I was very excited to revisit one of my favorite spots after being closed for so long... the remodel looks wonderful! sadly, we were very disappointed: both in the food and the service. my friend and I came in to get food to-go and it took an incredibly long time to get acknowledged. A man, who looked like maybe an owner or manager, just looked at us after sitting at the bar for 5 min ,and walked in another direction. After some time, we finally placed our order, we sat at an outdoor table and waited for over 40 minutes. We went inside to find out what the hold up was (the restaurant was not even at capacity), and our food was just sitting on the line, and not even packaged to-go. Had to wait even longer for someone to put them in boxes, and when we got home so many things were missing. Hoping this is just a reopening hiccup and would like to give them another try... maybe in a couple months when they have time to work out their kinks and maybe hire some more seasoned servers. read more

Your typical diner as far as food, not mind blowing but also not terrible. But more importantly the amount of flys this place has is disgusting. I went twice to give it the benefit of the doubt because the first time was a very hot day thinking that could be the cause. The second time just as bad if not worse. In fact, your table has portable fans in order to prevent them from landing on your food. Will not be returning. Place has potential but clean it up! Also might want to reconsider the location of your chalkboard mixed with the fans for flys causing dust/chalk to get all over the tables and chairs next to it. read more

Great food and really friendly staff. My husband and I go here for breakfast at least once a week. We can walk here, and they'll bring a water for our dogs if we sit outside. The food is delicious (I love the grilled cheese breakfast sandwich!) and it's always delivered with a smile. This place has really stepped it up! The breakfast dishes are really good, service great and open atmosphere awesome. There are very few San Pedro cafes that I'd recommend eating breakfast at but this one won't disappoint you. Even the coffee is good! read more

Undoubtedly the worst service I've ever had and seriously, it was pretty marginal on every visit over the last 9yrs But today was the nail in the coffin so to speak. NEVER. AGAIN. One other 2 top outside and 2 tables inside plus our party of 4. For 8:30 on a Saturday in a breakfast town- not busy. (Upon reflection that should have been a sign). Waitress took 10-15min to come take drink order. Then another 10 for drinks. We had to fetch our own menus from another table so at least we were ready to place our orders. Nothing complicated but she returned after another 10+ to ask if she missed an order. Yeah, it's right on top of the list, first order that was given. Duh. Ok, more waiting. More waiting. Still not busy. Finally 2 orders come out, the french toast needed syrup and the other was given hashbrowns instead of the requested fruit. Order #3 arrives, we ask for syrup and fruit at which point the waitress asks if potatoes would be preferred. UH, like that's not even close to fruit lady but whatever. More waiting, order#4 shows and it's wrong- skillet with scrambled eggs no bellpepper. Can you see where this is going? Back it goes and the cook just chopped up and mixed in the sunnyside up eggs. Nice try, dude. Back it goes again to be remade, still wrong (bellpeppers). What a shitshow. Waitress threw the kitchen runner under the bus and blamed him. A discount should have been given as a mea culpa but instead we will NEVER darken their door again. read more

My husband and I had been wanting to try this place for a long time so we decided to go yesterday afternoon. The place is nice and airy, with tall ceilings and a large garage door they open to bring the outside in--very nice, beachy feel. We sat down in one of the cozy booths. There were only 2 others in the restaurant, but given the hour (@3:30 p.m.) that wasn't surprising. The server came over and brought us menus and took our drink order. She was pleasant and all felt good. After a bit (not too long) she came over and took our order. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos and my husband ordered the Lighthouse Cheeseburger. After a good wait, about 25 minutes, of watching the two servers busy themselves with prep work for the dinner crowd, our food was brought out to us. The tacos looked appetizing, but when I went to have one, I noticed the flour tortilla was hard as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. I specifically went with flour tortillas vs corn tortillas because they tend to be softer, not this time. Needless to say, I really dislike hard tortillas unless they are intended to be that way (ie. fried), these weren't. The Mahi Mahi in the tacos was dry and tasteless. The best part was the green salsa and the veggies in the tacos. As I mentioned, my husband had the lighthouse burger. He said it was just okay given it was barely lukewarm. I'm guessing the food was prepared some time ago, but sat under a heat lamp for a long time. After we finished our food, the server came back and picked up our plates and said she would be right back with our check--by this time we were ready to go. After several minutes of waiting for the check, I noticed that she was chatting with the cook so I got up and went over and asked for the check, which she then brought over. I really, really wanted to like this place, but it seems our server's priorities weren't focused on our experience but more so on readying for the dinner hour customers and not ensuring our food was served as quickly as possible after the cook prepared it, especially since we were about the only customers in the place by this time, which would have probably meant my tortillas would not be dry and my husband's burger and fries would be hot. We would have also appreciated not having to chase her down for the check when she said she would be right back with it. Also when the check was brought to us, we were informed they they charge 3% for using a credit card and that we could avoid the fee by paying cash or with a debit card. Given the meh experience, this just added insult to injury. I paid with a debit card. Unfortunately, given our blah experience there isn't much of a desire to go back. Hope you have a better experience than we did--and take cash or debit card if you don't want to be taxed 3% for using a credit card. read more

I hate to write a negative review but I'm hoping the owner monitors Yelp and it might help her make improvements. We have visited 6 times because the food is pretty good. The problem is the time it takes to receive our food. The waitstaff is very friendly but seems a bit disorganized. We have sat most visits and have waited long periods of time to have our order taken. We then wait to just get our drinks. We haven't once in 6 times had our meals brought together so someone is without their order while the other person's meal gets cold while politely waiting. We have also noticed a few times other patrons that came in way after us receiving their meals before us. It seems like there may be a glitch with their computer ordering system or the cooks aren't cooking them in the order received? Hard to tell. My husband likes to order a Diet Coke but the first time it was flat and the server said they didn't know how to turn the carbonation on. He tried again the next visit, still flat. He gave up and now just gets water. We really love the location, decor, food and the friendly staff. Hoping to see an improvement in the slow order taking and the timely distribution of the food. We are going to give it a few months and try one more time. Hope springs eternal read more
