu towards this particular appetizer and I put my order in right away. I was not disappointed when - about 15 minutes later - my sizzling hot, fresh escargot was delivered to my table with a side of crusty baguette slices. I could smell the melted butter, garlic, and herbs wafting out of the piping hot dish, and started salivating in anticipation of my first bite. Mmmmmmmm, heavenly! The inner dragon that had been roaring for me to satisfy my escargot craving finally quieted as I knew I had a failsafe place to come the next time I got an itch for some baked snails. Food aside, everything about this place reminds me of Europe: the intimate tables, the large bar in the front, the tall windows facing the street, and decor that is warm and inviting without trying to be perfect. The service was "just enough", with my server unobtrusively refilling my water and bringing me my food, while also allowing me to peruse the novel I had brought to keep myself company. This is one of my favorite brunch places around Cleveland, always a go to for special occasion brunches among my friends. Their crepes are my usual go to (my favorite is the Chevre Strawberry Crepe). This time around I did try out their quiche and substituted the walnut raisin bread for the chocolate croissant. The croissant was perfectly flaky with warm melted chocolate inside. The quiche was average though the salad that came with the dish was delicious. My one criticism is that for the number of people who go here there never seems to be enough service to go around. This makes the entire meal go very slowly. We waited 30 minutes for our server to even take our order and another 30 after that to get our actual meals. read more

All food was a little cold (when asking about it was told their equipment doesn't let it get very hot). Like why kind of answer is that? I wonder if it would have tasted better if it was warmer (ex. cheese in the omelette and croque monsieur were not melted and even after asking for it to be melted and warmed up - waited another 10 min & the response was that it doesn't really warm like that !?!?!). So strange...but the croissant was hot and flaky. Crepes were a bit doughy and seemed like they were not fully cookies and bananas foster topping was bland. Cafe au kait was good and hot. Overall - Meh. Nice server, hostess, wait staff. Took a long time to get food. Overall, it was just ok. The first time was so beautiful, my friend and I spent about 3 to 4 hours there chatting, eating the delicious food and honestly being dazzled by the ambiance (they slowly started turning down the lights and lighted candles during the sunset and it was super romantic for those who may be looking for a date spot). Yum Yum Yum. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Ohio City part of Cleveland. It is right across from the library and when we went, there was ample free on street parking. This restaurant has some really authentic french dishes but it also has some more Americanized options for people that are not as adventurous. We started our meal with 2 shots of espresso. I know this is backwards, but it was getting late in the day and I didn't want to stay up all night. The espresso was pretty smooth, but I wish it was served with a mini Biscoff cookie like in France. We had escargot in butter and garlic with massive pieces of bread as an appetizer. I personally love escargot this way. It is so buttery and delicious. Snails are very similar to mussels but slightly larger and chewier. For lunch I had a salad with balsamic lentils and smoked trout and my man had the croque monsieur. My meal was very tasty, fresh, and light. I normally wouldn't order this but I wanted something lighter and healthier. I did have a taste of the croque monsieur and by golly that was delicious and creamy. We finished our meal with a plain butter sugar crepe which was scrape the plate good. I highly suggest going here. It is located in a slightly bizarre place, but the food is great and they have some pretty awesome options that you can't get everywhere. read more

This is little Paris. The food is equisetum and the ambiance is just right. I strongly recommend the Conard (duck) by butternut squash and blueberry reduction. This is one of my favorite spots for brunch in the summer. The outdoor seating is great in the heart of Ohio City. It is also dog friendly, so my friend enjoyed bringing her pooch along. Everyone ooo'ed and ahh'ed over her, brought her water, etc. The inside is small and everything is a bit tight, but you don't come for the space. The food is great. My husband, stepdaughter and myself visited this morning and had one of the worst dining experiences. We came from out of town, and arrived right before opening. There was already a line forming, so our first impression was great! This must be a good sign. We didn't mind the bit of a wait out in the morning at all, the weather was nice. We get seated and again, first impression was nice, the decor was traditional block colored French, tight cozy space, ambiance seemed legit. We order:a pan-crepe from the Le Enfants menu for my daughter, a mango-raspberry French toast and side of sausage for myself, and their baccalahau "benedict" for my husband. The restaurant starts to get busy, but again, we don't mind waiting an appropriate amount of time for our food at a decent restaurant. My husband is a chef himself, has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, so we are used to how restaurants run. Around 30 minutes after ordering, we ask a server how our order is going since it seemed to be taking a while. He goes and checks on our ticket, comes back and says "it's still going to be a bit." And walks away. No explanation, no apology, just walks away. We also start to notice who must be the manager or owner walk in- tall lady in a blue dress, blonde hair, red glasses. She seems to assist the servers, BUT is wearing open toed sandals and keeps going in and out of the kitchen. BIG health code violation there by the way. Around 45 minutes of waiting we ask this woman again, about our order. She says "we have a full line of checks in the kitchen and we're not even seating anymore." And walks away. No apology. Almost in a don't even ask me demeanor. She must have checked on our ticket, comes back and tells us we're two away and it should be soon. Our food arrives, around an hour of waiting after ordering. Not after seating, after ordering. The side of sausage didn't make it to the table. After a few minutes, I was able to flag down a server and point out the missing item. My French toast was dry. The salt cod on the Benedict was burned/overseared. 10 minutes later, the sausage arrives. Three, dry, obviously overworked sausage balls with a side of undressed lettuce. Escoffier would have rolled over in his grave. After waiting so long, and with such a wait at the door, we had expected so much more. Disappointment is an understatement. And at 7 months pregnant, I left still hungry. The worst part, besides the wait and lackluster food, was the lack of caring or apology or recognition of what was happening from any staff member. Sadly, I cannot see how this place has a 4.7 out of 5 stars. If they cannot staff and serve an appropriately busy brunch, then they should readdress serving at all. read more

My son specifically wanted a dish on the brunch menu, and when we arrived they were out of one of the ingredients. We had escargot and mussels, followed by coq au vin-delicious. My friend had steak and my girl scallops both scrumptious. A good wine list. We had crep suzette and espresso. It really did feel like Paris (but more expensive!). Portions were reasonable but a little small as were the snails and mussels, but honestly I could have eaten bread and the delicious mussel sauce all night.
