I'm going to give Lee café three stars... Because even though the food is pretty good... Not China Town New York good or even Great Wall in Carmel Commons good... But good for our area definitely... you also have to take into consideration attitude... So just be prepared because they have PLENTY of it. If you have the audacity to change one item... Even if you're a vegetarian and you want to leave anything meat related out of a dish... be prepared because it's tantamount to the chef having to fall on his sword...not just im sorry we won't, but distain and comments like maybe you should go to another restaurant... Sunday I called ahead and said I have a table of eight what time do you open... They said in about 15 minutes at 12 noon feel free to come over now as no one is here yet... So I brought my group over... And they sat us promptly... And we ordered...I asked for an extra bowl or two so that we could share one of the two large soup's... The waitress actually said to me and I'm quoting... Look I'm not going to run back-and-forth with bowls tell me how many you need right now because first of all you came in early... To which I replied we called ahead and they asked us to come on in early before the crowd got there... Bear in mind we were only five minutes before they opened... Open sign was on...And she said who did you speak to... I haven't had my breakfast yet and you interrupted it... (I didn't know whether to cry laughing or leave or both) I said ok look you can drop the attitude right now or we will gladly go somewhere else.... finally she realized I wasn't gonna put up with that kind of behavior... And we got a waiter who was very nice and prompt... (I'm just happy she could finish her breakfast)). This is the exception rather than the rule to that extreme... But they do have big attitude there... And while the food is good... It's not ever good enough for you to treat customers who are polite in that manner. Dear Lee's waitress... What a nice surprise that we found Lee Cafe! The super-friendly staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. The sushi is amazing; very fresh and delicious. The other food was equally great. We love it there and have been back many times and have never been disappointed. They have a true Chinese menu, as well as the "Americanized" version of Chinese food. The food was good! It was my first time visiting because I was heading to a housewarming and I happened to stop by a grocery store near by. I went in and began to ask questions about some things on their menu however, the patience level of the person assisting must have been low because she said, " come on it's only $7.95". I expressed that I was trying to get clarity on what she said because I didn't really understand her and after that I was just ready to grab my food and go! I was looking for authentic Chinese and this place was on the top of my list to check out. It exceeded my expectations! The food, the service, and cleaniness of the restaurant made it all an enjoyable, comfortable, and relaxing dinner. It's off the beaten path, but they still managed to bring in a very diverse customer base (Caucasian, Chinese, and Japanese). I heard the sushi chef speaking Japanese to a Japanese customer so that was great to see. I'm from Long Island, NY where there is an abundance of quality authentic Asian restaurants so after moving to SC 10 years ago I thought I'd never come close to having "real" Chinese food again. Didn't feel like cooking, so I stopped by Lee Café for a carry-out of Shrimp Fried Rice. While I was not wowed by the fried rice, I was not disappointed with it. Great experience! Thanks to the staff at Lee Cafe for a great dining experience tonight! I came with about 12 other people and we all really enjoyed our meals as they were served up, on time and hot. We ordered a wide variety of dishes to share and all of them were delicious; from pork belly, to fish filet(yum) to sesame chicken! I had the spicy chicken and veggie entree and man was is good! To be honest, I used to come on a weekly basis. But they haven't update their menu for 4 years which makes it boring. I am getting disappointed. I am a native Chinese. I'm not sure if it was due to the holiday rush but my recent experience here on Christmas Day wasn't good at all. The beef fried rice was very bland almost like plain brown rice. The egg rolls were just ok but with a weird aftertaste. Crab rangoons were soggy and the sesame chicken was nothing to right home about. Very disappointed given the high ratings . very very bad service. my wife and I made the reservation. we went there on time, sit down and ordered food. a lady came in and sit besides us. she had a really strong smoke smell. my wife can't stand smoke smell. we asked our waitress to change to another table, she said hold on for a little bit. then another waiter who wears a pair of glasses, a little choppy, came to us and rudely said there was no space anymore and we have to sit there. we saw there were three empty tables right besides us. we left immediately even though the food was almost ready. it was a really bad experience. read more

We were traveling through on New Year's Day, heading back from a family visit and arrived 15 minutes before they officially closed. They had already started cleaning up and had no other customers there, but still let us in (thank you!). I saw a review mention hot pot and was excited at the possibility of having good authentic Chinese food (something I haven't had since I lived in Boston) and was not disappointed! I got the seafood clay pot and my person got the Sichuan beef. When they brought it out, our eyes got huge at the portions. We thought "we didn't bring enough people for this much food!" We stated eating, and shocked ourselves by finishing everything. Both were incredible, but I wound up stealing his.
