I used to live in the neighborhood for the past 20 years. Me and my family moved away from the area, but still come back here. Legends is a great pizza spot either for carry out or eating in the dining room and watching some sports on the TVs. Been here for a kids birthday party and it worked out great. Staff have always been super friendly and always made it feel like a family environment. Our family likes to get the All Pro. Good pizza with mediocre customer service. I dined in and watched as staff started their closing procedures (such as putting chairs upside down on tables) at about 8:15pm when the hours listed for closing is 9pm. I went to order a beer at 8:35pm and I was told that alcohol is not served after 8:30pm because they close at 9pm. A few minutes after that - someone walked in to order something and they got turned away because apparently they also stop taking food orders at 8:30pm. Why not change the hours of operation that are listed online and outside of the restaurant to match when employees start closing up shop? Why not lock the front door so people can't come in expecting to be able to place an order? It would be nice to be able to dine in without feeling like you're being rushed out 45 minutes before closing time. read more

This review is regarding takeout! But this popular pizza joint in Almaden has been around since I was a kid. I used to come to team parties, and my parents often ordered from here. I haven't been a huge fan of this place growing up, they add a bunch of cheese, and the pizza crust is mid. Recently changed my opinion on this place when I ordered the Creamy Garlic Chicken pizza. I love the pizza from Legends; there is no other pizza place that beats this spot. The crust is soo delicious and I normally dont like to eat the ends. But, for this pizza is just soo yummy, I cant leave the ends. The reason why I an leaving a 4 star review and not a 5, is because half of my pizza was supposed to be pepperoni and bacon. However, there wasnt much bacon on my pizza. Normally, when I order from this place its packed with bacon. But, unfortunately not this time. Also, pizza is pricey a large half pepperoni and "bacon," and half pepperoni, salami, and jalapeno it was $36. I know theres other places where you can get pizza, wings, breadsticks, and a soda for that price. Yet, Legends pizza is really, really good. Theres just no comparison. read more

Went there for a halloween party, and the staff all was helpful. The personal size pizza that I ordered was pretty good. However, got home, and straight to the bathroom. Had really, really bad diarrhea, and stomach pain. Lasted until the following morning. Dont wish it an anyone. Was thinking of calling them the next morning, but figured one of the people from the bingo party contacted them with the same issue. First time at this Almaden location, and wasn't impressed. My husband called in for pick up and the girl who answered the phone was monotone and unfriendly. Pictures online looked good so I wanted to give it another chance from the disappointing Cupertino location. I had tried Legends years back in Cupertino when they took over McHarts location. We loved McHarts but wasn't impressed by Legends. Since we moved in Almaden area, we have been looking for a good pizza place so we wanted to try it again. We got a pepperoni pizza which was dry and lack of cheese and sauce. We also got the garlic chicken pizza which was delicious but again the crust is dry. Probably wouldn't go back. I've been coming to Legends for years now and have to commend them on their consistency. Their pizzas are all extremely fresh and the crust is the perfect combination of crispy and chewy. The Vegetarian and The Catch are our family favorites and they do not skimp on the toppings. Some pizzas don't taste as good when you carry out but that's definitely not the case here -- This is a local pizza joint that truly hits the spot every time. The ambiance inside is sports bar-esque with a community feeling. I love that it's often staffed by high school kids. It would be great if they had some more vegetarian-friendly options for appetizers and the prices feel a little high but are in line with other private pizza places. read more

My friend and I came here on a Saturday around 12:15pm. There were plenty of parking spots and nobody was here. Their menu had a lot of choices for pizza as well as a description of each. I ordered a small The Legend ($16.99) and a fountain soda ($2.50). My friend ordered a small Creamy Garlic Chicken ($18.99) and also a fountain soda. The girl at the register was nice and friendly. It took a long time for the pizza to bake and was probably around 20 minutes or more. There were a few TV's around so that helped pass some of the time away. Both of our pizzas came out at the same time to our table. Both looked pretty good to me and it wasn't because I was hungry. I tried my friend's Creamy Garlic Chicken and it was good to me. The garlic wasn't overpowering in my opinion. The Legend was good and pretty much a combination or supreme equivalent like a lot of pizza places. I would recommend either of those pizzas. A small would be enough for a hungry person; otherwise, you'll probably have some leftovers. I thought the pizza here was good and wouldn't mind coming back to try other things on the menu. read more

Very generous on the toppings certainly and always fresh ingredients, but the crust is really why you come to get a pizza here. YUCK! First time trying this place and I can honestly say don't walk to the nearest exit..RUN! Worst customer service ever. Ordered online, they told me to be there exactly at 12 noon to pickup. Pizza was not ready yet, waited until 1230 finally got it after talking to the manager who was very, very rude and waiting 30 minutes beyond promised time to pick it up. Awful customer service. Now, here's where it gets interesting. I got the pizza home and I could clearly see that someone spit in my pizza! So gross. Called to do a credit card chargeback because of the awful service here. For the high price, it's a very generic pizza. Something you expect on a frozen pizza for $5.99 not in the $35.00 range. Minimal toppings with a 2 1/2 inch crust. I must say this pizza place is above average. I'm giving this a pizza place a 8.4 out of 10. The pizza has generous amount of toppings, cooked well and a great bite. The sourdough dough really kicks it up a notch. So far I would place this San Jose pizza joint in the top of their class. You can get a thick crust or a thin crust option. I wish that I could get double Thick crust, maybe next time. I will be back to try other combinations however, I must ask to do some do some modifications. Thanks legends. read more
