RUDE and unreliable!!! If you are planning an event DO NOT rely on Lexington Square Cafe. I reserved and scheduled the upstairs private room for a rehearsal dinner several months in advance of the April date. I also spoke with event staff several times to confirm and ask questions. The manager called me this morning (8 weeks before our event) to "let me know that we will have to find another venue". They booked an event in the downstairs dining room and decided that they could not "service" our event on the same night. The manager was very quick to dismiss me and get me off of the phone. The only explanation he gave was that the group downstairs was for 120 people and my event was smaller - only 50 guests. SO . . I guess that meant that he could afford to disappoint us because the other group was more profitable???? Outrageous!!! I will now have to quickly find another spot and start over with the arrangements. Very disappointing!!! read more

I've been to dinner at Lex three times since December, and each time has been phenomenal. The food is just outrageously good, the service is excellent, and the place is open, fun, and great. You can't go wrong with the Thai Lettuce Wrap appetizer. Or the raw oysters- best in Westchester easily. I loved the Braised Beef Enchiladas on my last visit and I've set a new standard for shrimp with the Garlic Pepper Shrimp on Sunday. Desserts are all good. Service is quick and attentive and easily identified in their all-black uniforms. The staff is competent, sexy, and friendly. Manhattan-quality. There isn't a bad table in the house. There is a beautiful mural of the Mt. Kisco village as it probably looked in the 1920s or so on one wall and an open pastry kitchen towards the center where the staff is often crafting elaborate cakes. It can be a little loud when it is crowded, which is often. Make reservations if you can get one. This is a fabulous restaurant, a real standout locally, and it is very popular so reservations can be hard to come by. But they are on OpenTable, so give it a shot. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in Westchester County!! I am so surprised to see these mixed reviews, because every time I have been to Lexington Square ( which has been many, many times) the food has been absolutely delicious! I love their menu. It is an upscale, classy twist on American food . They have great salads and wraps, and such a creative appetizer menu. The atmosphere and decor is one my favorite things about this restaurant. It's like you could be sitting in Manhattan. They have a nice, high ceilings with a beautiful, showy staircase. The wait staff is always professional, helpful and attentive. I'm always excited to come to this place because I know I'll not only have a great meal, but a pleasant dining experience! read more

Ordered take out at 8:30 PM. Asked if the food could be ready for pick up at 9:00 PM at the restaurant. Food wasn't handed to me until 9:40. The place - for a Friday night - was basically empty. I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time. I just realized that it keeps getting better. I love that they take reservations for small parties and there is never a wait for the table upon arrival. Food and service is top notch. I ate here for dinner last night, because I wanted a nice light dinner and I know that they have good seafood here. I shared the crab cakes and fried calamari for apps, they were both good. I really enjoyed the crab cakes, esp. the corn and mango salsa. I got the asiago flat bread for my main entree because I wanted something small. It was pretty good, but there was too much balsamic vinegar and not enough fig marmalade. Also the crust was kinda soggy, but overall it was decent. The other people I was with got the Parmesan encrusted sole, and a grilled branzino. Those were both really good! I think next time I would get a fish entree, since it is what they specialize in. read more

We ate outside and even though it was pouring rain it worked. They had a heat lamp. I had the onion soup and it was good and flatbread pizza made with cauliflower that was also good. The service was very respectful of our safety. A very pleasant experience. I would recommend it. read more

Roller-coaster experience...first cocktail perfect, next one strangely bad...offer to take it back - next one just as bad (like one of the ingredients had gone off) so I gave up. Delicious appetizer (shrimp dumplings), delicious salad, and pasta. Dessert - good ice cream, completely stale/freezer-burned lemon tart with a really 'off' taste. Very pleasant, helpful waitstaff. Accurate estimate of wait time for a table (we didn't have reservations on a Friday night - DON'T do that!) but if the place is jammed, it's noisy! If they relied on fresh ingredients for all of their selections, including the bar, things would have been just fine...not bad food, just some cut corners that did not pay off...for the prices, my advice is DON'T cut corners! read more

