The vibe and the food here are really good. I made a reservation today at 11:15 and got there a bit early. The server sat me down promptly and placed a reserved sign on the table, which made me feel special. Ordering was easy enough: the menus are in the front of the cafe and you order there before you sit down with your number. I got the shakshuka with grilled sourdough and the elderberry hibiscus. I really liked the sourdough bread that came with the shakshuka. It tasted really fresh and homemade, and it paired well with the tomatoey, eggy and cheesy shakshuka. I also liked that the tea was not sweet at all and appreciated that I could actually taste the floweriness of it. The ambience in the cafe was good too. Overall, my experience here was great. I would definitely like to go back and try the other foods they have there, as well as their coffee. PS. I think option 3 to get to the restaurant on their map is the best. I visited during a busy time with long lines for a table, but I was lucky to place a to-go drink order instead. I tried the matcha strawberry latte, which had a nice level of sweetness, though I wish the matcha flavor had been a bit stronger since the strawberry puree slightly overpowered it. We sadly had a disappointing experience at LEORA. I'll start off by saying the food is great! The hostess told us about an hour wait which we understood as it looked busy. A little over an hour we came back asking if there was a table available and she said we were coming up. We responded asking for a time estimate and she said "A few minutes, next time make a reservation." We were in shock. Do better. After being seated, we asked for a tuna melt on sourdough (which we saw other tables receive) but were told it's only available on weekdays. It was later served to us on a bagel -- which we didn't ask for -- and we found out it could have been done the way we originally requested. Our waitress was sweet but clearly overwhelmed. I asked to be charged separately for a coffee I never received, despite following up several times over 20+ minutes. By now you can assume we were very fed up with the lack of service and rudeness. When we asked to speak to a manager, he finally arrived and responded with a rude, condescending tone after no one wanted to call him for us. The manager came and told us twice not to come back after we said we didn't know Sunday's are this busy. He could have told us specific days that were calmer so we can continuously come as we love supporting businesses like these especially Jewish owned. All we said was we didn't think it would be this busy and that we should come on slower days!!! As loyal, paying customers, we left feeling disrespected and embarrassed over a simple iced coffee that was their mistake. LEORA has been on my list for a very long time and I was stoked that I finally got to go today. It's a little hidden in between the UTA and Live Nation offices. There was plenty of parking and it was pretty crowded for a Monday but still easy to get a table during lunch rush hour. My friends and I knew we were going to split the Holy Schnitz sandwich and it did not disappoint. I would come back and just get that every day. The challah was fresh and warm and the schnitzel was so thin but not dry. All the flavors really worked together. We wanted to split something else and the person taking our order suggested their Caesar wrap as one of their top items. This is what's making me give 4 stars instead of 5, as while there was a dressing on the side, the wrap itself was very dry and I wouldn't get it again. The drinks were also phenomenal! My friend got the frozen coffee and I got the Sunset. It's a mix of mango puree, homemade lemonade, and hibiscus iced tea. Let me start with this: I love leora. I've been here a dozen times. I normally get the hummus and chorizo -- it's great. But today (Saturday 12pm rush) I ordered the breakfast platter, among other things. My order was ~$100 -- so, not cheap. The menu says the breakfast platter comes with two fried eggs, toast, matbucha, hummus, labneh, and Israeli salad -- great meal for $20. My breakfast platter came with tahini and matbucha, but no hummus and no labneh. When I went in to ask, the manager said there was a menu error and the player comes with tahini. To her credit, she comped me a side of hummus -- but when I went back to the table I realized there was no labneh -- I mean, peep the picture, maybe I missed it? It's delicious, don't get me wrong, but missing two items on an expensive breakfast plate and writing it off as a menu error is disappointing. I'll be back, but I expected better. They'd lose 99% of their breakfast burrito sales if Wake & Late decided to open up a location next door. Its a wrap filled with 50% avocado, 45% eggs, 5% bacon and whatever else was in there. Salsa was bland. Tastes like the salsa you'd get at just about any regular taco stand in LA. Can't speak to the rest of their menu but if their breakfast burrito is supposedly 'popular'.. it would leave one to question whether the rest of the menu is even on par with Starbucks food. read more

