Lily's is a great place to have lunch. You can't go wrong with any of her sandwiches or gourmet salads. I would recommend the tuna on rosemary bread or the black forest ham sandwich. Portions are generous. Be sure to have Lily's house iced tea -- "a sweet tea from the old South," she says. People rave about it. I wouldn't ever go here again. Call in an order and specifically say no dressing but they don't tell you they already mixed in dressing. Go to pick up the order and then Lilly (yes herself) says that dressings for her daily salads are always mixed and assures me it is light. It was so heavy as that is all you tasted was her dressing. But the best is her non-consistent policy on taking credit cards. Two weeks ago the minimum was $25 and this week when I went to pay she says $50. I called her on it because obviously she wants to try and be a cash based buisness. She comes up with some excuse that it used to be as high as $50. If that is the case then just come right out and say cash only. I think its a matter of what she wants to have as charged sales and what she wants as cash. Bottom line, food wasn't good and hustling a customer isn't cool. read more

It is possible I have not been there enough however I went there for lunch in June and was quite impressed. I ordered a sandwich with a side salad and loved it. My coworker recommended since she had been there before. The place is so cute as well. Since I am on summer break, as soon as the school year starts I will head back over for lunch! read more

This place is cute. Small and cozy. And Lily is really sweet and gives great costumer service. Just avoid lunch hours because it can be packed. However, i am not impressed by the sandwiches. It was a plain ol' sandwich you make at home. bread, deli, cheese, veggies. I was expecting the bread to be warmed up (it was so hard to bite and chew, i thought I seriously was about to lose a tooth) and the cheese to be melted and yummy sauces or seasoning or just that extra oomph that you want from a sandwich. but it just tasted like the ones I make at home. If you want a sandwich, just go to sprouts market nearby itll be way bigger and fulfilling and much much cheaper. I will be back for her desserts and house ice tea (because its absolutely delicious and had inspired me to brew some at home myself) !! read more

Lilly's Café might be small, but it is the best little place in Burbank! Lilly is fantastic! She makes you feel like she personally put a little love in each meal. Their Turkey Chili and Tuna Salad sandwich is to die for! Her Ice Tea is so good, I have tried to duplicate it many times at home, but can't quite get to her level of greatness! Went to this place for lunch with a friend last April 10th 2012, and loved it! Very healthy, very fulfilling, very interesting decoration, clean, and great service. this place is a cute cozy little restaurant...it reminded me of my old college hangout in Fullerton...I've heard that it's hard to get a table here during lunch rush ( which is understandable...the place is teeny-tiny! ). So we got there around noon, luckily it wasnt busy yet. I ordered the black forest ham sandwich on wheat and the house ice tea....i never liked iced tea until i had theirs....it was AMAZING~!!...it didnt have a bitter aftertaste and it's mixed with fresh orange juice..,wow! It was sooo good. ( And the BEST part? Free refills, YAY!! ) The sandwich was perfect...I'm a small eater, so the sandwich looked big and it had plenty of lettuce, tomato peppers and just the right amount of vinaigrette, mayo and mustard. It's like having your (health-conscious) aunt make you a sandwich, it was wholesome. As we were leaving we noticed that there were people outside waiting...whew! I loved our server ( Lily? )...she was very attentive. I will definitely come back here and bring friends and family ( before noon, lol )...oh, and its cash only. read more

I like that they have good vegetarian options and are flexible with vegan options for some salads. I do not like the way they package their to go food. I have a greasy paper bag of soup and a puddle of liquid in my plastic bag from my lentil salad. I wasn't tossing my bag around so it shouldn't be such a giant mess. I would have at least appreciated a warning that I need to hold my salad box even so as not to spill any liquid. And minus a star for being cash only. The food is pretty decent and reasonably healthy. I would rather pay less for a realistic portion in the salad department, but oh well. read more

Lily's is delicious! If you want an amazing sandwich or a delicious homemade bowl of soup, then this is the place to come! The only downside is that this spot is tiny, so your best bet may be to order something to go, because snagging a table at lunchtime can be difficult. I have been going to Lilys Cafe since it opened about 17 years ago. I think that says it all but I will tell you about some of my favorites: Turkey Chili is filled with large pieces of ground turkey and she adds a slice of Swiss and red onions (Lily's style), red lentil with grilled onions, chicken soup, carrot soup. White Tuna salad is large with lots of veggies, lentil salad with small chopped veggies. A case filled with yummy desserts. Lily always serves with a smile. If I were ever able to open up a cafe, I would want to be just like Lily. First of all, she is amazing! She really does do it all, from cashier-ing, to waitress-ing, to bus boy (girl?)-ing. I had a 1/2 grilled veggie sandwich with the turkey chili today. It was great. Very good mix of good tasting food, great atmosphere, and friendly people. Friendly, Cozy, and delicious.The only part I didn't like was that it was small, but that's probably why it's Cozy and Friendly. The owner/Waitress is hands on, very attentive even during peak hours she gets to everyone. The portions are huge, I ordered 1/2 soup , 1/2 sandwich (they come on toasted oval shape bread). By the time I was done with the soup (turkey chilli amazing) I couldn't finish my sandwich (got the Grilled veggie). With home made Iced tea whole thing came to $12 with tip, (but lunch special with just water would have been like 8 or 9), it pretty much covered lunch and dinner, I was so full I didn't need to have dinner. read more

Lily's Cafe is my absolute favorite place to go for lunch. Lily runs the register at almost all times she is friendly every time and always has a smile on her face. Its a small place and can't seat many but its worth the wait to do so because of the warm atmosphere. The food is fresh, organic, and well prepared.