Good food, no service. My husband and I went there on a Wednesday night so not particularly busy. Our food/drinks came out quickly but after that no one checked on us. Note the food was pretty good. We sat for over an hour (with empty drinks) with no one asking how our food was or giving us an opportunity to order another drink. When another waiter finally came over we asked for the drink menu, and was again left for another 15 mins. Until a different waiter came over and asked what we were doing with the menus. We advised we had wanted to order drinks, but at this point just wanted the check. That waitress then disappeared for another 10 minutes until another waiter came over and we explained our discontentment, who then finally got us the check (and did comp the appetizer). This whole time we watched servers clean tables/clear the salt and pepper and actively avoid coming over to us. There are many other good restaurants in this area and at the price I would expect much better service. read more

Haven't been here for a long time and I'm happy to say that the food is still wonderful, the service was friendly and accommodating and the place is just fun. We shared a salad and tuna tartare as an appetizer and had Chilean bass for the entree. The tuna was perfect and the bass was light and flaky, perfectly cooked. We finished our meal sharing a decadent desert of bananas, ice cream and caramel. The only less than perfect item was the cappuccino which came lukewarm. We sent drinks back and they came back hot. Not sure if they nuked the cups or gave us new drinks. All in all, a wonderful experience. read more

One word - mediocre. Went here for dinner with the hubby...had reasonable expectations based on some chowhound reviews. It didn't really match any of them except when the bill came - that part was accurate...it's expensive for what it is. The menu has some interesting, albeit ambitious items on it, mixed in with some classics and less interesting fare. I started with a carrot ginger soup. It came in a big bowl, and was a LOT of soup. But then again, for $9, you would think they'd give me the equivalent of six cans of friggin soup, or at least throw in a unique ingredient. No, just your average carrot ginger soup. Nothing to write home about, no memorable flavor lingering. My husband ordered six oysters. When the tray came out, two of his oysters were ridiculously big. Like, steroid big. Now, I'm not one to complain about reasonable portions, especially when you are paying top dollar, but there's something kind of unappetizing about an oyster you can't fit in your mouth in one bite. Hubby had to slice the thing into about 3 pieces to eat it and by that point it had but all lost its luster and culinary pizazz. A sliced oyster looks pretty blah. For dinner, hubby stuck to a steak with mashed potatoes and spinach. Standard fare. I chose a plum glazed duck with a side of this thing they call pumpkin spietzle. I've never heard of it before, but I like pumpkin...this was a very bizarre take on pumpkin. It was kind of the equivalent of Chinese crunchy noodles that had gone to mush, and was over-sweetened with some sort of honey glaze. Don't think I would get that again. After all that we decided to share a raspberry sorbet, sort of hoping it would at the very least cleanse our palate. The bowl that arrived was enormous - like McDonald's super-size size. It was so much sorbet, and it was so sweet, we didn't quite know what to make of it. All in all, it was disappointing, and I doubt we'd be back...although I bet they do a better lunch. It seems like the kind of place that could at the very least handle a sandwich and salad kind of menu. read more

Lexington Square Café is my go-to Sunday brunch destination when visiting my dad in Armonk. I really like the menu, ambience and especially the service. Every time I go I have the French eggs a wonderful plate of smoked salmon, scrambled eggs with hollandaise and roasted potatoes. I want to call out the great service of the host and hostess team. My favorite dish at Lexington Square Cafe is the lobster cobb salad, but I actually enjoy most of what is on the menu. This has been my family's go-to place for many special celebrations as well as quiet impromptu dinners. The vibe is fun yet relaxing. I went on a week day evening which was nice because it wasn't crowded. The atmosphere is airy and warm. The staff were not overly friendly but our waitress was really personable. I ordered the filet mignone which was satisfactory however the side of brussel sprouts and potato was just average. The sangria was one of the best I've had. read more

