Wow! I have seen this food truck parked near one of my favorite Mexican Food Restaurants and had not given it much thought to try until last night! So glad I did! The fish and shrimp tacos are amazing! The flavor profile of the shrimp broke the mouth! The pineapple salsa on top of the fish taco with fresh greens also gives you that unique Island style taste that has you wanting more! I've found another Kailua local spot to satisfy my taco cravings! Five Fabulous Stars for Flavor, Friendly Service, Fast and Fantastic Food!

When a place has a sign that says world famous tacos I don't even take it serious anymore, but if there is a world famous award this place deserves it. We really struggled to find their location, seemed post covid it wasn't regularly updated, on a whim found their location on Instagram at a distillery so we hustled over there. The shrimp and rice in the pineapple was beyond amazing, pretty sure I licked the fork when I ran out of shrimp. The Thai chicken tacos were very good as well but I'm not a sour cream fan so I had them without sour cream. Can't say enough great things about the food and service, just hard to find.

Two big tacos. If it's slow, they can do one of each, instead of two of the same. I got the fish taco and Thai chicken, which is what she said are their most popular. Leilani works inside alongside her husband. They're very nice and I love their business. The food overall is just ok. There Thai chicken is super duper spicy, but doesn't really have the flavor behind it. It's just kinda hot for boy's sake and isn't very enjoyable. The fish taco I was really looking forward to, but it fell flat. I love the portion size. I was very full. I like the spicy sauce on the side. They are at this spot weekdays 4-10pm I think, so not a lunch spot. Overall, I was more excited about this place before. I think the flavors need to be upped. The customer service and idea of the entire thing is really great, but food is food, and this visit just wasn't that memorable for me personally.

Love that they have this option in the brewery!! I ordered my curry-inspired tacos without the tortillas and they were completely willing to accommodate my request! It was extremely flavorful and I loved the uniqueness of the taco options. We got the spicy sauce with our meals and although it was deliciously flavored, it was overly spicy to the point that neither of us could really eat it. And we both LOVE a good hot sauce. It was the spiciest either of us had ever had.

Finally managed to catch this spot! Their menu is fairly "simple" but I love it because I'm indecisive as it is. All of the tacos are $10 for 2 and It surprised when I opened the to-go box ...they're pretty big in size! We ordered the shrimp tacos and al pastor tacos and shared. Definitely more than enough food! The Al Pastor was packed in the tortilla, which was delicious and light BTW, and also filled with cabbage, greens and topped with a delicious pineapple salsa. The salsa really complimented the meat - perfect touch! The shrimp tacos had cabbage/arugula and were topped with a sauce that tasted like a sour cream, lime and cilantro mix. Very tasty! Between the two, I did prefer the al pastor but neither disappointed. Excited to go back to this spot and try the other fusion tacos. The tacos come with their house salsa ...it's spicy, FYI! Amazing, nonetheless.

Mahalo To Lelani And Will for hosting Delta Air Lines End of Summer Event. They came on Site and served over 150 plates to our staff in 5 hours. Great turn out and everything went according to plan. Lelani and Will had everything under control and were very organized. I would definitely recommend them. Not to mention their tacos are delicious and huge. Thank you for making our event successful!

Love this spot! You get a lot of taco for your money here, and when the menu says spicy it means SPICY! My go to order are the shrimp tacos which are very mild and the spicy Thai chicken. You can usually find the truck parked in the far side of the Pali Lanes parking lot.

Went to Lanikai brewing and the little one had a hankering for some Tacos. Luckily, Leilani's Taco Truck was parked outside and we ordered some chicken tacos to satisfy that appetite. Though it seemed a little steep at $10 for 2 tacos at first, they do really pack it on on their tacos. Coming from LA, I'm used to the smaller sized street tacos for $2. Well, these were about 2.5x bigger so I guess $5 each is about right. Since I didn't order the tacos, I wasn't sure exactly what was inside. However, I did end up eating a whole taco by myself because these definitely were not kid size! One was enough to fill me up and the chicken was seasoned well, along with some kind of crema, cilantro, onions, carrots. I did wish the tortilla tasted a little fresher but finding good tacos in Hawaii versus LA is definitely a challenge. Will definitely hit up Lanikai Brewing again and hope to pair it with some more of Leilani's goodness!

