Service here isn't great. Food is just ok. It's a really cute place with a lot of potential. Left a little confused at why we were handed this bill with a credit card fee before we ever told her how we were going to pay... Not a lot of great options in this area, this is definitely one of the better ones. Please start cleaning. Walked in and noticed how dirty the floors were. Not just from the day dirty but, it hadn't had a good cleaning in awhile. Gum that had turn black stuck to the floor Sat down to the"cleaned" table. It was gross and sticky didn't want to touch it Food came went to use the salt and pepper shakers. Gross gross gross. From the glass container to the tops that haven't been cleaned in months. Food that had gotten in the top had turn black and sticky Seriously dump out the contents and throw them in the dishwasher. Decent food and service, but the parking can be a little tough. Even though they have their own parking lot, the customers from the next door restaurant are taking up all the parking. Even with the posted signs and the possibility of getting towed, they still park there. Why post signs if you're not going to enforce them. We've tried to eat here before, but there was no parking. Street parking is taken up by residents and/or employees of either restaurant. The restaurant is clean, both indoor and outdoor dining areas. But we often have to eat elsewhere due to the lack of available parking. read more

Stopped here for breakfast after our cruise. My oh my what a fantastic surprise. We were a party of seven welcomed with a smile and by far one of the most delicious breakfasts we had ever had. We had everything from breakfast burritos to omelets to pancakes and everything was fantastic. Service was great and we all are still talking about it 36 hours later. read more

Came here on a whim as we drove down from LA for another diner which was closed. Ordered the grilled Cheese breakfast sandwich and asked for extra crispy bacon. Bacon was not fully cooked, some shredded cheese was on half the sandwich not melted, some avocado tossed in the other side of the sandwich. Nothing about this was grilled cheese, there was no melted cheese at all. Breakfast potatoes were hard and undercooked as well. The person who took our drink order was super nice but our actual server barely said a word to us at all. I've sent back food maybe 5 times in my life (as a former server I hate doing it) but I couldn't eat raw bacon. :( read more

5 stars for how the servers supported a customer in need! Bike mishap (not crash) that required some well needed regrouping and time to gather myself. A dad came in with his 2 kids and seated in the booth next to us. Dad had zero regard for other people. He was more focused on his beer. Kids bouncing incessantly, screeching and reaching over the booth, screaming (and almost smacking my husband numerous times) with zero concern or attention to anyone around them. We were not the only table or servers taking notice of the total lack of concern for the kids acting like the booth is their own personal romper room. I however was still in significant pain and just needed a moment to gather myself. Thank-you to the entire team for helping me and especially for the lovely lady who apologized on behalf of inconsiderate table. Kudos to the lighthouse cafe team! We WILL be back and hope others with unruly children are more considerate of others. If you can't control your childreN, PLEASE or stay home. Ahh, another fantastic experience at the lighthouse. I love the eggs florentine with hollandais sauce Yummy. BIG NEWS they are serving dinner till 8 pm Tuesday thru Saturday, So if your not in the mood to cook tonight head down to the Lighthouse, there's a nice crowd of locals enjoying one of the dozen or so hand picked wines and a nice dinner. So glad it was remodeled and opened up. Now, San Pedrans have a choice and don't have to just go to that "other place" right next door. Enjoy the ambience and serves much more at Lighthouse. Food is good! A nice variety and if lucky, steak specials :-) Slowly working my way through the menu. Also, their beer selection is pretty good for stuff on tap. Always feel welcome when l go to this restaurant. Service is top notch and the menu is full of delicious choice's. It's blocks from the beach and if it's a warm day you can eat outdoors or they may decide to open their garage door size window and the whole restaurant gets the feel of the beautiful California climate. Unless you count the two slivers I found digging through it. Pinto beans are good. The cheese had a weird fake taste. Maybe it was that non-clumping agent you find in pre-shredded cheese. One star *huevos rancheros. Yolks we're hardboiled when we asked for over-easy eggs. Mediocre sauce. The only edible items were the hash browns which were golden brown, but for $50.00 plus for three plates, I just can't justify returning for good hash browns and toast. read more

The updated cafe is very clean, sleek and modern looking. There is a sliding glass garage door which is usually open to make you feel partly outdoors. The menu has a wide variety of tasty options. Today was my first time eating here. My group sat outside since it was a beautiful day. We had a great server and was served fairly quick. When our food arrived, we couldn't believe how generous the portions were. We were so hungry and could only eat half of what we ordered. The burgers were stacked so high and we had a huge pile of fries and onion rings. I will definitely be coming back next time we're on San Pedro. Another unexpected gem. This little cafe is clean, bright and has a great feel to it. It has some modern necessities such as USB charge ports at the table. Eat inside or out. The service is very good, greeted happily entering and exiting. Just very friendly. The food is fresh and tasty. I had the Breakfast grilled cheese and my daughter had the avocado toast. The grilled cheese was amazing, although I asked for no Sriracha and it came with it anyway. My fear was too much sriracha but this was perfect. Hot and fresh and so much better than I expected. The Avocado toast was also delicious and enough for a meal. The prices are reasonable and you can pay from your phone-contactless. If I'm even close to this area again I'll be back. read more

Came and tried this place for the first time since they renovated. It is definitely upgraded a lot since I first tried it. The restaurant is a lot nicer looking and modernized from previous. The reason for 3 stars is one the waitress is kinda clueless we asked what type of teas are available and she said theres a lot and she would have to bring out the selection. There were 4 types. Green, black, English breakfast and orange. I can remember them it's not that hard. Secondly my friend asked for his sandwich to not have turkey and to sub burger patty came with turkey and burger patty also had to keep reiterating our orders because she kept getting them confused. The came out and it was pretty good except the hash browns didn't have any seasoning not the biggest deal but definitely needed to add salt and pepper to it . For the past 14 years, the Lighthouse Café has been one of our favorite spots for breakfast and lunch. We planned our day around going for breakfast to try out the "new and improved" spot. I'm giving it 1 star for the remodel and ambience but after no one approached us at our table, we left after 20 minutes. We did tell the bus boy, who was working extremely hard, that we would like to order but no one ever came to our table. We will definitely try it again, perhaps it's all the newness of everything. Although I did notice the wait staff doing a lot of talking to each other and one of them never seemed to leave the counter area. Also, two people that came in after us had their order taken and we sat another 10 minutes before we decided to leave. Disappointing, but we will give it another go. read more

I used to ride my bike here as a kid... probably been coming here for 20 years but not in the past 10 or so... I will start with the good: - renovations look great! - food was great!! Now the not-so-good: - it was pretty empty and took a while to get acknowledged. - waitress forgot to refill drinks numerous times (and it still wasn't busy). I fully understand if it is busy but with 3 waitresses and an open format, no excuse. - flies are EVERYWHERE! It's crazy because I thought it was just me but looking at other reviews, it's bad! Final thoughts: I would come back but after some time... wait staff needs to be a bit more attentive and not sure if it's just the location but the fly issue is pretty gross. Spent most of the time swatting the flies away rather than eating. A different waitress noticed the drinks being empty and offered to get more, which is a huge plus and probably shows her experience as a waitress. read more
