I travel often enough to try Gluten Free pizza at a lot of places. Normally, you get a previously frozen 10" shell that in the end tastes pretty good. BUT, BUT, BUT...HERE? I think they're home made, they come in 2 sizes. The pizza was "foldable" like a NY slice of regular pizza filled with gluten. It was delicious! I actually had to check with them to ensure it was really GF! So, yes...it's worth it. I'll be back when I'm in town. read more

I've come here twice, mostly because this is right down the street from where I live. I don't have many cheat meals but when I do, I eat things like pizza. Came in here on New Year's day and the place was rammed to the gills. Guess most other restaurants in Venice were closed. I had the spicy sausage and pepperoni. Bagel crust is alright...it was better than I remember. Pepperoni on sesame wasn't bad. I don't know...I think I'm just spoiled by Gjelina take-away's pizzas. I can't seem to get into Abbot's Pizza Co. Although...I will come back here one more time and try the salad pizza because everyone raves about it. For a quick no frills place to eat just swing by and grab a slice or two of pizza! They'll heat it up for you in a quick minute and make the crust nice and crispy again and the cheese all melty! Way better than just grabbing some cold pizza. There's very limited seating inside as it's really just a takeout and delivery place. I live the variety of pizzas they have here! I have yet to try the salad pizza but I intend to on my next visit here. They've a wide assortment for carnivores, omnivores and vegetarians too! You can also customize your own if you don't find anything to please you. I also like how they make their crusts a bit different. Think of a place like panera where you can pick out a bread you like for your sandwich. Here you can pick the crust! For $4.30 a slice, tax included, you can get two if you like. This place is delicious!! They have so many different combinations of toppings to choose from that you can go crazy having to make one choice. I have tried a couple and they have all been delicious. They also have loads of vegetarian options and customization options too. If you dont want to wait a long time for an entire pizza, they have large slices of all sorts of varieties available right at the cashier and they all look good. The line is usually long but it goes pretty fast. You can even choose the type of seasoning on the crust!! That is just so cool. Got to try it. For NY pizza quality, its pretty good, but not superb. Just had this place for the first time even though I work down the street. We ordered the salad pizza which I was hesitant about because there is no meat on the thing. However, the damn pizza was loaded with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, 2 types of cheeses and had a crispy crust underneath which I love. Highly recommend if you are ever in the Abbot-Kinney area. The amount of fuss it takes to get here and find parking on a Saturday is completely worth it! The hubs + I decided to head up here to stroll around here on a Saturday with the intention of grabbing a late lunch here and some coffee at Intelligentsia afterwards. He had only had Abbot's Pizza Co at a party last year, but never fresh in the shop. We ordered a slice of Gypsy and a slice of the Salad Pizza to share. I've had the Salad Pizza before and haven't had another one like it since! The generous greens that top this slice along with the fresh avocados balance the crispiness of the bread. The Gypsy, on the other hand, was a delightful surprise! The flavorful all veggie pizza and the creamy ricotta really pack a punch! As a former carnivore who could pack away a 16oz prime rib at Claim Jumpers or the cowboy rib eye at Houstons, I didn't feel like you need any meat to make this a spectacular pizza. The pizza was so delish here that we ordered a whole Popeye pie before our drive back home. Even after reheating the pizza in the oven, the toppings still tasted amazing and the crust was just as doughy and delicious! I have to say that this might be the best pizza pie I've had in So.Cal! I've loved every slice of pizza I've eaten here. My favorite, however, is the Chicken BBQ. For years, I kept trying Chicken BBQ pizzas and was always let down (especially at CPK, ew). Finally, Abbot's did it right. Three years later and something happened to my taste buds. I hate chicken & turkey, unless it's fried and in wing format. But I still crave their chicken BBQ pizza, I just take off the chicken and it's still great. I love the crust, including the sesame seed and poppy (?) seeds. My former experiences at Abbots have been lackluster. I usually went during off hours and had old pizza that they should have retired long before i got there. However, this last time I went during a busy hour and tried out their salad pizza. It was $5 per slice but it had a lot of stuff on it and it was quite good. About a half hour later I decided to go back for another slice because I wasnt quite full, I walked in the door and heard the cashier (beeotch) yelling at some customer "We didnt touch your pizza!!!" The customer wasnt one of the ancient crazies on the Abbot Kinney strip, so Im going to side with him. Also, my friend told me she got into an altercation with the cashier because they wouldnt give her a fresh slice. Bagel crust? pretty sweet. But bagel crust covered sesame seeds? absolutely amazing! It is so surprising that just a simple ingredient like sesame seeds can take something to whole different level. And like many yelpers suggested.. the crust is definitely something to be enjoyed in itself with the spicy dipping sauce! Also, the owner here is a friendly guy who definitely treats his customers right. props to him! I just wish parking was easier to find here... and also that the pizzas by the slice were more fresh.. or if not at least reheated until they were hot enough to imitate freshness. I've given this place a shot on a number of occasions as it's so close by, but there pizza isn't that good. The salad pizza is the only thing I've tried and fully enjoyed, I'll give them credit for that. But, that's not even a really pizza slice, it's an L.A. thing. This place suffers from the same ailment a lot of "Pizza" places in town do. They cook a bunch of pizzas, and then leave them in a dismal display case, and reheat as you order. This kills so much of the soul of a pizza. Even when we've ordered whole pizzas at work, from their Pico location, I'm always let down. They use really cheap cheeses on all there pies, which turns really chewy. And, the crusts are a bit doughy, and lack crunch in the middle. Great for a quick eat on Abbot Kinney, and one of the few places on the strip that won't break your bank. I work around the corner so I pop in here often and try to get something new each time. They have a lot of business so they're able to keep several pies on display and sell them before they lose their freshness. It's always good. My coworkers always love the salad pizza but I'm partial to their bbq chicken and Greek pizzas. read more

