They proceed to filling your plate or container as if a hungry farmhand were glaring at them. The quantity of servings is huge. If it didn't smell so delicious you might be tempted to say "that's enough!". After everything is piled on you arrive at the cash register where more tempting delicacies confront the limits of your appetite; deviled crab, potato balls, flan, tres leche, fruits, etc. Add a few more items for later maybe. Went in on a Sunday. The deviled crab was very dry and did not have real blue crab as they claimed. Ham croquette was also very dry. Worst ham croquette I have ever eaten. The picadillo was drowning in oil. So much oil I did not even attempt to eat it. When I brought it up to the counter help they told there was nothing they could do for me because they had already served it. Customer service was poor. When in Florida, eat Cuban food!! So, although I'm not in Miami, I decide to try this place as it's 5 mins from my hotel. So, roll up to this strip mall and what looks like a Bar with some Gaucho lookin' dudes hanging out on the Patio. Step inside and I am greeted with an olfactory overload of deliciousness. The food is served Cafeteria style, meaning that the steam trays are lined up in front of you and Oh! what a gorgeous sight! As there are no signs on the trays, I asked the young lady behind the counter what she recommended. She mentions the obligatory Cuban Sandwich (which must be a Tourist staple), but I wanted something else. I observed the huge pile of boneless Chicken breast in a kind of light sauce, so I asked for a Combo plate. Black Beans and Rice (with Pork!!), aforementioned Chicken and Fried Plaintains. The Chicken was flavorful, almost like stewed chicken. It was pounded thin, so a little bit chewy, but not tough. The Black Beans and Rice were superb,; tender rice and soft (not mushy) black beans and you could taste the pork. The Plaintains were sweet and tender, not greasy at all. Things to know: 1) The actual Menu has only a few things on it. Check the Trays on offer and just pick from those - if it looks good, get it!! 2) The interior is not at all fancy, but don't worry about that. The place is clean and the food is delicious. 3) Besides the steam trays, they also offer some other fried things that looked interesting like some kind of Crab Roll. 4) Empanadas!!!! 5) You can eat like some kind of Royalty for $5.99 and you will be stuffed! read more

And from the reviews, this place sounded like the place to lose my virginity since it's less than a mile from my place. Lots of buildup in the reviews left me saying "really?" when I opened the white wrapping. It's a ham/salami/turkey/swiss sandwich heat pressed. That's a Cuban? Not saying it was bad... hey I'm giving the place 4 stars - it was good. Just was underwhelmed by how American a Cuban is! (Or Italian arguably.) As someone who as ate here on multiple occasions it is very hard to order something o the menu that you will not enjoy. The daily special of the half Cuban and black bean soup is delicious and it's an unbeatable price! Every time I go I cannot pass up the stuffed potato ball. So I know in this area and my job is for most of this restaurant and I already found a place that I truly love but I don't want to seem like a stocker going every day so I decide to try something new and I find this place and it has four stars so I think let me keep it a chance come in get excited because they have chickpeas and I love chickpeas so I get their lunch special that is seven dollars and I get white rice cheapies and ground beef when I get to the register I pay I sit and I try my food a few times and each time it taste like metal so I go back to the register and tell the lady that it doesn't taste good and she opened the container makes this smart Alec face and says OK whatever I'll give you another plate I said I don't want another plate and she says that she cannot reimburse me because I already ate half of it so apparently have upped her plate is three small bites and she says that I need to get something so I tell her OK just give me one of the stuff potatoes that is like two dollars so I still have five more dollars but she said no that I already ate half of it so I said OK give me something else so she gives me pastry and apparently a stuffed potato and a pastry cost seven dollars so I won't be going back for sure. I love this place and have had nothing but delicious food here. The pork, rice and beans are classic never-fail dishes. I have gotten the stuffed potato a few times - eat it with hot sauce = heaven! Wow, this place is delicious. A truly authentic Latin American restaurant. I am transparently white in skin pigmentation, but good lord this place is the real deal. Hyperbole aside, the ropa vieja, picadillo and cuban are all great. They make empanadas filled with various meats and I love the black beans and onions. We stopped coming to because we felt food quality had went down. Tough Palomia sandwich, tea tastes like sewer, and dry pork. We have it another shot months later and we felt that they were back on the right track. Palomia sandwich was tender and eatable. Tea tastes like ice tea. The fries were upgraded and delicious. This place is amazing! Everything is authentic and delicious! The fried tilapia is fantastic and so is the cafe con leche.

We love this place! We went in for lunch today around 1pm and the place was full of people. The line at the cafeteria was moving fast and we were a little intimidated. The line didn't go away, so we got in line and hoped for the best (was worried we wouldn't be fast like the others and hold others up, etc). The ladies were kind and all spoke English well, so we did fine. We ended up with amazing variety of food and it was still less than $30. WOW. The most important fact is that food tasted great! Our kids really ate up. That made us love this place. I appreciate that they took some of the dishes I ordered to the back to warm it up before giving them to us. It was a lively place with constant line of people ordering food to eat in or to go. I eat here every time I visit my mom. The portions are huge, so share some or get fat. I've catered small parties with the sandwiches, empanadas and papas rellenas ( ground beef in a ball of mashed potatoes deep fried, not your low call nouveau cuisine). So I've tried this place a couple times before I decided to write review. In a scale of 1-5 I give the food a 2, but I guess for the price I can't complain or expect more. Lunch plate is $6.50. The one small piece of baked chicken tasted stale and saturated with salt and garlic, the cassava (yuka) was over cooked and mushy. Second time I tried the pulled pork which was a much bigger serving than the chicken but dry and chewy. I wouldn't even attempt to try the fish. I work in the area and we kind of make this place a last option when ordering lunch. There are a couple Latin places near by that serve way better food for around the same price. read more

Liborios is the only Latin food I will eat; I'm a picky eater. My family and I have been going to this little family owned restaurant for as long as I can remember; most of the time we end up sharing a plate because the portions are so hefty. The service is fast, the prices are low, and the flavors of the culture are strong.
