We ordered catering from here for a huge family reunion and everything was good. If I remember correctly we got the piccadillo, the baked chicken, the yellow rice, and chicken empanadas and beef empanadas. The chicken empanadas were a little dry but everything else was on point.

I love Liborios! They have a wonderful selection to choose from and it's always fresh! Their plate servings are massive and enough to feed you for two or three meals (maybe even four!). Their prices are great. I've been coming here years and anytime I'm in Tampa I always try to stop in and grab a large plate. Their yuca and roasted pork is so delicious! Their tables are always clean and so is the soda fountain area. The ladies who are behind the counter are always friendly and polite. They don't rush you through ordering either.

    Awesome meal for $12.49

A group of us stopped in to Liborios for a quick dinner before seeing a show at the Tampa Amphitheater last night. Liberios serves a variety of Puerto Rican, Cuban, and American food cafeteria style. Additionally, they have a full breakfast menu, a decent selection of hot/cold sandwiches, and offer catering. Don't let cafeteria style process chase you away; the food is fresh, delicious and the staff load you up, so there is no way to leave this place hungry. Nancy and I went with the two large combos ($12.49 each), which comes with one choice of meat and three sides. I went with the pulled pork, rice with vegetables, sweet plantains, and vegetable soup. Nancy chose the pork ribs, green beans, sweet plantains, and chicken noodle soup. All of the food was awesome, my only complaint is that my rice was a little salty for my taste, other than that, everything else was great. Our friends let us try their Picadillo and Papas Rellenas which were full of flavor and delicious. The Papas Rellenas were huge, I would have been happy to order two of these bad boys for dinner and call it a day. The soups were very good as well, they sell the soup in larger quart options too. I love the big chunks of vegetables and chicken chunks with bone still attached; definitely provides that traditional-real-deal feel. Something to take into consideration when ordering, is you get a 10% discount when you pay with cash. I've been told that Liborios is a local favorite and at lunchtime the line can go outside the door and around the building. We must have been lucky because we got here right around 4:30pm and there were only a few customers in line and several more came in behind us. There is not a lot of seating here; however, fortunately for us, most customers must have been regulars because they were taking their orders Togo. Something else I should mention is there is a bar directly to the right when you walk in. I like how management decided to keep the bar separate from the dining area, it allows families to bring their children in for dinner without mingling with the bar crowd. However, if you need to use the restroom, it is located in the bar section. The bar is quite popular and has a pool table if you are looking fit in a game or two with a friend. All-in-all, Liborios Latin Café has a great thing going and I look forward to coming back to try some more of their food in the future. If you happen to be in the area or live in Tampa and have never been here before, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Stopped here recently for lunch. It looked good and got good reviews here on Yelp. Let me say we were not disappointed. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style. You start out with picking a rice and then your sides and then a protein. I decided on spainish rice with sweet plantains and a garbanzo bean soup with the fried fish. Everything I got was good. Next time I would probably switch out the garbanzo bean soup. There were so many options certainly something for everyone. I also added a tamale. It was good but I would probably hold off on getting that again. The wife got a Cuban Sandwich. That was very good. The dining room is spacious and they had additional seating outside. I also saw a bar area which I would assume is open on the weekends. The service was good and prompt but limited if you don't know Spanish. We will totally be back.

We stopped by for lunch and were impressed with how many options were available to us at this cafe. They have cafeteria style service where you can choose your dish with sides or get a sandwich. I decided to get a Cuban sandwich. It was one of the best ones I've ever had. I got a large one, so I would have leftovers. The bread was pressed how I prefer with it not toasted too much. I don't want the roof of my mouth to be injured from eating a sandwich. This one was perfect. The outside of the bread was lightly toasted, but the inside was still soft. The meats were plentiful and I can't wait to go back again soon.

    Dennis D.

Great cafeteria style set up. Price point is good and the selection is big. Service is easy since it's just counter service. The food is very good too. This is a great spot for a grab and go.

As a Tampa Native, what is this? Because it definitely isn't a Cuban. The most mediocre and overpriced Latin restaurant I've been to in a while. Never again.

First they don't finish the sandwich before sending it and when I sent it back to be fixed how I ORDERED it this is what came back $10-$12ok

I really hope that the same junkie service ya give on Causeway doesn't come to Riverview your staff is the worst have nasty and rude for no reason and the food is not good at all specially if you can't get the concept of a simple BLT (Bacon, Lettuce and tomatoes) sandwich you shouldn't be in a kitchen. Riverview can do way better than this so I really hope is a different owner different staff and different "Chef" or just don't open at all.