I know I know it's fashionable to love a good tuna melt but when I say, I've always loved a good tuna melt and always on lookout for a good tuna melt I mean it. Leora has not just a good tuna melt but a great tuna melt super simple, but the bread is grilled expertly. The tuna is flavorful a bit of crunch and not wet. The cheese is perfect. Just a great sandwich and the coffee, drinks and all the other food are on point as well just a bit funky to find, but you'll be happy when you do. DON'T GO HERE. My friends and I had one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had at Leora. Two of my friends ordered breakfast burritos: one with bacon, one without. Both arrived with bacon, so they sent the no-bacon one back. When the replacement finally came (after the rest of us had already finished eating), it ALSO had bacon in it. Management offered to replace it with a Caesar salad with salmon. We confirmed there was no bacon. She took it to go because we were already done... and when she opened it at home, there was again a piece of bacon in the salad. She contacted the restaurant and send a picture they confirmed it was bacon. This was careless, frustrating, and honestly unacceptable. Terrible experience. I discovered Leora shortly after they opened, on a recommendation from my cousin who knew the chef, and I'm so glad I did. From the very beginning, the food was outstanding. I was ordering two to three times a week through Uber Eats the portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and everything I ordered was consistently excellent. I never had a bad meal. I'm honestly happy I found them before they became as popular as they are now. These days there's often close to an hour wait to dine in, which speaks volumes about the quality and the work the owners have put in. Even now, I still order delivery regularly and the food continues to be fantastic. They've adjusted delivery pricing over time, which makes complete sense given the high commissions charged by third-party delivery services, and the value is still there. Early on, they even recognized my name on orders and would include a cookie with a handwritten smiley a thoughtful touch that showed how much they cared in those early days. While the personal touches naturally change as a restaurant grows, I'm genuinely happy to see their success. As a fellow entrepreneur, it's great to watch people who work this hard do so well. Well deserved. One last thing I have to say -- my aunt would probably be furious if she read this, but they make the best latkes. And coming from me, that's a very big statement. We were a bit unsure about Leora after our first visit, where we had to wait two hours for a table, but it was surprisingly worth it as we determined after our dining experience. On our second visit, we made a reservation the night before and just walked right in--it was so easy! The frozen matcha? So creamy and refreshing; I couldn't get enough. The Seasonal Fruit Plate was awesome too, so fresh and at the peak of ripeness. The Schnitzel & Fries, Steak & Eggs, and Tater Tots-- fantastic! Seriously, you can't go wrong here. Our server, Bryan, was a gem! Super friendly and made us feel right at home, which added to the whole experience. Just a heads up, the location can be a bit tricky to find, but if you follow the signs, you'll get to one of the best brunch spots around. Kind of confusing to find the restaurant. We entered a medical building at first but thankfully there were signs pointing us in the direction of the restaurant so we made it! The food was fantastic. I really enjoyed my Caesar tahini salad with salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly. My friend also really enjoyed the Jerusalem bagel sandwich. She said the bread was very fluffy and soft. We added our name to the waitlist when we first got in and they estimated a 30 min wait which was closer to a 45 min wait but at least they texted us when our table was ready so we were able to spend the time walking around and exploring the area. Came here right after checking into the hotel. They are not easy to find, but that is absolutely not the reason for 2 stars. 2 stars are for the most important thing in any F&B establishment: food... I ordered chicken shawarma bowl and it was an absolute disappointment... chicken kaftas were burned... same was side of falafel... tahin was very watery, chopped salad did not have any taste, the only two things in the bowls that tasted somewhat eatable were pickles and eggplant... so much hype and food that will not make me want to return.
