The pizza is ok. I got a medium plain cheese to go and while it was feeling with lots of cheese, it's definitely a pizza that is best eaten right away. Reheating the next day was no bueno. Also, it's quite pricey here. Service was quick and friendly. read more

Honestly, I've tried a dozen different places for their fettuccine Alfredo. It's my go-to all time favorite pasta dish. This place hands DOWN had the best fettuccine I've ever had. It was so flavorful, creamy, and delicious! I got the lunch portion and the it came with 2 warm soft sourdough bread balls that I had with some butter. The lunch portion was the perfect size for one person and at a decent price of $12.99. I would definitely recommend this place and will be taking trips down here more often to eat this dish!!!!!!! read more

Love the food, not the critters After I was done eating, I noticed something crawling on the table. I had to trap a bug under my plate. It was really gross. I let the waiter know that he couldn't pick up the plate while I was sitting there or else the bug would escape. We like to start with the antipasto salad. The ingredients are quality and fresh and the cheese is so light and creamy--it looks like they extrude it like you would pasta dough to make spaghetti. There is nothing like fresh made pasta, and Lido's has it! Our go to is classic spaghetti with meat sauce and there is nothing like it. The sauce is not heavy, at all in the way some meat sauces can be, the tomatoes are bright and fresh and the combination of pasta and sauce won't disappoint. This is by far the best pizza in Los Angeles, period. A few years back I did a Pizza Quest of the city. I was looking for a pizza that tasted like an old Sicilian restaurant I grew up going to on the east coast. I tried them all, every place that the LA Weekly, LA Times, EaterLA said were the best. There were some good ones, some meh ones, and some totally overhyped ones (Vito's). Lido was far ahead of all of them in flavor, quality, and consistency. My favorite is the Lido Special with extra cheese. And when they say extra cheese, they mean it. The pastas are all amazing and the salads are too. Used to be the spot to go for good food and the great environment but they are not the same anymore. It's not busy, a lot of tables open and the workers are talking amongst themselves while there are tickets (trash) on the floor. Right in front of their eyes... it's disgusting. We are waiting to be seated so I used the bathroom. I can't believe that the bathroom is in the condition it is in while the workers are just standing there talking. Trash is overflowing so there's trash all over the floor, no seats covers, no toilet paper where it belongs and overall just a disgusting place. Me and my wife and our two kids, one and 3 1/2 came here in a Saturday night on the early side. We loved that it felt old-school in decor and design but we-lol tended and clean. We had the antipasti salad, and a large deluxe pizza. The food was great. Good-sized portions of delicious, unpretentious old-school Italian-American food. The salad was punchy and vinegary with plenty of cold cuts and olives on it. The pizza was a whopper with all the fixings and a great, simple, old-school crust on it. For my son, who is a particular eater, we ordered him some Mac and cheese. It came out and was clearly your basic from-a-box goodness. Which, while not fancy, it encountered no resistance and he ate a large portion of it, so, win. Sometimes the peace is more important than being fancy. When we received the check, it had the brand of the box mac on it. I appreciate the honesty and lack of judgment that this showed. Made us feel very welcome and seen. The service was great all around. The woman who waited on our table was sweet and good with the kids. We left feeling like a million bucks after a successful meal out with the kids, in no small part because of how Lido made itself so family-friendly. read more

A friend recommended me to this restaurant, which is has been there for over 50 years, and they did not fail to impress me for the two hours I dined. The service was excellent as was the food. The prices have not gone skyrocket since Covid like so many other places. They have draft beer and bottled beer and a wonderful sense of what you need as a customer. There was just one brief moment that I thought that maybe I shouldn't go because of some of the peoples negative Reviews those people are incorrect in every way. They should be embarrassed especially the person that wrote that they have been going to this restaurant for 30 years and had one bad night. Shame on them for giving this restaurant. A bad review. I wanted to love this place. Had it bookmarked but it just wasn't hitting the spot pizza wise. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese for pick up. 23 bucks. A bit outrageous but no worries. Here's my issue: there LITERALLY was no pizza sauce on the entire pizza. It seemed as if there were remnants of the sauce towards the crust part but it was legit void of pizza sauce. So much so that we went to the fridge to randomly grab some to some how make this cheese bread pizza. Also, like one other yelped said, the cheese just slide off the pizza. With nothing holding it together it made for a sad piece of soggy bread. Truly disappointed. The pepperoni had a very strong hot dog taste. It was just a disappointment after all the rave reviews. If I we're to ever go back again I would for sure stick to the pasta as reviewers state it's worth it. Or the eggplant parm which is what I probably should of got. Oh well. read more

Beware of eating here! This place lacks cleanliness! I honestly am not happy to write this review. I love supporting small, hole in the wall restaurants, since they usually have the best food. But this Saturday, I drew the line. There was HAIR in OUR food. When I told the waiter, he took the plate away and said he would be right back. He was gone for another 15+ minutes without swinging by our table to apologize, or anything else. It was LONG BLONDE hairs, and they were not just sitting on top, IT WAS DEEP IN THE PASTA DISH. It was absolutely disgusting, that my stomach turned. He finally comes back and tries telling me he was trying to see where it came from, but that maybe the hairs were from the booth. WHAT?! Why on Earth would he walk off, to try and figure out where it came from. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMER FIRST, then figure that out later! CLEAN better! He did apologize but made it seem like it was not a big deal. They charged me for everything else. Honestly, I would have comped the meal... hair in food is just unacceptable. Lido has one of the absolute best pizzas in Los Angeles! Today our office came for a lunch and I ordered the Lido Special with a pesto base instead of the normal tomato sauce. The special comes with sausage, peppers, and mushrooms. This. Pizza. Is. Da. Bomb. Dot. Com. LOADED with cheese, ooey oogeey stretchy cheesy goodness. The pesto isn't salty at all, they don't skimp on it, and it's pretty darn good! Mushrooms and peppers are loaded on, fresh, and tasty. The sausage, wow this is some great sausage, not that fast-food-papa jonhs crap sausage, this is real deal Italian mom and pop shop pizza parlor sausage!
