Lil Nick's Pizza was a pleasant surprise. It's menu is Italian with lots of pizza and calzones. This review is only based on one dining experience, but it was good. Poor service. My experience, 1/26/22 called in a pick up. Ordered a pizza , kind of expensive $28. I had been wanting to try their pizza. The female who answered, told me it would be ready in 25 minutes. I went in 30 minutes later to pick up my order, and the female worker was talking and laughing with some customers in the other room, she was aware I was standing there. Cozy local restaurant/bar with over 40 years of history. The pizza's are great, the family crust recipe is awesome. There's also a Gluten-Free crust option as well. Sadly the quality seems to be slipping here. Went in last Sunday and ordered a salad and a Pizza under the "Buy an 18" and get a free small" special. The 18" was pepperoni and tasted, well, flavorless. The smaller Cheese seemed to have a zestier taste and actually was the one I preferred. The worst were the salads that were served with browned lettuce leaves. It seems the style of this salad has changed also, from a strictly Italian salad which I liked (mostly lettuce and black olives) to more of a generic mix with olives. Either way, I was not impressed. Can this be the same Nick's I first discovered or is this a one-time fluke? I suppose I'll give them one more chance. BTW, you should not have one girl trying to take orders, run the register, and assemble to-go orders during dinner rush. Sadly, I must drop this review down to a 3. Hopefully they improve. Being new to the area, we were on the look out from a new Pizza place. Upon finding out that they do no deliver , we stopped by after wok one day to try it out. This place has a feeling of family and friends.. a lot of people knew each other and there was familiarity between the staff and customers. It is a small location, with just a handful of tables and a very small bar to sit at as well. Service was good, we were well taken care of... not really slow, but more relaxed would be my opinion of the speed. I wasn't really in a rush, so we just wanted a nice a relaxing dinner. Had some garlic bread with cheese... amazing... had a 10" pizza that had peperoni, sausage, ham and ground beef... and it was just the way i like my pizza... thinner crust... yummy. We both enjoyed our dinner, I posted some pics of our pizza and bread on my FB, and my sister back home said it looks so good that we better take her there when she comes for vacation... Been around for long long time. Still around because of good atmosphere and good food. Has all the standards you expect from an Italian restaurant. Done well, with so much more flavor than those chain restaurants. Try the minestrone soup. You won't be sorry. read more

Well this was disappointing. Brought our friend out for her birthday and she chose lil' Nick's. We show up and have to wait outside, no big deal, we start drink orders see Blue Moon on the menu so I order waitress said no orange or orange juice. Than comes back and said no beer (They're fading it out). So I get water. Than they were out of Alfredo. Really an Italian restaurant out of ALFREDO. So then the birthday girl asked if they were doing the 1/2 price pizza monday(like it said on there app.) And she comes back with they haven't done that since Jan.. Maybe it will be back next month. So for me this was a total bust for dinner. Would not recommend this place. There are so many other pizza joints in this town that will stand up for their world. Not lil' Nick's. read more

Have taken the family here twice on weeknights. Always order pizza and my husband says it's one of the best he's had in the area. I think it's pretty good, too. Ordered 1/2 the pizza without anything spicy for the daughters. Waitress told us while it was in the oven that they'd realized they made the whole pie with spicy ingredients and already put a small specialty pizza in the oven for the girls (complimentary of course). More to take home for leftovers! Our only complaint is that sodas are expensive and they don't offer pitchers of soda. So, now we know to get water. Mondays are 1/2 price pizzas, btw. What a wonderful discovery! I was tooling around on Labor Day trying to find a local joint that was open (I don't do chains) and found Lil Nick's - given it's very humble exterior, I knew it had to rely on its good food. I asked if they had a wood fired grill - nope. Fresh basil? Nope. That started to turn me off. But then it came. Best pizza I can remember in years. Had the 14" with only mozzarella spinach sun-dried tomatoes and fresh garlic. SO good. SO hot I burned my tongue because couldn't wait for it to cool off. Bad vibe from the very beginning as the hostess was unfriendly and not in a hurry to seat us. She parked us right in front of the kitchen opening which offered a great view of the chef passing by occasionally, scowling at us, for what reason I do not know. We received our drinks in sufficient time and proceeded to wait 10 minutes for the one waitress serving the whole place to take our orders. I'm not going to wait around all night for overpriced lasagna ($16 for a pound...I could make 4 pounds for that) and almost everthing else was in $12 range as well. Came in here with one of my girlfriends for the first time. I've always driven by it but never had time to stop. But I'm so glad I did this time. As we walked in we were greeted by a sweet young lady. I think her name was Morgan. She sat us at our table and told us Maddy would be right with us. When Maddy came to the table she asked us how our day was and if we have ever been here before. I told her we haven't and she pointed out some great top foods to try out on the menu! We ordered the grounder with fries (best fries ever tasted) and the hero I believe it's called. Food was amazing! Excellent servers! We came back here after two and a half years abroad. My dad was the one who showed me it originally. My wife and I were delighted to have a five star experience. We were greeted promptly, the waitress did everything a 20% tip deserves, and the food was delicious. We ordered the mozzarella sticks for appetizers, and order the half and half, and the ravioli, both with Italian sausage. It came with a "super salad" that was actually super. The food arrived fast, with salad first, then the mozzarella sticks (the best I've had in a loooong time), and finally the main course. The food was of great portions, not skimpy at all, the sauce was zesty, bold, and robust, and just the right amount. I wolfed down with as much restraint as I could the whole thing and felt my appetite retire in happy defeat. Just sitting here I feel the afterglow. A lot of people have been sad about Dino's newer ownership kind of ruining what used to be the best Italian food around, and after DiCicco's left Olde Wadsworth for the airport, there should be no doubt where the best Italian food in west Denver is. The only downer of the evening was that we weren't fans of the music selection, which plays softly in the background. A lot of it is a weird amalgam of pop hits by artists that weren't really doing it for us. But again it was soft and so easy to ignore. And while it is part of the dining experience, it's one area I can forgive because you can't pander to everyone's taste in music. But even so, they deserve five stars for an excellent meal and wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended. read more