the Four Way pizza is great - the crisp bagel crust, olive pesto sauce and great cheese is really fantastic. You've got to get it. Yeah the area is hit or miss for parking ( I won't even try on a weekend) but the guys working there all seem like they are having a good time. Every time i am in the area, I definitely stop in to order a WHOLE pizza (to take home) because this pizza is better than almost any other place that I can think of. It always hits the spot. The prices are good. The ingredients are fresh. The variety is great. And, the service is quick and friendly. And, if you are in search of gluten-free pizza, this is the place to go. They also are home to the "bagel crust" which I REALLY love, but I am trying to stay gluten-free whenever I can. But, sometimes, I just cannot resist the garlic bagel crust. Delicious! read more

They have a bunch of "gourmet" pizzas, which usually don't float my boat, but there's are unusally good. Most offerings available by the slice. Home of the bagel crust! A small joint with limited seats and located on a street very tough to park on. My goodness, the many gorgeous gals walking this street is impressive, but i digress, the pizza is VERY good. I'm from New York where the pizza reigns supreme and this is very close to a NY slice. Decent size thin crust with tasty sauce and cheese. The crust is bagel-like and works well. Has a good level of grease so it's not super healthy although a lot of people order the salad pizza, i've noticed. Definitely not me. However, if you plan on a cheap slice somewhere, this ain't it. I came here about a year ago with a local while visiting LA. I had the pepperoni. It's been sometime since I ate here... I remember enjoying my slice of pizza, but I have tasted better. I guess after eating NYC pizza, every other pizza is just "okay" We parked on the street, it was quiet busy and there was a line. Small hole in the wall, so seating was a little tight, we managed to grab a seat inside. I may come back here again to try another slice of pizza. It's the bagel-style crust that gets top votes for me but the sauce and toppings are superb as well. This was the perfect place to visit after some early bar-hopping in and around Venice. It looked incredible and I'm sure tastes even better. Definitely next time. Abbot's is a small, almost standing room only, pizza parlor. With a few chest high counters on either side of the place and a few tables and seats outside, it makes it easy to catch a slice and enjoy it on the "go." But definitely don't think about having a sit down dinner here or anything...it's logistically impossible. Prices are fair, ingredients are fresh and creative food ideas are even fresher. Let me start off by declaring my love for Venice and Abbot Kinney and hippies. Now that that's out of the way, I wish I liked this place a lot more. I was very impressed with the selection of pizzas and crusts, and if you're a meat+cheese eater, that's awesome. I appreciate that they offer cheeseless pizza, and I'm not about to diss a place just because they don't offer specialty vegan products but dammit I wish they had vegan cheese. Ordered the barbecue chicken pizza, and I must say, this one was pretty tasty! We ordered delivery so I cannot comment about dine in experience. However they did take over an hour to deliver when they said 45 minutes. One thing I probably will comment on is I wish they had more chicken on the pizza. It was pretty scarce. BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD!! Pretty much anything here is amazing so just try what ever catches your eye. Super awesome quick staff!! You can tell they know what they're doing! When I first relocated my throne to Venice, I called upon Abbot to bring forth my pizza. It was good. Then I tried them by the slice. Twice, to be sure what I experienced was not an illusion. Sadly, it wasn't: Mr. Abbot and his Magical Pizzeria cannot serve a decent slice. Their heaping toppings don't retain their flavor, and despite my incessant urgings for them not to burn my slice in the reheating process, they burnt it. How many times does an enormous green cat with an exceedingly purple nose have to tell these people: I DON'T LIKE IT CRISPY. For the price, mediocrity is not acceptable. I'd rather walk over to Venice Beach and get a grimy 99 cent slice. read more
