We were hotel guests here and because daily breakfast was included in our stay we took advantage. Also, since I was celebrating my birthday the weekend of our stay I decided to book their afternoon tea experience. Their daily breakfast items were pretty good! So much so that it made me look forward to the afternoon tea experience--unfortunately, it was ruined for multiple reasons. First, my bff who couldn't make the trip from NY arranged for them to deliver champagne to our table with an explicit note "from T, happy birthday" but instead of ensuring that went smooth they actually just brought the bottle to the stable and said "whoever booked the reservation on their account added champagne to the account." While we all were shocked at the gesture, the statement was grossly confusing because EYE, the birthday girl, booked the reservation. So safe to say my friend who called and confirmed thoroughly with the hostess who promised she'd ensure the bar and waiters were informed was disappointed that they did not deliver on a very simple ask. Then, 2 guests experienced GI issues about 5-6 hours later, ruining the rest of the celebratory day. We're certain it was the meat from the savory bites of the tea experience. Lastly, they were asked to split the bill and while doing so charged one guest double. When attempts were made to fix this, they became very slow to respond to emails and calls and insisted that it was maybe a tipped amount but wouldn't produce the receipt--also gratuity was already included, between the service and ruined surprise why would our party pay double on tip. Aside from that, the Hispanic hostess was distant and never greeted us with so much of a hello every time we visited. The black hostess on the other hand was welcoming, so much so she helped us figure out how to get our Stillwell leftovers reheated during one of our visits for breakfast. Our waiter, Oliver or Oscar (forgot his name) was vv nice but he was a little hard to track down at times. Of the breakfast items, everything was a 8-9 out of 10 except he wasn't a fan of the hash brown. It was a very savory bite remindful of thanksgiving breaded stuffing molded and fried--I thought it was unique and good, he on the other hand preferred old faithful potatoes! It's decorated very nicely, amazing sunlight and very cute furniture. I wouldn't ever attend their afternoon tea again, and am not sure if I would try breakfast once more. We were given tips after the fact and will use that discretion when looking for places to dine.

I went here on 6/1 which happens to be my birthday which is on a Monday! I'm so happy it was during the week bc the restaurant was empty just the way I like it! The restaurant is on the rooftop so ofc naturally as girls do we took some fire pics before rewarding ourselves with the hard work we just did. The restaurant is obviously stunning the staff was nice and not overbearing. We ordered a good amount of food which left us full and satisfied. Our server was Amanda and she was so sweet and kind! Will definitely be back!

The food here is overpriced and less than mediocre. The Caesar salad was actually terrible. Like how does one mess up a Caesar salad. They were very stingy with the dressing! The crab cake also had a fishy taste and didn't have enough sauce for dipping. They provided a line of sauce solely for aesthetics. I ended up paying nearly $80 for just myself. The mocktails were ridiculously overpriced as well being $14! The interior and views were pretty though. I would not come here for the food!

THE BIG: Located at the top of the Hotel Swexan. Beautiful rooftop restaurant with plants everywhere. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking garage available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I was staying here for a night and got breakfast at Leonie. Seating was pretty seamless however the service was very slow and there was only a few people inside. For food, I ordered my omelet with ham, spinach, tomatoes and onions. I was impressed that the waiter didn't take any notes down. I also got a latte. The latte came out pretty quick. However the omelet came out almost 40 minutes later AND the staff took forever to get my check. Food was alright but nothing to brag home about. From start to finish, I think I spent around 1 and a half hours end to end to drink my coffee and get my omelette. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, food was alright. Views and decor was tip top. Service could've been better.

I enjoyed my pasta, and the service was fast. Not only is the restaurant stunning inside, but the views from the pool area are also immaculate.

I celebrated my birthday here and it was so easy to book a large group with a week in advance, I was already impressed. I've been to the other places at this hotel but just discovered this place and when I saw the views I had to have my birthday dinner here. The staff were great and food tasted good. The drinks were great also! The atmosphere is very beautiful and would be great to be here for their lunch too so I'll be returning to check them out during the day. The pool right outside is beautiful and would be nice to come here when it's warmer.

