I'm so disappointed! After years of loyalty to this business (my husband has 15-20 shirts cleaned here every month in addition to pants and suits), they have totally dropped the ball! He brought in a pair of pants to be hemmed and when he got home, one leg was noticeably shorter than the other. That's annoying, but it happens. Here's where customer service goes downhill... When he took the pants back to have them fixed, the clerk tried to convince him they were done correctly by shifting the pants on the counter so the hem matched up. He had to try them on again "to prove" to her they were off. Finally she agreed and took the pants. When he picked them up along with other dry cleaning, he noticed the charge was high. (On a side note, they do not provide itemized receipts, so the customer doesn't know what they've been charged on each item). When he inquired, the clerk said he'd been CHARGED AGAIN TO FIX THE HEM THAT WAS THEIR MISTAKE! He explained the situation and are you ready for the response.... "I can't give you a refund." Are you kidding me? The original fee to hem pants was $24. The additional charge to fix one leg was $12. $36 to have pants hemmed is ridiculous, but as we all know, it's not always about the money. This establishment has lost a longtime loyal customer who has spent hundreds, no THOUSANDS, of dollars here over the years... over $12!!!! This is a reminder to business owners- who you have at the counter is important. The person who represents you and your company is important. Hire people who understand customer service and who understand the importance of relationships. It makes a big difference. We are taking our business elsewhere. read more

Super disappointed by both the dry cleaning and tailoring services here. It's a shame since they are conveniently located near where I live, but I've had too many bad experiences now...honestly, I was putting up with their high prices for so long because I was too lazy to go anywhere else but enough is enough. 1) I took a silk blouse with mother of pearl buttons in to be dry cleaned. All the buttons came back broken. After I asked them about it, they said this often happens and there's nothing they can do about it. They didn't even offer to refund the dry cleaning cost. When I asked if they would replace the buttons, they reluctantly said "yes, but you have to bring us the new buttons." So I went to buy the buttons....then, when I picked up my blouse a few days later, I tried it on and the buttons were not lined up correctly. The tailor *actually* had the nerve to tell me "maybe it's because you got fat". Seriously!? The blouse fit perfectly before they ruined the buttons. 2) Even after that rude encounter, I tried to give them a second chance by asking them to add pockets to a brand new blazer. When I went to pick up my blazer a week later, I realized the pockets were too shallow to fit my iPhone. This is partly my fault because I didn't specify exactly how deep the pockets should be and just assumed they would make them deep enough. But when I asked if they could redo the pockets and make them deeper, they wanted to charge me nearly the same price I paid the first time! That would've been $40 + $35 = $75. Absolutely absurd. More than the cost of the original blazer too! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me...never again. read more

I am leaving a late review because i have now realized that this place completely ripped me off. I went in to get a dress hemmed and pressed a few months ago and they wanted to charge me $75. I said that seemed very high and they said that's the going rate. I didn't get it pressed and still spent $50 for a simple hem. The owner and alterations woman were both a bit rude and the place reeked of cigarettes. Today i tried a different cleaners near by and got another dress hemmed and pressed for $20. The first time I went I took 10 of my boyfriend's shirts which cost $35. When we got them back none of the stains were out. All of the collars and sleeves still had sweat stains. However my boyfriend failed to mention this to me. There is really only one parking spot unless you are handicapped. The second time I went I took 5 blouses, 1 sweater, 2 pairs of pants which cost me $65. When I went to get dressed this morning I saw that none of the stains were taken out. When I talked to my boyfriend he told me that all of his shirt still had stains too and they didn't starch them. Both times it took two business days to get the clothes "cleaned." I chose this place because of the yelp review but the reviews are not correct because they give customers discounts for leaving a 5 star review. Don't believe the stars, they're lies. Basically, this place sucks. There is practically no parking, its super expensive, and worst of all they dont even clean it. I wouldn't mind this place if our clothes actually came back clean, but it is ridiculous to pay $65 and still have stains. DONT GO HERE. read more

About 6 weeks ago we took a brand new jacket to Legacy Cleaner The jacket was damaged Initially their response was that it came in already damaged. That response alone has set my mind set... after arguing with them they acknowledged that it was damaged and that it needed to be repaired. The customer service attendant while not wanting to deal with the issue accepted the fact that the jacked needed to be repaired and said the manager will be contacting me. Since then I have made now 3 or 4 different calls to find out the status. Every time I hear that more time is needed etc. they offered to fix the jacket with a different material which is unacceptable All I want is for them to fix it they damage they cause it and should be repaired with the same fabric. It has now been 6 weeks since then and when I call the manager is either not there has left will be back in the afternoon etc. Not how an issue is to be resolved I am now expecting a call from the owner ...wait and see read more

