Excellent Italian food!!! They used FRESH dough to make the pizza & EVEN the pasta is made straight from the fresh dough too!!! Their breads for Italian Meatball Sandwichs are also from fresh dough, that when it came freshly out of the oven, the bread is crispy on the outside & soft & fluffy on the inside (enough to compete with the French style Baguette or the Artisan Style Sourdough)! Multiple toppings for the pizza to choose from! I would do like a Combo Style (mixture of meats & veggies & fancy cheeses) for the pizza. If you are a local living nearby Lido's, you may even received them Coupon Calendars, which I do recommend! Restaurant environment is warm & elegant. More like the rival Buca Di Beppo. But Lido's is private entity whereas Buca is a Franchise. Of course, in my personal opinion any Private Entity is way better than Franchise. Parking can be an issue though, especially during Rush Hour where the Victory/Sepulveda intersection can get packed. Do be careful with the driving; there are a lot of dangerous aggressive drivers present during Rush Hour at the Victory Sepulveda intersection, especially when you exit the Lido's restaurant. So do drive carefully. Overall, Lido's is a great restaurant & I would definitely come back for more in the near future! read more

I've been going to Lidos Pizza since the day I was born 1982. They have amazing pizza and pasta. This is my go to pizza place when i'm in the valley. So I'm from Chicago, and always seem to struggle finding places that make the pizza I like. I have to say Lido's has officially become my favorite place to get pizza from in California. You can definitely taste that they make every dish with love and care. Everything is so fresh including all the pasta that is handmade. I really enjoyed their pepperoni pizza with onions and sweet basil. There was so much flavor and the pepperoni was a nice level of spicy. I also love their fettuccine alfredo. They don't take reservations unfortunately, but it's a great intimate little restaurant and nice to go for date nights. read more

I always look up the negative reviews just in case...there were not to many but let me just say how wrong they were... the pizza so stacked and sooooo delectable that we finished the pizza. My family and I eat here religiously, as this is my daughter's favorite restaurant. We've had a variety of pastas (e.g. fettuccine, spaghetti, cannelloni, ravioli) and nothing has been short of delicious. The sourdough rolls are always fresh, warm, and crispy. Their pizzas are amazing, with generous amounts of toppings. Soups and salads are equally satisfying and yummy, though I admitedly eat those less often The service is also pretty good, they'll refill your drinks and even bring you more bread before you request them. Don't waste your time let alone money coming here. Service is so poor they always make you feel as if you're not paying the meal which mind you is expensive for the taste being bland and the person taking your order if it's a female won't even let you get a word in just to speed up the phone order process. The whole customer service ruins more the food itself which as i mentioned is not great to begin with. Stopped here for lunch while on my way to pick up my daughter from school. Had a salad and a couple of slices of pie and packed the rest to go for her. Very cool, old school, vibe when you walk in. Place was packed with people both waiting for tables and ordering take out. My waiter was on top of it and service was swift. I was probably in and out within 20 minutes. The food and service is always on point! The pizza (cheese) is great and the dough is perfect. We love coming here and have been coming here for over 20 years. The staff is always very attentive. On our most recent visit David was our waiter and as I said the service is great. This is a local gem and they have a fantastic Monday night special, that you have to come see for yourself. All I can say is bring your appetites and enjoy the food. The cooks in the kitchen are great and you can even look through the an outdoor window and see the pizzas being made. I came in on a Wednesday evening with my boyfriend and the place was packkkked. And I really don't know why. I came here a few years ago and I wasn't a fan but decided to give it a second chance. My boyfriend likes the anchovy pizza here so thats what he had and I had pepperoni and sausage on my half. The cheese was very creamy, almost soupy which grossed me out (and I LOVE cheese) and it came over the toppings. I forgot they did this from my first visit. I didn't like that upside down pizza concept. The pizza also had more sausage than dough I think. I wish I would have taken a picture. I had the antipasto salad to start which was good, so was the garlic bread. Boyfriend had the meatballs, I tried and they were okay. He seemed to like them. The wine was garbage. We were sat in the last booth at the very back of the restaurant near the restrooms and the back door. It was 60 degrees that night and windy. People were coming in and out from that door and it didn't close on its own. I got up 3 times to close it during our meal, and my boyfriend another 3 times. The majority of the time it was the employees who were going in and out from it and not shutting it behind them. This was extremely annoying. A co-worker recommended this place and I was open as this place seems like a favorite in the Valley. She had been here before so she recommend the Southern Italian platter which gave you a bit of meat ravioli, lasagna, and meat sauce with rigatoni. All of my favorite types of pasta. Rolls of sourdough bread are also brought to the table. I also ordered a glass of white wine which came with a very generous pour. The glass was about halfway filled, but no complaints from me. The ravioli and pasta definitely tasted homemade and the portion sizes were pretty big. I have never met a lasagna I didn't like so I was very happy with that portion. Before I got the platter, I ordered an appetizer size of the antipasto salad. It was sooo good and came with garbanzo beans that I wasn't ecstatic about, but still good nevertheless. The mozzarella tasted fresh and the dressing had already been tossed in the salad so make sure you tell them you want it on the side if you'd like to pour it yourself. The pricing wasn't bad at all for the amount of food you get. Parking is available in the back and front but the lots are pretty small. There was plenty of street parking around 6 pm on a Friday but it got more crowded later in the evening. read more

The best part was the staff and the food. The worst part was the lack of proper air conditioning. These good people working in this heat with extremely minimal cool air is inhumane! Let alone the conditions for dining in are bad too but not nearly as bad for the staff. These people are the lifeblood of this restaurant. I'm a fan of sloppy loaded pizza, so the pizza with bell peppers and mushrooms was delicious. The red wine we got was cheap and tasted so but it's a Van Nuys pizza place so whatever. The atmosphere is old school with holes in the ceiling and friendly staff. Will definitely go back for the sloppy za. The pasta was also very good. The meatballs are huge, almost baseball size, so don't get more than four or you'll have more meat than you know what to do with. read more

I am so unhappy with yesterday's (9/23/18) take out order!!! Upon opening our pizza box our order ticket was on our pizza as if it was trash. How can anyone be so careless? Jay-zus! This pizza is soooooo good. I mean, like really, really good. Love the old school vibe in the restaurant. Think: red leather booths, dark lighting, friendly wait staff. Mix that with the incredibly delicious pizza, and we have a winner! This is my favorite pizza in LA. This place takes "hole in the wall" to a whole new level- they have a counter part in the ChiChis chain seen in Northridge but this Van Nuys location is a hidden, lesser known gem- they do pizza and pasta the right way- the Italian way. Food: They have THE BEST and most fresh pasta, the perfectly al dente, most delicious little springs (or shells or rigatoni) of pasta there ever was or ever will be (in LA). You get to choose between meat sauce and meatless (I recommend asking for it in the side). Also, there's nothing pointedly "special" about their side salad but sometimes i go there just for a large salad with Italian dressing- extra everything: garbanzo, peperoncino, tomato and onion... oh and their signature SOURDOUGH bread rolls, they come out hot and ready to be eaten in 3 seconds flat- pro tip: dip in the Italian dressing. You'll thank me later. Service: Come here enough and you'll know everyone, and they'll know you. I haven't needed a menu here in years but the staff is always friendly and quick to bring out the grub to be immediately devoured.
