All marinated meats were too salty I mean not even Korean flavors It was like going to grandmas and she sprinkled nature seasoning over everything it all had the same nasty salty taste and we lived in California where there are tons of hot pot Korean grills so we know what it should taste like and the meat was tough . No lettuce to wrap meat and if you have been to a real Korean bbq you wrap your meat in them with Japche didn't have that either, the chopped lettuce you couldn't order without dressing the lettuce was old ,the manager and wait staff was perfect I mean the manager was so nice we didn't even complain and offered to commend her to the owner but the owner she said was trying to fix the dishwasher ...that was the best part of the experience the manager now the food equal gross compared to all others in the area , we won't return. $$$35 a person , no outside seating ps no bar to get appetizers etc like all others have

I wouldn't come here again. I understand it just opened up so I didn't go in with high expectations but wow. One of the guys left a bottle of spray next to my chair and never picked it back up. Adding a 12$ technology robot fee is not part of the customers responsibility. I came in expecting 70 to 80$. I paid 91$ at the end. The robot was severely behind on orders and I expected a waiter to help put orders out but no. Food was good. Would've loved to have seen veggie cakes. Would've loved to have a spoon with my rice instead of a fork. Also for the veggies it would've been nice to have a list of what was actually going to come out instead of 'grilled veggies' just incase someone is allergic or didn't like it. Also what place doesn't have iced tea??

Best Korean bbq in KC. Quality food. Friendly staff. Ambiance is nice for a bday party or corporate event. Quite well established.

The best barbecue in the world. Go to the original. You won't be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!read more

This is arguably the most legendary barbecue restaurant in Kansas City. What's it like to wait in…read moreline for almost half an hour on a Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm? Burnt Ends: The best dish of the day, truly a representative of Kansas City barbecue. The perfect balance of fat and lean meat--the fat was tender and oily, the lean was soft and juicy--a truly soul-satisfying experience. Unfortunately, it was a little too salty. Dipping it in the sweet, sour, and slightly spicy Night of the Living Bar-B-Q Sauce neutralized the saltiness and added a touch of stimulation to the taste buds, elevating it to another level. Ribs: Once selected as one of the "America's Best" ribs. The picture shows only half slab, which feels a bit small . The fat melted into the muscle fibers, making the meat firm on the surface but actually tender; it fell off the bone with a gentle touch. The seasoning was very restrained, with only a subtle smoky flavor, highlighting the natural aroma of the meat. It's great with a simple dip of salt and black pepper, but even better with a little lemon juice! Pulled Pork: Tender and juicy, not dry at all, with a rich smoky flavor--the best pulled pork I've ever had. Sausage: Firm and springy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a rich smoky flavor, a warm aroma of black pepper, and a distinct sweetness. The Z-Man: A legendary sandwich created in 1997. The smoked brisket and Provolone cheese create a robust aroma, while the onion rings add a crispy texture. However, the Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que Sauce was too strong and sweet, largely masking the natural flavors of the ingredients. In some ways, it's better enjoyed separately. Creamy Cole Slaw: Standard flavor profile, with just little toppings, quite refreshing. BBQ Beans: A surprisingly delightful side dish! Various beans were stewed with grilled beef brisket and shredded pork. The meat melted in the sauce, resulting in a rich and mellow flavor; the beans were incredibly soft, served hot with a hint of spiciness--a truly comforting meal. Potato Salad: The salad dressing was too creamy and sweet. Slide of Texas Toast: The toast itself was quite ordinary, but soaked in the grilled meat juices, it became completely different! All the meats are pre-grilled, and the staff cuts them according to the order. I imagine it would be even better if they were freshly grilled, but given the price and the self-service nature with no tipping required, it's incredibly affordbale in the US.

He was incredibly kind, accommodating, gave great recommendations, and went above and beyond. You never know what to expect with a chain-like BBQ spot, but this place did NOT disappoint. The appetizers were amazing- we got the potato skins and beef burnt ends. The BBQ it self was delicious.. my husband and I got the prime short rib and brisket burnt ends (in photo), cheesy corn, baked beans (were smoky not too sweet), onion rings (SO GOOD), and slaw (a bit watery but okay). I would not recommend the pork burnt ends, the brisket ones were 10/10- thanks for the rec Ron. My kids got the kids rib plate. The kids ribs were a tad bit dry- but the prime short rib we got was UNREAL. Lastly.... The turtle cheesecake..... holy cow... Overall 10/10 experience- highly recommend!!

