Please do not eat anything from this restaurant. While waiting for my food to be prepared, the staff began to argue in the kitchen. It was loud and unprofessional, in addition to unsettling for customers. Once I finally received my food, I went to take a seat and eat prior to boarding my flight. My sandwich was visibly disgusting to say the least. There was meat and cheese on the outside of the bread and the order was wrong. I took the sandwich back and requested another. I received another mess of a sandwich with no toppings. The sandwich smelled old and was not warm. Please don't eat here. My stomach hurts to think about it this experience. I almost skipped visiting Lenny's when I saw how long the line was , but then noticed that they had a large iPad type device to put your order in so you could skip the line. I quickly walked up to the ordering device and placed my order. Since it was one of the healthier options (nutrition facts are available for Lenny's subs), I decided to go with the 7.5" Mile High Turkey Sub (medium). As I was using their online ordering tool, it made it very easy to add/remove ingredients so I went ahead and customized it. I chose to have my sub "Lenny's Way" (onions, lettuce, oil, red wine vinegar, tomato, salt, pepper, oregano, pickles, and mayo) but removed the oil and mayo from the order and added green peppers. When I received my sub, I thought it was a bit dry (not enough red wine vinegar) and a bit over seasoned (too much black pepper and oregano). My order was prepared quickly and the guy working behind hustled to bring it out to me - he was very friendly! I would say this ended up being just an average (at best) fast food sandwich and I'm not inclined to get it again unless there are no other sub options... like at an airport. It was my first time having Lenny's so I can't say if the sub was typical, but next time I would try an alternative like the chicken salad sandwich. read more

Pathetic. Ordered a garden veggie and it came out coated in salt and pepper (see picture). I couldn't taste anything else in the sandwich. Not that it mattered, because I was charged for extra cheese I didn't ask for (but also didn't receive it). My receipt says I should have other toppings like tomatoes, but I didn't get those either. All I could taste was salt and pepper. My husband's philly sat on the counter because the employee decided to ignore me even though I asked her several times - well after she gave other customers their sandwiches who had ordered after us. So I decided to get one with her. BLT: I chose white bread, because any sammich guy knows that the proper vessel for a blt is white bread. Which in this case, fluffy chewy yummy submarine bun. They didn't skimp on the bacon either. Plus perfect ratio of tomato, lettuce and mayo. Yes the shop looks like it has seen better days. Heck,,, the whole airport looks like it has seen better days. Decided to eat here since the airport was smaller than I am used to and not many other food choices. There was a very long line, but I expected that since it is the airport they would move guests through fairly quickly. Wrong! Once I placed my order I waited for 15+ minutes. I even got my food before others who had been waiting before me. I ordered the mile high turkey sub. Not sure how you can mess up such a simple sandwich but there was no flavor and very bland overall. Not worth the $8. In comparison to other Lenny's throughout Memphis, the airport version is understandably lesser with higher prices. However, when comparing it to the rest of the subpar airport eateries and especially the pre-wrapped deli sammies at various newstands / convenience kiosks, Lenny's is astonishingly decent. During the daytime rush, there are going to be lines. The staff always seems slow and undermanned, which is never a good thing when rushing to make a flight. I still know it's going to take longer than whopper jr. at the nearby Burger King would take, hence here are a few tips to consider: * Not feeling a sandwich? Shoot for a salad. They're pre-made, easy to eat, and come in a nice little container for future storage / stowaway. * Beware of toasting your sandwich or getting a hot sub. A meatball is the easiest of the bunch while the Philly cheesesteak will take some time to cook. At least it all smells good. * Cold subs are my favorite choices. The mile high turkey (turkey + provolone) and Italian (low grade ham, prosciutto, capicola, salami - slapped with some provolone) are tasty when fresh. Throw in a combo for good measure, sure beats buying a drink. * Cheese lovers might be disappointed that there are only a few choices (mainly American and provolone). Before you get all riled up, just remember an airport location is like a condensed downgrade of the real thing. * Tastes like subway, but nearly double the cost? No $5 foot longs here. It's normal airport food. I order a teriyaki chicken Philly wrap and they ran out of the sauce so I got a Buffalo one which I could not tell at all that there was any sauce on it. They use a spinach wrap which I don't believe pairs well with that wrap. Maybe they had ran out of the normal ones but I wasn't asked what type of wrap I wanted. Behind the counter seemed very social. Meaning they all were talking to each other and not much getting done. So you don't have much to choose from in this concourse so they win by default ... so if you have to go for it. read more

I didn't eat the free Holiday Inn Express breakfast thinking I would grab something better at the airport a little bit later. I searched Yelp and noticed that Lenny's was the best rated in the whole place, so I trekked over to the other terminal to give it a try. The staff is dismissive and a little snippy (bordering on rude) and the food was atrocious. I had the hot Italian sub--how do you screw up an Italian sub?? It was somehow flavorless and salty, overcooked (meat) and had undercooked/under seasoned peppers and onions. My friend had the chicken teriyaki and only ate half because it was not appetizing. The hotel breakfast would have been better. If this is indeed the best food on the airport, I shudder to think about what the other outfits are serving. read more

It was 6am at the Memphis airport and my options for getting something to eat for breakfast were somewhat limited. I could get some snack packets for around $5 but then the option to get a sandwich at Lenny's popped up too. So I decided to get a Veggie phillysteak sub for breakfast as cost-wise made more sense than airport snacks. I also decided on the cheesesteak option as it had more vegetables than the sandwich and price difference was .75 cents more. You know what I have observed? Most people make food the way they prefer to eat it themselves! I got the cheesesteak option as it included mushrooms, but when I did get my sub, I think I had like 5 pieces in total! I had also gotten olives and spicy mustard as additional free toppings, and there was too much of the spicy mustard which overwhelmed the taste of the overall sub. Lenny's is a popular sub chain that can be found in convenient locations. Actually, I've eaten from so many sub trays that vendors bring into the Office for Lunch that's it's become hard to differentiate. It's like, they're okay if it means going to less trouble. This Lenny's is way too busy to only have 2 registers open. The line is snaking majority of the time, and rightfully so. Lenny's subs are pretty doggone good! If you make (and make it great), they will come! So... Why does it take so long to reach the counter? When I finally made it, I ordered the "mile high turkey" on wheat! I would so give this place a 4 star for the food. I ordered the Italian sub and it was delicious until I found a hair in the wrapper. But I understand it happens so I told a lady at the counter about the situation nicely. She did not apologize or anything but she did ask me if I want a refund or another sandwich. At the point I found the hair, I already ate half of the sandwich so I asked for a refund. So she grabbed a different lady who does the transaction for sale (I believe her name was Felicia) and I have to say she was very very rude. She had a nasty attitude and she was doubting that the hair was mine when I have a long brown hair and the hair in the wrapper was short and black. She demanded me to give her the drink which I already drank half and the unopened chips back. As I was returning the chips and the drink, a gentleman who also works there told me to just take them. I am giving this place 2 star only because of their food and the nice man who works there. Otherwise I would have given a 1-star. Hey, for airport food, this place is decent. With Concourse B now closed at MEM, there are even fewer dining choices. Without many choices, I resigned to just "feed myself" at Lenny's. I've probably been to a Lenny's elsewhere, but could not really remember anything about the food or menu. I chose the Hot Italian sandwich. It's got the usual Italian meats, plus a bit of shredded lettuce and a tiny slice of tomato or two, then it's baked. Oh, and there's good cheese on it, too, mozzarella or provolone I'm guessing? And I chose a white-bread role. Anyway, it worked. It was served hot, the bread was really soft and fresh, and it tasted great. The cashier was nice as well.
