I am from out of state and always stop at Lefty's for the pizza. The good thing about Lefty's is that they use regular ovens.

Does the owner even check these reviews? From the outset there were hints of trouble. This place closes at 10pm. We arrived at 9:05pm, the chairs were all up and the place was all but closed up. We should have walked, right then. A solitary man working behind the counter tossing dough asks. "What do want?" I replied a large veggie pizza. At that point another one of the employees comes out and rings us up. After about 10 minutes I asked how much longer, as my wife wanted to go for a cruise. The man who originally asked us what we wanted said "12 minutes." We went for a ride, returning 15 minutes later. The man who quoted us the time was leaving and said it would be done soon. 20 minutes later the pizza was done. Omg! Disgusting, totally inedible. It's like pizza soup! So unbelievably SOGGY. A very underrated pizza parlor, according to Yelp reviewers, is Lefty's Pizza! It's name is due to the famous "lefties" of the world for which you will find on the wall of the back dining room. Located in a strip building on the south side of the valley, Lefty's has a quality to it consistent of pizza found in NY. The dough is a very good quality, the sauce is equally impressive, and the meatball topping is a very nice quality of beef! They also use a very good grade of cheese for the pizzas which is hard to come by outside of NY. The meatball topping is the only type of pizza that I've tried, but I'd suggest any of their toppings would be worth the try! First time I've tried this place and unfortunately I'm not a fan of their pizza. The wings were awesome but the pizza, sorry. First off my order was late, when I called to check on the order, they couldn't even find my ticket and he had to ask everyone else if my order went out yet.....the pizza was soggy, not like your typical NY pizza which is greasy, this was soggy and the taste was not good at all....I've had much better pizza in town. I even tried the pizza again a second time as left overs are always good and still nope not good at all. The crust has no taste to it, the pizza itself did not even taste like regular pizza...I don't know if it's the sauce or the meat they use, I'm just not sure but almost all of a XXL pizza went to the trash. I even had friends over and they did not like they way the pizza tasted, so it was just not my opinion. I asked if they wanted to take some home and they said nope, just throw it away....that was a waste of $35... I've received quite a few menus on my door for this place before. I'm never ordered from them before but tonight I was craving pizza. I ordered through the Eat24 app and the food was at my door within 40 minutes. I ordered the one topping pizza, pepperoni, and a basket of fries. The fries are thicker cut, which I prefer, and the pizza hit the spot. I was almost tempted on trying a stromboli or calzone, but I guess that will have to be for next time. read more

So far I've only had the chicken wings, but they are very good. I tried them one night for a test run to make sure they were good. And they definitely passed the test so I came back for a large order for fight night. Everyone loved them. Blue cheese is also good. Great consistency and flavor. Staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered and paid online and my food was ready when I arrived. They also offer delivery which is nice. Wings are cooked perfect, crispy but not dry. I ordered hot and they have a good spice but not too hot. Definitely my new favorite for takeout wings! One of these days I'll have to try the pizza or other menu items. read more

