Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.

August 18/2015: A solo breakfast…read more Tiny little diner. Less than 50 seats for customers with an old style 50' theme. I ordered the Eggs Benedict ($17.25). Small serving but not bad taste wise. My server was very nice but wouldn't allow me to take advantage of the breakfast specials because I was there at 11:10 & the specials expired at 11:00, which I kinda understood. I found that to be a rather chinchy move in my opinion. Nothing to write home for food. It didn't really offer anything special but it was good. Peameal bacon was nicely done. I doubt I'd go again, there's not enough of a uniqueness to warrant another visit.

I remember passing by Bunchberry Diner a few months back. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. This diner used to be Mercury Diner. It's nice that the diner tradition continues here. My server was Parmida, who was sweet and competent. I ordered these items: - Chef's morning breakfast - Diet Coke The Diet Coke was fizzy and cold. I got drink refills. It was perfect. For the chef's morning breakfast, I got my eggs over-easy. I chose sausage links and whole wheat toast. It came with home fries. I got peanut butter, jelly, and jam in preparation for my meal. It didn't take long for my food to arrive. The weird thing was that this table did not have any ketchup, but all tables around me had a bottle. I had to wait a bit for Parmida to return, so I could ask for ketchup. She apologized. She told me that she normally doesn't work this side of the diner. She immediately went to fetch a bottle of French's ketchup. Yep, this diner supports Canadian. I loved my over-easy eggs. I got three perfectly runny eggs. I smeared raspberry jam on my toast and sopped up the yolky goodness with it. I got three sausage links. They were yummy. I liked having them with ketchup. The home fries were the perfect portion. They were crispy and delicious, especially with ketchup. Prices are decent here for the portions that you get. My meal was $20 after taxes. You have the option of paying with a QR code on the bill or using the payment machine. I went with the latter and tipped with my credit card. I used the washroom before I left. The sausage was good, but the bacon was huge, crispy, and had the best balance between crisp, with the chewy porky meat. What really surprised me was the hot beef. The beef was thick slices that were tender and huge portioned, and I loved how the bread was left under to soak up the juices from the beef....and to mop up the gravy.
