Because my wife is allergic to peanuts we specially told the waitress not to put peanuts and give us on side. They still put on top of the dish. Before we decline the dish the other bald guy came and quickly scooped out peanuts section of the dish put on my plate and left me with little or no choice. I asked if there were peanuts inside and she said no. Believing them my wife took portion of dish. Before you know neck turned red and itchy. Im so upset. I was so excited to eat their pad Thai I paid 15 $ and it was SO DRY. Ive had lemonleaf grill in mineola I thought it would taste similar but It didnt at all. Very dry texture and there was a hair in my food. I have to remember that I actually do like Thai food. We ordered pickup from here last night at my brother's suggestion, and I was very surprised. I got the Pineapple Coconut fried rice. It had crushed peanuts on it, with chunks of pineapple and coconut fried rice with chicken. It was delicious! We live about a ten minute drive away, and our food was still piping hot when we got home. I tasted the beef drunken noodles and the chicken drunken noodles and both were also very tasty. One thing about this style of food that makes it better in my opinion than Chinese is that it is not as heavy. I ate the whole container of rice and two spring rolls (also very good) and did not feel like I was carrying around extra weight on me afterwards. Much appreciated. Been to Lemonleaf Grill a bunch of times over the years. The location near Roosevelt Field closed down a while ago it seems. Haven't been overly adventurous in my ordering but food has always been solid. I've gotten the pad thai, pad see you, a curry dish, and bamee siam (hard pan fried noodles with vegetables, meats, and gravy poured over it). I have to say everything has been solid; the pad see you and bamee siam have been my go to orders. Service is usually pretty ok and prices are a little too high for what you get in my opinion. Noodle dishes range from $10-12. But haven't really gone to another thai place that blows it out of the water either. Thumbs up. read more

I love Thai food. I love it so much that whenever I try out a new Thai place, I get very, very picky. But Lemonleaf is out of this world. We had the shrimp wrapped in crunchy noodles with duck sauce for an app. Then for entrees we had the different types of Pad Thai. The flavor was amazing, not as spicy as I would have liked it, though. The fact that it was overly mild for me, is what reduced the rating from 5 to 4 stars. Overall, the food was excellent (especially for Thai on LI), the service was great, and the bill was cheap (only $3 for beer!!). I'll be heading back here often. read more

I used to come to this place often before the COVID since my work place is around there, and it was my favorite Thai restaurant with great dishes. I haven't been to this place for a while since I worked remote now, and I happen to be in the area today and ordered 3 dishes for take out. My favorite Pad See Ew w/Beef did not taste the same, and the Sesame Chicken was dry and had a touch of smell. This was very disappointing since I really liked this place. I've been here a couple of times for both lunch and dinner. It's sort of a hole-in-the-wall but there's plenty of parking and surprisingly never crowded. The food is mostly good but a bit dry and not super flavorful for thai food. The prices are ok and you get a lot more for dinner than lunch portion since the price almost doubles. Their iced tea is weak but it is only 1.50 for a glass and that's half the price you pay for thai iced tea anywhere else in this state. Lemonleaf is consistent, you can always guaranteed a good meal, fast service and a very reasonable bill. My boyfriend and I usually start with poh taek or tom yam goong which are both very tasty, or the po pia sod. We also like the beef and the chicken satay, both are flavorful and tender. We have split the pad thai, pad ki mao, kao pad supparo,mango chicken and the grilled salmon. All the dishes I have tried have been prepared well and consistently good. My boyfriend must have dish is the Kao Niew Ma-Muang, he absolutely loves it and will not leave without having it. read more

