Third time here and some things are consistent: food is good, coffee is okay, service is lacking. I've ordered the turkey sandwich twice and it does not disappoint. It looks simple, but there's an orange marmalade in there that adds something awesome to the flavor. I found out today that the ube latte does not have coffee in it. Maybe it's me, but I assumed that if I order a latte it's coffee and milk, then an ube latte would be ube and coffee and milk. That's the case at most coffee shops and not here, but I digress. This brings me to the service: when I realized there was no coffee in my drinks, I got back in line and ordered two espressos thinking I'll just add it to my latte and move on. When the cashier figured out I was gonna put the espresso in the latte, she gave me a hard time about not telling her it was for the ube latte because there's a price difference and now she had to do a refund, etc. I told her it was fine, but she said no (pretty harshly) and then processed it on the POS. Then, she took some random espressos that were sitting there and poured them into my drinks in a way that made a huge mess on the counter. This is situation was a bit out of the ordinary, but what's consistent is that each time I've been here the person on register doesn't seem to be fully listening or interested in the customer at all. I get being stressed, but the cashier kept totaling the order before I was done ordering and wasn't actually asking if I was done ordering. Ultimately, the food and pastries are good, but the experience was pretty stressful all three times I've been there. This is without mentioning some factors beyond the staff's control like terrible driving habits of people in their lot or how rude and inconsiderate many of the customers are when they're inside the tight space (got pushed, not bumped, a couple times). read more

Had lunch with my friends. We ordered 4 different dishes and 4 different desserts and everything was very good. Food of such high quality usually comes with much heftier price, so it is very good value. The Basque Cheescake stands out even among other great desserts ! Drinks are good as well. I had Yuzu lemonade and it was great. Notice that tastes here have an eastern european tinge, so if you like Russian/Ukranian/Polish food you would really love the place. Service is helpful and efficient. The line at order counter was moving quite fast and the dishes arrived in about 10 minutes despite the cafe was full to capacity. My friends and I came around 12 pm on a Sunday and it was packedddd! Super busy, but we were able to snag a small table for the three of us to squeeze at. The cafe is actually quite small, but the interior decoration is all super cute! We (3 of us) each got a menu item ($16/plate) and each a pastry from the case, and total with tip it was about $80. The food was quite good though, not your usual eggs and bacon brunch but some delicious offerings. I had the gruyere waffles with sundried tomatoes- my friends and I agreed that the flavor profile of the waffles and tomatoes was like pizza! Cheese, bread, and tomato can't be beat :) The pastries weren't as much to my taste- nothing wrong with them, I think I just wasn't super wowed, and with the prices we paid I would've expected a little more. Utensils and water are all self serve and they call out your name when your food is ready and you pick it up at the counter yourself. It can be a little hard to hear your name when the cafe's busy, so maybe they could try a better system for calling out finished orders. read more

The menu has a lot of great options for breakfast and brunch, but my personal favorites are Syrniki and Draniki. These traditional Eastern European treats were amazing! The Syrniki were pillowy soft, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the Draniki were crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside, bursting with flavor. They were probably the best I've ever had. The cafe also offers variety of pastries and deserts. Medovik is delicious! To top it all off, they have some books and toy for kids to entertain themself and kids menu with cocoa which is now my son's favorite drink. So impressed with this European cafe!! It was easy to find and in a small plaza. From the outside, I didn't have high hopes. It looks like it would be underwhelming. I was wrong! Although it is a small space, they truly put their heart into it. The pastries looked AMAZING. The espresso itself was strong and earthy and very good. The food was STELLAR. I cannot rave about the food enough. The prices are definitely a bit more expensive but I think it's worth it. Growing up my best friend was Russian and Ukrainian and it really did feel like a piece of home here. It's also a family oriented cafe which I have not seen before. They had a diaper rack in the bathroom. Which was stocked with items. They even had a pastry making class for kids while we were there! The vibe here was just so special. I've been here a few times, hoping my opinion would improve. It hasn't . I don't think I'll go back. The atmosphere is cute, and pretty but it feels very loud and claustrophobic. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are neurodivergent and struggle with tight spaces and loud sounds. I also feel staff needs training on communication and customer service as I felt they were slightly rude and stand offish. The items taste good, but cost way too much. I ordered an ube latte for about 6-7 dollars, but it only had the ube syrup and milk. I can order a cheaper and delicious version elsewhere that has that same flavors and with espresso. read more