Was a lot of people waiting on a Friday night but was only about 20 minutes to be seated. I noticed after they take reservations on Open Table. Pretty much everybody at the table got the burnt ends and sausage combo. I got bbq beans and steamed veggies for my sides. Didn't notice the grilled veggie choice until I saw my wife's. Get the grilled veggies. They're grilled over wood and soak up the flavor. My steamed veggies were sad in comparison. The beef brisket burnt ends were awesome and had a delicious seasoning bark. My wife's pork burnt ends were equally good. The sausage was ok but looked like a giant summer sausage. Odd texture vs what I am used to so wasn't my favorite. We also shared fried mushrooms which were some of the best I've had. If you're craving BBQ when in Blue Springs, MO this is your place!

After looking on yelp and eagerly anticipating trying my first KC bbq, this did not do it for me…read more Objectively, there was nothing wrong with my meal. I ordered beef burnt ends, they were juicy and melt in your mouth, but something about the spice blend or bbq sauce just didn't taste all that great to me. The bbq sauce was nothing like I was expecting, but for the sake of getting breasted by the internet, I was expecting a flavor profile similar to KC masterpiece. Thick and spicy molasses flavored, this was a little more tomato than molasses IMO. Meat did not have a strong smoke flavor to it either. But honestly, I'm sure other folks would love this, objectively nothing wrong with it, just did not taste as I was anticipating. Online ordering and pickup was easy which was nice as they were packed when I went in!

For the sides the coleslaw was very refreshing and crunchy, the baked beans had so much flavor depth and the potato salad had the perfect amount of texture. The only thing left to be desired was the jalapeño cornbread it was a bit lackluster and didn't taste much of any jalapeño, the honey butter could've used more honey and a pinch of flaky sea salt. Over all I would give it 8.5/10. Side note: service was wonderful, everyone was very friendly and accommodating

Originally I thought the bird end fries were going to be mid but the meat was really rich and the thickness of the fries really helped. I wish I had more. I was told when you get the meat you supposed to drown it and sauce and I thought that it was going to be like that for the ribs but they weren't I was disappointed at first. The meat was very flavorful and you can tell they put some real love in the meat. Bold, spiced, savory and salted perfectly. I came from recommendations from a Lyft driver but he told me there was mac and cheese but there wasn't mac and cheese on the app. I was sad about that only. Everything else was perfect to the touch. I'm going to sleep like a big baby bear tonight lol. You need some sweets though. I ordered on insta cart. So I'm guessing I probably missed The full experience but next time I'm in town I'm heading in to sit. Also didn't know this was a franchise. I totally understand why. I don't need fancy looking I just need good flavored food and this deliveries!! Appreciate it. This was a great last meal from KC. I'm no Queefs fan but I bet this would be excellent for a football day. Last thing this is way better than Texas barbecue. KC is definitely 5X better

Out of confusion, I followed the instructions, just to see the 2 African American customers behind me were then asked to step forward so the supervisor could take their order. I thought blatant racism was a thing of the past, but apparently some cultures haven't realized this yet. Appalling customer service. I don't recommend anyone try this restaurant, even though the food is pretty good. The culture ruined the entire experience, and I don't wish this experience on anyone willing to PAY for it. I ordered the brisket combo with a quarter chicken leg, cheesy corn, and baked potato casserole. My partner went with the brisket sandwich. We grabbed it to go in a hurry... and forgot plastic utensils. Crisis? Maybe. Regret? None. The brisket was perfection -- tender, beautifully smoked, with bark that had just the right texture. The chicken was outstanding too: lightly sauced, deeply flavored, juicy all the way through. Every bite tasted intentional. Even eating it on the go, slightly improvised utensil situation and all, this was some of the best Kansas City BBQ we've had. Would absolutely come back -- preferably with forks next time.
