One of the better meals I've had! Such a good spot for a big group. Everything was super delicious. I would bring people back here for sure. TBH might think this has a better variety than nobu. Plates are small (you've been warned)!!

We came to Leona's while scouting a good option for a larger group dinner, and it ended up exceeding expectations. We made a reservation for six and were seated immediately upon arrival. Parking in the area is extremely limited, so valet is basically a must. It was around $10, which honestly made things much easier, especially since we were running a bit late. We were seated in the covered patio, which was beautifully set up and comfortable. The indoor lounge also looked great, while the sushi bar felt more suited for casual dining rather than a large party. Overall, the ambiance was polished and impressive. The cocktails were excellent across the board. Presentation was thoughtful, and the flavors were well balanced. Easily one of the highlights of the night. For food, the appetizers were fantastic, especially the shishito peppers, which stood out the most and were a table favorite. From there, everything we ordered was consistently strong. The scallops, yellowtail sashimi, ribeye steak, and branzino were all cooked perfectly. The steak came out a proper medium rare, and the fish dishes were delicate and well seasoned. The only dish that didn't quite land for me was the cucumber salad. It felt under seasoned, and while the lemon helped slightly, it wasn't memorable. The sushi rolls were good, but if I were coming back for a date night or a smaller group dinner, I would probably skip them in favor of the hot dishes and sashimi. Desserts were also a highlight. The flan was smooth and well executed, and the candied orange peel on top was a thoughtful and delicious touch. A special shout out to Chris, our waiter. He gave genuinely helpful recommendations, was honest about what stood out on the menu, and shared his personal favorites, which made ordering for a larger group much easier. His guidance definitely elevated the overall experience. Food: 4.5/5 Cocktails: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Overall, Leona's is a strong choice for both group dining and special occasions. Excellent cocktails, well executed dishes, and standout service. I would absolutely come back, especially knowing which items truly shine.

*** Michelin Plate *** Located on Ventura Blvd in Studio City, Leona's is a relatively new (opened late 2022) Japanese-Peruvian restaurant featuring fusion sushi, Italian, and more. The three of us came here for our first time last night and had an enjoyable time. Though service was spotty, everything we tried was delicious, and the ambiance was very nice. To eat, we ordered a tuna cut roll ($11), dried miso spinach salad ($17), yellowtail cilantro roll ($22), Leona's special roll ($18), tai (sea bream) nigiri ($12 for 2 pieces), and yellowtail belly nigiri ($12 for 2 pieces). If looking for an elevated spot to dine out at in Studio City, Leona's is certainly worth checking out.

Location 4: On Ventura Blvd off of Colfax Ave in Studio City, California. Very limited metered street parking so your option is pretty much their Valet that charges a reasonable $10 (as of Nov 2025) plus tip. Venue 4.5: Modern and contemporary enclosed patio, indoor tables, sushi bar and cocktail bar seating. They have 2 cocktail bars, one indoor and one one the patio. Lively and happening place with a nice, trendy vibe. We were seated in the enclosed patio which was great. They take reservations on Open Table which I would recommend as it can get pretty busy. Service 4: Our server Chris was friendly, polite and attentive. The bussers and the cocktail server were also super nice and friendly. Drinks 4.5: Full Bar. Creative specialty cocktails, mostly based on Japanese premium spirits, beer, wine and sake. The Toki Remedy (Toki Japanese whiskey, ginger, lemon, honey, bitters) and Leona's Old Fashioned (Toki Japanese whiskey, Kuromitsu (Japanese syrup made from black sugar), orange and bitters) were very good and highly recommended. Food 4.5: Sophisticated and creative Japanese-inspired modern fare with Peruvian accents; appetizers, soups, salads, oysters, hand and cut rolls, specialty rolls,. sushi, sashimi and Chef's specials (large plates of beef, chicken and seafood that can also be shared if desired). To start, we ordered the Spicy Seafood Miso Soup, the Spicy Tuna Rice Cake, the Popcorn Shrimp and the Lamb Chops. We followed with some specialty rolls; the Leona's Special Roll, the Yellowtail Cilantro Roll, the Spicy Albacore Roll with Crispy Garlic, and the Albacore Ceviche Roll. Every plate was creative, high quality and delicious. Their raw fish quality is very good and everything tasted fresh and tasty. The Last Word 4.5: A solid option for some wonderful food and drinks in a trendy, classy and upscale setting. Highly recommended!