    Linet G.

There's plenty of options at this place, the food is good but the Flavor just needs a little more sazón like us Cubans do. The amount of food they serve can probably feed two people. Great price for all the food you get. Went back twice to eat here because it's just that good and affordable.

Still run by descendants of the founder. We had a Saturday 7pm reservation and the place was packed (seats around 1,700 people, per our server), but we were seated only 5-6 minutes late and service never felt strained despite the crowd. Started with warm, authentic Cuban bread and butter, then split the Original "1905" Salad -- tossed and served tableside, with Romano cheese, garlic dressing, ham, tomatoes, lettuce, and Swiss cheese. It's basically an entree on its own. The empanadas were also excellent: light crust, extremely flavorful filling, juices running with every bite. For my entree I had the Red Snapper "Adelita" -- grilled, topped with hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, served over their signature yellow rice. Perfectly cooked fish, very flavorful toppings. For dessert, we compared the key lime pie against the white chocolate bread pudding. The pie was well-made -- perfect texture, perfect graham cracker crust, light raspberry sauce -- but a touch light on the tart key lime punch I look for. The bread pudding was the better dish: rich, decadent, excellent. Finished with proper Cuban espresso. The menu here is enormous -- expect to need multiple visits to make a dent in it. Everything we tried was excellent. Highly recommend, but book ahead on weekends; even with 1,700 seats, this place fills up.

We were told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait, but it was hardly a 20 minute wait. The ambiance of the place is so homey, and the staff is generally pleasant. First of all, do not underestimate the BREAD. It is probably, hands down, the best baguette bread I have had in the US. We had croquette and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. They were good. For my main course, I had the mahi mahi varadero and it was really good. It came with crab and Spanish rice, and was breaded with crispy plantains. It was good, although I generally don't like Spanish rice. HOWEVER, if I had to recommend a dish, it would be the mahi-mahi cayo-Hueso. It was marinated with citrus flavors and it was divine. Now I don't know who in our party ordered the fries, but they were amazing and felt as good as home fries. Now to the dessert, we ordered almost one of each and it was some of the best dessert I have had in my life -not too sweet, made well, and with real ingredients. I would have ordered my own cafe con leche but it was too late for me in the day but man did I wish I could have had my own cup instead os stolen sips. A record would not be complete without aknowledging the staff. Our waiter was Alfredo and he was such a nice, sweet, and accommodating waiter. He was also patient with such a large party. Thank you, Alfredo!

Skipped the sit-down cafeteria side and grabbed the counter seating instead, which had a fun bar-style setup. Service was fast -- they got our water order in immediately, and we followed up with a large café con leche. Plenty of coffee for the price, though the red plastic cup was a letdown compared to a proper mug. Food came out in under five minutes, which is impressive for how good it was. I got the Milanesa -- a breaded steak in red sauce -- with yellow rice and black beans on the side, and it was excellent for the price. My wife had the Ropa Vieja with yucca and Moros rice, and it didn't disappoint: tender, soft beef with rich tomato sauce and just a hint of olive coming through. We also added a side of tostones with their garlic sauce, which were absolutely delicious. For a quick stop before the mall, this exceeded expectations -- great flavor, fast service, and solid prices. Would go back even without the mall as an excuse.

My wife should have added 'bring them together' but she didn't and the server didn't bother to ask so the empanadas came out and everything else came out 15 minutes later. My wife had a cocktail and the bill was $60.20. Issues to fix: 1)I ordered a Coca Cola, $4.00 and in 92 degree weather it melts in 5 minutes. We were there for an hour and not one time did she ask if I'd like a refill. 2)When she made the 1905 table side she literally 'dropped' a handful of salad ON THE FLOOR between my wife's and my seat......she kind of chuckled, gave us our salads and walked away. She literally left the SALAD ON THE FLOOR THE ENTIRE MEAL! During the course of our meal probably 20 employees walked by and never bothered to pick it up. That in itself was the epitome of laziness and complete lack of respect to the customer. Our bill was $60.20 and I tipped $12 which normally I'm a 30% tipper and I could kick myself for giving her 20%. She deserved zero. Again this one needed a sauce for dipping. Shrimp "Al Ajillo" - this is a must and the oil garlic mix is perfect for dipping you toasted bread.