I had the pleasure of enjoying brunch at Leonie last weekend, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was beautiful and refreshing, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. Our waiter--whose name I unfortunately didn't catch--provided excellent and attentive service throughout. The food was just as impressive. I ordered the French toast, which was absolutely delicious, and my friend had the eggs Benedict, which she said was the best she's ever had. We will definitely be coming back.

We went to holiday tea here and loved it. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was cute and beautiful views of downtown Dallas, and the food was unique and tasty. We've been to a few tea places, and while this one was pricey, it definitely felt elevated as well. Only things I would change are getting a pot of tea versus having to wait for them to bring it out to us each time, having a small fork in addition to the spoon and knife, and warming up the scones. Nice afternoon tea service though and we had a blast! Free valet parking as well!

Such a beautiful setting! Went right at sunset. However, it's seems like this is more of a lunch spot than a dinner destination. The tables were so tiny, please do not expect to have room for any of your side plates with your entree. It felt strange walking past people at the pool to get to your dinner reservation. I would come back again, but just for a more casual lunch.

Food was delicious! The vibe and atmosphere was the best part! Went here for a night out in Dallas! Rooftop view is beautiful. Service from the host and waiters was also amazing! Drinks were decently priced.

We had a great time doing the Tea at Hotel Swexan. The atmosphere within Leonie was excellent and the staff were all extremely friendly. We got the Noel tea and an English breakfast tea which were both of high quality and tasted great. The food that they bring with the tea was also all very good. The scones were phenomenal and we really liked almost all of the middle tray finger foods. The desserts had great attention to detail and were also of high quality. We were blown away by this experience and would definitely come back.

There is a sentence on CBD Provisions' Instagram that I want to read to you because it is doing a…read morelot of work in very few words. "A brasserie in boots." That's it. That's the whole thing. French discipline, Texas spirit, six syllables, no further explanation offered or required, and if you do not immediately understand exactly what that means the moment you walk into The Joule on Main Street then I do not know what to tell you except that the rosemary tallow fries are going to clarify things very quickly. CBD Provisions opened in 2013 as the Joule Hotel's in-house restaurant, became famous for a crispy pig's head carnitas that required you to pull strips of meat off an actual half pig's head at the table and tuck them into tortillas, which is a dish so committed to its own bit that it belongs in a museum, and then closed in July 2025 for a months-long renovation that brought in new culinary director Sezer Deniz. Deniz trained under Chef Jean Paul Naquin at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France. He has twenty-plus years in Michelin-starred kitchens including Alinea in Chicago. He is now making breakfast tacos inside a hotel in downtown Dallas and I want to be very clear that this is a promotion. The room has exposed brick and wood floors and steel beams and mosaic tile and antique mirrors and railcar booth seating and a center banquette and stone tabletops, all of which sounds like it should be competing with itself but instead produces the specific feeling of a place that has been here long enough to know what it is. I sat at the bar, which is the correct place to sit, and ordered the short rib corn cake stack, which is braised short rib and avocado and two poached eggs and a poblano hollandaise and which arrives looking like the cover of a cookbook that does not exist but absolutely should. The poblano hollandaise is the detail I keep returning to. Not regular hollandaise. Poblano hollandaise. Someone in that kitchen made a decision to take a classical French sauce with two centuries of culinary tradition behind it and introduce it to a pepper from Puebla, Mexico, and what resulted is something that makes you look at regular hollandaise and think, you had potential, you just never reached it. I ate the entire thing and then contemplated ordering another one and then did not because I am a person with limits, technically. The CBD Provisions burger is a double smash with American cheese and grilled onion and house pickles and something called fancy sauce, which is a name I respect enormously because it is not pretending to be anything other than exactly what it is. It comes with rosemary tallow fries, which are the reason I will order this burger every time I come here for the rest of my life. Rosemary. Tallow. Fries. Three words that in combination produce something that should be legally classified as a controlled substance. French in method, Texan in manner. Boots and a brasserie. The Joule has been on Main Street for years and CBD Provisions has been feeding people inside it for over a decade, new chef and new tile floors notwithstanding, and it has figured out the thing that most hotel restaurants never figure out, which is that the goal is not to remind you that you are eating in a hotel. The goal is to make you forget entirely. I forgot entirely. The tallow fries helped.
