Very very good drinks, didn't get to try to foods but I'm sure it's just as good as the drinks. Had a root beer float with butter pecan ice cream and he said it was the best root beer float he ever had. Another friend had watermelon italian soda with the same ice cream and said it was delicious. This place has gone downhill.. On my last four visits the barista was not the cool dude with the dreads. The other baristas don't seem to have the touch or enthusiasm to make exceptional coffee, it is now more of a depressed Starbucks experience (boiling hot milk, so-so foam, dump it all in a cup and charge $5). I absolutely love liberty cafe. It is such a wonderful cafe with very friendly baristas and a great atmosphere. The hemp milk lattes are wonderful for us vegans and I have even had the blessing to pick up a vegan cookie there too. I love the fact that you can have your drink made in an actual mug if you are drinking it in the cafe as a means of being environmentally-friendly. I never have particularly high expectations when I leave the city because the nyc scene is tough to beat, but I was blown away here. The ingredients were fresh/ seasonal, and the combinations were inventive and refreshing. Probably lots of talent from the culinary institute nearby ends up here. So this place had a ton of Great reviews , thought I'd try it. Ordered a roast beef panini. $12. 95 with a tip BLAH a regular shitty sandwich I could have made at home and it came plain on the plate no chips no pickle NOTHING! Not impressed won't be back! Not to mention the table I sat at was filthy. They need to clean the entire place and give you something for a $10.95 sandwich. They made a big deal about having several flavored mustards then never put any on my panini not that I could taste, I tried to order soup with my panini and she told me the person training her didn't show her how to make the soup!!!! It's soup if you don't know how to make soup maybe a cafe isn't the place for you! But I do use the word CAFE very loosely. Bottomline is the place is a dirty gross and not fit to be serving anything that would go in anyone's mouth! If they can survive selling coffee then they might stay afloat but I give them 6 months and the doors will be closed. I'm pissed I wasted $12.95 and my lunch time here. read more

My hubby and I are veeeery picky when it comes to our espresso. We have many pet names for establishments such as Starbucks, but for the sake of propriety I won't go into those here. Basically, their coffee tastes like the beans have sat at the bottom of my grandmas old purse for a few weeks, mingling with her spare change before going into my cappucino, (yet thousands with seared taste buds pound at their gates daily to throw cash at them) Such is NOT the case here at Liberty Cafe. No no no....The man Mike knows what he's doing, and he cares about how he does it... the Cafe Vita beans he uses...the gentle tamping of the grind... the water pressure and when to call the shot done...the gentle tipping of the shots into the cup...the perfectly foamed creamy milk to the creative way he does his Mocha's, with a touch of black pepper. My husband likes the straight up shots and the macchiato, because the espresso is that special while I prefer his dreamy capuccinos. It is cash only, so don't forget the green at home! Mike will remember you and always makes you feel special. After moving away from Seattle (specifically Renton), Liberty Cafe is one of the places I miss most, aside from Mt. I never thought much about Renton until recently where I'm working for a few weeks at the big airplane factory. I needed afternoon coffee, so once again I go to yelp. The Liberty Cafe is every bit as described in other reviews. It's a nice casual spot served with kindness. The dreadlocked barista pulls a nice drink with care and attention. I love this place. I have only been here a few times because I live up in Seattle. But when I do, I get the same warm, welcoming feeling. Tonight topped it off though. I went there to meet a friend I had not seen in over a year or so. We thought they were open until 9. Turns out they close at 7. We got there at 730. The wonderful, kind soul working let us in and said for you two I will keep the place open AND she did! She served us drinks and then we hung out for quite a while. Others came in and she welcomed and served them too. I felt like I was in a friend's house the entire time. This place has a special feel and need I say more the service was beyond what one could hope for or expect. Definitely go enjoy some coffee and conversation here. Wandered in today while exploring downtown Renton and I'm SO glad I did. The shop has both character and personality in such a great way! The chai AND the rooibos I got were delicious, and the owner was friendly and welcoming and a local to the core. She knew most the customers that walked in by name, INCLUDING a random firefighter that walked by and the leasing agents from the apartment complex a block away! I didn't get a chance to try the food but am very excited to do so next time I'm around, and am thrilled to be coming back to Liberty at every chance I can get. read more

Amazingly small. Hang out for golf types. Only two tables in the whole place. The rest of it is sofas. We walked in and walked out.

Stopped by here the other day and ordered a vanilla latte (surprise, surprise). The man behind the counter was extremely nice and welcoming which I loved since I was new to the area. The cafe itself seemed kind of dark and gloomy. There wasn't any background music, everyone was pretty silent. Maybe it was still too early in the morning, but the ambiance was a little off. I took my coffee to-go. As for the coffee itself, it tasted a little watered, not creamy and smooth, but definitely gave me a good caffeine kick! I definitely would return and give it another shot.
