I ordered the Sizzlin Seafood Delight by takeout. The food was excellent. Problems: there were only 4 shrimp and 3 smallish scallops and A LOT OF VEGGIES, for about $30 (with tax). So I just got home with my take out order and realized that the most expensive chinese restaurant in Nashua no longer gives white rice with their house special dishes. Just spent 50.00 dollars on 2 house special dishes and found out the hard way that I needed to pay 1.00 more to get white rice with those entrees. Their food and dining experience are excellent. Take out service and customer service are poor and seem to be getting worse through the years. Food: pretty good, haven't had a bad meal there. I particularly like their Hunan Chicken and Chicken Amazing, along with all of the soups. Dining: Beautiful restaurant with white linens and a good bar area. Definitely feels like more of an upscale Chinese restaurant. Take out/customer service: every take out order we have gotten in the past ~5 years has had errors. Missing food, incorrect meals, etc. When going back to pick up the right meal, they require you to bring back the incorrect item we got to exchange it. Very strange. They also ask many questions about why the order was wrong and blame the customer who ordered it. They have certainly become lazier and too confident over the years when it comes to customer service. We love the Lilac Blossom restaurant and feel it is one of the best Asian restaurants in the Nashua area. Note that it is not THE best, just in the top three or so. We have been going to the Lilac Blossom on Amherst St in north Nashua for over 20 years. They opened this restaurant in south Nashua around ten years ago. If you are meeting friends from Massachusetts for lunch or dinner, then this is a great place to meet. The food is very good. For the lunch specials you start with some fried egg roll wrappers and sweet and sour dipping sauce. They will provide hot mustard sauce if you ask for it. Next comes the soup. Their hot and sour soup is the best. If you don't like spicy soup, then their wonton soup is quite good too. After the soup comes the main course. Just about everything is good. I like spicy food so anything with the garlic sauce is great. I also like the Mala Chicken. It's quite spicy and good. Your choice of rice (white or fried) comes with your meal. As I said in my review of the north Nashua Lilac Blossom, this restaurant has struggled to balance food cost, portion size quality and price. If they can't make a profit, then they go out-of-business. We feel they made the right choice by reducing portions slightly, increasing the price, while keeping quality high. We will continue to visit this great Nashua restaurant. read more

Haven't been in quite a while. Went for a "date night". We ordered Peking ravioli. Great. Fried rice and lo mein along with a pu pu platter for 2 @ $25.95. Rice and lo main arrive. No platter. We Oder another drink each. No platter. Waiter comes with boxes to box up left over rice and noodles. We had to tell him. We never received the pu pu platter. Came in a reasonable time but by now the rice and noodles are cold. No comp for a drink, no acknowledgement of anything. $90+. For cold food, late food. Very small pu pu platter. No leftovers. We used to love getting take out from here but more and more I'm thinking we won't. Today was the last straw. It's New Year's Eve and I guess they're not answering the phone. So my husband drove all the way there to order. First of all the prices are becoming ridiculous (our order came to $88 for three meals). Good food, but I'd recommend dining in and not ordering takeout. Prices are nowhere to be found online and aren't on the menus on their website. I tried seeing if they were on doordash etc to find prices, but only their website exists. Decide to take a chance ordering takeout .. only to walk out paying 80$ with about 4 dishes. I wish they were more transparent with pricing - especially since the receipts are NOT itemized so I don't even know what dishes were the most expensive. Food: Portions were decent size and everything tasted great. We had a party of 6 and everyone liked their food. Service: When we walked in (around 5:15pm) there was maybe one other table that was full. With that being said it was surprising that we had to ask our waiter 3 times to fill our waters up. By the end of our time there it was busier but it was still kind of frustrating. 3 of the 6 meals came about 5-10 minutes before the other 3 meals. We had the scallion pancakes, brown rice, and the chili shrimp and it was superb. I think these were the best scallion pancakes that I've had anywhere and the sauce was light and very tasty. The chili shrimp was an extremely tasty dish, nicely presented and the slice of pineapple made it more attractive as well as tasty. Service was very good. Rudest waiter experience ever. Understand the covid challenges but one would not want to be insulted as a customer for doing nothing wrong and just wanting to have a meal with friends. We were a small group of 4 and were rudely rebuked by the waiter for anything we asked for or had any questions. He literally was throwing our food on the table. Any extra ask for silverware generated stern looks. On top of this behavior when it came time for the cheque he looked at the gratuity which was low being a reflection of his attitude