These guys have been great. I bought a new Audi S6 last year and have been going to these guys since for any issues that came up. I went to several car shops in Santa Clara for smog test. My car passed most of the tests except that there was a computer problem. The technician advised me to drive the car in the freeway for at least 200 miles. I did but the problem persisted. He asked me to drive again but the problem stayed the same. Finally the technician advised me to go to a professional mechanic to check my car. I went to Gonzalo at the Shell Gas Station in Lafayette St., Santa Clara. He told me to drive the car in the freeway with the speed of 50 miles an hour for 10 minutes. My car passed the smog tests. Which is why, even though LGB Auto moved to San Jose, which is very far from my house, I still go to see them for my car problems. read more

Friday my car started leaking coolant and I thought it was fixable with one of those fix a leak things. Saturday morning we all loaded into the car and headed out for a day of errands when we noticed the car was leaking fast now! I recalled this place being just a block away from my house and having some decent people working there. We pulled in and it was obvious that they were busy but they came right over and checked out my van anyway! They quickly diagnosed where the leak was and although they had to wait until Monday to call Ford and check on the part, the gentleman gave me a quote right away so I would know what to expect come Monday morning. They called around 11:00am Monday with the new quote (had to add in the price of the part) and I had the car to them by 12:00. It was fixed and ready by 6:00pm and they waited for me to get there so I could pick it up! The cost was reasonable and, as I was paying for it, they helped my fiance replace my third brake-light which was burnt out at no extra charge! Fast, courteous, friendly. Fixed my break pads and also AC . All these were so dead cheap . Also they found that car had a problem in Transmission CS, thank god they were able to fix it. From my experience this shop will do or say anything to cover their behinds. I am actually nervous about writing this review because I feel like this is a kind of dirty shop and they have all my information. Anyways, I took my car in to get Eibach hubcentric spacers installed on the front wheels. They called me back around closing time the same day and said they had installed the wheel studs but the spacer was incorrect for the car. I was very confused until I showed up to the shop where a guy named Rick said he was putting the spacer on wrong, behind the rotor. Brooke denied and said they weren't made for my car but he'd install them anyways. Brooke then seemingly correctly installed the front spacers on the outside of the rotor, in front of me. As he installed the first one, I checked the spacer and there was no wrong play, so I said go ahead and put them on. He torqued all the lug nuts correctly and I went home. Upon getting home that night, I tried removing my rear wheels, only to see that 3 of my lug nuts were seized. This was really weird and I brought it back to the shop the following day. The Muteki lug nuts I have may be poor quality and somehow had seized to the wheel studs but on only one side. I thought this was very strange. I don't blame the shop but this was very odd to me because I did not have problems like this before. While removing one of the lug nuts, the mechanic broke one of his tools, scratching my wheel, right in front of me. I said, "well what are we going to do about that?" The Asian guy immediately raised his voice exclaiming, "I'm not working on this car, you want to be like that? I'm taking the car down off the lift and you can go!" At this point the car only had three lug nuts, two broken wheel studs. "Someone over-torqued the lug nuts," the mechanic said as he began lowering the car off the lift. I told the guy I couldn't drive the car with 3 wheel studs and he stopped lowering the hydraulic lift. Brooke, who had installed the front wheel studs came to the rescue and the other Asian mechanic said, "you can take this one, I'm not working on this car anymore." Brooke ended up replacing the broken wheel studs and put on my old lug nuts that I was sure would not seize. This is where it gets really weird, I went to start taking off the front wheels and Brooke said, "don't do it, those are probably seized too." So, I stopped, confused and he lowered it off the lift and we talked somewhat privately outside the garage, where he told me he would only charge $100 for the labor because it takes a while to get my car up on the lift. Should I have even paid? They scratched my wheel, which I got powder coated less than 3 months ago. Anyways, rather than argue, I paid them and left. I have yet to check my front wheels but now I'm afraid I'm going to have to replace more wheel studs. At this moment in time, I have no idea what I can do if the front lug nuts are seized. Do I blame the mechanics or what? I also have a witness of the entire ordeal. If I was treated with respect, I'd never write this review. But since that jerk mechanic yelled at me and tried to send me on my way, risking further damage or injury from his own mistake; I decided to write about my experience. Brooke is an okay guy, but needs to put his partner in check. I will not be coming back unless it's for some form of compensation. This experience was a complete nightmare and the other mechanic (not Brooke) clearly did not care about my car and does not know how to treat his customers. Brooke did give me a great price on the spacers installation. As far as having to return, I don't know about the honesty of this shop. Just noticed they also swooped a pack of washers and a couple lug nuts that I let them use to put on the wheel studs. 9/6/16 read more

I've been looking for a new mechanic close to work, and it's great that I finally found one. I've been filling my car up with gas near this place, and I've gotten a good feel for the shop. It feels very organized, and I met a returning customer that brings three cars in there. My starter has been giving me troubles, so I figured the time is now. I brought the car in, went over the problems with the mechanic, and was provided a straightforward quote. It was very detailed and self-explanatory. I ended up at LGB because they are part of the Napa Auto Care network. Another shop in the network (in Rancho Cordova, near Sacramento) had really messed up an emergency repair on my 2004 Odyssey (stranded there while on vacation). Gonzalo saw what the other shop did wrong, must have spent half an hour on the phone with Napa customer service, got the repair by LGB approved (so I didn't have to pay again). They did a fantastic job. Gonzalo and his partner were wonderful. My car was ready when promised. I don't live close to LGB and have my regular Honda shop but I HIGHLY recommend LGB for any auto-repair jobs! read more

My old 94 Honda Accord got a dead battery at the Shell oil station. He kindly came out and replaced my batteries. Also I asked him about screeching sound in front wheels. He did test drive, confirmed the noise, and diagnosed the problem and it was a simple problem quickly fixable by a hand. He did it for free! I honestly think he is a very honest and professional man.
