My husband made a reservation here the day we went to eat because it became available and he knew I'd talked about wanting to try it. The place is beautiful! But that's really about it. I ordered a cocktail and I waited for awhile after my husband got his beer, then he eventually flagged someone down who asked what I got. I got an aperol spritz and maybe this is just me, but I don't understand why they eventually gave me a glass of aperol and a separate personal bottle of prosecco instead of just making the drink for me. We got one order of grilled wings and one order of fried wings for apps. Both were pretty flavorless; my husband fries chicken at home so I am versed in what a chicken wing should taste like and the texture was good but you could tell it was not seasoned whatsoever. I ordered the chiang mai mee which was tasty except for the pickles in it (did not read that in the menu item description so perhaps that's my fault but the pickles were quite off-putting). It also came with a big assortment of decor which was annoying to maneuver. My husband got the short ribs and just like the wings, it was fatty and flavorless. He said there was barely any meat on the bones and when there was, it was tough. He didn't finish nor take it to go. I was put off by the pickles but I kept eating slowly and at some point i noticed an employee lingering next to me. When I looked at him he asked "Are you done?" while there was a lot of food on my plate. I was not done and said so. I then remembered reading a request in the menu that we "limit our time in the restaurant to an hour" so as to "accommodate" other guests. solo lunch date shenanigans at lemongrass brooklyn was a treat for the eyes & tastebuds. popped in & fell in love with the dramatic floral decor; i mean i kept pausing to look around because... hello captivating! the service was some of the best i've had, attentive yet not pushy. food came out quick & fresh. i enjoyed the thai iced tea with rosemary (great touch); id do unspeakable things for that salad dressing; and the roasted pork belly bao buns were delicious; the rice berry reminds me of caribbean rice & peas... but not quite; though i wouldn't order the green chili shrimp & scallop special again, i definitely would return to try more dishes from their extensive menu. maybe the duck ramen? this is a great spot for a date, solo or otherwise. with dramatic cocktails in pineapples (very tempting) & appealing appetizers, i'm sure i'll be back to give lemongrass another try soon! read more

Walking up this place is beautiful from the outside decorated with flowers very vibrant. There is outdoor seating, semi outdoor and indoor. We sat inside when I went and it is also decorated well there's flowers from the ceiling to the walls very nice when taking photos. It's not very roomy as the tables were close together but it was alright. The bar is small 4 seats but I did notice that they set the bar up for seating which I liked. For drinks my friend got a Virgin piña colada in a pineapple she loved it just from looking at it she didn't want to drink it she thought it was to pretty lol and I got the coconut mojito in a coconut it was absolutely delicious, great taste. I also got a gomain cocktail which was decorated beautifully, it was very tart from the strawberry purée & it comes with a small bottle of rum in it which was good. My mistake was not emptying it into the glass while the drink was 1/4 or 1/2 wat full which would have made all of the difference my drink was all alcohol cuz the bottle never emptied as I was drinking. For appetizer we got the shrimp dumpling (fried) it was really good, nice portion size very good taste with the sauce. Crab Rangoon which was ok slightly over fried comes with a sweet sauce. Chicken Satay which is grilled with a cucumber sauce and a peanut sauce. My friend enjoyed it, it looked really good. Lychee Shrimp that was covered in a lychee sauce the shrimps were different sizes but some were really big, nice texture. My friend didn't like the lychee fruit but I thought it was ok the sauce threw it off on the fruit but on the shrimp excellent. For entree my friend got the pineapple fried rice with jumbo shrimp this dish comes in half of a pineapple which my friend was mostly excited about. She did like her entrée and thought it was very good. I got the grilled salmon with Thai chili garlic sauce, which is accompanied by white rice. Although my salmon was on the dry side, it was still good, It was plated with vegetables. We were two adults with four children and I was worried we wouldn't be a welcomed sight, however the staff were so sweet and accommodating. I came to Lemongrass after work with my girlfriend. What pulled us in was the vibrant and floral aesthetic inside. We chose to sit at the bar, as the table seating is very tight. We came at a great time because there was a line out the door not long after we got our appetizers. For drinks, I ordered the Tong Rum Pai, which was mango and tequila. Both of our drinks came with mini bottles of liquor to add to the drink. Mine was very sweet at first, but the extra tequila helped balance it out. Her