The algorithm brought a pretty decent find this time around! This small cafe is in an unassuming plaza in Los Gatos, there's not a lot of seating and it easily becomes cramped and warm. Order at the register then find a seat (or do both at once if you brought a friend) - I can see this being pretty difficult when the cafe gets busy. The food was generally good! Drinks were well-mixed and not too sweet. - Syrniki (4.5/5): A perfect sweet breakfast, like a play on pancakes! I've never had these before, but they were pillowy and paired well wjth the tart berry jam(?). - Gruyere waffles (4/5): The waffles had a great texture, and the gruyere isn't too overpowering. The egg wasn't cooked to my expectation, a bit too well-done, though I suppose "soft egg" is a ambiguous. - Mushroom soup (3/5): Not the thing to order here! God I love this place, it's over where I used to live but every now and again I make the trip back over, (but to be honest with my constant dieting it's not really the place for that lol.) They do amazing coffee's all kinds with choices of milk, especially the fat-free, and the taro is delicious and sweet (and very purply) they have Basque cheesecakes, macaroons, pies, all homemade, and I've not had anything bad! They also have a savory menu, which is also excellent, and have a rewards point system. Only trouble is getting a seat at certain times as it's so busy but that's not their fault and they have expand the next door to do evening food but I haven't tried that yet for the menu looks amazing . I honestly LOVE this cafe. It's the best one I've gone to recently in the Bay Area. Decor is super cute and it kinda felt like I was in another country, maybe Switzerland (but not sure bc I haven't spent that much time there lol). The brunch items were really interesting for me. I've never had Gruyere Waffles before or cheese pancakes; they were excellent and beautifully presented as well. We also got one of the meringue cake dessert as well as this pancake like one. I actually preferred the meringue one bc it was again nothing like any desserts I've tried in the past. Super creamy and chewy in the inside - I hope to be back to have it again and also try some of their other dessert items. The Ube latte was also delicious and just the right amount of sweetness. The only slight con of this place is its slow service. It also seems pretty popular and this large group took over the communal table we were sitting at, which was a bit obnoxious. The food is pretty and the ambiance is very cute. The matcha latte was very good and I liked that it was served in a glass up. The food was interesting. We thought the Rosti would come with waffles and ours came with a crepe. The syrniki was light and delicious. The service was good and while we enjoyed the ambiance, there were some customers inside that made things more uncomfortable. At one point, there were two parties who were yelling at each other and it only stopped when one party left. It is hard to say whether this is more of a coffee shop or a bakery, because it excels as both. It is a very cozy space inside as well as outside, with a great selection of caffeinated drinks. It also has a number of Russian oriented menu items and their pastries are truly delicious. It is the place to go when you want a very interesting selection of pastries which are also top notch. There is definitely a huge Russian cultural influence at this location, and that influence is felt both in their menu items as well as their pastry selection. I highly recommend a visit here, it is one of my main stops in my coffee rotation. read more

Nice place! They have two tables outdoors and a very nice indoor section. We brought our dog so we sat outside and they brought us a doggy bowl :) Everything was fresh and delicious. My husband specifically liked the oatmeal which had some sort of yummy jam inside. They do not make non-caffeinated chai lattes here, all of their drinks have caffeine, just FYI. Came here on a Friday afternoon to do some work with friends and the place was packed when we arrived. There seemed to be people getting takeout, doing work, and grabbing lunch which made the space lively although a bit loud at times. Nonetheless, my party of 3 was still able to find a table that fit all of us after shifting between some tables. They have free WiFi for guests but there didn't seem to be a lot of accessible outlets (we were only able to find one by a corner table during our visit). I ordered a hot ube latte and it was great, one of the better ube lattes I've had for sure! The milk was steamed very nicely and the ube flavor did not taste artificial at all and it wasn't too sweet. Bonus points for the beautiful latte art from the barista. We also got a few dishes to share. The savory plates were about $14-18 each on average, which was a little pricey in my opinion for the portion size but the quality was definitely up there. No ingredient was overpowering and everything complemented each other very well, without it being too heavy afterwards. The desserts we chose were the coffee cake and napoleon cake, which was $7-8 each. These were also delicious and creamy, and I'd consider coming back just for the napoleon cake which had a great balance between the cream and pastry layers. read more
