Great local spot in town where decent food doesn't exist. It's perfect for lunch or a quick dinner. Service is fairly quick and the place is kept clean. I highly recommend the grilled chicken pita. It's the best thing on the menu. You also can't go wrong with the hot pastrami. My wife loves their garlic butter fries, but they're not for me. The regular fries are good, they remind me McDonalds, but without the nasty greasy film. Their soups taste like they are homemade. I've had the cream of chicken and the chicken noodle. Called in a take out order at 12:05 and was told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Pulled up to the drive through and waited 10 minutes behind 2 cars who placed their order. Decided to go in and try to pick up inside and again had to wait in a line 4 people deep. When I finally got the order it was cold. I asked for fresh fries the manager rolled his eyes. Came back slammed the bag on the counter, ran my card for the full amount and said have a nice day in en extremely rude tone. Food was cold, again. I tried to ask if there was a better way to get a phone order and he gave excuse after excuse and walked away. 43 minutes for cold, bad and full priced food. Have lived in Lemont 30 years - systematically have seen this place deteriorate into a POORLY managed and dirty establishment. Similar experience about a year ago, just chalked it up to a bad day, so I gave it another try. Won't make the mistake again. Whoever is running the place now has turned a community gem into a place not worth visiting. Mistakes happen - but rude management and filth are unacceptable. read more

Went here a couple weeks ago. Heard they have garlic butter fries. They were overcooked but okay. The gyro wasnt anything special. There were no smiles from customer service. It was like ordering from Squidward at the Krusty Krab...0 enthusiasm. My family and I have been coming to Lemon Tree for years and they continue to have great service and delicious food. Their cheeseburgers and gyros are great!! Butter-garlic fries are a hit too, but I wish they came in a smaller size. That bag is huge! Also, their hot dogs are not served Chicago-style, even though the picture on their menu shows otherwise. We love coming to Lemon Tree... And mainly for the Garlic Fries. I think all the other positive reviews mention the garlic fries. Those that are negative seem to have chosen items that aren't what a hot dog and fries joint are known for... And also somehow missed the garlic fries. When it comes to Lemon Tree... It really is all about the garlic fries. I feel like I can't say that enough. My husband enjoys their cheeseburgers while I usually order a patty melt otherwise. To me, hot dogs are hot dogs. The interior of Lemon Tree is dated... Which is actually something that I love about it. I grew up in the area and it's the same since I was a kid. Feels like home that way I guess. If you are looking for McDonalds speed at the drive through just be warned that it can be a little slower than your average fast food... But as long as you order the garlic fries it's totally worth it. I don't think I've ever left the drive thru at Lemon Tree with anything but piping hot BG fries literally dripping with buttery garlic deliciousness. read more

This place is a Lemont staple since the 1970's. It was first a Dog n Suds. I disagree with a review below about the place being dirty. I grew up in Lemont and I have family that still lives there and we go there often to eat in and for carry-out and it is not dirty. The reason you wait for the food is because they make it when you order it, it doesn't sit around under a heat lamp like fast food places. The staff and owners are friendly. You can call ahead and order then pick it up at the drive-thru or inside. They're known for their butter-garlic fries and sub sandwiches. The food is really good! In fact, we're getting Lemon Tree tomorrow for our family picnic. read more

WOW!!! I was searching for an affordable and good lunch between church and an appointment when I almost missed this place. Awesome Authentic Italian Beef loaded with spicy giardeniera and crispy to the last bite butter garlic fries. Not good. I had been told it was a decent place, so I tried it - twice. Both times not good. The first was a "Reuben" which was a disaster - I ended up throwing it away. Next trip I tried the Italian Beef with sweet peppers. It took about 15 minutes to get the sandwich. The beef was nothing special (kinda tough), and the "sweet peppers" were ice cold, right out of a can. Who puts ice cold canned sweet peppers on top of an Italian beef? The food here is excellent! Much better than nearby Hardee's (which sucks, seriously) and mcdonalds (not the best). I love the little local places because the food is always fresh, wonderful, and delicious! Plus, you can't get the same taste or food anywhere else. read more

I have been coming to the Lemon Tree for better than fifteen years when it was located across the street from its current location. Today I stopped to get a Reuben sandwich and garlic fries as I always do, however, you changed the real corned beef for processed corned beef. Couldn't figure out why the sandwich did not taste the same. I am really disappointed if this is because you need to save money. I will need to find a sandwich shop that serves the real thing as you once did. read more
