I was immediately admitted into Long Beach Memorial. Such a scary experience all the way around - my first time in a hospital that wasn't planned. I was facing multiple surgeries. Dr. Blum was the only doctor to come into my room and explain to me what he was going to do to put my jaw back together. I never saw the other surgeons. One sent an assistant. But Dr. Blum was there to ease my fears and convince me it was no big deal. Really put my mind at rest for the first time in the hospital. The recovery wasn't as bad as I thought, having my jaw wired shut for five weeks. It was at times, uncomfortable, but temporary. In the meantime, I had follow ups and got to know his staff, all very nice and friendly. Special shout out to the office manager, Wendy. Such a help during the whole process, always warm greeting and helped me with all my questions. Office is clean and easy to get in and out of and parking is free! I'm doing much better. I look the same and I'm able to eat all the crap I want now. Almost 100% recovered. Hope I never have to see a maxillofacial surgeon again, but if I do, I'll gladly return to Dr. Blum's office.

The problem is transportation and I paid for a rental and gas visit one, visit two for the surgery I had to pay someone and put gas in their car to take me and the third time I had a friend loan me her car and had to have it back so she could go to work another 90 in gas. The reviews I see are real - Mary Ann the "receptionist" must be related to him cause she takes such liberties in writing no less. My surgery was a failure and now she writes a letter signs his name and terminates treatment in the middle of doing it. I wanted them to pay for the next unnecessary trip. The surgery had a follow up on Aug 4th I go there I had given Wendy the approvals all the work which she should have had. I was there twice since July 1st the date of the approval and I even brought one in and she said what is this (it was in an envelope) I said the approvals and she handed it back with my witness and said we have it and do not need it. Well she did. I go there after the stiches dissolve and he said to me your insurance didn't approve the facial scan. They had on July 1st in writing. Sends me home a wasted trip since he just had me open my mouth and looked. Did he not see it was not level? Because that is why I had the surgery and was to get temporary dentures till I healed. He said to me didn't you get the referral - I never did he never happened he said he would check and never did. I agree with Vanessa and Ryley and am interviewing attorneys - I reported him to Medicare you do not drop a client in treatment just because I am not satisfied with your work which by no means is level. Do not get me stared on Mary Ann - she refused to put him on the phone refused to pay the funds needed to come back after I had the approval - their answer we called you to come back - I was a 1/3 of the way home in someone else's car and had to have it back so she could to go work - I told them no I can't they said they just got the approval which was bs I had it gave it to them and they didn't even compare it to what was in my file. I can't speak or eat properly and this man won't call or get on the phone with the insurance company. I paid $250 for a CT scan, only to be given a CD that my endodontist couldn't even open. Now, I'm having to return for a new CD to give to a different oral surgeon (since I no longer trust this office and need a new referral anyway, even tho I was originally referred here to this oral surgeon). I was told my CD with the results of the scan would be ready at 1:30 pm. I arrived at 1:45 pm, but it wasn't ready. By 2:36 pm, I was told the CD didn't even have the image on it--likely the same issue from the start. When I asked about a refund, the staff argued that what I paid for was "the scan," not the CD. But as a patient, when you pay $250 for imaging, you should expect access to your records in a usable format. I never actually received what I paid for, and the lack of accountability and professionalism has been extremely frustrating. I stayed 10 minutes after they closed the clinic waiting for a resolution, didn't get my CD, didn't get offered a refund and not even a single apology. Just eye rolls and attitude.

No bone graft was necessary and he was great at explaining and giving us options! I love that. Jennifer was also amazing and so caring and kind and followed up with us to see how we were doing. $25 for ice packs, which I recommend for swelling. He is extremely competent and kind enough to explain everything to me so I could understand all the facets of the work being done. I had four extractions done including three bone grafting, one infection treatment and was able have one implant placed. This was done in less than 2 hours with local anesthesia and minimal discomfort. Afterwards I hardly had to take any over the counter pain meds. With the friendly staff and Dr. Yang's expertise I can't say enough praise about this practice. I have to be back for implant placement in six months and look forward to rest of my treatment plan. Now That's saying a lot about dental/oral surgery appointment! Forgot to mention their state of the art equipment and technical excellence. I was in a lot of dental pain and I was able to get an appointment the same day to figure out what was wrong. They told me I needed an extraction and started looking for a good time to schedule me in it was a Wednesday, and they said the earliest they could get me back in was the following Monday morning. But the next morning, they called and said they had a cancelation., Luckily, I could get an appointment within 24 hours. The office was super clean, and the staff were so nice and reassuring. Even though I was scared and anxious, the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, making me feel better during my visit. My procedure was surprisingly painless and quick. I'm so happy with my experience here and would definitely recommend it to my family and friends if they ever need dental work.