I love thai food. I love Lemon Leaf. This is a good spot to grab some tasty food. At this point I believe I have tried about half of the food on the menu and it is always good to excellent. Some of my favorite dishes are the migati, the massumam chicken, and cashew chicken. I would give this spot 5 stars if they were open on Monday. I also looked into placing a catering order as it says they do catering on their menu. When I spoke with someone they couldn't handle the situation. There wasn't a catering menu with prices. They said that if you want a small tray order they charge you for 5 dishes and if you want a large tray they charge you for 10 dishes. This was weak. Came here for dinner for the first time last night with a party of 5. We were seated immediately, however it did take a while to get initial service, but once our table got water everything was very quick and accurate. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a Thai restaurant, pictures of different landscapes on the wall, little statues and figurines of elephants and many different cultural objects. The place is very casual with very friendly service. The food came out quick as mentioned earlier, and it was so flavorful. We ordered the fried calamari and 2 orders of chicken satay to start. The calamari was lightly fried but didn't lack flavor. The satay chicken was juicy and very meaty. It came with a side of peanut sauce which was delicious. We then got an order of the drunken noodles with beef, pad Thai with shrimp, fried rice with pineapple, and chicken with string beans and cashews. Everything was cooked so well, very flavorful and spices were perfect. It is a great place for really good Thai food at a really good price. I have been coming back here several times after my initial review and mostly for take outs. I am having a change of heart. Yes, it is not real Thai food but a subset of Chinese derivative. There are other Thai restaurants in the area like Chada Thai Bistro which is Thai owned and operated and the food is average and very expensive for the amount of food they are giving you. The curry @ Lemonleaf is good but with limited choices and don't expect to get Thai spicy because there is no such thing. Everything is just the same flavor (Green, yellow or red curry) and I tried several times to get it extra spicy. However, I am a little disappointed that they are raising prices. All curry are extra $$ for beef or shrimp and not excited about the prices going up. A dish here can run up to $15-18 which I think is outrages. Time will tell if their customers are happy with the price increase. read more

That's the food, the staff is extremely courteous. My phone was stolen one day when I left for 5 minutes (called it 5 minutes after leaving and it was turned off). The staff practically turned the store inside out (when it wasn't very busy) in hopes of finding my phone. I didn't have high hopes after viewing the inside. There were dirty ceiling tiles, both diner style booths and restaurant style tables, strange décor, a fish tank on top of wall unit right at the entrance, christmas lights on the center of the ceiling, and hats on the wall spacing apart the paintings and posters. There was a young girl as host, she wasn't very talkative. She took my takeout order and then I sat down and waited. For a walk in order it really didn't take very long at all. It gave me time to check in on yelp and snap a few pics. I was surprised by the food, it was actually good. I ordered the garlic shrimp with shitake mushrooms, scallion, and bamboo shoots. Everything was very good and it came in a great sauce. The shrimp were jumbo in size and there were 6 of them in the dish. I only wish that they had taken the tails off. The chicken massaman curry was on the sweet side but very good and they weren't lazy about shredding up the peanuts either, some lazy thai places just throw them in whole. The chicken was tender and very thinly slices so they flavors got all the way through. The potato's were also flavorful and added texture and a slight saltiness. The portion size was great and there was lots of thick rich curry, it wasn't too watered down. The lunch specials range from around 7-10$ a piece. I'd say it's money well spent. I don't know how can anyone complain about this place. Great food huge portions and priced perfectly for all consumers. (I think) People if your taste buds demands flavor with the right amount of spice head over on over. Some of the things we ate: satay chicken, shrimp dumpling, spring roll, cucumber salad, calamari salad, coconut rice, mango duck, Thai rice, the fish, beers and water. For desert: fried banana and sticky rice with mango. It was great eating and the service was excellent never felt like I was waiting for anything unlike some other places that make you wait 5-10 minutes for your check. Solely based on the food & service, Lemonleaf definitely deserves 5 stars. Arriving at a few minutes before 6, we were sat immediately in one of the last remaining booths, but after our appetizer, the papaya salad, the restaurant was packed. The service was quick, attentive & courteous. Our water never had the opportunity to reach half empty because the servers were on it. I also enjoyed the fact that all of the servers worked together as a team. Out water was refilled a total of 5 times by 3 different servers I noticed. A restaurant that has wait staff that truly work as a team for the greater good of the guest's experience deserves 5 stars, period, especially if the food backs this up & it did. We ordered the papaya salad to start & I enjoyed it a lot, although I will agree with my bf that it was very "wet". A little less liquid (dressing) & I would have been happy. Nevertheless, the combination of flavors from the slight tartness & tang of the papaya to the sweetness of the tomatoes to the crunch & saltiness of the crushed peanuts makes me a happy camper! I've had this in other restaurants & it's been so spicy or so saturated with chopped pieces of cilantro that I literally want to gag. This salad I thought was bright & balanced & I enjoyed it. We then shared two dishes: (which I picked out) Lar Nard with beef & Panang Curry with chicken. Both dishes were incredibly delicious & truly cooked to perfection. Lar Nard is a broad noodle dish with beef & pieces of the leaf & stalk of book choy in a brown oyster gravy sauce. It was awesome & piping hot (which I love, my bf doesn't-so annoying, how could you not want your food to be served piping hot?) But, I digress. The Panang Curry with chicken was so flavorful with the perfect combination of spicy & sweet. I love curry & I was impressed with this dish because the chicken was really tender & all white meat (which to me is necessary), the red & green peppers still had a little bite to them & the mushrooms were very soft, the red chili flakes & coconut milk all work really well together & it was so comforting & delicious. Mmmmmm I will definitely be back sooner than later for some delicious Thai at Lemonleaf!!! This gem of a restaurant is not expensive, not "classy," not stuffy, not pretentious; This restaurant is casual, comfortable, inviting, delicious. The voicemail states that the restaurant is closed. I finally get through and they tell me they haven't started my order. We had our young kids waiting for this food. Unacceptable. read more