I rarely use dry cleaning services but after switching to a King sized bed it's become a service I require for our duvet. The staff was friendly, turn around was 2 days, and pricing was totally fair! Oh my god !! I am so unhappy !! I brought a formal dress and a wool coat in for cleaning .. and was so happy that they were able to have it done for me in two days .. I was happy it was done on time !! I was going out of town for wedding .. packed the dress and wool coat ( still in their plastic wrap ) get there and open up the dress .. not only did they not get out the little spots .. but the melted the dress in the areas where the spots are !!!!!!!! I am so angry !! And open up my coat .. omg .. not cleaned and all ... still has spots all over... and not clean at all omg ... and coat is completely shrunken !!! Excellent Tailor!!! I just can't say enough nice things about this dry cleaning service & their tailor, Roman!! He is a seriously good tailor; so long overdue for our area! I've had few items tailored and he went above and beyond making the garment fit me the way it should. He really knows how & where to make the alterations which makes all the difference in the fit & functionality. Recently, I brought him a dress with a difficult problem to fix. Update per business response on another review site: The only true part of their response is that Legacy Cleaners said they would have to send out the dress for specialized cleaning for around $250. However, this is where the truth ends. Legacy stated that they could clean the veil separately for $15. That seemed reasonable to me, so I decided to leave the veil and conduct more research to determine whether I wanted to leave the dress with them at a later date. Immediately after leaving Legacy, my husband and I even had a discussion about this because we were wondering why Legacy would be able to clean the veil and not the dress. We thought perhaps the reasoning was that the dress contained lace when the veil did not. When the veil didn't come back with the order, and all of the back and forth I described earlier ensued, Legacy finally agreed to review their security footage to confirm we actually left the veil. Of course we knew we left it there, so we were waiting for them to get back to us. In the meantime, my husband dropped off photos of the veil at their sister location in Encinitas where they said they sent our clothing to for cleaning. He then tried to drop off photos at Legacy to help aid them in their search and Legacy REFUSED to take them. Someone from there called him once and yelled at him claiming we never left the veil. My husband could barely get a word in, but was able to deescalate the situation and the person on the other end eventually agreed (again) to review the security footage and get back to us. No call back. He called about twice a week asking them if they had reviewed the security footage and they simply kept giving him the runaround (yelling, mind you, on the phone) until they finally claimed they would no longer help him. They either have no interest in reviewing the security footage OR they reviewed it, realized they lost the veil, and are avoiding us now. The latter seems like a real possibility at this point. Not only will we never patronize their businesses again, but I'll make sure to advise my colleagues in the area to avoid this unprofessional business, especially in terms of any business contract work. Unfortunately, my husband and I are forced to take further action (potentially of a legal nature in small claims court) in order to have this matter resolved. If Legacy refuses to return the veil, then we need to be compensated for damages, as appropriate. Legacy, a dash of professionalism and an apology would have gone a long way here. read more

I dropped off my NEWcashmere jacket here for cleaning, and when I picked it up, I discovered it had been ironed at high temperature. Cashmere cannot be ironed like this. My jacket was ruined. I do not understand how they could have made such an obvious mistake. When I spoke to them about this, the owner said she did not even understand what the problem was, and she sent my jacket to be dry cleaned and ironed again without my permission which made it even worse. When I took my jacket to another cleaner if they can make it even little better they said it was clearly ruined. The owner then said she was going on a trip for two weeks and would figure it out afterwards. I do not see how she is going to fix this because she does not seem to acknowledge the fact that my jacket is ruined and cannot be fixed. Another round of dry cleaning will only make it worse it worse at this point. So I do not recommend coming here if you have anything that requires special care. Update: I received a call from them a few weeks later, and was told that they will give me a $100 check and $50 store credit. But honestly, I did not want to give them any further business because it was not about the money. I was deeply disappointed in how they handled their mistake and their customer service. Anyways, there was nothing I could do to get my new cashmere jacket back, so I felt I had no choice but to take their offer. I went to their store for the $100 check. But they told me that I had to delete my Yelp review in order to get the check. If they had just been apologetic and tried to make up for their mistake, I would have happily deleted the Yelp review. In fact, I would not have even made the original post if they had provided good customer service from the beginning. However, the way the owner treated me so dismissively is why I'm upset right now. I just had to make this post because the attitude I am getting is they do not care about the customer and only made an effort once my negative review was impacting their business. The owner responded to my post asking me to contact them so they can assist me, but really it was just damage control to get rid of my review. Frankly, this was not even the first time something like this has happened, but I had decided to give them another chance. Apparently, that was a mistake. She assured us she would finish them by the end of the night to get back to us. We told her we needed them by Friday and she said I'll have them back by the end of the night. Perhaps I was just extremely unlucky. I dropped off 18 shirts to be cleaned. They were ready on time, but of the shirts I had dropped off, 6 of them came back with major issues - from rips to stains. When I brought the problem shirts back in a few days later, they had an explanation for each one... mostly having to do with what they alleged to be the age of the shirts that had ripped. Those shirts were not ripped when they went in to Legacy Cleaners. If they came out ripped, the least Legacy could do would be to not charge me. That just adds insult to injury. Actually, they should be offering me more than just refunding me the cost of cleaning, since I will never be able to wear those shirts again. They did take back 4 of the shirts to try again. One stain, which was 100% their fault, on a relatively new shirt, came back with their stain again. They said it must be something about the shirt - "it's bleeding". Anyway, I didn't want to bother arguing with them. It's not worth my time. But what a disaster of a cleaners. And by the way, I was paying their "discounted rate" of $2.30 per shirt (they have since dropped that cost to $1.95). That's not really inexpensive. I know many cleaners when I can have my shirts laundered for less, particularly if I'm dropping off 18 shirts. Overall, I am completely unimpressed with this place. Yes, the store front is nice. I like their cash registers too. But their service is abominable. I still can't believe that they offered me nothing after relegating 6 of my shirts to non-use. If I was retired, I would write a demand letter and then take them to Small Claims Court. But who has that kind of time? read more

I have used Legacy Cleaners for dry cleaning before (which has been great and really convenient) and just had another great experience with getting a bridesmaid dress altered. The dress turned out beautifully, the prices were very reasonable, and they even finished it a few days early. The only unfortunate problem is that this business lost 4 of my shirts and there was a delay in resolving the situation while we waited a few months to see if the shirts would turn up. They did not. Eventually the owner/manager Usha was very nice and contacted me multiple times to tell me they would compensate me per the policy on their receipt. Which they did. $110. And a $25 store credit. The shirts cost me $440 new, but this helps. Otherwise they seem to do a good job cleaning. read more
