I have no idea why this place is rated at 3.5 stars. They are definitely 5 stars when it comes to food. The flavors are exquisite and texture of dishes very nice. The flat noodles I ordered had a very good wok hei (flambe flavor), crispy at the edges, soft on the inside. The salt and pepper tofu was delicious, with a crispy coating. We ordered eggplant in garlic sauce and it was so tasty. Firm with nice color and fragrant flavors, delightful! My wife also ordered the fish in tofu. It came in a clay pot. Very nicely cooked. Reminded us of food back in Singapore and Malaysia. The service is also great. Friendly people and very quick, despite a very busy restaurant. read more

After a 7 year hiatus, we returned here for another extended family reunion dinner with some out-of-town family. In fact, it was the same reason we were here last time. We were seated upstairs in their nice and spacious banquet room, and had a delightful, comfortable, leisurely, and delicious dinner for a group of 25. The main dining room downstairs also looks modern, welcoming, and comfortable as well. The food was all quite good and also a decent value. We had 3 tables and for each table, we had their set menu dinner for 10 for $249.95, pre-tax and tip of course. You can peruse the attached food photos if interested. First, the lady didn't even greet us when we walked (looked to me as she was on her phone.) she then took a phone order before seating us. was yelling about the order in her language. very unprofessional. the waitress at first was okay.. rushing us but they were busy so i guess i get it. food came out very quickly, it was very hot. our drinks were given to us by a very kind gentlemen. however when we were about to leave after finishing our payment, the waitress hassled us about not leaving a tip. to which i responded, it doesn't say anything about gratuity so we don't have to leave a tip. she then told us next time we come just to do take out then. i'm sorry but we don't have to leave a tip? and even if we were going to, service is the key factor to leaving a tip!! sorry but definitely not coming back, there are better places on the square to go to. read more