I came here for my birthday and I'm so glad I did. The service was good and my reservation was honored early for my guests. I tried the Cacio e Pepe, a baked salmon roll and Frye squash cheesecake. I loved everything although the salmon roll was much simpler than I thought it would be (I ordered it off menu). The cheesecake was soo good. I'd eat here again for sure. Cocktails were good, as well.

Leona's has such a wonderful vibe and atmosphere, it's the kind of place you want to stay awhile. The cocktails are fantastic (honestly, I'd come here just for the drinks and the energy of the space). Perfect for a date night or a fun evening out with friends. The food was overall very good with some standout dishes. The octopus salad was absolutely delicious, and the nigiri was fire - fresh, high-quality fish and not rice-heavy. The rolls were also excellent, again highlighting the freshness of the fish. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good, though not the best I've had. The jicama tacos were interesting but a little bland for me, not something I'd order again. It is on the pricier side, my husband and I spent around $400 for late-night drinks and nibbles, and another time my girlfriend and I spent about $300 for drinks and five dishes. I think a lot of that comes with the location and the overall experience. Even though not every dish blew me away, the atmosphere, cocktails, and quality of the fish make this spot worth revisiting. I'll definitely be back.

The staff and vibes are nice. The bar room is a little too dark for my old eyes. The two stand out dishes were the spicy garlic edamame and the miso spaghetti. Everything else was good, but not incredible. The spicy seafood miso had potential. It was nice and smoky, but was slightly fishy. The sushi was fresh, but forgettable. The beef and pork skewers were also decent. Pricing was high though. The banana dessert and the chocolate dessert were also good. It was my neighbor's favorite part.

Absolutely loved our experience at Leona's! The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The service was warm and attentive, and what truly touched us was the owner's sweet gesture of bringing a special treat for the babies--such a thoughtful and kind touch. It made our visit feel extra special. We'll definitely be back!

TLDR: LOVE Leona's, halfway through our dinner we were already planning our next visit! Service all around was outstanding from the hostess, servers, bussers, everyone was friendly, kind, attentive, great knowledge of the menu. We felt very well cared for. The space itself is beautiful, open, airy, and the tables are nicely spread out so you're not on top of the table next to you. They have heaters and fireplaces so you feel very cozy. Random, but the tables are also big so you can easily share plates! Food: Miso Soup - such great flavor, big tofu chunks - comfort in a cup, highly recommend! Oxtail Bao - insanely tender oxtail, super juicy, highly recommend! Croquettes - light and tasty crab flavor, recommend. A5 Wagyu Nigiri - can't put my finger on it but it was just okay, not sure I'd order again. Veggie Roll - pickled veggies, refreshing flavor, you can sub soy paper too, highly recommend! Miso Cod - one of the best tasting dishes ever, mashed potatoes were a great touch, highly recommend! Flan - wowwww, so good and perfect size! As for the drinks, the lychee martinis were so light and delicious, super Tuscan was on point, old fashioned was nice and smoky! Next time we want to try the Udon Cacio e Pepe, Miso Spaghetti, Ribeye, and Paella! We were also greeted by the owner on our way out - that's the type of hospitality that makes you excited to return.

Leona's is my new little gem... the quality is incredible, everything is always fresh, the staff are kind, and the atmosphere is mellow given we went late Wednesday evening...

I met my cousins for lunch earlier today. It was my first time here. I had this placed saved in my bookmarks for a few months now and finally o got to try it. They open from 11:30 to 2:30 for lunch and dinner starts 5:30... Emma was our waitress and she was amazing. Very pleasant and friendly customer service. The restaurant has a great ambiance as well. Beautifully done with lots of greenery all around. Loved it The shishito peppers and the garlic edamame were flavorful and delicious. We ordered them twice. The rolls were good also but a bit on the smaller side. I loved the yellowtail cilantro roll and ordered it twice as well. Spicy albacore roll was also a hit by everyone. The crispy leeks added a lot of flavor to it. The other rolls were ok. The mini Japanese tacos served on jicama tortilla were amazing ... we loved them. Overall a great place to have lunch or dinner. Great food Great vibes and Great customer service.