After seeing a movie, my friend Lora and I were starving. We were looking in the Mt. Kisco area for a good meal. Lora had been here previously a few times and loved it. I decided to give it a try and we headed to the Lexington Square Cafe. When pulling into the parking lot, the building looked intriguing right away. It was an older building, but not in a bad way at all. The atmosphere inside was amazing. The place had a full, packed, bar and the restaurant was nearly full as well. We were seated quickly. The menu was outstanding. They literally had something for everyone. From steaks, to seafood, to burgers. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted! Lora quickly decided on her favorite dish there. The Ahi Tuna. I decided to go with the Sea Scallops. The prices are not cheap, but it is not super expensive either. The food was simply delicious. My scallops were cooked perfectly. The service was just as good as the food. Lora was accidentally was given mushrooms instead of the mashed she had ordered. The waitress quickly corrected the mistake. We finished with a dessert sampler that left us nothing short of feeling fully satisfied. I will be going back here again and again. If you are looking for a great moderately priced food, with a great atmosphere, swing by Lexington Square Cafe. I'm glad I did. read more

I've been going to Lex for years and out of habit I always order the exact same thing which I love. I start w/the peach ginger tea with honey and lemon. Then I go for the tuna pizza. It's absolutely yummy w/extra wasabi sauce. Then I order the chopped salad w/either shrimp or salmon. Can't go wrong w/that. Dessert is good and evil. I order the basket of berries w/whipped cream and also the double goey chocolate cake w/ice cream. Hey, gotta live a little! I definitely recommend you give this Mt. Kisco standby a try. Fish seemed like frozen which is a shame when you have it on your menu as a special and a fish market is located across the street. and all for 28?! really? and a $13 salad appetizer? service was fair. I had brought a group of over a dozen friends and family for Sunday brunch on my birthday and was terribly disappointed. I had heard great things about Lexington Square Cafe from an acquaintance. I had no qualms with the waitress or food servers who did their jobs well; the problem was with the management of the restaurant, specifically the manager. I felt like a number, my business of 14 people wasn't important to them. There were 2 other parties that day, one was a shower upstairs and another was a party with a few more people than I had that began at a later hour that day. I arrived early, not one person offered to help me set up. They set my table of 14 people in the middle of a crowded room. I kindly asked the manager if I could move to a more private area before the restaurant opened, she insisted that there was no place to put my party since EVERY other table was "reserved" in the corners of the restaurant. I have been an event planner for over 10 years and will not only avoid this restaurant with any of my future business but tell everyone I know of this experience. Food was disappointing, as others wrote, overpriced and "mediocre (that's a nice way of putting it). Service from the waitresses and food servers again was good but management just lost a lot of potential business. Advices....treat every customer with equal importance, you never know who you are talking to. Times are tough; no one can afford to lose business. read more

Horrible service. We planned to have our rehearsal dinner here in April and booked the space months ago. Earlier this week (approximately 8 weeks ahead of time), they called to cancel our reservation. We have many out of town guests coming and now need to change invitations that have already been sent out and start over to find a new venue for a large group at very short notice. They have not offered to make amends or help us out in anyway; will be telling wedding venue not to put them on their preferred list. read more

Don't bother trying to take Grandma here -- if she can't climb three sets of stairs. It would be an easy fix -- its in an urban setting and an elevator would be an easy install. This place is SO good! My parents and I come here often for dinner. It's turned into our go-to. Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful staff and even better food. I mean their food is REALLY good. They have something on the menu for everyone. We get the chicken lettuce wraps every time. I also get the French onion soup every time. It's noisy and it's overpriced, but the food is decent. I had the Halibut and it was grilled perfectly. The salad along with it was seasoned well and just a touch spicy. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here last night. It was the 4th of July and not many places were open. I started with a delicious blood orange martini. I had the pork belly tater tots, which were delicious. And I loved the lobster, bacon, lettuce tomato Cobb salad. It was delicious and beautifully presented.