I'm very hard pressed in finding a pizza I enjoy in Vegas, solely due to the fact that I like a certain combination of textures that most pizza places don't readily provide: crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. I usually open my reviews with a sense of the ambience, or who I was greeted by. However, I've only had pizza here two times: once as a takeout recommendation of a student, and another as a gift from the same student. Both times were equally as good. Onto the food. Both times, I had the Babe Ruth pizza (the name of the restaurant btw is a clever pun for any Babe Ruth fans). This is a simple pizza with onions, meatballs, olives, and pepperoni. The sauce leaves just a smidge to be desired, but the toppings more than made up for the flavor here. The onions were nice and aromatic, and the meatballs and the pepperoni added a very nice umami to the overall mix. There were 2 game changers here. The first game changer is the crust. It is VERY difficult, in my opinion, to get a crust with crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside texture. This is my absolute favorite combination, especially when the outside is almost like a cracker. The next game changer is the Ranch. While I cannot attest to the validity of the statement, I have been made aware that the ranch is made in house (thanks student!). The taste speaks for itself. It's delightfully creamy and slightly tangy. I'm usually not a ranch on pizza guy, but I think I could drink this stuff. The overall whole meal was ABSOLUTELY greater than the sum of its parts. I'm completely happy with how the pizza came out! Overall: nice vibe, nice pun, nice pizza. 8/10 will schmack again. (P.S. The anti-flyer ppl are kinda annoying aren't they. Had a few friends over and we agreed pizza sounded great. One suggested that they really enjoyed their first time trying Lefty's Pizza a few weeks ago. I'm a pizza slut, so I'm always down to try new places. I took my friend's advice and ordered what he ordered the first time, which was The Popeye (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, spinach, and garlic, if I'm not mistaken), as well a side of garlic knots. I asked for the pizza to have light sauce and to be baked well done. We initially were going to order through Grubhub (which was a thirty-minute waiting time), but opted to have it delivered directly from Lefty's instead (which pushed the delivery time to an hour). No big deal, we're watching a movie anyway. An hour and ten minutes later, it arrives. My friend had failed to mention that they only carry one size, and it's ENORMOUS- which is normally great, but the pizza is Sicilian style so it's beyond thick, too. It's just too...bread-y. If you order from this place, make sure you invite over a large group of starving friends. This was just one of the few issues I had with the order. First the pizza: The dough had a nice consistency, however the crust was somehow petrified; like crack-your-teeth hard and had absolutely no flavor. Just plain bread. The sauce was wayyy too much despite asking for light and was weirdly watery and bland. The pizza had absolutely no presence of garlic whatsoever as well as a very sparse sprinkling of spinach. However, the worst part of the entire thing was the ricotta. The crust was overdone, an occasional consequence of asking for well done that I accepted...but when you bit into the pizza, the ricotta was still cold in the middle! I'm not sure how that's possible, but the pizza managed to get increasingly raw as you made it to the center. The entire thing had next to no flavor and was overly watery, probably due to the moisture of the spinach and pounds of ricotta piled on. The garlic knots: They were wayyy overdone, despite not requesting so, which makes me believe they make have cooked the wrong thing well done, as the pizza was underdone. They were tough enough where you couldn't pull them apart with your fingers, but with a bite only- and even that was difficult. The weird thing about them was they were were covered in garlic...but didn't taste like garlic. They just tasted like...bread. The same flavor as the crust. With such bland food; hot sauce, crushed red pepper, ranch, and Italian seasoning were vital. I will compliment them on their ranch. It was quite tasty and I used the leftover ranch the coming week with other food, lol. What you see pictured ended up going into the garbage, unfortunately. I was just happy that my buddy picked up the bill, haha. I see a lot of good reviews on this place and my friend enjoyed it in the past, so maybe this was just a fluke. We live about 1/2 of a mile from this restaurant. Last night we ordered a bucket of wings and French fries. We told the guy who took our order what the cross streets are and he stated he knew exactly where we live. We were quoted 40 minutes for delivery. After an hour and thirty minutes passed we called to find out where our delivery was? The guy said the driver was lost. They remade the food and would deliver it in 20 minutes. I have only had the Pizza here so excuse me if my review isn't thorough. I've eaten at at least a dozen local (family owned) pizza joints in Vegas so YES there will be comparisons. Their pizza is decent. Nothing to write home about. I had a 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni since this is the first time and this is the base test for any pizza place. Their crust is pretty bland. The toppings are OK but they use a tad too much seasoning with the garlic and oregano. Their buttermilk ranch dressing is pretty good though. I just wish they gave you a larger cup of it because, even with 2 of those little cups it's not enough for a 16 inch pizza. read more

I was grateful to receive a free coupon for a large cheese pizza or spaghetti dinner and thought I'd give them a shot. Staff was very kind. I went in to place order and had it in 15 minutes! I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were good, not great, but the sauce was very bland for our taste. We're not afraid of flavor. That being said, we also thought the pizza was OK. Crisp crust, almost too crisp, bland sauce. Pepperoni was yummy, wished there was a lot more. Being a 1st timer, not sure if we will order again.
