Let's start with the service which was fabulous since we didn't have a reservation for 3. We were seated quickly but was told we had one hour before the next set of customers who had reservations would arrive. I didn't mind, Im a fast eater anyway. The orders are promptly taken and there is barely any waiting time for the meals to be served. The food was delicious so I ordered one to take home. The environment is topical Thai with flowers every where. Nice and cozy with dimmed lighting but not too dim as to not see your meal. This is a good place to bring your friends. Upon entering Lemongrass, the interior is gorgeous. There is a beautiful bar and a fake lemon tree inside! The cocktail menu is amazing and a lot of the drinks can be made as mocktails too. I loved that the Pinacolada came in a pineapple. The appetizers were the star of the show for us. The Chicken Satay was so tender and they gave us a lot of chicken on each stick, so it's definitely worth it. The Curry Puff was hot, stuffed with potatoes, and packed with flavor and spices. As for the entrees, the Noodle Mao was alright. I personally felt the noodles were too soft and the tomatoes were cut too chunky. However, they gave plenty of beef which we appreciated. As for the Thai Garlic Sauce, it pairs so well with crispy duck which was fried perfectly and so juicy and tender inside. We finished with Fried Ice Cream. Although, I would highly suggest not ordering this. The breading was too sweet and thick for me. The ice cream also melted way too fast. We really wanted to try the Mango Sticky Rice, but they did not have mangoes when we went sadly! Overall, the food here is good, but not spectacular and I think some of the entrees are too expensive. My FAVORITE dishes were the Curry Puffs, which came with a yummy sweet and sour sauce, and Noodle Mao, which was a generous portion! We also got the Chicken Satay skewers, which were also good, and the Duck Sam Rod, which was juicy and had a nice, crispy skin. However, the vegetables underneath the duck were a bit undercooked. I'd SKIP the fried ice cream, as the outside layer was too doughy and overly sweet. The staff is very accommodating and can make the drinks non alcoholic, upon request! Their service from the moment we walked in the door was terrible. The host who was at the door pointed at me with my little brother and mother and stopped us in the middle of the doorframe. He seemed quite confused about what we were doing, even though we had a reservation at 6:45. When we got inside the hostess said that it would be about 10-15 mins for our table without an explanation, which was already weird. The people in line behind us were a walk in group of four people and they got sat immediately, even though we had a reservation. It was very weird and the entire time we were waiting there were servers walking in between us and lots of people coming in and out and crowding around the hostess' table. The experience was an extremely unprofessional and the waiting area was extremely crowded and we all were smushed together: me and three other parties, with delivery drivers and the hostess. When we asked about our table after 30 mins of waiting, we were told that the wifi was down and the host was very passive aggressive towards our party and the other party waiting as well. They were not communicative whatsoever and we not greeting people as they came in. When we were ordering dessert they brought over the dessert menu and then the server told us that every single dessert was sold out. We were obviously confused and asked again to confirm that every single dessert was actually sold out and the waitress confirmed and quickly brought over our check. then the manager came over and told us that because of their wifi was down and so the kitchen staff was having a hard time of keeping up with orders. So actually ordering dessert would take about 20 mins, and that every single dessert wasn't in fact sold out, and that the waitress lied straight to our faces. Overall the food was fine but the service completely made my birthday dinner a terrible experience. The staff was rude and unprofessional and I would never come back. read more

Good food, good ambiance, horrible service. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken and pad see ew with tofu. The chicken in the fried rice came very dry and not too flavorful. Thankfully they have sambal (chili paste) that help with the flavor, but if you love rich flavors, I would say stay away. On the flip the pad see ew was great. The tofu is more firm, rich in flavor, and has a good chewy consistency. Of those two items, I would strongly recommend the pad see ew! Although the ambiance was great, service was not. The servers were not attentive to me and my party. When I could finally get ahold of the server, they came with attitude and glares. The AC was blasting towards the back of the restaurant and some people in my party were extremely cold on a gloomy and drizzling day. After asking for a solution, our server responded with "its not fair for other people who are hot". After trying our best to ignore the cold, we called the server to ask if there is at least hot water or a warmer area to sit in. Annoyed, she said we would have to wait and that the restaurant does not offer warm or hot water. The only remedy would be buying their hot tea. It was unfortunate because people in my party are