Visiting the area for work and knew that I needed to try a cheesesteak. First off, a "small" is enough for 2-3 people. WAAAAY too much for me. I requested no peppers or catsup and extra grilled onions and cheese. That's not what I got! I got catsup, no extra cheese or onions. It was good, but I must say that my little Korean owned cheesesteak shop in a strip mall around the corner from me in Sacramento, CA provides a tastier (maybe not "authentic") but more to my taste, cheesesteak. It was raining today and there is no inside seating. So in order to have a hot sandwich, I had to eat in my car and didn't have enough room to take a photo. This was not a bad steak, but I've tried the local, which was what I wanted to do. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I was in Philly for 24 hours for work and it was my first time. I went to Leo's and I let them know "this will be my first Philly cheesesteak in Philly and I'm from Chicago, how should I have it?" The person who I believe was the owner, came to the front and gave my friend and I the whole breakdown about the onions, peppers, etc. We had it how he recommended it and it was AMAZING. It's a Philly style steak place. Walk in pick up your food and leave. A large can feed a family, they pack plenty of meat in the roll. You can get fries now and there is chips and in racks and coolers. Don't expect Italian hoagies or wings... it's a steak place. They just do great streaks. read more

More accurately 4.5 but they don't have that option! Cheesesteaks are big and not too greasy I ordered a large and a small. I also ordered a small Italian hoagie and it was delicious I love how all the meat was thin sliced it made a difference and it was packed! Unassuming Philly steak shop nails it! Make any Philly cheesesteak combo from the menu items, but the meat is what's great. Low on gristle, easy to bite and swallow. Was craving a mushroom cheesesteak due to them damn youtube videos lol but somehow that didn't happen. I searched for the best cheesesteak in the Delco area and Leo's came up with plenty of high ratings. I placed my order with the kind woman on the phone and drove 15mins to get my food. The gentleman who rang me up was friendly and it appears that everyone behind the counter was too. I got the food and drove another 15mins home just to find out that I received a mushroom steak with no cheese (maybe it's a sign for my fatass). I know this was probably a simple mistake but because of this mistake, I have to give it a 3-star, especially since the steak didn't hit the spot. Now for the review about the mushroom steak. It was very filling and they gave plenty of meat. The grilled onion was chopped finer than I like and there wasn't enough of it in my opinion. The meat itself was okay but I think it could've used some more salt. Mushroom and the green pepper were good but I'm still thinking about my missing cheese wiz which would have brought the steak together. Would I recommend this spot for their steak... I guess so but I don't eat enough plain steaks to really judge. I would however recommend checking it out because of the friendly staff and the amount of meat you get. Just make sure you confirm that you have cheese on your cheesesteak. Maybe one day I'll try this place again. read more

Before I went gluten-free, a stop at Leo's was necessary every time we were in Philly. Their cheesesteaks are the real deal for real. Yelp has never let me down. In town for a business trip and wanted an authentic experience. If you're looking for a great philly cheesesteak, this is the place to go! I had a cheesesteak with mushrooms, onions, and hot peppers. It was steaming hot off the grill and the meat was piled high. The small is a full meal in of it's self. Was in PA didn't really know where I was so I google And this place popped up. They had good reviews so I figured I would give it a try. Sandwich was very good, considering they gave me the wrong sandwich. The steak was perfectly cooked, tons of meat! The small was huge, just enough cheese and the bun was great! There is no seating inside, they do have tables outside though. You just walk up to the counter and tell them everything you want on your sandwich. My boys are grown men now but they grew up on Leos cheesesteaks. No other cheesesteaks compare to Leos. They have to have one a few times a month. The steaks are so big you can only eat half. They are the best in the Philadelphia region. People come all the way from Delaware and Jersey to buy. It's fairly close to the airport and travelers get their steaks to travel. Leo's always delivers. The steak is massive, can split with a friend or take half home. Leo's never skimps on portions. Steak is high quality and finely chopped. Cheese melted to perfection on a delicious roll that is crusty on the outside and spongy inside - just like it's supposed to be. Nice location to spend time with family and friends. Kudos to the staff, very polite and helpful. They greet you with a big fat smile on the face and that goes a long way. Will definitely order again, pointless to say that the food is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. Parking can be a little problem but overall the experience was worth it. read more

Excellent sandwich. I had the pepper steak and it was amazing. The large sandwich is ridiculously HUGE! It could feed 4 people IMO.

There is a private lot off to the side of the building that the store is located. There is also street parking located within a reasonable walking distance. The staff there was friendly enough, even though my interaction with them was limited. The store has all that you would want in a convenience store including scratch offs, beer, soda, juice, chips, and candy. It appeared very cluttered and dirty. There were boxes all over the floor. You will find a couple of booth tables in the store's small dining area. The booths were in bad shape and I had to weave between some boxes to get to them. It was nice to have the dine in option though because I had caught a bus to get her from my hotel. This place serves burgers, sandwiches, wings, fish, fries hoagies and steak and cheeses. I ordered the Jerk chicken cheesesteak sandwich, with a side of fries. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my food. It was fresh and and delicious. It was packed with flavor and there was a ton of food. While I was there, they were receiving a a shipment of drinks, which caused them to leave the front door open. On a normal day this would not have been an issue, but it was a very cold day and I was freezing while I ate in the dining. area. I finished my food quickly to get out of there. This place has some very good food, but the location and cleanliness and order of the place is purely wretched. I was willing to accept that, but some people may not and so this review is just to make you aware.