This review is for the upstairs banquet room. My family hosted a graduation/birthday party and this room had the space to fit them. There was 80-ish people in attendance, and there was more than enough space and round tables available. It was a buffet-style self-serve line and our family also brought in their own cake, beverages, and dessert table. The setup was solid, probably more to do with my family setting that up. Food and service-wise, there were dedicated staff to help film up water, refresh the buffet line, and clean up plates. I think the overall service is a 4/5, its tough when you have 2 staff running around cleaning up and also refreshing the food, there were some lapses but nothing to egregious. The selection of food chosen was great, props to my family. -Whole roasted pig/lechon! Excellent. -Egg rolls -Crab rangoons -Potstickers -Fried fish filets -Fried shell-on shrimps -Pan fried rice noodles with beef (Guon chow ngao haw) -Beef and broccoli -Seafood with vegetables -Fried rice 4/5 stars for the food overall. While we were still discussing our drink choices, she abruptly took our menus away, forcing me to call her back to let her know some of us hadn't finished ordering. Once we received our food, the atmosphere continued to feel rushed. The servers hovered around our table like they were monitoring a school cafeteria, which made it difficult for us to enjoy our meal or have a proper conversation. They seemed more focused on clearing our plates than allowing us to relax; as soon as our plates were empty, they asked if we were done and if we needed our leftovers boxed up. With so many restaurants in the Chinatown area, we won't be returning here. Our bill came to $128, and for that amount, we'll take our business to nearby competitors. If we're going to spend our money, we'd prefer to do so somewhere that genuinely values us as customers. I can't shake the feeling of being watched like a "warden" rather than being served. This place is spacious and have big tables, which was one of the draws, as we rolled 16-people deep this time around. They also have a large upstairs dining area, where you can hosts receptions, parties, etc. The food was great!! We had some shrimp/corn soup, sweet and sour pork shortribs (my favorite!), green beans, fish fillet with chives, whole chicken, and salt and pepper shrimp. Came to explore Chinatown! We got the shrimp fried rice and chicken fried rice with veggie egg rolls. The egg rolls was okay just too much grease. The shrimp Fried rice was okay as well the chicken rice tastes a little funny my sister didn't like it. Food was decent but the service was horrible. My friends and I waited close to an hr for 2 plates of food. When we got into the restaurant, there were barely 2 tables filled including our own. My friends and I ordered a chicken fried rice, ginger scallion fish fillet, salt and pepper shrimp, sweet and sour tofu, and honey walnut shrimp. I really liked the bold flavors of the fried rice and salt and pepper shrimp! The walnut shrimp had a really good bite, but I wasn't a huge fan of eating sweet mayo. This is our go-to Chinese restaurant in China Town. Great food, healthy portions, fresh and prompt. We love the owner, as she is always welcoming and glad to see us. I been going to lee wing for 5 years already. Unfortunately i havent been happy with the vibe and food . The service is not like before. Servers were nice and patient before now they always ask for tio even if i left it on cash . A few months ago i went to eat with my family (3) and charge me 18$ of tip . Their menu is pretty extensive and they offer a variety of dishes. We had a party of 8 and plenty of space in their dining room to accommodate large parties. They even take reservations! Portions were large and we even had left overs. The crab rangoon was bland. Portion size and filling was on point, but just lacked flavored. The dumplings had a good amount of pork filling and the dough had a nice chewy bite. Be sure to top it with the ginger black vinegar sauce too! The steamed fish was delish with the black bean soy sauce. Our waitress even picked the bones out for us. Eggplant was in a flavorful garlic gravy. Eat it with rice and it's a comfort for me. Honey walnut shrimp was crispy and the sweet. The two dishes that stood out to me was the salted fish and chicken fried rice and garlic ribs. The rice was light and flavored just right and not salty. My family likes to go to Lee Wing Wah due to the fact that it can accommodate our large family of 8 adults and 5 kids. We are usually seated and served right away. Portions are decent with reasonable prices. On January 3, 2024 my customer experience at this restaurant was HORRIBLE!!! My mother and I came inside to order for takeout. My mom (who is of age) needed to use the restroom right away and I told the lady (who was working the front) if my mom can use the restroom while I look at the menu and decide. Her response "only dine in and paying customers." I told her she really needs to go and her response "order first and I'll have restroom ready" like really??! I skimmed through the menu as fast as I could, gave her my order and credit card right away just so my mom can use the restroom and not her pants!!! We will never step foot in here ever again. 07/31/21 - Nice renovation in the interior. It's quite an upgrade from what they had before especially the washrooms. The washrooms were downright nasty before. While the upgrade to the interior is nice I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed by their food both in terms of the quality and especially the quantity. All of the food use to be outstanding. The portions use to be very large now both the quantity (small portions) & quality has diminished & isn't as consistent. We ordered 3 entrees & soup. * Hot & Sour Soup still good especially when we added the hot chili oil in to spice it up. Generous portions of ingredients w/pork, tofu, bamboo nice blend of flavors * Salt & Spicy Smelt w/Jalapeños - very very disappointing to what they use to serve. The smelt portion is about 1/2 what it use to be. The smelt is fried w/Jalapeños. It was soggy & not very good. I should have returned it to the kitchen & gotten a hot crisp order instead of the soggy mess they served us (quality has really dropped off) * Fish Fillet w/Garlic, Ginger & Chinese Broccoli very good * Garlic Tong Choy - Flavor was good but I don't care for the chewy stringy vegetable I have been coming here for many years. Lee Wing Wah was packed during the annual Chinatown festival! It is great to see all of these Chinatown restaurants doing so well especially during these difficult times. On this particular visit, I tried the honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper pork, and the fried noodles with beef. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly with the most amazing mayonnaise sauce. The pork was fried perfectly. The star of the show was definitely the fried noodles with beef. They were so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The staff was incredibly rude, completely ignoring us and giving snarky, dismissive looks the entire time. This is one of the few restaurants it actually started to have indoor dining when we visited Saturday in April. It appeared that there was some social distancing or perhaps less tables inside. We were promptly greeted at the door and shown to our table. They have a huge menu with probably all of the Chinese delicacies you could imagine. We arrived around 5 PM and there were a few other tables in the restaurant which gradually picked up by the end of our meal. We opted to have the hot and sour soup, dumpling, eggrolls, barbecue pork egg foo yong, Empress chicken, and Kung pao chicken. The eggrolls were great. The potstickers were good but almost a little thick on the wrapper. We did not enjoy the hot and sour soup. It had more of a peppery or burnt taste and less than a sour spicy taste if that makes sense. Our favorite dish was the Empress chicken and when I say that broccoli was perfection I mean it the Kung pow chicken was also very flavorful. The pork egg foo yong was a little bland and came with three large patties and since I was the only one eating it I wish I was only able to get one because it was a lot of food. The portions are quite good actually and the pricing is very reasonable. Masks are required as of this review. The location look very clean in general. read more

Underserved, Subpar & No Accountability: Initially, I went to Chi Cafe but didn't realize they are closed on Tuesdays. Out of desperation, I asked one of the court way Janitors for a recommendation and he directed me to Lee Wing Wah. Immediately something seemed off because I was the only customer in the restaurant. It was so empty, the staff were dining in sharing a platter. Still I was hungry; promised the family Chinese food; drove 20 minutes out & paid for parking. I ordered 2 large jumbo shrimp fried rice. Simple & easy right? Wrong! Cost me like $43 compared to $33 at Chi Cafe. When I got home to eat, both boxes were filled with fried rice but little to no shrimp. I literally counted 3 shrimp in one of the two order alone and the food was subpar. I was so disappointed, I felt compelled to reach out to them and share my discontentment with their services. So, I called them this afternoon and asked to speak to a manager; a lady answered and said there's no manger to speak to and immediately hung up the phone. Made 2 more attempts but "the called party dialed can not be reached at this time". REALLY! SMH!! Never again! read more
