Large portions. Might be hard to see in photo, but the plates are about 12" wide.

The food here is excellent. Only issue is, when you order online for PICKUP. They give you an estimate time your order will be ready. For example 12 -20 minutes, but they don't always text you that your is ready. So, I go in 30-35 mins later and the order has been sitting there for awhile. Another restaurant around the corner, Hong Kong Chef delivers faster and texts you in real time when order is ready.

Our 19th hole was here yesterday. We were party of six. Our friends have been coming for awhile but it was first time for hubby & myself. Plates, cups, and a pot of tea were brought to our table soon after we sat down. You need to scan the QR code to view the menu. It also enables you to add items into a shopping cart. However our friend said the server will take your order with an iPad. So we waited. I showed the server what hubby & I wanted to order. Screenshots actually from the menu. But one of our two orders were wrong. Ordered - * I ordered garlic beef with fried egg over white rice in stone pot. * hubby ordered chow fun beef stew in curry sauce. But got soft scrambled egg ho fun with shrimp & scallops. Good portion size. The server insisted the order was correct. Something lost in translation although pictures speak 1000 words. Hubby was disappointed with his dish. We swapped 1/2 way. Overall experience took away from the food. 3 stars as a result.

Second time writing a review for this place! Got the Hong Kong Style Toast this time and it was delicious! It is served warm with syrup and butter on the side! This is a great appetizer/dessert to share! The Baked Chicken with Red Sauce was delicious as well! I always prefer getting the red sauce over the white sauce at this Hong Kong cafe.

very diverse menu, friendly staff, great food. fyi, all entree's are huge. enough for 2-2.5 people so be prepared to take some home. lemon tea is solid curry brisket over flat wide rice noodles solid. tasted better the next day as left overs as well.

I went to Leisure Cafe for the first time today and was impressed overall by the food. It was delicious, comfort food at an affordable price. So the ordering system is a QR Code on the table. Scan it, put entrees in the cart and submit order. The food comes to the table very quickly. I ordered: XO Roll Noodles: these were delicious. Some of the best I've had. Savory and tasty morsels of noodle rolls. Curry Chow Fun: I don't think I've ever seen this combo before but it was good. If you like curry and you like chow fun, it's a match made in heaven. The curry is flavorful. They said it was spicy but I didn't taste much spiciness. Spare ribs over rice with egg: the runny yoke going over the meat and rice was a nice blend of flavors. It's a nice hearty entree of spare ribs. Baked Pork Chops: I wouldn't have minded this being a little less sweet and more savory. But it was a tasty meal and enough to share with another person. Cheesy, tomato-y, dish. Service was ok. Nothing to write home about. The decor is simple, casual, and clean. Pretty good Hong Kong Cafe in San Leandro.

If you're looking to enjoy Hong Kong comfort food this is the spot! I've been coming here for several years now, and I've always enjoyed their entree and dessert variety. The service is average, but the ipad ordering system speeds things up a bit. I ordered the Braised Beef Curry How Fun. The beef was perfectly tender and paired well with the mild curry. The portion was so large that it could serve 3 people. Looking forward to visiting again!

A surprising gem in San Leandro. This reminded me of the cha chan taangs of Hong Kong. The smell alone was enough to confirm how good the food was. In my short time in the area, I came here twice - the first for the baked minced beef with rice (a rice dish with tender beef slices in a yummy tomatoe sauce with an egg in the middle; it was a bit different than I expected - usually it comes with cheese - but the flavour was good) and the second was the beef chow hor fun, a classic Cantonese dish (this was done well, but I wish the noodles were a bit more fresh). This is a must try if you're in the area. I would give it a 5 but can't comment on the service while dining in.

Acceptable Cantonese cafe that serves the mainstays of chow fun, chow mien, chow fan, Jook (but no Chinese donuts?!?), chicken wings, spare ribs, rice bowls,... yeah you get the drift..it's a cafe. Also has Chinese desserts. The service is uneven, one lady says use the QR code on the table with your phone, the other more helpful lady comes over with the IPAD and asks what do we want from looking at the online menu. We tell her and she pops it in the IPAD for us. We have been there numerous times and have ordered on the IPAD on our own after requesting the IPAD... such inconsistent procedures. We've had: Salted Fish Diced Chicken Fried Rice (decent with good amount of salted fish), Beef Chow Fun (man the beef is chewy?!?), Curry Beef Stew Chow Fun (spicy), Honey Glazed Pork Ribs (fried and then honey glazed - messy and meat can get tough), Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings (Korean FC Wings are better), Salted Pork and Century Egg Jook (Good but no doughnut available), Ong Choy (why are greens so expensive?), .... Overall, food is decent, service is inconsistent, bathrooms are worn and dirty, while dining area is bright and clean.