The place is located in a small unassuming strip mall, but we had no problem finding parking in the lot and the inside was surprisingly nicely lit, beautiful, and clean. We opted to sit at the sushi bar for the full experience. For $80 the fish was fresh, presented well with no overly complicated flavors or garnishes needed. The service from both the sushi chefs and the server was great, and I left decently full. I particularly loved the hotate, or jumbo scallop, which was tender and sweet. I don't come to the Studio City area often but if I ever do I will have an excuse to come back!

For the location and price point, it just didn't really add up. I also wasn't obsessed with the service. Things didn't feel very seamless. We sat at the bar and had noticeable gaps between each dish. We'd finish a roll and find ourselves waiting and wondering when the next item would come out. I'm totally fine with courses coming out one at a time, but if that's the approach, the pacing should be much tighter. I left feeling like there's no real reason to come back, especially with so many other sushi spots nearby that better suit my taste.

Best of all, Teru was walking distance from my sister and bro-in-law's place, which is fortunate since street parking is tricky. Teru is a modern, trendy restaurant playing classic pop music with an intimate setting. A line of happy sushi chefs greet customers coming and going in the front. its funny since from the outside, the restaurant looks so unassuming from the street level. The food was excellent and I give 5-stars for the hot entrees like chicken teriyaki (5 stars) and the miso black cod appetizer (4 stars). Wife felt the miso was a bit too heavily sauced but I liked the rich flavors. We replaced the default rice with sushi rice and the sticky texture and vinegary flavor was well worth it. The Brussels sprouts and mushroom appetizer was also full of umami (4 stars). I got their nigiri combo with spicy tuna roll. Very good with fresh fish toppings (4 stars). I did not see an omakase option on the menu, but maybe that's off menu when price is not an issue. It turns out there is this small stretch in Ventura Blvd that has lots of sushi places, one that supposedly offers $400/person omakase.

It is a pretty small place and not loud which we enjoyed. Our server was sweet and attentive. It is pretty pricey but theres a reason for it. It's high quality, well curated pieces and made fresh. The only issue I had was the chopsticks. I was expecting a better one. It was impressive, unique, and incredibly delicious. After that experience, I remembered it as an outstanding restaurant and wanted to come back regularly. Last week , I decided to revisit and relive that experience. Unfortunately, I left deeply disappointed. The restaurant is still expensive, but the quality and taste are no longer what they used to be. We ordered a variety of sushi--overall, they were okay, but nothing that created a "wow" effect. The biggest letdown was the albacore with truffle. In all the sushi restaurants I've visited, I've never seen truffle presented like this. We waited quite a long time for the dish, and when it finally arrived, I honestly thought there had been a mistake and that it wasn't our order. I even asked the server to confirm, and they assured me it was correct. The dish cost $44, and it was absolutely not worth it. The truffle had no aroma or flavor--it looked more like some kind of brown substance, as if it had been sitting somewhere in the kitchen for months before being shaved onto the dish and served as "truffle." Very disappointing. I was really hoping to rediscover the place I once loved and return on a regular basis, but after this experience, I won't be coming back.

Service was on point from the start water, beer, and appetizer suggestions right away. I ordered baked mussels, crispy rice with spicy tuna, albacore sushi with crispy onions and their most popular roll, the CBS roll. Everything was great, but the CBS roll was the star. The flavor was impeccable, the albacore was a huge bonus and whatever sauce they use is next-level. The albacore sushi practically melted in my mouth. Crispy rice was fried perfectly just very filling and the mussels were baked just right. What really stood out besides the food was the service. Constant water refills, checking in about drinks, attentive without being overbearing. Also they're open for lunch, which is rare these days for sushi restaurants on Ventura post-COVID.
