Cap'n crunchy french toast & sausage links
    Sarah A.

Blown away by the quality here! Absolutely everything was great. The Cap'n Crunch french toast was surprisingly amazing! The sausage links were top notch, coffee was really good, the fountain coke was perfect, the turkey and bacon in the club were so good too. I'm excited to go back and try more things.

Olivia was our server. We come here after church quite a bit. They are always friendly. The ambiance is very casual. The food is if good quality and there is lots to chose from. We walk in to a board of specials. They even have a place for us to hang out coats while we are eating. Lots of variety on the menu. Salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers and dinner meals. We recommend this place for a good lunch.

Leo's Coney Island is located in a small shopping/restaurant strip with ample parking. Even though the restaurant is not seating customers now (May 2020) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can still place orders for pick-up. Nothing is lost in quality with to-go orders. The menu spans breakfast items to sandwiches and of course, coney dogs. I have enjoyed everything that I've tried and you can't beat the value! Place an order to-go now to support this local business, and when stay at home orders are lifted and customers can return to restaurant dining, stop in to eat! The restaurant is clean and service is quick and friendly.

My favorite greek salad of all Michigan

Never seems to disappoint especially the Greek salad. I have been to multiple locations at many different times and its always delicious. It may be busy but the food quality is on point. This is my closest location. I have been a customer for 30 yrs and will continue to come to the restaurant that has my favorite greek salad.

There is no better Coney Island in the Ann Arbor/Saline area!! The staff is so sweet & good at what they do and the food is incredible. We've been going to this location for years and like to think of them as our extended family. My sweet Mom is in the end stages of brain cancer & whenever she gets to choose dinner, it's Leo's. And it HAS to be Leo's in Saline. :) Highly recommend!!

I wasn't a fan of this place. Our waitress for many orders wrong for our table and disappeared for long periods of time. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and fries...fries are extra. It was extremely dry. My nephew was given the incorrect order and my sister in law was only given half of her order. The waitress disappeared for so long that my brother had to go up to the front to ask someone for straws and napkins. The waitress ending up taking a small percentage off of the bill (without asking) so I thought that was nice but the whole experience was so bad, that it didn't make it any better. The restaurant was busy the day we were there, so maybe this was a random bad experience!

In the "Walmart" mall in Saline.

Even if you've never been there, you have probably heard of Leo's Coney Island. They have 50+ locations in SE lower Michigan. The Saline location has been in the "Walmart" mall for a few years now. You can tell that they put some thought (and $) into making the interior look nice, with elegant sconce lighting, marble table tops and screen printed logos on the glass dividers between booths. They serve all the classic coney island fare from American and Greek cuisine - several pages of choices. Our waiter was ready to help us right after we sat down. I had to ask her to give me another minute to decide what to order. She must have had to keep track of a lot of tables, so there was no time to dilly-dally. She got us what we needed at the right times, and moved on. I decided to get a small Caesar salad with a grilled chicken breast on top. The small salad turned out to be rather generous. The bowl was about 8" in diameter, and you get a lot of salad. I liked the Romaine lettuce, definitely a step up from regular head lettuce. The dressing was just OK - I thought it was too acidic and "industrial" tasting. They sure gave me plenty. If I had the chance to order this salad again, I'd tell them to leave off the croutons. They were the same size and color as the grilled chicken (which somehow I assumed would be sliced into skinny strips - don't ask me why) and about the same quantity. I think the croutons overwhelmed the salad, which was served with a white pita bread, which I'd rather have than all the croutons. I didn't want a carbo overload, so I didn't eat all of my pita. Hubby got a cheeseburger. It had lettuce and tomato on it. He said it was fine. Fries are extra. He didn't want any that day. The lemonade without ice (I usually prefer not to freeze my esophagus) was too sugary. I couldn't drink much. I'm spoiled with my not too sweet home made lemonade with Stevia powder. Tough act to follow. Leo's is busy. They get a lot of business. I noticed a few small shreds of paper on the floor, here and there. A high traffic area. There are TVs on the walls, but the one closest to us was turned off or not working, not that I was interested in the talk show that was playing on the other wall. With a sports bar next door, I guess you'd go over there if you wanted a sports channel. Oh, and the front door squeaks so much, you'd think they'd notice, and do something about that.

Try the gyro sandwich- it is stuffed with diced tomatoes, rings of raw white onions and shreds of lettuce. A large cup of zsatziki sauce comes with it, so there is plenty to dip a side of fries into. I enjoy the chicken salad sandwich on wheat, toasted with cheese (it comes with swiss but I always swap for shredded cheddar) and I add tomato slices and lettuce to it. These are my favorites here! They offer sides of onion rings or mozzarella sticks, too. Soup and chili (get it with cheese, onions and sour cream) are always good here. There's a nice breakfast menu with pancakes, eggs, hash browns but nothing too fancy. It is quick, it is cheap and will let you get on your way without hurting your wallet. The call-in curbside service lately has been very convenient and the handwritten notes on the box made us smile--we even got a free extra bag of fries last time! Highly recommend!

I can be very critical of restaurants. I have over 20 years food service experience. From the UK to the USA. I will say that every dish that was prepared for us was absolutely phenomenal! The timing of the service of the dinner was very good. No long waits, and the food was served hot, the proper temperatures. We had steamed mussels with the home made bread. The pairing was excellent. My wife has never eaten alligator and she surprised me by suggesting that she would like to try it. The taste was very fresh, lightly battered and spiced to perfection. My wife does not like spicy food, but she enjoyed it. We next tried the soups. She had the Mariners chowder and I had the gumbo. I have lived in Southern Mississippi, and I will say that the gumbo is by far one of the best that I have ever had. The Mariners chowder was also very good, but the gumbo was exceptional. For our entree my wife had the Lobster roll and 1 had the Jambalaya. The Lobster roll came on a grilled roll and the lobster stuffing was very fresh tasting. The Jambalaya was spicy the way it should be. The serving size was abundant. For dessert we had key lime pie and cheese cake with a strawberry. Both were very very good. The wait staff were very friendly and answered any questions that we had about the menu. The little bread chunks were very good. The Caesar salad and salmon was good. On the other hand my fish and chips left a lot to be desired. It came with two pieces of fish, a little ramican of coleslaw and french fries, in what my wife described as a cute little basket. The fish was almost chocolate brown. You couldn't even stab your fork into it. Now I've eaten here a number of times in the past. But never have I had fish that well done. I had a coffee but was never ever asked if I needed a refill. At 1 point the server was standing right at my table. I was holding my cup, which was over half empty, and they never asked if I wanted to refill. The bill with tip came to thirty eight dollars. Maybe that's why I haven't been here in a while. I worked at Long John Silvers for 3 years, back in the 1980's. I was the manager, and if I ever seen a piece of fish came out that brown, it would have went in the garbage. If you're feeling lucky someday, go ahead and give it a try. But don't blame me.