and he got upset. He demanded a higher tip by raising his voice and creating a scene. When we raised this concern with the manager we were told to walk away and that no action would be taken. Very disappointed. We had always heard that this place had some of the best Chinese in town. They must have gone downhill because everything on our take out pupu was terrible. The crab rangoons had no flavor (just tasted like gobs of cream cheese), the fried shrimp wasn't edible (it had gray gooey stuff just under the batter), the pork ribs were all gristle, and the Peking raviolis were awful. After months of trying to eat here with someone, finally got someone to join me. I love that I can get my usual Chinese dishes at other restaurants, but with higher quality and service. My associate taught me how to eat Peking Duck rolled up in a tortilla like thing. (did you know that's actually a thing?!) Sesame fried steak is like a cube steak that has been battered. My husband liked it a lot. I ordered a spicy chicken dish with loads of veggies. Fried rice had huge chunks of chicken. Loved how our food came with a huge slice of honeydew melon and when the check came we were brought delicious orange wedges with fortune cookies...then a warm wet nap to clean hands. Lilac Blossom is one of my favorite places to go for Chinese. You know that feeling you get after most Chinese food, bloated, a bit ill, tired? I never get that here. My husband started taking me here for "date night" without the kids. We would sit at the bar and order a dish or two and just relax. It was fun. Then we made a big mistake... we brought the kids. Now we can't get out of the house without them if this is where we are going. They love it as much as we do. The best dish I feel they have is the Mongolian Beef and we always order the garlic broccoli to go along with it. I swear it is the most tender beef in a dish we have ever had. Wait staff is friendly and quick. The timing of everything just seems perfect here. Drinks to appetizers to dinner.. all at the right times. We have had Mother's Day here in the past and had a great time. It is Chinese, the prices are about the same as everywhere else so why not eat it in a beautiful restaurant? I've been to the Lilac Blossom on Amherst Street and had a much better experience. While the food there wasn't necessarily awesome - the service was fairly fancy with cloth napkins and so forth. I ordered carry out from the LB off Spit Brook Rd... very disappointed. My wife ordered sesame beef... her beef came in 2 very boring patties - never experienced that from a Chinese restaurant before. Assume the cook just forgot to chop the meat into bits and kibbles. My husband and I went to Lilac Blossom for a drink and an appetizer. He ordered a mai tai and I got a glass of Pinot Grigio. We had an appetizer, too, which was good. However, service was insanely slow, and no one was in the bar area. We got the bill and the charge for my glass of wine said Riesling $8.95, so I called attention to it and we asked the bartender about it. He said that's how much it costs and there's no code for pinot grigio so they just input it on their POS as Riesling. I'm sorry, but that is way too high for a glass of wine! Especially house wine! I went to the bathroom and the bartender proceeded to show my husband the wine list prices to prove his point that yes, a glass of house Pinot Grigio does is fact cost $8.95. Meanwhile my husband's mai tai was loaded with booze (we watched him make it, and we aren't complaining), and it cost $6.95. Some other customer came and left in a huff before us and there was a couple nearby at the bar as well. They were waiting and waiting to put in a food order. I've been a fan of Lilac Blossom for years. I moved to Maine 5 years ago, and nothing compares to Lilac. I really miss it. Saturday night I got the Moo Shi Chicken & as always it was fresh, flavorful & delicious. We also shared the Crab Rangoon which was also delicious. The entrees are a good portion size. That factor alone is quite annoying. Their food left me with no impression. The vegetable lo-mein we received was lukewarm, crab Rangoon's we limited with the crab. They have major issues regarding customer service. First, there are no prices if you are ordering online. Second, they take your order and then confirm you're calling the correct store. If you called the wrong store, they will not transfer the order to the other. Third and most importantly, they will ignore allergic requests. I told them I was allergic to mushrooms, and they repeated it to me. However there were mushrooms in the appetizers. I didn't find out until I took a bite of one. I called the manager to tell them what happened, and the response I got was "sorry about that" and then silence. Call over. It is a shame because their food is pretty good. We hadn't been to Lilac for many years, but this was the first time we've been to the South Nashua location. It was practically the only Chinese place open on Thanksgiving Day. Extra star for that! We got Scallion pancakes, General Tso's, Mala Seafood, and House Fried rice. All came out fast and fresh. Mala seafood was awesome! The kids got chicken fingers and white rice. They said it was the best Chinese chicken fingers they ever had. Place was starting to fill up when we left at 6:30pm. The dining room is big and they have a nice bar area.