My favorite Thai restaurant in Long Island (Hicksville Location). For one, we never have to make reservations and never have to wait. The service is impeccable and are always willing to switch the order and/or work with you regarding allergies and things you may not like in the dish. The menu is also HUGE and there's a ton of options. The prices are also reasonable - its pretty cheap for big groups! After being disappointed with the portion decrease of my favorite local Thai restaurant, I decided to give Lemonleaf a shot. I walked into the restaurant it was pretty empty. I ordered green thai curry shrimp takeout and waited for about 5 minutes. The woman at the counter was friendly. I got home and was happy with the portion I received. I paid $15.50, which is about the same as the other restaurants in the area. The curry itself is good but it not as good as the other Thai restaurants I've been to. This is an update to a review I had done for this place back in 2011. I was shopping in the area and decided to get some Thai food. I recalled I did review it, but couldn't remember how it was. here is my 2018 update/review. Atmosphere: The decor/atmosphere is pretty much unchanged since 2011. The interior is dated. They have the chrome handrails at the top of half wall as a dividers. I havent seen that since the 80's-90's. They still use Neon in the tray ceilings, fish tanks, etc... It was quiet but still well lit. Wait Staff: The staff this time around came across a little rude/rushed. Normally, I dont believe Asian waiters purposely do that, Itss just how they talk, they have not master the art of the English language and can come across as rude as i have mentioned in other reviews. But in this case, it was a bit rude/rushed. While the waiter was cleaning off the our table, he accidentally dropped a spoon into my lap. Lucky, I had my napkin there. but he didnt offer up an apology or anything after i picked it up and handed it to him. Service in general, was a bit on the slow side. It was a bit busy since it was dinner time and there were lots of people eating there. Food: Appetizer: We ordered the beef Satay. It was decent. It was light on the grill marks and it translated to light on the flavor as well. Not to say it was bad or horrible. it was still good, but wished it was a bit more seasoned. Entrée: I order the staple which i compare all Thai places against each other, Chicken Pad Thai. Of course I order it Extra Spicy and I emphasized EXTRA. When It arrived, I saw the color was like a dark white or very light brown. Normally, spicy comes out lightly reddish brown. Extra spicy usually comes out very reddish brown. I knew it wasnt going to be spicy. My partner tried it and since she doesnt really eat spicy and was able to eat it, it verified that I was right. so leaving the spice out of it, the taste. Sadly to say, as my original review, it was again very bland. it was missing the tamarind or fish sauce that is used in making this dish. I did not eat much of it. I took it home and tried to "fix" it the next day for consumption. We also had the Shrimp and Calarmari in a black bean type sauce. This was pretty good, but i didnt feel this was a Thai dish. It was a Chinese style dish. Drink: Thai Ice tea, what else would I order here? Sadly the trend continues onto the drink. It was very "runny" or watered down. Most likely, it was from a powder instead of real Thai Tea. Also it didnt use evap/condesned milk. Price: This meal was approximately $45-50 Again, not bad for the area, but i dont feel it was worth the price for the experience we both had. I can look past the spoon drop and the slow service, food is the number one thing people go to eat. so I lowered my original 3 star down to 2. Good luck everyone and Bon Appetite! read more