Morakot tasted like lemonade until she added the bottle of vodka. But both drinks were enjoyable. We got the duck bao buns for appetizers. I liked the crispness of the duck, and the bao bun had great thickness to it. For dinner, the mango chicken and sticky rice went well together. The chicken was cut up in fried strips. The vegetables didn't have any flavor until we added a soy sauce to it that we asked for. The bartender who served us wasn't the most personable and was very short at times with us. Beautiful décor, but unfortunately the experience didn't live up to the setting. The tables are extremely close together, which makes dining feel cramped. The food itself was just okay--nothing memorable. Dessert was especially disappointing: my friend's fried ice cream came out at least 10 minutes before my mango ice cream, and when mine finally arrived it was icy, not creamy, and tasted almost freezer-burned. Place was a complete rip off and racist, which I'll never say unless it's true- my partner is black I am not when I went to the bathroom they saw him there alone and said "you make sure you pay you bill and no run, we have black bouncer now!" They did not know I was in bathroom. Beyond acceptable like NAACP reportable. They are all dirty, they wear black plastic gloves touch your food or your plate with same gloves I saw them come out of the bathroom without changing them, they also will pack you leftovers with the same gloves they just used to take out the garbage, beyond gross. I will not go back and reported them to the dept of Health. The racist stuff is the least of the worries here! Also they'll take your food and drink before you finish to speed up turning over the table- and you take it- all night. You've been warned! read more

Hands down one of the best Thai restaurants not only in Brooklyn but in NYC. Everything was so well seasoned, & flavorful. I almost want to visit again this weekend for that grilled shrimp mango salad I had. It was absolutely divine!!!! With the Holidays just passing, I wanted to indulge in something more healthier and lite as I hate to admit, I've been overeating and Lemongrass Brooklyn didn't disappoint. Well this is not the same Lemongrass that I remembered when I used to work in Metrotech Center and come over here for lunch or order Seamless when I have to work late night. Alejandra was our server and gave amazing recommendations. They were out of a handful of items I wanted to try on this visit, which was unfortunate, but we made it work. Chicken Satay ($12) - served with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. The chicken itself was juicy and super tender. Lychee Shrimp ($12) - Similar to walnut shrimp if you ever had that dish, but instead with a creamy lychee sauce. The sauce makes it a unique experience and I enjoyed it. Massaman Curry w Vegetarian Duck ($20) - They were out of the real duck at the time so I went with the imitation duck. Not as flavorful compared to other Massaman Curry dishes I've had, but still decent. Pineapple Fried Rice w Beef ($20) - Well the big difference from pre-COVID times is that they were not serving this dish in a pineapple shell, so presentation score shot up here. Tasted better than I remembered. We also got two drinks, and they were the ones that were all over IG: Pinacolada ($24) - One of the famous IG-able drinks here just because it's served in a pineapple. I liked this drink over the Watermelon Margarita. Watermelon Margarita ($24) - This is the other popular IG-able drink as it's served in a full sized watermelon. How they get these things to stand is beyond me. We were sat right outside the restaurant so the lighting was red/dim and it was heated so it was a nice warm for a cold day. Service was great and the food quite delicious. I really enjoyed the curry puffs - it was the right amount of crispy with a great chicken potato inside. The duck basil was a nice surprise - I don't think I ever had a deep fried duck before and it was an interesting experience. I think I would opt for the tender half ducks (either duck choo chee or duck curry) next time I'm in the area. I appreciate a restaurant that pays attention to detail. There is ample seating inside, street and heated outdoor seating. They thought of everything. It's always hard to decide what to get but I recommend starting with the shrimp rolls. So good. There is a hint of heat and a great dipping sauce. I wish they gave more than 4. Or order one for myself instead of sharing. In addition to the shrimp roll we ordered crispy golden wontons, red hot chili seafood, baby pork ribs, fried cheesecake, watermelon margarita and a coconut mojito. The larger cocktails are accompanied with a nip/mini bottle of liquor. This is definitely photo worthy and tasty. I was really impressed with the ribs especially the portion size. Great friendly service. Some areas of the restaurant can feel a bit cramped, but that's just because the food is great so people are coming here. There's sometimes a wait on weekends. The noodles are great - Chiang mai mee is my favorite dish. You can't go wrong with any of the curry bowls and I love the chive cakes.