This is my first time here and I loved all the food selections we ordered! They have an extensive menu and it's just great! It's a kid friendly place! My kids loved the food! I loved the food! The service was great! Everything was really good! My favorite was the tom yum soup and also all the desserts we had! We tried the mango mochi and it was nice and fresh! I also loved the mango sago! My kids loved the fruit with rice balls and fruit! It was just delightful! Will be back when we are around here!

Stopped by on a Thursday and it was pretty crowded inside at 8pm. They were closing early at 8:30pm this night, but we only came for dessert. The dessert menu isn't on their online QR code so we had to flag someone down for the menu. Then we had to flag someone down again to get tea, as we weren't served tea like the other patrons. Dessert itself is okay. It's in the area so it's convenient. I'm a huge fan of the black sesame balls in the ginger soup, and sheeessh it was super spicy! I think more sugar could be added, it's it's fine. The red bean tofu was silky and not too sweet.

    Hong Kong Style Toast

Been here twice so far, a very authentic Hong Kong-style restaurant. There's a QR code on the table for ordering. *Hong Kong Style Toast This is the classic French toast you would typically find in Hong Kong. It's my favorite dish out of the three we tried today. The butter and syrup are individually wrapped and placed on the side. It's absolutely delicious, but there isn't much peanut butter filling between the slices of bread. Adding a bit more would enhance the layers and elevate the flavor of the entire dish. *Hot Milk Tea It comes with sugar, and tastes great. I would definitely order it again next time. *Shrimp Wonton Soup The wonton filling is fantastic, and the size is just right! *Baked Steak with Black Pepper Sauce and Rice Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of this dish. The beef steak is flavorless and relies entirely on the black pepper sauce over the rice. The beef tastes like it's been defrosted from the freezer, and the sauce seems to be missing something to make it more complete. Overall, a great and solid spot!

Citronella chicken steak and black pepper/red wine chicken steak
    Jon H.

The citronella chicken steak and black pepper/red wine chicken steak were both delicious, as well as the sesame soup and peach gum soup! The attentive and polite service is another reason I keep coming back.

Egg puffs, peach gum desserts, black sesame pudding with mochi, shaved ice with mixed fruits and jelly
    Tiffany C.

Friends and I came in for desserts after having dinner nearby. We ordered egg puffs, sesame pudding with mochi, mango sago with ice cream, peach gum dessert, and mixed fruit with jelly and shave iced. Portion seems a lot smaller since the last time I was there. Overall it's still good but lack of portion size and not sweet enough.

To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives. It's still loud and service could still be better (there have been times where chicken wings have taken over an hour to come out, which is a "should not occur"). However, at least I don't dread coming here anymore.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

The space feels much brighter, cleaner, and more upscale than before, making it a wonderful environment for everything from a casual family breakfast to a larger celebratory gathering. They've managed to create a contemporary look while keeping the welcoming energy alive. The Food: A Noticeable Step Up While the new decor is great, the real star of the show is the improved flavor and quality of the dim sum. You can tell they've refined their recipes and perhaps brought in some fresh culinary talent. Here were the standouts from our meal: Baked BBQ Pork Buns (Cha Siu Bao): Absolute perfection. The tops had that ideal, sweet, crumbly crust, and the pork filling was savory, rich, and not overly gelatinous. Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow): A true test of any dim sum kitchen. The skins were perfectly translucent and delicate without tearing, packed with plump, snappy shrimp that tasted incredibly fresh. Siu Mai: Flavorful, juicy, and well-seasoned. The texture was spot-on--not dense or heavy. Egg Tarts (Dan Tat): The puff pastry was beautifully laminated and flaky, holding a perfectly smooth, warm, and subtly sweet egg custard. Service & Value Despite the upgraded ambiance and food quality, the service remains efficient and attentive. Most of the party arrived before us so we were able to easily find our table. We were set next to the fish take, by the kitchen. It was a good arrangement. We had 2 tables with identical entrees. We ordered: Green Beans, Salt and pepper chicken wings, shrimp fried rice (Everyone's least favorite dish), Chow Fun, duck, and probably some other dishes. The green beans were the best dish. The chicken wings were good, but not as flavorful as people hoped, they probably won't be ordered again. The fired rice was a big disappointed, it had shrimp in it, but it lacked flavor. We didn't get a soup. We also had a steamed fish which was really good, coming from a not big fish fan. It was seasoned with soy sauce and was a big hit with the table. Even my picky nephew ate some. We also had calamari, it wasn't a big hit, we didn't even take it home with the leftovers. We all got tea and we asked for ice water for everyone which was drank along with the tea. If you request it they will bring out forks, my brother in law made the request. I was impressed even the kids used chopsticks. I definitely reccomend this restaurant. Especially for large groups. My family celebrated my dad's 87th birthday here. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy, but…read morethere were still seats available. My sister had reserved our tables a few days in advance. The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.