I have had the opportunity to order food from here several times over the last several years and they have one of the most unique "pizza shop" restaurant menus out there and even have a massive selection of tacos that you can pick from. I have had several opportunities to write my review of this spot, but it wasn't until I discovered something very special here that finally drove me to write my full opinion. My most recent visit to America's Pie was one born of laziness. Everyone at home wanted something different and we didn't want to cook, so we were simply looking at places that would be easy that we don't order from that often and landed here. The menu is so large that I was being indecisive and that was when I saw it...all the way at the bottom of the sandwiches section, what I have now identified as one of the top three sandwiches I have ever had in my life, and I've had a lot of sandwiches: the Tony Bourdain. A strange combination of ingredients, all delicious and savory in their own right, brought together to create a bread-borne experience unlike few, if any, that I have ever had before. This seriously is one of, if not, THE BEST sandwiches that I have ever had. It is not what it looks like, or the way it is constructed that makes it so good. What makes it so amazing is the absolutely mastery and command of the knowledge of the ingredients, the quality of those ingredients, and their interaction together on the flavors they will produce when combined within the very high quality seeded roll that it all comes neatly packed within. It is not a pretty, easy to eat and clean sandwich. It gets everywhere, and it is worth it. You SHOULD get this sandwich, for the culinary perfection, but also to honor the late Anthony Bourdain. This is definitely a meal that properly honors the man and his legacy. America's Pie isn't perfect but it is one of the best pizza/sandwich/pasta places in my area of Delco. Hands down. The specialty sandwiches really take it to the next level and that Tony Bourdain shoots them into the stratosphere. You will never have a bad meal here. They are local people making great food, with a local but very friendly attitude, and want you to enjoy everything you order. Explore the menu and check them out. I made a pledge to work my way through the sandwich menu just because that sandwich was so damn good and I am excited about every single one that I check off that list. I always customize my order with substitutions and they are always willing to accommodate, and the two times I've had an issue, they have remade my order within a short period of time. I recommend their pizza slices, sandwiches, and wraps. The staff are always wonderful. The owners do a lot for the local community, they do days where they donate proceeds and provide free pizza for the local businesses. My company has also done hoagie catering with America's Pie and it's a great deal for great food.

I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. Now I just need to plan out my flights so I can come get breakfast here again and try one of the sandwiches, or omelettes, or maybe get French toast again...

Jim's West competes solidly for the title of Best Cheesesteak Joint in Phialdephia. Larry's, Max's, Dalessandro's and Chubby's...it doesn't matter! Jim's West is guaranteed to give you a heavy cheesesteak at a good deal. Real Amoroso rolls, traditionally wrapped, they don't skimp on any ingredients, they have Kosher Hoagies, and the Steak is even Halal!! Alhamdulillah! You can't top that apart from variance of luck. They're the only place to have the Banana Pudding Special (best banana pudding too), they have great Strawberry Lemonade with real strawberries in it!....and if that's not enough to sweeten the pot, they're the only place that offers the maximum variety of Cheese Options. They have Cooper Sharp sure, but they also have Pepperjack like a couple of the others do, and are the *only* cheesesteak joint to still offer Swiss since the pandemic. Cheese Whiz: Hit Or Myth is one of my favorite newspaper articles because Whiz is trash and American is the Philadelphia Style default. But at Jim's, whiz is different. It doesn't make your cheesesteak taste like macaroni, or plastic. Whatever whiz they're using is more like cheddar and enhances the flavor of the meat much like Provolone does. You can get spinach and broccoli on your Chicken Cheesesteaks, I love this kind of variety and I'm already planning to try this when it's time fur my next visit. If you don't want the steak chopped finely, just ask them not to. If you want it cooked as lightly as possible, just tell them! They are nice here and they will hook you up! Otherwise they are very consistent, they virtually never give overcooked steak. You can see how closely they pay attention to the grill as they cook and they actively toss away burnt bits of steak. I went here twice a day for over a week straight and got steaks from each cook at least once!! I believe in this joint. It has real history behind it as the 2nd oldest cheesesteak joint in Philadelphia, the first in West Philadelphia period. "New Ownership" but literally all the best staff from the old ownership. The same cooks, the same genuinely nice and friendly people that worked here since I was a kid. Know your roots. This place will treat you right.

Braised Italian pork roasted peepers and sharp prov. With a large Fry All were hot and delicious. Cheese was nice and melted in the steak and pork and the seeded roll was very fresh. Two of us could only eat half. Other half is lunch tomorrow.