sensitive to caffeine. Although it really pains me because the food is good and ambiance is good, I believe you can find better food & service elsewhere. My 2nd time coming here was better than my 1st. This is still one of my favorite Thai places in Brooklyn because their proportion sizes just can't be beat. This time I ordered the following: Thai Beef Salad, Choo Chee Curry, Duck Basil, Lemongrass Wings, Shrimp Rolls, Basil Fried Rice (not spicy for my daughter), and the Fried Cheesecake. For my drink, I got the coconut mojito! The flavors were absolutely on point this time around. I have 0 complaints. The last time I was here, I felt like some things weren't seasoned enough. But this time, everything was really great. My daughter and I danced at the taste of the lemongrass wings which are our favorite now. The thai beef salad was perfect in every way from the dressing to the amount of beef that was in it. The shrimp rolls were a nice size and cooked perfectly (soft inside, crispy outside). The Choo Chee curry was something I never had before until that day and it's definitely my new favorite Thai curry. Sorry, panang... You've been defeated. It's spicy and citrusy! I had it with the jumbo prawns and the prawns never fail in size. They were cooked just right too... not raw at all. The duck basil was a huge entree. I appreciate how much duck is given! I love how it's similar to a fried chicken rather than a typical crispy duck you'd get at dim sum or whatever. It was just a nice to have duck cooked differently. The sauce that came with the dish was amazing... perfect addition to the already perfectly cooked duck. The basil fried rice that wasn't spicy for my daughter was nice as well... typical fried rice flavors but nonetheless, great! The fried cheesecake was the cherry on top of a great meal! The blueberry jam on top of it was a wonderful bonus. So with all that said, I still highly recommend Lemongrass!!!!!! Make sure you book a table because it gets busy. My partner and I walked in on a weekend for a celebration and as they mentioned over the phone that for 2 people you can just walk in without a reservation. Honestly some of the best Thai food I've had in Brooklyn with great service and a cool vibe. The place is a bit small, and people seems to want to bring a lot of large groups, so smaller groups may feel a little squeezed in, but all of those feelings leave when you get the food. Though we had a reservation and had to wait an extra 15 to be sat, our server got our apps and drinks in practically as we were sat. The crispy duck bao's were stellar. I was thinking it was roast crispy duck, not deep fried duck, but it was delicious. I wish I just had a side of the sauce they used. I went with the spicy udon with tofu. The portions were actually quite large and I almost didn't finish my dish. It was a good warm spicy with so much tofu and fresh bell peppers and onions. The udon was perfectly cooked and great for slurping, I also got to try the pad see ew and I have to say that was one of the best I've had in the city. I have passed by here many times and been wanting to try, so finally came by during a weekday lunch. The space is beautifully decorated with lemons and greenery in a relaxed and chill vibe. They do have great lunch special deals on weekdays from 12-3:30pm, so be sure to ask for the lunch menu. I wish they provided that without me asking for it though. To start, we each got a house salad and eggrolls with our entrees. For the entrees, we shared the Beef Pad See Ew ($14.95) and BBQ Beef Short Ribs ($16.95), which were both delicious. Everything was full of flavor and left us both happily full. We also got a Lychee Ice Tea ($5.50) to wash everything down. The service was great with the servers constantly refilling our waters and clearing out our table. To end off the meal, we got the Deep Fried Cheesecake ($8). We actually ended up getting the dessert for free with a Yelp review, so that was a nice freebie. I really enjoyed the crystallization that came from the deep frying, which was all balanced out with the vanilla ice cream. It was a nice way to end the meal. This upscale Thai spot serves up some delicious Thai food. The atmosphere and environment is all very Insta-worthy and takes you to another place. Knowing basically zilch about Brooklyn dining options, I turned to Yelp and that's how we ended up at Lemongrass, a Thai spot with over 1,200 reviews and a 4.2 star average as of this writing.  We arrived in the middle of the afternoon so we were seated right away. But I noticed that you can make reservations on Yelp so that's convenient. There were some tables outside but most diners were inside in the air conditioning.  Lemongrass is pretty trendy but far from pretentious. The restaurant is attractive, with a dragon mural, lots of flowers, and a Buddha statue. And all of the employees were pleasant and helpful.  The lychee shrimp appetizer ($12.95) was a must order for me after I read about it in a Yelp review. I wasn't disappointed with the jumbo crunchy shrimp and creamy sauce. I ordered the Chiang Mai mee with chicken ($18.95) noodle dish for my main. To my surprise, the creamy coconut yellow curry egg noodle dish was more like a soup, and I almost thought I'd been given the ramen by accident. And also to my surprise, the portion was way bigger than I pictured in my mind. Gotta love generous portions!