Boyfriend did a quick Yelp search and found the food truck. We got super lucky that they had just set up and there was no line. The food takes a while to cook but it's worth the wait! The tacos were absolutely delicious, possibly the best fish tacos I've ever had. The fish was perfectly grilled and savory, the chicken was well seasoned. The best part is the pineapple sauce, perfect balance of sweet and savory. When I'm Hawaii, I will visit again!

    Crabcake tacos mmm mmmm. Good!!
    Martha M.

OMG, these tacos were bomb!!!! I had the crab cake tacos, my daughter the chicken tacos. They were equally delicious. You get two filling tacos for $10 bucks! The owner was quite gracious & accommodating. They had a table there for you to sit and eat, and of course a cute little family came and hogged up the entire table, while a cute couple came and saw their frustration of figuring out where to eat. Since we were about done, we got up & instructed my daughter, lets leave so these people have a place to eat. They thanked us & I told them, yup, it was empty for a good while & then these people showed up and consumed the entire table, but implying, it's not us, its them. But enjoy your tacos and they were thankful. In the end......good tacos/food & sharing and caring! That's what it's all about. We came back two days later, to find they weren't there :( Well, Leilani's tacos, I hope you are there, when we come back to Hawaii, hopefully this December, please be at Sandy Beach!!! Also, they take Debit!

Came here on a Tuesday (taco Tuesday to be exact), around 6:00pm. Lelani's is a food truck parked right outside Lanikai Brewing which is clutch if you're hanging at the brewery and want a snack. We placed a large to-go order - in total about 24 tacos. Our order took a while to come out - about 25-30 mins, but we appreciated Leilani letting us know upfront so we could plan accordingly and grab a beer at the brewery while we waited. Each taco order comes with two tacos and are priced $10 or $12 based on the protein. I ordered the shrimp tacos ($12 for 2). Overall, pretty good, not incredible but definitely flavorful. I got to try my mom's jerk chicken taco because it was way too spicy, and it lit my mouth on fire. I was glad I ordered the shrimp. Service was impeccable - Leilani was very accommodating, labeling all boxes items according to order. Probably won't go out of my way to eat here, but if I'm in the area/at Lanikai Brewing I would stop by.

Bean Sprout Tacos (2 for $10): Please forgive this truly terrible photo of truly delicious vegetarian tacos.

I decided to have dinner and drinks with one of my best friends after a photo shoot at Kailua beach park. Their margaritas are served in fishbowl glasses and so yummy! I also ordered their Birria tacos with consommé. It was okay. I felt like I tasted more oil and grease and couldn't put my finger on the taste of the consommé sauce. Our waitress was so kind and upbeat. But don't let that deter you. We waited quietly and patiently at the check in counter, and watched the staff walk between taking orders, delivering water and dishes. No one caught our eye to say we'll be with you in a minute, even if they stood right in front of us touching their counter pad. We thought we were being ignored. We didn't try to stop anyone, though. Others from behind squeezed past us to just get seats at the bar. However, we had a group of five wanting to dine in at a table. I watched as seated guests waited for someone to take their orders. As soon as staff were able to engage, we were greeted, and advised where we'd be seated once another staff member had mopped the floor by the table. And then the service was great from there. Well into our meal, which was delish(!), with water refills and requests fulfilled, we discovered there was a brand new gal on deck who was trying to be helpful with utensils and napkin prep, but no one had a chance to train during the lunch rush, which was above the normal crowd because of the wonderful community event right outside - the "I Love Kailua" street fair). Everything was just super busy. And I say lunch rush with tongue in cheek because it was well past the lunch hour and people were still lining up out the door. So glad everyone was patient and were able to enjoy their food and beverages (we weren't drinking but those margaritas looked fire!) in air conditioned comfort. Don't forget to ask for the salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. Once staff are in rhythm, everything works out.
